daveP: Fact is we need Ethan in the middle than Kai in the middle. At the same time, I don't want to see Kai at Saka Wing. We better just buy this January. Fulham, Everton, Bournemouth, against the top 6 have been impressive this season. But Forest doubling last season points to be in top 4 is most impressive after this 18games.
Iwobi will always continue to shine in any Chelsea game. Kai just dey give you headache. Iwobi? You noticed he always up his game against Chelsea? I thought na only me sha. Maybe because of what Chelsea did to his brothers (Omeruo and Aina). BTW, na ungratefulness dey make us complain about Martinelli. I watched Doku yesterday and I almost switched off my phone. |

Spy360: I believe Nwaneri can play RW. He is not afraid to take his man 1v1, he has pace, positional awareness and he is also a good finisher. He can develop himself into an excellent backup player for the two most important attacking players we have in Saka and Odegaard. That would be worth up to 100m in savings for the club.
If it doesn't work out, it's best we make use of the transfer window now. I hear Mbeumo is being talked to. That would be a very good option. These two months Saka would be likely out can make or mar our season. You're right. Nwaneri should man that position to Saka is back. |

DeeScan: the goals we conceded yday was generally the players being too relaxed that they have won the game. it wasn't necessarily defence .. we reduced intensity after the 5th goal and sort of playing carelessly without bother underestimating spurs. you can see after the 3rd goal from spurs, we sort of woke up again ...but you're right though. if the likes of Vvd goes out as he's the only solid pne on that back for now . the rest are 50/50 .. we gonna suffer conceding much goals but we would as well score much of it too .. You are spot on. Your players were too relaxed. Immediately Spurs scored the third, you increase the tempo and knocked them out with the sixth goal. I just knew no way Spurs was winning that match yesterday especially with that backline and most importantly the record. I think Liverpool have lost just 2 out of the last 17 matches against Spurs. |

Arsenal have scored the most goals from corners this season but the only idea you came come up with is to leave three players at the midline whenever Arsenal wants to take a corner kick.

I will take Sane on loan in January especially with Saka's latest injury. And there is this PSV boy, Bakayoko. I won't mind having him on loan. The issue now is striker. It will be hard. Maybe we can give Juventus Kiwior and get Vlahovic on loan. |

I need more clean sheets though.
This Merino sef. Nothing significant since his goal vs Liverpool. If Rice and Cali build more on that Chemistry on that LHS, i go happy wella. Leave Merino alone.... He is winning duel Personally, I would still give him time. You must be something special if you're playing in midfield for Spanish national team. |

Antonio and Mateta are of the same breed. I don't usually worry much about them because they're not prolific goalscorers but sometimes their back-to-goal playmaking may pave way for their fellow teammates. I wonder what Arteta smoked on Wednesday fielding Kiwior and Timber as CBs. |

🔵🔴With two rounds remaining in the Champions League group stage, here's an explanation of the knockout round draw in the new system...
➡️The draw will be seeded, not random; and of course, the top 8 teams will directly qualify for the Round of 16.
◾The play-off draw will be as follows:
▪️Teams ranked 9th to 24th will enter this stage. ▪️The 9th and 10th place teams will face the 23rd and 24th place teams. ▪️The 11th and 12th place teams will face the 21st and 22nd place teams. ▪️The 13th and 14th place teams will face the 19th and 20th place teams. ▪️The 15th and 16th place teams will face the 17th and 18th place teams. 👈The return leg will be played at the home of the higher-ranked team.
◾The Round of 16 draw will be as follows:
▪️The 1st and 2nd place teams in the league will face the two winners from the (15th & 16th vs. 17th & 18th) matchups via a draw. ▪️The 3rd and 4th place teams will face the two winners from the (13th & 14th vs. 19th & 20th) matchups, and so on. 👈The return leg will always be played at the home of the higher-ranked team.
💥Under this system, the team in 1st place in the league cannot face the team in 2nd place unless they both reach the final, and the 1st place team will not face the 3rd and 4th place teams until the semifinals.
◾In short, the higher your rank, the more favorable the draw possibilities will be for you.

Akinbahm: Bro, the only pass Arteta is getting from my end is his "inexperience" Conte handling Arsenal of season'23 would secure league for us and Tuchel handling Arsenal in season'24 UCL would take us to semi-final and or Final.
As Tuchel some might disagree cause of his stunt with Bayern last season I'll let go cause of Kane curse
Sorry for digressing, if I'll go hard on Arteta all his tinker here and there affected us a bit but on the good side he maximize it to experiment his cross and nod style, corner and free kicks, trying to tweak players positions etc but his undoing while doing all these is Agidi (stubbornness). Well, the Conte and Tuchel examples are still subjective. I still think the narrative of Arteta being stubborn is too overstated mostly by fans who think they know better than the coach. He has his weaknesses sha, I won't deny that. |

Akinbahm: My bro, the earlier you start living with it the better your mind be at rest.
Arteta won't get that poacher, this time last season we all wail tirelessly concerning striker but guess what happened at the end we scored the most goals in Epl bar Citeh and even tally with invisible goals with a prolific striker... that is valid enough to look away from buying a striker, that's why I so much despise stats cause it doesn't tell the true story. Where have you been? Maybe he will listen to you. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by mostob(m): 6:45pm On Dec 19, 2024 |
Akinbahm: Thanks man... Arteta using mind game I hope it succeed at the end. Pep has been using it and he succeeded cause how will a team be in 3rd and still ended up winning league with 6-8 points adrift with table leader, still can't wrap my head up over last season.
19 more games to end of season'24 Arteta "17 wins 1 draw and 1 loss" Pep "18 wins 1 draw 0 loss So, 52 points out of possible 57 is not enough to secure Epl... Season '25 he should sha secure the whole 57 points abegi. You noticed it too? well, Idon't think it is a mind game. A combination of red cards, injury and poor performance have been responsible for our slump in form. |
