mountmoriah: a land that is already fence with gate, and documentation intact, how will they access the land, they will pull down the fence and remove the gate? That is what he said expect you don't read that part, there is gate and fence already on the land Aluminum is better than Asbestos, aesthetically and health wise. |

There are other more sustainable sources of wood for doors that do not command such a huge price. Not just monetary price, but environmental legacy. We here are supposedly the 'educated' in society and we owe this to our children.
I drove through the Omo Forestry Reserve in Ondo sometime last year and you will weep at the rate at which these precious resources are being ravaged. There is no sustainability plan or recultivation. Just queues of 'Agbegi-lodos' as they're called, keen to espape (selfishly, IMO) with their precious cargo. I don't encourage it, I only signify the location where the woods can be gotten, because there are situation whereby curious inventors can insist this what they want, and there nothing we can do about it, because they only seek quality, if you have access to the state goverment where the woods is located, you can write the state goverment to stop deforestation, in fact I went further to state that the woods.are very expensive, looking my statement carefully sir. You will know that i'm not bias in my contributions sir. I only contribute my own quota. |

bixton: It all boils down to the properties of the aggregate materials used to achieve that number per bag and still maintain the desirable strength of the block.
Every number you hear is correct and achievable given that the moulder understands the job to be done. Be it 6" or 9", ensure that the blocks moulded for foundation(sub structure) is less in quantity to that used for super structure per bag. you are very correct |

Abdomox: People here have advised you bargain on the job to be done, and not on number of manpowers involved.
For example, if it's laying of blocks...pay them N50/block for 6 inch, and N60/block for 9 inch block.
With this, they wont slow down job unnecessarily. u are right |

The danger of encroachment that a land may face, depends on the value (as a result of location) of the land in question. There are some lands that even if you fence it and there is no building on it, with someone living on it.... it will be encroached by "Power-Pass-Power". 
Last-last, what would happen is that the original owners of the land, after collecting triple of what you paid to them from the new buyer (and that buyer will be someone so connected in society that it will be futile for you to start a battle with), Once the newowner has built it, everything after that falls in the real of "negotiation".
The sellers would offer you two options:
1.) They will relocate you to another place by giving you another land of same size (some will even give you a corner piece) in a less valuable location. 2.) offer to return your money back to you, in full.
I have seen it happen a few times in my 'young' life.
Even when yo have genuine reciept from them, all they need to do/say (by conniving among themselves since they are all beenfitting from the new bonanzza) is that the seller has not right to sell the land to you. Even if you go to court, the Judge will tell you that your "land contract" is null and void since the seller has "No Capacity to Contract" and you are entitled only to a refund.
Lawyers in the house can attest to that fact.
