Jodera: We should go full pressing but we should be wary of their counter and be mindful of our highline esp If they stick with the new formation they used on Tues. Our game is a pressing game and we're brimming with confidence so I'm expecting more of the same with a few tactical tweaks I think after that United game, our highline has sort of changed. I noticed it against the Spurs. Gabriel being the farther of the two CBs. |

Jodera: My mind is telling me that it might just be precaution for Thiago and that he'll be available tomorrow but it'll be a good booster for us if he won't be available. Also, I don't think Robertson will be available tomorrow, hopefully it'll be next week for them. So If he isn't available (90% unavailable), I'm sure Saka would find Tsimikas more favourable.
We just needs to be decisive and ruthless tomorrow. 2-1 or 3-1 I'm predicting sha Oh..Never knew Robertson is injured. And yea...maybe Thiago is just a precaution. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by mostob(m): 5:29pm On Oct 08, 2022 |
Thiago didn't train according to rumours. That is a little let-off for me. If he didn't make the team, Bobby or Jota comes in Midfield which will seriously affect the Liverpool team.
I'm concerned about Salah though but if Martinelli can bring his A-game, that should automatically neutralize Salah's threat. White already faced Son and Zaha this season so I expect him not to have any problem with Diaz.
Saka vs Robertson will be tricky...if only Ode has the decisiveness and versatility of Vieira.
All I all, our past records against them is giving me this negative vibe but our form and the fact that we have our main squad fully fit is giving me positive vibes. Lemme predict a narrow lead (or narrow loss) for Arsenal.
1-0 or 2-1 |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by mostob(m): 5:19pm On Oct 08, 2022 |
Jodera: The game against Liverpool is much more than the physical one, it also includes the mental challenge. It's been long we won/drew against Liverpool in the league and last season is even one of the worst where out of 4 meetings we couldn't even score a goal.
The good thing is that as long as we're all fit (which I believe we are), we are very very better than last season and previous seasons in terms of skillset, personnel, confidence and most importantly mentality. Tomorrow won't be a work in the park certainly but I believe these boys will give a very very good showing.
Second leg against Man city and Liverpool last season elevated the confidence I had in this team and it's undeniably clear how much we've improved from last season. Arsenal fans who followed our games consistently from last year December know the kind of good football we played during those times till May. It wasn't a surprise seeing us go a notch higher this season with this displays we've been performing this season when you factor in the quality new signings included(Saliba included)
I believe the boys can do it.
COYG!! Hit them in the counter or go with full pressing? Which tactic would you employ? |

TheGoodJoe: Rodri is giving us a masterclass in what I term Creative Defensive Midfield play. I might be exaggerating but I think this is the best I have seen Rodri display.
I hope Ndidi gets this tape and studies Rodri like a Medical Student preparing for an Oral Exam.
Lessons For Ndidi: 1. Translate his work rate from just being defensive to an offensive one. That is, work very hard for your team when in possession by getting into pockets of spaces in the midfield to receive passes. Helps promote fluidity.
2. Keep your passes simple as much as possible. The easiest pass to make is usually the best option.
3. Watch out for players in the offensive third in space. A smooth pass to them can break the opposition defense line.
4. Keep watching out for opposition possible threats to help win the ball and maximise defenses work rate. Apt. DM101: Modern Concept of Defending midfield. |

TheSuperNerd: Oh shut up you Ignorant old brat. Trying so hard to digress from the point of discussion.
You deliberately qualified Bellingham as Arguably the Best MF on the planet and was called out on that outrageous stance only for you to backtrack pretentiously claiming error in the omission of "Young".
Your knack to IGNORANTLY AND RIDICULOUSLY talk up anything "English" is well documented in here so need for all this silly shalaye from your Baby Analytical fingers.
I know I have always been your number 1 menace in here. I practically make you squirm.

Honestly, dude... you should know when to REST IT AND SHUT IT. And allow the real "Knowledgeable" adults do the talking.
So yes, I know... while you DON'T. Rest!!! Whether he added young or not, the arguably in his sentence already made it valid. Maybe you should consult your dictionary. |

TheSuperNerd: Jude Bellingham isn't "arguably" the best MF in the world. Not even close.
Best MFs in the world right now? We have several ahead of him. So whether Arguably or Unarguably, he doesn't get a mention for now.
Bellingham isn't even the best young midfielder in the world. That title belongs to Pedri.
Get your head out of the Queen's ass. She's dead already!!! The arguably made his sentence valid even though Pedri and Musiala are far ahead. So dear Prof, there is nothing wrong in what he said. |

lovewins: Yes, the NFF did allude there were visa issues for some players. Not sure where I saw that now but I did see it. Didn't border to screenshot it as I was convinced it was gonna be resolved as Japan isn't the USA. Can't speak to the specifics of why these players couldn't make it, but the general assumption is logistical issues. But whatever the issue is, this isn't the way to build. These friendlies are the only thing that will prepare us for the world cup as there isn't any competition before then. So far we've played ALL our friendlies with and incomplete team and a different team each time. Ok.... |

Deltamani: Regina Otu and Yewande Balogun are playing for same Club, seems they couldn’t get their Visas. I’m not certain though as Chiamaka Nnadozie came from France earlier on…
Again the List came out early enough to avoid all this, and before the list is made public the Coach reach out to the players first before the list gets to NFF to process invitations.. I still think some of them failed to show up aside visa issue. Maybe some are not being given chance. Just saying... How many times has Yewande been called up yet she didn't get a minute. Just saying though. |
