Some of the excuses are flimsy. Why does an average Nigerian has to pay for their poor financial investment choices like the loss they incur in forex ?

And now they’re blaming Nigerian exchange rates and power outages in South Africa. Isn’t that flimsy ?

The floodgates of heaven just be releasing anything masquerading in the flesh of a man these days, 'cause what are these enemies fashioned against women are dating them? undecided

I am sure it'll be easier for you to break up with her and leave her to her 'independent American ways', but no. You decided to *deal* with a person you are dating, and whom you claim to love, and you're coming here to tell us as if it's some badge of honor.

You won't stay single; you still won't appreciate her independence but are committed to frustrating the poor girl for some token manly points.

P.S.: I don't need to read the full story. The word "deal" and the foot your story started off on is telling enough.
Lol. Another entity jumping into conclusions. Didn’t you see “to be continued” ? You don’t even know the aspect of independence we’re talking about. Just shut up and wait for the final content!!

Morning morgang, I am actually not au fait with AWS. The stuff I talk about is very basic information anyone in IT should know.

Database and Security is always good but I do think there are more AWS people in the Programming section here in Nairaland that would point you in a better direction.

I think you have made an excellent decision going into a boot camp though. From what I hear, they are tough but immensely satisfying at the end when you complete it.
Thanks for the swift feedback. I’ll intensify my search for it.

sweetgala, in fairness to madam expert, she didn't take or use protected information. You can find AWS uptime information easily on the Internet as you can for other cloud providers. Of course she wouldn't tell Pétérù and his lawyers that (until they fully pay her expenses at least).

What LP needed was audit log information of INEC's server or cluster in the AWS cloud and not what she presented in court in order to prove foul play. Not that it would help their cause in wanting Pétérù to be declared winner of elections he was declared as 2nd runner up.

Obidients shouting excitedly upandan that The AWS cloud was up during that period fail to understand that the Cloud could be healthy but INEC's server on that cloud could have crashed for various reasons, one of which could be unhandled application exceptions.

Furthermore, their highly touted LP AWS certified cloud architect that was coming from Amazon headquarters in the US has no LinkedIn or Credly account, interesting that.

The sooner Obidients realise that Pétérù is not coming, the better. They also need to understand that no mandate had being stolen as it's thankfully always been with the rightful owner.
You seem extremely sound in aws. I just enrolled in an aws bootcamp; this is a major step for me and I’ll appreciate your recommendations on fields in aws I could settle for and necessary resources to aid my learning. Thank you.

Fit and not handsome/beautiful is better than fat and not handsome/beautiful.

Also, being fit is a result of good habits such as self-discipline (health over taste since unhealthy foods are usually sweet/pleasurable), and I won't be in a problem one day because my partner refused to live healthily.

Because when shit hits the fan, it is me, the healthy one that will bear the responsibility to take care of you; If you ever had a sick family member, you will understand. It is not a good place to be in.
True. My point was in relation to sexual attractiveness to the other party but not the benefit of fitness in general. Since the topic was about how a male figure’s look attract ladies, I mentioned if one is fit and ugly, his chances of getting some cochie is less as compared to the one with fit and handsome looks.

I’m unequivocally a huge fan of healthy fitness routines. Also, sometimes it’s hard to tell what women are attracted to. For instance, I don’t have the best looks, but I’ve had instances ladies randomly touch my arm because it has “gunz look” or they simply admire my “sexy body”. I must admit it has earned me a couple of cheap points in my world of flirting abroad. In sum, fitness should be complimented with decent looks and dress sense; also smell nice, be respectful and reserve. Lastly, be logically bold when approaching a lady and don’t take rejections to heart.

Fitness is not the hobby of the average Nigerian. If you're fit, you'll never have problem having chicks, regardless of colour.

One thing humans generally are powerless against is attraction, and attraction is not a conscious decision. People can't control who they are attracted to.

And a sure way to increase your attractiveness is to be fit to a point you can clearly see your six packs as a man. And for a woman, take responsibility of your life and stop fooling yourself with bbw nonsense.

Being fit is the starter, then have a good life. Graduate college and stay off debt, have your own place, and no baby mamaism. I strongly believe that one can change their circumstances, after all, those living better life are just like you.

