AuroraB:Of course it is worth celebrating. Life is worth celebrating. The child's destiny was not truncated |
BoneBlogger:Welcome dear baby. You are really already a Victor. You overcame death in the womb. Dear mother of this bundle of blessing congratulations. You have done the right thing by not committing murder/abortion. This child would wipe your tears in years to come. You are blessed. |
petra1:There is a common question, did Mary have any other children? Many quote Mt 13:55 that list the brothers of Jesus. See the identity of the brothers of Jesus so that so may you may understand that these are sons of Alpheus (Two of them are apostles). The brothers of Jesus listed in Matthew 13: 55 are James and Joseph and Simon and Jude. Gal 1.19 Identifies one of the apostles James as the brother of Jesus. (Note two of the twelve apostles bear James. One the son of Zebedee and the other son of Alpheus) Luke 6:15: Says James father is Alpheus (not Joseph, ). Luke 6:16: identifies the apostle Jude as the brother of James the less. Mark 15: 40 Acknowledges that the mother of James the less is also the mother of Joseph. Hence James and Joseph are brothers. So with this we can see that James the less, Jude and Joseph listed as brothers of Jesus in Matthew 13:55 have been identified . John 19:25 Identifies Mary of Cleopas(Alpheus) as the sister of Mary the mother of Jesus.( Note Cleopas is the Greek version of the Aramaic name Alpheus). Hence the brothers are simply his relatives. Since their Mother is a sister to Mary the Mother of Jesus |
JMAN05:My dear let us look at Mk 10:5 &111cor 4:6 helps us with the principle of using what is written to guide us before we act. Whatever you hear from Jesus nor Paul shouldn't contradict what the written word told us, do you agree? Is this a case for what is written or correcting what is written? Here Jesus corrected what was written. Mark 10: 5-6,11. But Jesus told them,“Moses wrote this commandment for you because your hearts were hard. However, from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female Mk 10:11He answered, "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. Also look at Mt 5:21-43. In this case Christ was correcting what had been said, not necessarily what had been written. Here Our Lord Jesus would say, you have heard it said that ....But I say to you.. Matthew 4:7 Jesus answered him( the devil), "It is also written.... This shows that the right interpretation of what is written is more paramount than quoting a section of the scriptures. Now going back to 1 Cor 4:6 there are 3 comments I would make here. First of all Paul was writing to with respect to a particular problem and applied the scriptures using himself and Apollos as an example. Secondly, at the time of Paul writings, when his talks about scripture he was talking about the old testament. But now the Church has elevated Paul's letter to the status of scripture. So if we were to use your logic by extension, Paul writing should not be included as scripture but may be regarded as the tradition of men. Thirdly if I can listen when the Church says Paul writing is scripture and I should also be ready to to others things they said are from Jesus Christ. I would update this response |
Investnow2017:Garments never makes one a Catholic. It is baptism that makes you a member of the Catholic Church. |
LaaJiblik:In Saul , David's men saw a mere mortal but David saw the Lord's anointed. 1 Sam 24:6 In Mary, I don't know what you see.(Lk 7:24) But Elizabeth filled with the Holy Ghost her saw her Lord's Mother (Lk 1:43), John the beloved, by Christ injunction saw His own mother John 19:27 Christ's body, the Church filled the Holy Ghost and by Christ's injunction claims both as the Lord's Mother and Our Mother.(Rev 12:17) Here what St Jude says below Jude1:9-10But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not himself dare to condemn him for slander but said, "The Lord rebuke you!" Yet these people slander whatever they do not understand, and the very things they do understand by instinct--as irrational animals do--will destroy them. 2 Peter 2:12 These men are like irrational animals, creatures of instinct, born to be captured and destroyed. They blaspheme in matters they do not understand, and like such creatures, they too will be destroyed. All am saying is take it easy with the language |
Emyogalanya:Let me use Abraham as an example (for scripture profits for instruction,2 Timothy 3:16-17) Abraham prayed for a heir, he was promised that his descendants would be numerous. Yet when the heir came God asked for the heir to be sacrificed. This was a trial for Abraham. But He was faithful. God rewarded Abraham for His faith Now vows can be made in public or in the privacy of your room. You can tell God you won't marry or be a virgin for the sake of the Kingdom in private, and for several years as you grow older. Until the time comes for the public vow. For example Samuel ( 1Samuel 3) was in the temple from the age of 3. And when the time comes like when Samuel heard God's voice and had to go and meet Eli. And Eli explained to him that it was God calling. Staying in temple was also available to females. Remember Anna the prophetess of Lk 2: 36 Mary grew up in the temple. And when the time came she was told by