The earlier Arteta starts seeing Tierney and Partey as backups, the better.

I think we hv good DMs in ndidi, bonke,Onyeka and upcoming onyedika. Also I believe with time Lesley ugochukwu will rescind his decision and play for us

The cb position is my biggest worry and it’s high time the likes trio of omeruo, ekong and balogun are allowed to concentrate on their club careers

Celtic’s osaze, ozonwafor, elche’s new boy, akpoguma and ndah should be given more chance to stake a claim in the cb positions. Bassey already na untouchable and also it won’t be bad approaching torunarigha again
I agree with your choices.

Bonke is okay

We have never depended on bonke ,bonke was never a starter ,he is a good squad player ,so I don’t get where the depend is coming from
I didn't say Bonke is not ok. The problem I have with him is how he usually get injured during match. This is like the second time now.

Lookman with his FB being Aina, Chukwueze with his FB being Bassey

Loads of crossed and cutbacks. Everywhere don good be that
Then Iwobi and Aribo flanking Ndidi as double 8s. Iwobi as a DLP, Aribo playing closer to the box...
Osimehn leading the line too cheesy
Seriously, naija team ain't bad. Our problem is coaching

We need new wingers too...I don't know what is wrong with Simon. Ejuke? Olayinka?

Thank you Basco.

I think we played well.
That number 17 na baller...he is raw but the talent is there. Maybe with some tutoring, he will be THERE soon.
And Iwobi...I've never doubted him. Maybe if he was available against Ghana, we'd be preparing for world cup now.
I was shocked Bassey had such crossing ability in his locker yet he didn't attempt any in the match against Ghana especially when there were two tall strikers in Osimehn and Sadiq on he pitch.

According to owngoal
it's a 3-5-2 formation

here's the line up

Francis Uzoho
Chidozie Awaziem
William Ekong
Semi Ajayi
Innocent Bonke
Alex Iwobi
Joe Aribo
Moses Simon
Calvin Bassey
Terem Moffi
Cyriel Dessers
Bassey and Simon as WBs I guess.... I'd have preferred two different forwards with different skillset sha. Moffi and Dessers kinda look similar....

Bassey couldn't complete passes? The same match I watched? Habamana
Man...I don't know the match you watched but Bassey was poor in that match. He lost a lot of balls in a ridiculous manner as a pro.
But that doesn't mean he is not good. Every player have their off-days.

Did a small study on this Hickey guy...

* 19-year-old from Scotland same as Tierney, so can easily be mentored by Tierney
* Plays Attack minded Left back, first-team regular for Bologna this last season, with 5 goals to his credit
* He is two-footed and can operate on either flank

If really good, can displace Tavares and be a better backup for Tierney and maybe for Tomi too.

But I am more interested in the CF we are getting 1st
on the long run, Tierney should be seen as the back up

First Bassey is a defender , who did a decent job just like any other player who is suitable for that position would play. Zaidu sanusi wouldn't have done any better, it's not as if when sanusi plays, he would create nice crosses, overlapping runs etc. perhaps he does that in Porto , but he hasn't given that impression of an irreplaceable player in the Eagles fold.

Secondly, it was Bassey's first full debut , the home crowd , the cruciality and anxiety the match potrayed was felt by all. On the far right , Aina was well spent. The centre backs pair of Balogun and Ekong didn't show so much composure and understanding as they've been playing together for years. Bassey became the playmaker from the defense, virtually all balls were played to him for his discretion. Again this is someone who was having his first full cap. Nobody wanted to make a mistake but Bassey was always played on the ball. When Moses Simon came in , he still fumbled with the ball, holding on to it too long without any end result. There was no synergy between Moses and Bassey. this is understandable as we were seeking for the second goal.

Bassey was still able to dictate the play as he was so calm and this affectes the whole team as there was no sense of urgency. Again look how he assumes the mantle of leadership for his full debut. The other creative players were null and void. But the young man was just playing his game as he understood it.

He did very well for me. He moved the ball on his wings many times too. But he was overall calm and that's just the beauty I've come to appreciate about him with time.
A lot of reasons you stated here are valid especially being his first debut but the fact still remain that he flopped against Ghana. I mean, he couldn't even complete ordinary passes. So, you people should stop exonerating him please...that doesn't question his quality though. Infact I'm seeing him as a future starter. Ndah, Awaziem,Bassey,Ozonwafor.... Hopefully, we get other quality ones too

You guys are more critical of Bassey's performance against Ghana than you are for Uzoho, you'll think he (Bassey) was the one that committed the error that led to Ghana's goal, "I WiLl pICk omErUO ovER bASSey", always hyping mediocre players not worthy enough to make the standby list of San Marino's NT,* spits *.
Uzoho and Okoye fumbled against Ghana and Tunisia, we roast them. What is bad in doing the same to Bassey with his very poor performance against Ghana. Osimehn sef was not spared.