But sadly the average Nigerian person I see in the West, especially in Canada were fat, as in not chubby, but fat. And I ask myself, what do people consider a good life?

If you have all the degrees, house and career and a single sickness can kill you, or you cant outrun/fight off a person with a cutlass trying to kill you, then you get it all wrong. Your body is wealth, and every other things follows.
Hi, you made a good point. But you failed to mention how looks compliments fitness. One can be very fit and yet, look average/ugly. Such feature could be a disadvantage. I believe what the OP implies is, either one is very handsome or a guy is both handsome and fit, he stands a chance, otherwise loneliness will be your company.

Lastly, healthy fitness routine is generally advisable for one to master. However, if you’re fit and ugly looking or at best, average, only God can save you from Konji.

Hey, please don’t listen to anyone saying “use morning or afternoon piss”.. I guess you don’t “just wake up and saw it on your face” like you said. The signs are there before now. Most likely a cyst. Always big and painful. Please see a dermatologist. I’ve been battling acne for a while and these are one of the signs.. Benzol peroxide (10%) usually works.

Most folks in the US use accutane, but the medication is heavily regulated and not sure you can find it in Nigeria. See a dermatologist for a professional diagnosis.

Best.

My thoughts are:

1. It depends on the prestige/popularity of the school
2. The resumption date was it, start of classes or orientation
3. If it is orientation, is she going to take it online?
4. Because if it is start of classes, resuming almost two weeks later is quite alot
5. As for VOs accepting it, it depends on how she presents her case by answering the above questions.
The school name is Illinois state university. And the program orientation starts on the 15th. Although her supervisor would make arrangements for late orientation, but she could as well participate remotely. Class officially starts on the 22nd. If things go according to plan, she’d most likely miss a week of lectures.

Hi guys, I need your thoughts on this.

My girl’s visa appointment is on August 18th and the school’s official resumption is on the 15th (same month). She’s being offered a letter of extension until September 1st.

Do VOs/POEs still recognize formal letter of extension or it depends solely at the discretion of the interviewer?

and Lastly,

Could her late appearance result to a denial ?

Your personal thoughts and experience are highly appreciated.

Good afternoon, everyone

I recently received a fully funded offer for a PhD. I want to apply for F2 for my wife, so we can both attend the visa interview together.

However, my assistantship offer may not cover all of her own expenses as stipulated by the school. So we want to get a proof of funds.

My question is this: is it better we use her account for the proof of funds or we should use my mom's account? What do you think, please?

P.S: Anyone here going to Oklahoma State University, let's connect.
Welcome to my school bud.

Bunch of softies nowadays. Someone said Atm have a negative image in football? Real Madrid almost lost due to their laid back style. Barca lost twice in their return leg against Roma and Liverpool. If every winning team is hosting a return leg, I’ll have my players perform Simone moves. Felipe’s episode against Foden was unnecessary, otherwise everything else was perfect. Mancity were lucky.

Football has gone to the sissy’s nowadays.

You need to learn how to see things from their perspective. While you're thinking "they're racist", they're thinking "it's better safe than sorry"

We can't deny the fact that Africans, Nigerians especially, have made a bad name for themselves. If we want people to feel safe with us, we need to start working on our reputation
Not sure why I see the last statement as lame- with all due respect. Avoiding a black person asking for direction for instance , is purely racist. I live in the US for over a year, and one thing I realized is, whether you’re Nigerian or not, being black already keep you at disadvantage.

But there are people out there who will still welcome and value your worth if you earn it regardless of nationality and race.

Thanks so much,

I was denied Emergency request cos my admission previously was for Spring 2022 so I requested for expedition last year and I was granted Dec 1st 2021 at Abuja embassy, my visa was denied so I deferred my admission to summer 2022. Now there's no closer available date and I got a reply from the embassy after requesting for emergency again that they cannot grant emergency for the person that was denied of visa of recent thats why I was looking for another way to get an appointment.
Just an observation-

Your visa was denied and you didn’t bother sharing your transcript so that others will advise or possibly learn. Not a good practice on this platform.

I wish you good-luck with your date search and ultimately, visa.

I’m in the U.S doing my Masters in a different field and I can guarantee you that the demand for data analysts are always endless. No knowledge is a waste. We’ll get there someday!