her superiors (Like Eli talking to Samuel) that God's plan for her is marriage. It was a source of trial to her like that of Abraham. Remember Anna and Simeon had been in the temple for years so they knew Mary and saw her grow up. Mary obeyed but believed God is faithful. In her encounter with Angel Gabriel the Bible said she was troubled by what he was saying (Lk 1:29)not of his presence. He explained to her that the power of the Most High would do it. And she assented "Behold the handmaid of the Lord let it be done to me according to you word" And the Word was made Flesh and dwelt amongst us. John 1:14 The rest is history. She is Virgin and She is Mother. Her vow Virginity remained intact. God Almighty worked His wonders. What is most important here is for us to imitate what is beautiful. St Paul said in Phil4:9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me--put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. So somethings we can learn from Mary. 1.Faith: Having strong faith in God. 2. Submission to God's wiil. And availability to be an instrument of God. 3. Courage 4. The Angel told her , the Lord is with you, this was even before the Word was made Flesh. (Similar to what the angel told Gideon Judges 6:12) . Is the Lord with us? 5. She was full of grace as the Angel said. Are we full of grace, holiness or filled with filth, unrighteousness etc?) 6. Rejoicing with the good that happens to Our neighbor 7. Being of help to people, she remained with Elizabeth from her sixth month to her ninth month. 8.She had to be a prayerful person to be full of grace and for the Lord to be with her. Jesus was described by John as being full of grace and Truth John 1:14. Like Mother like Son 9. She ponders on God's words , do we make time for scripture reading 10. When Elizabeth filled with the Holy Ghost said how is it that the Mother my Lord would visit me. Mary glorified God in return. Peace be with you! |
Emyogalanya:That some letters or books didn't make to the Bible does not mean they are all false. John said in John21:25 Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written. But those of ages would have more resources than us. Both oral and written truths. |
Emyogalanya:The point you are missing is the purpose their marriage is to take of Jesus. Our Lord is involved here. Mary would have been stoned if she took in without a husband. Jesus would have been seen as a bastard (God forbid). Must everyone live in one room apartment? Don't we have 2bedroom apartments today? . The issue of making Mary a goddess is a lie from our and her adversary the devil. (Read Gen 3:15_and Rev12: 1-17) Have not seen how I have been magnifying the power of God (Lk 1:46) as we discuss? The glory goes to God, for He that is mighty has done great things . Check Lk 1:49 The bible used plural "great things". |
Emyogalanya:It never crept into the Church. It has always been there. My question to you brother. Is such a wonder impossible to God? Jesus who said he can even raise stones to worship Lk19:40 or Mt3:9 And do not think you can say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. Is 8:18 Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion. My dear, Nothing is impossible to God |
Emyogalanya:Not all the documents(books) made it to the Bible. Even though some of the books in bible quoted from the ones that did not make it. Example is Jude1:9 But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not himself dare to condemn him for slander but said, "The Lord rebuke you!" You would not find the above quote in book of St. Jude anywhere in the old testament but in the book of Enoch. This book didn't make it to the Bible |
Emyogalanya:Paul was referring to the Apostle James son of Alpheus also known as James the less (either because he was younger or had a smaller stature than James Son of Zebedee, who was the first of apostles to be martyred) At the foot of the cross (read Mk 15:40& John 19:25) you would were his mother (Mary of Cleopas) was said to be the Sister of the blessed Virgin Mary. The verse says Mary of Cleopas is mother of James the less and Joseph. Mt 13:55 lists the brothers of Jesus as James, Joseph, Simon and Jude. Luke 6:16 and Jude1.1 says James and Jude are brothers These are the brothers (relatives) Those who were there 300AD have letters of those who were 80AD,100AD etc to use to judge things |

Emyogalanya:You can take out time to read about the history of how we got the bible. It is good we have an idea |
Emyogalanya:Have you head of this beautiful woman Anna in Luke2:36-37. There was also a prophetess named Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher, who was well along in years. She had been married for seven years, and then was a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. |
LaaJiblik:If you choose to disrespect her, because you do not understand , then may God forgive you for you know not what you do? John the Baptist in the womb leaped for joy at the sound of her voice? Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost at the sound of her voice? Lk1:41 In her dwelt "the desired of the ages "Luke 10:24 She is blessed because she heard the word of God and kept Lk 1:45 Proverbs 31:29-31“Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her a share in the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the city gates. All generations would honour whether you like it or not Lk1:48 |
