sinistermind:Dude calm down... It's because of this way of thinking that when Nigerians are pushed to the wall, instead of fighting back, they push the wall down. Those who dare to say no, have won and are still winning big cases against these companies. Decide today to always fight for your rights else you will live a life of perpetual marginalization, and everyone will trample on you. Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday ordered Senator Eyninnaya Abaribe, and two others standing as sureties for the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, to explain the IPOB leader’s whereabouts. Kanu who was granted bail by the judge on April 24, 2017, was absent from court on Tuesday when his trial was billed to commence. But his three co-defendants were produced in court by prison officials. Kanu’s lawyer, Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, told the judge that Kanu had been missing after soldiers allegedly invaded the IPOB leader’s home on September 14, 2017, adding that the Nigerian Army was in the best position to produce the defendant. A lawyer, Mr. Ogechi Ogunna, appeared for Abaribe on Tuesday, informing the judge that his client had filed a motion seeking to be discharged as Kanu’s surety. The two other sureties, Immanuel Shalum Okabenmabu and Tochukwu Uchendu, were absent from court and not represented by any lawyer on Tuesday. But Justice Nyako said Abaribe’s motion could not be heard until Kanu was produced in court. The judge gave the senator three options. One of the options was for Abaribe to produce the defendant in court and then apply to be discharged as a surety. The other option the judge gave was for Abaribe to be ready to forfeit his N100m bail bond. The third option was for Abaribe to request to be given time to produce the defendant in court. But Ogunna replied saying, “he (Abaribe) is not in a position to do any of these.” However the judge insisted that Abaribe must opt for one of the three options. With the judge’s insistence, Ogunna opted to be given time to produce him. The two other sureties were not represented I court on Tuesday. Earlier, prosecuting counsel, Mr. Shuaibu Labaran, noting that Kanu was not present in court, urged the judge to revoke defendant’s bail, order for his arrest, and direct the defendants’ three sureties “to show cause why the bail bond of N100m entered into by each shall not be forfeited or they be committed to prison.” The trial was been adjourned until November 20. "Nigerian roads" huh? I don't think roads in major cities have gotten that bad yet...and I don't see much rural dwellers with the financial strength to get this. Soon, we'ld be using bulldozer tracks on our cars I guess. |
spacetacular:You "read the website" huh? Interesting. Actually just wanted you to read the referenced writeup FROM THE WEBSITE. Assuming without conceding, that you did "read the website", I really wonder why you still came up with the conclusion that everything was "word for word". |
spacetacular:Fixed. Thanks for the correction. BTW, maybe if you had cared to take a look at the website, then you'ld have noticed that it actually wasn't copied "word for word". |
So I came across this piece. Looks strangely very true to me. What do you guys think? A group of scientists placed 5 monkeys in a cage and placed in the middle, a ladder with bananas on the top. Every time a monkey went up the ladder, the scientists soaked the rest of the monkeys with cold water, which they hated. After a while, every time a monkey went up the ladder, the others beat up the one on the ladder so they wouldn't get soaked with water. After some time, no monkey dared to go up the ladder regardless of the temptation for the fear of being beaten. The Scientists then decided to substitute one of the monkeys and bring in a new monkey. The 1st thing this new monkey did was to go up the ladder to get the banana. Immediately the other monkeys beat him up. After several beatings, the new member learned not to climb the ladder even though he never knew why. A 2nd monkey from d original ones was substituted and a new monkey brought in. the same thing occurred. He climbed to get the banana. The 1st new monkey that was earlier beaten for trying to get the bananas, participated in the beating of the 2nd new monkey even though he didn't know why he was beating the new one. He did so because others were doing same. A 3rd monkey was changed and the same was repeated (beating). The 4th was substituted and the beating was repeated. Finally, the 5th monkey was replaced. What was left was a group of 5 monkeys that even though never received a cold shower, continued to beat up any monkey who attempted to climb the ladder. If it was possible to ask the monkeys why they would beat up all those who attempted to go up the ladder ... I bet you the answer would be ... "I don't know — that's how things are done around here" DO their actions LOOK familiar? Mallamkay001:Can you PDP guys Just for once take responsibility for ruining your Party after 16 years of reckless looting? Blaming the APC? Same APC that is made up of so many Former PDP members? Dfinex:Actually, its about the number of marriageable males. More males are given birth to, but as they grow up, the fatality rate is higher amongst males for obvious reasons, so the number of marriageable ladies are more while we have more male kids...even amongst the lesser marriageable males, many do not want to marry because of the economic situation. Try browsing an analysis of Nigeria's population by ages of each gender and how many they are, and you'll see the cause of the problem. P.S take note of the percentage of males to females in the age region of 20-39.

