A 10-man gang that specializes in selling joysticks have been arrested by the Kogi State Police command.

The gang was arrested after a member reported them at the police station over failure on the part of the leader of the gang Yakubu Ahmedu to fulfill his promise.
In a chat with AIT, they revealed how they killed four local vigilante men and a Police Officer in Ofu LGA during one of their operations.
39-year-old Yakubu Ahmedu, who is the kingpin of the gang, held positions of Secretary of the Local Vigilante Group for five years and was its chairman for one year in Ankpa LGA where he hails from.
While being paraded, Yakubu confessed to newsmen that he had access to arms and ammunition with which he has hunted down victims for human parts, especially male private organs. But the business nosedived after the arms mop up directed by the Inspector-General of Police.
Consequently, Yakubu Ahmedu resorted to recruiting youths in the community to resuscitate the business.
However, when he failed to keep his promise to give the young lads a comfortable life, one of the gang members, 18-year old Obila Attah decided to turn the group into the Inspector-General of Police Special Tactical Squad.
Attah said: “Ahmedu (gang leader) called my friend that he needs parts of the human pen!s.
“He said if we provide the parts he would give us money that would be enough to build a house.”

A 15 year old boy has beheaded himself with a chainsaw after losing a computer game in Russia.
According to reports, Pavel Mateev, went into his yard yesterday morning before he “switched on a chainsaw and sawed off his own head.”

It is unclear what computer game he was playing, but a female source said Pavel spent hours at his computer and that his “nerves gave in after a game”.

Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, has hired New York bank Raine Group in preparation for selling off the club, according to The Sunday Times.

The Federal Government has insisted that it did not pay any ransom to secure the release of the Dapchi girls.
The government reiterated this on the heels of the 22nd report of the Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team of the United Nations’ Security Council, which stated that large ransom payment was made to Boko Haram to secure the release of the over 100 schoolgirls kidnapped from a secondary school in Dapchi, Yobe State in February.
This is contrary to what the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, told journalists at the time that the girls were released following “back-channel” negotiations brokered with the help of some “friends of the country.”
He maintained that no ransom was paid for their release, and also denied that any Boko Haram prisoner was swapped as part of the negotiations.
In a statement issued in Ilorin, Kwara State, on Thursday, the Minister challenged anyone who has any evidence of payment to publish such.
”It is not enough to say that Nigeria paid a ransom, little or huge. There must be a conclusive evidence to support such claim. Without that, the claim remains what it is: a mere conjecture,” the Minister said.

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has accused the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, of committing an act bordering on treason by failing to reconvene the National Assembly on Tuesday.

A suspected Kidnapper who was arrested in a kidnap attempt in Owo is dead, following complications that arose from a high intake of Tramadol tablets.

NAN reports that the suspect had been unconscious since his arrest over the August 5 incident at a chemist in Owo.

Police Public Relations Officer for Ondo State Command, Mr. Femi Joseph, made the death public while speaking with the NAN on Tuesday in Akure.

According to Joseph, the suspect died at Owo General Hospital where medical personnel had battled to revive him.

“The suspect died nine days after we arrested him; we thought he would be revived so that he could help us in our investigation. Unfortunately, he died yesterday (Monday).

“This could be connected with his suspected high intake of Tramadol.

“We are using this opportunity to further educate the public, especially parents, to monitor their wards and the kind of company they keep,’’ he said.

NAN recalls that suspected kidnappers had stormed Chinery Pharmacy in Owo township with the intention of kidnapping the pharmacist.

The pharmacist, on sighting the suspects with arms, was said to have escaped through an exit door at the back of the chemist.

The suspects later snatched a Bajaj motorcycle from one Daodu Wale who came to the chemist to buy drugs.

While one of the suspects fell and was arrested, two accomplices escaped on the motorcycle.

One cut-to-size locally-made gun and 400mg of Tramadol tablets were recovered from the suspect.

He was said to have slipped into a coma since his arrest until his death on Monday evening.