Emyogalanya:Joseph was not mentioned of in adult life of Jesus (apart from when they asked is this not the carpenter's son) so it is that the died before Jesus public ministry. So why did the relatives take her instead to their home? Let us look at the passage, note the bolded. John 19:26-27 (A book can be written on this two verses alone, I am sure many have been written) When Jesus therefore had seen his mother and the disciple standing whom he loved, he saith to his mother: Woman, behold thy son. After that, he saith to the disciple: Behold thy mother. And from that hour, the disciple took her to his own. Jesus had a special love for John, the beloved. Now Jesus was leaving, He placed her in the hands of his beloved disciple to take care of her as his mother. Also note the language Jesus used "Behold thy Mother" That is more of a declaration. Our Jesus, by giving her as a mother to John, gave her also as a mother to all who believe in him, who become children of God, and are not born of flesh and blood, or of the will of man, but of God. This is why we call her Mother Mary. Rev 12:17 And the dragon was angry against the woman: and went to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Have you asked why did all the apostle flee? Even John ran away at the Garden of Gethsemane. But was present at the Crucifixion? Have you asked why all the apostles were martyred but John died a natural death? Have why Our Jesus called his mother "Woman"? Gen 3:15, John 2:4, Rev 12:1-17 |
LaaJiblik:The question is it impossible to God? |
Emyogalanya:[/quote]The Church which is the pillar of truth (1 Timothy 3:15) told me . Same Church that approved the bible and told us believe the bible. YOU THINK MARY IS THE ONLY VIRGIN AT THAT TIME? AND WHATS THE BIG DEAL IN A VIRGIN CONCEIVING? WAIT TILL YOU HEAR ABOUT ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION. VIRGIN OR NO VIRGIN EXTRA CHILD OR NOT DOES IT REDUCE THE POWER OF CHRIST AS SAVIOUR?Does it occur to you, the mystery that happened at the Incarnation? The Word becoming Flesh? That you compare it with AI NO. WHEN MY DAD DIED WE THE CHILDREN WERE NOT AROUND SO THAT MEANS WE ARE NOT HIS CHILDREN. SO IF MY DAD CALL ANY YOUNG MAN SAYING MY SON GIVE ME WATER AND BEFORE HE CAME AROUND HE DIED IT THEN MEANS HE HAS HANDED OVER THE WHOLE HOUSE TO HIM? INCLUDING MY MUM? DID THE APOSTLE TELL YOU HE IS MOTHERLESS DO YOU EVEN KNOW THAT JESUS WAS SEEN AS ENEMY OF THE STATE AS SUCH NO ONE COULD ASSOCIATE WITH HIM. AS EVEN HIS ARMSTLES RAN AWAY EVEN IN OUR CONTEMPORARY LIFE ITS EASIER FOR WOMEN TO COME CLOSE DID YOU ALSO NOTE THAT ONLY WOMEN FOLLOWED HIM TO THE PLACE COS NO MAN COULD DARE CONFRONT SOLDIERS BUT WOMEN COULD HENCE THE ABSENSE OF HIS BROTHERSThe account written by John was written several years after the Crucifixion. John said from then He took Mary to his home. Read the account again. John 19:26-27 |
Investnow2017:Did the Isrealites ever worship the Ark of Covenant? The answer is no. Did they reverence it ? The answer is a resounding yes. Same with Catholics . Luke 1:48 All generations would call her blessed. Yes even the generation of the early Christians called her blessed. So are you among the generations that would call her blessed? If you are not , something is wrong . |
So to you it is impossible for the womb where the Holy Ghost worked wonders to be left intact, where God the Son ,He whom through all things were created (including that blessed womb), He who walked on water, who transfigured on Mount Tabor, the First and the Last, the Alpha and the Omega dwelt for nine months to be left intact? If you had the chance to create your own Mother, what wonders wont your perform? (Ex20:12"Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.) God gave clear instructions how the Ark of the Covenant was to be built Ex 25:10-22. Now what the ark contained the gold jar of manna, Aaron's staff that had budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant(Heb9:4) . You know numerous wonders that accompanied the Ark. Definitely, greater wonders would accompany the Ark not built by human hands but God's hands. Greater wonders would accompany the New Ark which was not carrying a shadow of what was to come but the fulfillment, Jesus Christ Himself. Psalm 87:3. Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Jesus dwelt in this womb for nine months, why wouldn't glorious things be spoken of her? Elizabeth in Luke1:43 said "And why am I so honored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? " The Lord has done great things to her Lk 1:49 Because he that is mighty, hath done great things to me; and holy is his name. 2 Chronicles 6:41 "Now therefore arise, O LORD God, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your might; let Your priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation and let Your godly ones rejoice in what is good. Who are you to question to Most High? |
petra1:Hi Petra, Let me start by saying I love that name Petra meaning rock for obvious reasons (St Peter). Gal 1:19 refers to the second apostle James (the less or Son of Alpheus, because it fits the description). He also the brother of Jude (Jude 1:1 and Luke 6:16) Mk 15:40 & John 19:25 Says the mother of John the less is a sister to Mary Mother of Jesus Mother. Is it not obvious that James is the brother of the Lord, a cousin is also a brother |
