Question to everyone - Did anyone receive a request to submit for preliminary review yesterday, and to those currently in the preliminary review stage, did anyone hear back from them yesterday?

Joined the waitlist on the 13th of March and was asked to Submit on the 4th of June

I just uploaded my application on the new website and I got this message “ Under preliminary review: You have successfully submitted your application for preliminary review. Your German mission will now check your details. You will be notified as soon as the result of the preliminary review is available”

Does anyone know what this means and how long this step will take ….. I would also like to know how long it will take to get an appointment after this step … thank You

I think an official document or receipt from the school detailing that they have received your payment might be better. It’s what I am doing

There is no longer category A or B on the new portal. The current waiting time is 18months except you have a scholarship from public funds or daad

You cannot reschedule to a date earlier than your initial appointment date.
That is why I proposed using emergency appointment option.

1.Yes . It is acceptable but it is not a straightforward or reliable way to demonstrate your financial proof. Stock holdings can fluctuate in value, and their liquidity can be a concern.

2. Consular officers may prefer to see more stable and liquid assets that can be easily converted into cash to cover your 1st-year or whole tuition expenses.

3. If you do not have any other options , then you may go ahead in presenting it but be ready to defend its asset value and the reliability to the consular (if he or she raises concerns).

If you had told me earlier before picking August 13th, I would have told you to still hold on and await release of closer date.
As it stands, you have to wait for emergency appointment request.

Rescheduling is to get another date that is after your normal interview date. Emergency appointment is different from rescheduling.

You can request for an emergency appointment 60 days prior to your programme start date.
You need your SEVIS fee payment receipt and i20 to request for emergency appointment.

Unconfirmed info have it that the ASUU exco got invited by the presidency for a meeting.
So if the meeting goes well, they will suspend the strike but if not the strike continues.

That’s the reason for the non release of the press conference for now.


Even lecturers are confused because the rollover strike expired yesterday and no official statement as to their current status.
