@Jejebaba, I really understand your view point and the uncertainties surrounding your decision.
I think you should consider doing a short landing with the family and then return back to work.
Another option, is relocating with the family to Canada and flying to UAE for some shifts if possible, while applying for similar roles in Canada and observing the outcome.
I think Canada will be nice for the kids and your wife who is into IT as there seems to be high demand for IT professionals currently.
You really need to maximize the opportunities available right now to you and your family.

Good day all,

Please I need some advice as to the best way to change money from naira to Canadaian dollars.

-Is it possible to open a bank account with a bank in canada from Nigeria and what is the best way to transfer funds into the account?

- Alternatively, I have a UK bank account, but I am worried that using that account/card in canada will attract some extra charges...

-I don't know if opening a dorm account in Nigeria will be OK. But I am also not comfortable with that as I think Nigerian banks charge a lot for transactions

Any suggestions from those who have successfully moved their cash from Nigeria?

Hi Damilola 1978,
I used zenith bank for my proof of funds. I was charged 2100 for the reference letter and I believe 100 Naira for each page in my statement of account. I didn't get a separate letter of non- Indebtedness. Good luck with your application.

Thanks bro.... I will call my account manager to find out more smiley
sammily:

Yes you can buy treasury bills from Zenith bank or any other bank but you will have to have an account in the bank you intend to use. Your assumption of FBN and IBTC being better in treasury bills is correct based on my own personal experience.
Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by MostBlessed: 9:24am On Sep 11, 2017
Greetings to all forum members,

Please I am new to Treasury bills and very much interested in investing in it.

I would like to know if I can purchase treasury bills in Zenith bank as l have an account with them and I currently reside in Benin-city.

In 2015, I once tried purchasing NTB from a first bank branch, Ekehuan road branch in Benin-city, but the then branch manager swayed me into putting the cash in a fixed deposit account which I regret doing.

From previous posts I read, it appears like Stanbic ibtc bank and first bank are better for treasury bills investment. Is it possible for me to purchase treasury bills in any of these banks with my Zenith bank account, or is it compulsory I use a first bank account or stanbic ibtc bank account.
Also, does anyone have any idea of a first bank branch in Benin-city where I can purchase treasury bills.

Many Thanks!!

February 21st AOR.... Currently 181 days waiting. Last information gotten 21st June file was transferred to London visa office awaiting review by an officer. What a wait, quite exhaustive and disappointing.

Wow... Congrats to all those who recently received PPR mails.... Quite fast!! Hopefully we'll all meet in canada in Jesus name.
CIC is giving those of us whose application has been transferred to London a long terrible wait, appears London visa office is very slow.
Below is my time line ;
AOR:February 21ST FSW-O Applicant
Medical passed : April 8th
Background check :NA April 26th till date (155 days post ITA)

Sent a mail to CIC last month was told my file was on queue awaiting review by an agent. Ordered GCMS notes this month, expecting to get it middle of next month.
Its a long wait,Pre ITA and post ITA but I pray this will end in praise to God for all...

Also pray all naija files go to Ghana or other places where they are quickly processed....AMEN!!

Many thanks Triv. Tried paying for gcms notes earlier with my Zenith/first bank naira master cards on getgcms.com but no success. I guess I will need a foreign card to request gcms notes also... I hope this week has better luck for us Bro. Happy Sunday mate!!

Hi Triv, Thanks for your prompt reply. I am also interested in getting them, but I think it is not possible to order from Nigeria. I think it is only available to people in canada. We will need to have a Canadian contact, and also fill a consent form for the contact to be granted access to apply on our behalf . The wait period is really unbearable& having no clue as to why ... .. OMG!!

Hello Triv, my case is same as yours. AOR: February 21, Medical passed and background stuck on NA since April 28. I think the problem we have is the security check. The wait is really internally killing. Please, how do you intend to request for GCMS notes?
Triv:
Hello people, please is there anyone here that has received PPR mail with AOR in February? This wait is killing, the only update I have is medicals passed and my BG moved to NA in April and since then no movement at all.

Hi Obitee69,
You can apply as the primary applicant with the required work experience, then your wife as the accompanying spouse will have to write IELTS exams and evaluate her qualifications to support. You do not lose any points if accompanying spouse has no work experience.
obitee69:
Pls folks kindly advice. I currently have over 4years experience in the bank but my wife is a fresh grad. Does it matter if we both submit our application as FSW?

Congrats to fellow members who have received ITA.

@Dupsyshoo, vcole, Jesus Dway... and other experienced members/ friends , I received an ITA with the score of 462, my birthday is coming up on the 2nd of February and that means my score will drop to 457 (which is below 459 which was the cutoff) . Does this mean I have to submit my application online before my birthday or my birthday will not affect the application as I already have ITA ?
Please, I really need to know because I am working in a remote field location and scheduled be out after my birthday....

Greeting to all elders and forum members,

Please I am interested in applying for a re-evaluation of my IELTS speaking test but I am not sure of the best way to go about it.
The website says go to the test center and request for an enquiry on results form
but my test was done in CONSTANTIAL HOTEL IN BENIN-CITY which is a center rented by IELTS on test days.
How do I apply for the Enquiry on result form in Benin-city or do I have to travel to Lagos or Abuja?

Any guide/ advice from any member of the forum is highly welcomed

Thanks in anticipation

Greetings to all ancestors in the house,@ Jesusdway, Solomonwis, Zandora.......

I need your advice urgently on the next action to take.
I just retook the IELTS test in Nigeria on OCt 8th.

My results are:

Listening: 8
Reading: 7
Writing: 7
Speaking: 6.5

I want to challenge my speaking test result as I am fully confident I put in a good performance on the speaking test.

Kindly advice If this is worth taking a chance on....
cos 40,000 naira nor be play at all+ study time is also valuable and rarely available.......!!

Thanks!

Greetings to all members in the house.

I need advice from d elites and elders(Jesusdway, Solomonwise, Damkole.........)

I have an Msc in Petroleum Engineering( Evaluated by WES) and a Bsc in Mechanical Engineering( Not evaluated by WES)
I am interested in using my Bsc, Mech Engr. to apply for SINP, even though it has not been evaluated by WES
Could this be a problem as it is not evaluated (i.e. not the highest qualification)
Travel / Re: Canadian Federal Skilled Worker Program-timelines Here by MostBlessed: 9:19pm On Jun 07, 2015
JesusDWay:

His concerns are justified actually. In my opinion, Ontario chose to make the process of their EE PNP less cumbersome by choosing all those with 400 and above to apply and has also stipulated an application fee of 1500CDN, apart from the RPRF of 490, which is highly unprecedented. Those criteria has helped eliminated lot of potential applicants. Now, the slots are limited and they may possibly shortlist those whose professions are in-demand in the province hence, his concerns. Imagine throwing away 1500dollars at the end of the day, plus the potential disadvantage applying to a PNP seems to have when you are applying to another province as some like MPNP will give you a lesser chance if you indicated you have applied to another province.

My advice is for him to check Saskatchewan's new list of occupation in-demand, he might be better suited for that and i'm almost certain they wont ask for money or at best, not like that kind of huge amount like Ontario. Guess Ontario want's to copy Australia with this money thing

Thanks Jesusdway for this detailed analysis......I really appreciate your advice as I believe Saskatchewan, Alberta or British Columbia will be my best bets. God bless!!
