He even said that the part time coach would use the international break to coach the national team... Lol... During international breaks, most coaches organize training sessions for their players who aren't on international duty, especially academy players..
No serious country would employ that kind of method..

Look at our men's basketball team.. we have Mike Brown as the head coach, yet the last time he coached the team was during the Afrobasket .. man is busy getting the Kings to the playoff and leaving the task of coaching the team to the local coaches who have placed us in am almost impossible situation with regard to qualifying for the next world cup
Many don't realize that working as a national team coach is not just limited to international breaks alone. You still have other duties and responsibilities irrespective of whether there is international break or not. You can visit the players to check their progress in their respective teams, You can draw up a plan, refresh your tactics and others.
Part-time coach for a national team is nonsense IMO.

First I never insisted it must be Mourinho. Read very well before you add your contribution. I used him as an example.

Secondly, travelling from the UK to Nigeria takes only 6 hours, and there are lots of options. This is 21st century where flying is like taking a bus. Rohr was not based in Nigeria. Peseiro and Randy are not based in Nigeria. How many international breaks are there in a season? You talking like he's gotta be travelling every weekend or so.
You mentioned Mourinho as an example and I used him to counter your stance so...

Rohr and Peseiro are full time coach compared to Mourinho who is managing a club already.
Randy who is a part-time coach, we know how it is going for him.
Your opinion of part-time coach won't work bro

Haba!!!
I have explained even before Jesus became injured why he doesn't get on the score sheet often.

I also correctly predicted that a striker like Nketiah if given the opportunity will score more goals.

I gave the reason as Jesus not staying in the box. I also brought up heat maps (which you denied in your post) to explain how Jesus gets over involved in buildup and hence doesn't have enough time and composure to be at the finishing end.

Note again, I correctly predicted that if Nketiah gets the chance he will score more goals because he will always be in the box.

You can't deny this.

Does that mean Nketiah is more productive than Jesus?
This was your response Spy grin grin
Nothing like clinical here. You repeatedly emphasis on staying in the box.

Jodera:
The only difference Nketiah is scoring more than others is because he's converting his chances(as he obviously gets more chances than our other attackers— just like Jesus)

I once explained here (with stats) how Jesus ought to be among the highest goalscorer in the league because of the high quality of chances he gets. He always underperforms his xG and has the highest big chances in the league before his injury but since he doesn't convert them, most people erroneously thought he doesn't receive them.

Now Nketiah converts more than him and you now think it's limiting others. Mind you Martinelli and Saka both scored against Westham and Brighton. While Odegaard scored in both Tottenham and Brighton too. Now Saka have scored against Man u again (all post world cup)

What does it means? It simply means Nketiah scoring doesn't stop others from scoring. Same thing I was always saying then that others scoring doesn't stop Jesus from scoring but obviously, he wasn't converting his chances like Nketiah. (I remember spamming here with pictures of almost all his big chances missed)

There's a reason you can't prove all your claims with stats or analytical explanations.
Here Spy

If this question in the bolded is in relation to Gabriel Jesus (as informed by the last paragraph) then I can't answer as I have always claimed that GJ is better and even more clinical.
Jodera should answer the question because he was the one who claimed that Nketiah is scoring more goals simply because he is more clinical than GJ.

If the question is seeking an opinion without comparison to GJ, then it's because Nketiah is not suited (yet) to playing against a low block. The same reason has affected all our attackers. Yesterday he was competing for aerial balls with Konsa and Mings who are taller than him. Against City he had no space to run into, and missed two headers. He refers to run into balls or to tap in. He is not as clinical as GJ.
Lol Spy.... there's a reason I quoted the posts above again. According to you, Gabriel Jesus run around too much and by the time he arrived inside the box, he will not have the required composure to score. You didn't bring anything relating to clinicality to your argument.

It was Jodera that brought the number of shots taken, big chances missed and other stats to show you that Jesus was just not clinical enough and not that he lacks composure.

The question Jodera asked is why has Nketiah not scored in the last 4 games or so despite the fact that he do stay inside the box according to you?

Remember we sighted clinicality as the sole reason why Jesus was not scoring but you didn't agree.

I agree that Jesus could have made a difference in the game against Newcastle because of his ability and willingness to create overloads in every area of the pitch thus giving the team a man advantage every time we have the ball.

That's a testimony of how hardworking the player is. That's the job of the playmaker. I have noticed that Odegaard positions himself on one area of the middle while Jesus does the play making on the other side- like having two playmakers and no strikers. If probably that's what Arteta demands from him. It's OK. But if not then it is not OK especially for him as a forward player. Playing forward means his primary goal is to score goals. So if he isn't focused on that it means he is deliberately sacrificing self glory for the good of the team. I hope the sacrifices would be seen when stats (like the ones you have posted- maligning him) are read out.

Yes he does receive the ball in the box, but that's after running all the way from the middle line where he himself have contributed to the buildup. What happens next is that he is no longer in the right composure for a neat finish. This is one area you have not gotten yet. Everyone including himself may feel he should be able to deal with it. May be you feel that good finishing does not require mind and body to be correctly sync, but that's what it is. This is why most strikers like Nketiah, Haaland etc who are focused on goals try to avoid getting too much involved in the buildup. I have used heat maps to clarify this fact.

So if scoring goals really is a desire for GJ, then it is either he focuses more on making goalscoring runs, and positioning or he finds a way to work on himself to be able to compose himself so as to finish off chances. This is a tall order

My grouse with you is concluding that GJ is not clinical without finding out the reason.

Strikers who are good goal scorers don't just become less clinical, something usually is responsible. Either it is psychological or mental pressure. None of this can be said to be affecting GJ.
Another one

No.

How many goals have Martinelli, Xhaka, Saka scored after the WC compared to when Jesus was playing?

When Jesus was available, the goals were evenly spread (which includes Jesus offcourse). FFS even Xhaka was getting on the score sheets. I said the reason is because Jesus always drops deep to create overloads everywhere on the pitch, and always giving us a man advantage thereby freeing up others to make goal scoring runs. Everyone praised his energy.

I also said if another striker was involved who will not play/sacrifice himself but would focus more on scoring he would score more goals than Jesus.

To prove my analysis I predicted that Nketiah if given the chance would score more goals. It is happening now, I expect you to apologize and appreciate my tactical ingenuity.

If Vieira had made that pass too early, That Villa player might get to the ball before Martinelli. If he had made the pass later, Martinelli would have entered the offside position.

Contracts don't work that way. If he isn't working well, of course the NFF is at liberty to fire him. They only need to deal with the consequences of that per what the contract says.

The "use poor result" angle becomes valid, again if it is a clause included in the contract else it isn't enforceable. The other part is if Randy out of the magnanimity of his heart decides to call it quit and cuts the NFF some slack, but that will be his decision to make. Every boils down to the fine prints.
We're still saying the same thing. We can persuade him to resign mutually or use the 'poor results' clause if it was included in the contract. I just want the man out.

Having younger players means more stamina and pressing from the super falcons even though the coach does not know how to coach the younger players might make his game better.

Oga Basco, what if the team divides? Onome Ebi as the player coach will even be tougher not to talk of Okobi.
An ideal player coach should be someone the team respect and look up to and IMO, Okobi and Ebi is neither of both.

Again, it boils down to the terms of his contract (The NFF's contract with coaches during Amaju's tenure are sadly shrouded in secrecy).
We can do that on mutual agreement. I'm not a lawyer but I believe we can use the 'poor results' card.
Since you're not producing result, resign or step down.