LaaJiblik:Why was the conception not before he betrothed her if she and Jesus (in the womb) were not in need of protection? So you are saying Jesus and Mary should have been killed by stoning? So to you it is impossible for womb where the Holy Ghost worked wonders to be left intact, where God the Son ,He whom through all things were created (including that blessed womb), He who walked on water, who transfigured on Mount Tabor, the First and the Last, the Alpha and the Omega dwelt for nine months to be left intact? Mt1:19-20 19Because Joseph her husband, a righteous man, was unwilling to disgrace her publicly, he resolved to divorce her quietly. 20But after he had pondered these things, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the One conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. |
Emyogalanya:And it is reasonable to you that a Virgin would conceive? And it reasonable to you that a Son would give His mother to another person to take care off while He has blood brothers? And in Hosea 1:2 it reasonable that God would tell a prophet to marry a prostitute? The ways of God are not ours, Is 55:8 This the summary if you want take it or leave it. Mary(and Joseph) had taken vows to be Virgins for the sake of the Kingdom, but God directed through various means for them to get married. The purpose was for the Blessed Virgin Mary to be Mother Jesus, and Joseph to be his guardian and protector of the Mary. " Protestant Reformers themselves—Martin Luther, John Calvin, and Ulrich Zwingli believed Mary was perpetually a Virgin" The Church Fathers believed same. Councils that approved the bible to be the inspired Word of God did not have problem with the teaching . But those who have lost the oral tradition of Christianity believe something else . Goodluck to them. Haven't you heard Christ say people can chose to be Eunuchs (Virgins) for the Kingdom of God(Mt 19:12)? And where does the Bible say something must be explicitly written (Sola Scriptura)? Rather Jesus told His apostles he who hears you hears me (Lk 10:16),and in another place he said "go and preach to the world" (Mk 16:15 & Mt 28:19)(not go and write to the world, writing is part of communication not all of communication) . Mk 16:15 And he said to them: Go ye into the whole world, and preach the gospel to every creature. And Paul said in another place whatever you hear from me in Word or in Writing (Phil 4:9), Philippians 4:9New International Version (NIV) 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. And 2Tim 2:2 And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. The point here is that Christian Tradition does not subsist in what is written alone but includes oral handing over of the message to the next generation and the council of the Apostles(Acts 15 the first council of the Church). The canon of the Bible was accepted over 300AD in one of such councils of the Church. Now those who lost the oral part of Christian Tradition preach Sola Scriptura (Scripture alone). If writing(the written word of God) which is important is the only source of Jesus words. Jesus won't say who ever hears you hears me Lk(10:16). And John 21:25 would not allude to the fact that everything is not written in the bible. How many of the Twelve apostles wrote books (of course we wish they did). Now food for thought (John 19:26-27) When Jesus therefore had seen his mother and the disciple standing whom he loved, he saith to his mother: Woman, behold thy son. and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home. Could Jesus take his mother and give to John, if he was not the only Child? Remember this is the Gospel of John, so John is saying that from that time on (not temporarily), he took Mary now His Mother to his home. |

Emyogalanya:Where did your see that celibate people live away from the people? Have you not heard that St Paul was a celibate?1Cor 7 Secondly, in Mt 19:12, Our Lord identified 3 types of Eunuchs Mt 19:12 For there are eunuchs who were born that way(1st type), and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others--(2nd type) and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven( 3rd type). You are referring to the 1st or 2nd type. I am referring to the 3rd type of Eunuchs |
Emyogalanya:My dear, thanks for the correction. The verse is Mt 19:12 not Mt 19:22. Eunuch for the same of the Kingdom is different from Celibacy? What makes them different? The issue discussed here is if Mary had other Children. Mary is not God, there is the worship that belongs to God alone called "Latria". You can google that to know the meaning . What the Church gives Mary is called "Hyperdulia", and to the saints "dulia". Mary is a creature of God. Now food for thought (John 19:26-27) When Jesus therefore had seen his mother and the disciple standing whom he loved, he saith to his mother: Woman, behold thy son. and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." LaaJiblik:You seem so fascinated with sex and don't think people can give it up as Jesus acknowledged that people do. And as I have pointed out Virgins have their unique blessing |