ellacute45:Of course you won't understand it. What was I even thinking attempting to explain it to you OK, go now, go continue watching your telenovas |
ellacute45:What is this one saying? So blackmail is a crime in Nigeria but Lesbianism isn't? Don't let me suspect you o. Let me try to explain it in a language even you might understand. Saying her blackmailers have been arrested so she should be left alone is like saying I paid you to kidnapped somebody, and went on to video you in the process of kidnapping the person, after which I started using the video to extort money from you. That is blackmail right? Agreed. But does the fact that you are being blackmailed to part with money now exonerate you from the fact that you committed a crime by kidnapping somebody? Absolutely not. You understand now? |
Lukenitheooo6:More accurately, 14 years, not 17. Seriously, I wonder why a rapist should be condemned and stoned, while she should be "forgiven". A crime remains a crime. |
Note: this is just for academic argument, and in no way intended to add more controversy to all that has happened already. Much has been said about the sex videos allegedly showing Miss Chidinma okeke in action with another lady. While some believe she is being framed and that she isn't really the person in the video, others believe that the video could not have been manipulated, so she should be arrested and dealt with accordingly. Firstly, Miss Chidinma debunked the video as a mere videoshop, but then people close to her came to accept that it really was her, but that she deserves forgiveness. Later on, blackmail was alleged, and a press conference cancelled because of alleged threats... Then came the news that the alleged blackmailers have been arrested, and it was indeed a video from way back in 100L, thus accepting that it indeed was Miss Chidinma in the video which she previously denied. Care must be taken to note that those who admit that it really was her, but in support of her, try to make everyone believe that the video was from way back. This is no coincidence, as it clearly portrays legal minds at work. Lost? OK here is the thing. The law that criminalizes the act of lesbianism in Nigeria, is the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act 2013. A law takes effect from the day it was signed, so if her camp can establish that the video was indeed taken before the law came into force, then she walks away. I don't know if she still claims that she was not the person in the video, but if it indeed was her, two questions will arise. Was it done before the bill was passed into law, or after? If after, then those calling for forgiveness have no point. Why? Because, a sin can be forgiven, but a crime cannot; unless of course a prerogative of mercy after conviction. A robber or a rapist is not Just "forgiven", and that is because they are crimes, but so is Lesbianism in Nigeria today; A CRIME. Not just something you're warned against and set free when there is sufficient evidence incriminating you. I've read comments from people saying those calling for her to be punished are hypocrites because they have also sinned, but here is something to think about - If It is not hypocrisy for people to call for imprisonment of rapists, then why is it hypocrisy for those calling for the imprisonment of a Lesbian? THEY ARE BOTH CRIMES remember? Many people are not happy about the anti-gay Law in force, but for now, it is the law. Maybe someday, it will be repealed; maybe not, but until it is repealed, it is punishable. Let this serve as a lesson to everyone... Think about the possible repercussions for your actions before acting. My opinion.

Pageants everywhere. Not surprising considering the amount of lazy make up dolls that constitute the bulk of our ladies... Free money with no desire to work hard for it. When the videos emerge, someone will come here to preach in support of them. Commit the crime, do the time. Waiting patiently for more videos. |