Please, if you’re very good in data analysis, I will appreciate your mentorship. Currently in my last phase in Tableau, I hope to advance to Python next week. I’m also stuck with Tableau project (I enrolled with Simplilearn boot camp) and I need help!

I remember speaking with this lady who is of Nigerian decent sometimes ago here in the states. We spoke and had an interesting conversation. She’s single with no kids. Family pressures to marry cause she’s in her 30s. Not sure I’m ready for marriage but I’m open about it if the energy is . We spoke that day but for some reason, we didn’t speak or text after some days- about a week. After a week, she texted me and I was like lol… see who messaged.

I didn’t care if we get to talk but her text after a week reaffirms that women need to up their game in this generation. Conversations should be 50/50 especially if you feel the guy fits in your spec. Do not expect men to do the running’s cause at the end, our eggs doesn’t run low. Make efforts in every possible relationship (if the guy matches your vibe) and see how the event unfolds naturally.

Thank you all, I will be explaining each and every evidences as much as I could.......

1, The evidence I sent contained result of the DNA testing by GBI

2, There is also transcript of the testimony by the GBI expert who was testifying on behalf of the prosecution

3, Also there is transcript of the defense DNA expert that I hired to testify at the trial, however the JUDGE prevented my hired DNA expert from testifying to the jury.

However we organise something called DAUBERT HEARING ( a secret hearing that jury will never hear about but it will be on the record ) my DNA expert made it clear at the hearing that the profile of the DNA recovered from the vagina was totally different from my DNA profile and he said in science that is a basis for exclusion as the contributor of the sperm in the vagina.

Even Ms Hinkle that was testifying on behalf of the prosecution could not say that Mr Bah was the contributor.

The Question is whose DNA was the DNA in the vagina?
Great explanation. What do you have to say about the CCTV footage?

I've been on this platform for nearly two months. Yet I can't see anyone applying for language courses, especially English.

I've gone through this part 16 from the beginning to 90, no applications for language courses at all.

I will be grateful if any applicants who applied for language courses can signify.

This is the second time I've asked this question.

It seems graduate schools are dominated by science and social sciences.

Same thing I observed on LinkedIn.

Thanks in anticipation.
Not sure if anyone has addressed your question yet. But let me chip in my one kobo-

Check BGSU website- department of English, I assure you, if you meet up with the requirements, you will get admitted. A friend who just graduated with an MA in English tipped 3 of his ex classmates and they are here now.

However, my suggestion is not limited to BGSU. Do your homework and you’ll realize that even Music department has funding.

Kindly remember that writing a GRE and maybe English proficiency increase your chances of admission.

I'm making this thread to shed some light on the journey to becoming a data scientist in Nigeria.

Coming from a non-IT background, being a female, and not having IT professionals to look up to for guidance I mostly had to navigate the entire process myself. It can be tough moving into data science when you have no clue what programming is all about ( I even pronounced Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) as Zero Zero Programming- It was that bad).

I had spent 5 years in Business Development across various industries and had got to a point where I knew that to remain relevant and to get the kind of income/financial freedom I desired then a career switch was inevitable.

Switching to IT was/is the best decision I have made in my career I am elated by my journey and looking back it's hard to believe that the person who had to google pronunciation of programming terms can now write a Python program.

I'm doing this so women or anyone who finds the process intimidating will realize that it's not impossible and it's a step that is so worth it.
Hi Op, thank you for sharing this piece with us. It really came handy. I’m at the initial phase and trying to brush up on my statistics and subsequently excel, sql and the “bigger ones”. I understand that that one might not be a pro in each sub-field, but on a scale of 1-10, how well would you recommend one to master statistics, excel, sql, R/python, etc ?

If anyone has relative idea, it’ll be highly appreciated.

Once again, thank you.

Left to me, these people shouldn’t bother sharing their transcripts if they intend leaving out important information such as name of uni, how they got funding etc.

All this xgx , dry, wpc transcript are annoying.
I am okay with one being discrete about their profession, company name etc. Few years ago when I began this journey, I skimmed through from part 1; page 1 to the most recent post, I could barely see anyone being discrete with name of schools or amount of funding. It was a thorough and insightful transcripts all round. This platform is beyond any form of self-centeredness; I refer lot of people to this platform each time my old pals reach out for student visa or travel guidance. I hope he realized that the journey is beyond getting visa.
