Well, I applied to Strathclyde and Glasgow with the erroneous one and was given admission but didn't go as I couldn't secure scholarship. Try your luck while rectifying it.

Remember to visit the closest WAEC office to you to confirm the information and documents required.

It is very possible. Do not listen to those who says it cannot. I made that mistake and missed out on many things. I will give you my experience.

WAEC made me ten years older than my current age and when I went to the WAEC office in Yaba as far back as 2012 (this is after the numerous emails I sent them of which they never replied), I met with an official who told me this "If you were made five years older, it would have been possible but since it is an error of ten years, there's nothing that can be done". I took this is good faith till last year when I applied for a job. The date of birth was in conflict with what WAEC had and I was disqualified despite showing them my DoB certificate. I made frantic efforts to search for a solution till I was pointed to WAEC office in Ogolonto, Ikorodu (different centers have different places for rectification). I brought the necessary documents required, paid N10000 and was asked to wait for a year. It was ready in eight months and the error rectified so try to check before then. (they will NEVER contact you despite you dropping your email addrress and phone number).

Thank you so much for this Info. My waec DOB was a year older and I’ve been making frantic efforts to see if it’d be corrected before admission but to no avail .. I had to use the mistaken DOB of waec to continue registration during admissions in the uni to maintain a consistent DOB. Well, I’m apparently considering applying for scholarships abroad for masters and kinda skeptical if this would ever work considering the mistake.. my International passports carries my original DOB though...

Don’t mind paying any amount to fastrack the amendment of such mistake if need be.

Very possible. I did mine in 2016. The year was correct but day and month wrong.

Funny enough I even had it laminated. You know what, the lamination was removed, and the error corrected with the right infomation.

I waited for just two hours and collected it but I paid 15k. I will try and get the contact for you. Most times, to make things easy for you when you need to go through government offices, you have to know the right person and be ready to spend extra cash. Nothing is fair in Nigeria unfortunately.

Problem is, I don't know how to pass this info to you once I get the contact person.

I was Born and Brought up in Ibadan and I know IB City In and out... And I've also been to so many places in the Country and I must say, people have a very distorted view about Ibadan. There are places in Ibadan that has the same atmosphere with that of Lekki, Magodo, VI, etc in Lagos. The same way there are ghetto and slums too that competes with those in Lagos as well.

For example, It's almost impossible for an averagely rich person who lives in Magodo or some parts of Lekki in Lagos or even someone who lives in Kubwa or Wuse II in Abuja to afford living comfortably in Aerodrome in Ibadan, only if you're really super rich and can stay rich for years.

So, to those that see Ibadan mainly and only as a city of brown roofs... May Sense fall on y'all. AMEN
