Boss13: What weight? Who wrote the Bible lets start with that. The bible is a jewish history book written for the jewish people Its a Jewish history book yet has sold more and faster than any other book in the world. If history is such an interesting subject how come other history books aren't selling that fast? People should start thinking straight. |

maternal: Europe is getting tougher, but its still better pass naija. I feel North America is more stable. Either way your cousins seem like failures, incompetent or both. Whatever their irrational reason was to come to naija and work, nobody is buying because its better. Stop insulting our intelligence. Now to address the stereotypical "Washing dishes" again. In Canada for example, there are minimal but good paying jobs where you need little to no education to do. Driving public transit for example starts you at a minimum of 65k to 100k dollars per year. With good benefits and a government pension. All you need is a drivers license and be over 18. Police officers here start at 80k and reach 100k annually within 3 years. Again all you have to be is over 18 and have a high school education with no criminal conviction. An ordinary mail man here pulls in 60k a year or more with overtime. So if you're in naija and have finished secondary school, the least you can do here is get these minimal jobs which pays well. If you come here when you're young and have higher ambition, the sky is the limit. Nobody "washes dishes" here. You'd have to be an idiot to come here and start washing dishes. You guys still don't read. I never said my cousins returned from Europe. Nawa oo. I said they schooled in Nigeria and prefered to work in Nigeria than move to Europe. How is that a failure? Poverty mentality is eating you guys up. They work in big organisation here and still travel to Europe on vacation yearly. My surprise is that I thought they would want to start up their career in Eu but they choose Nigeria despite being Eu citizens. Opportunities are here but you guys are not seeing it, all you are talking about is taxi driver earning 60k per month. FYI, Lagos danfo drivers earn more than that. |

aspirebig: Bro, read my post very well I am still in Nigeria. I am a learned fellow with good qualifications and good years of work experience. If I am to travel now, my case will not be like your cousin's own, ok. Ori yato si Ori.Your cousin is living his own life and destiny, my own destiny is different too.
You better advice your so called cousin to come back instead of adding figures to those in abroad, before it is too late. Or are you sure you are not even the cousin in question. One thing about life is that personal priorities, personal discipline in areas of handling our scarce resources, destiny, prayer, luck, , opportunities all differs. What worked for A , may not work for B. So read well before posting your comments. Your problem is commenting without reading. You are probably under-employed here, whatever caused it for you here will still do same over there. I didn't say my cousins live abroad, I said they have EU passports. Their mum is from Belgium. The schooled here, preferred work here to working in Europe. I used to wonder within me, if European citizens as they are do not want to return and work in their homeland do to their race what makes me think I as a foreigner will find it easy over there . And FYI, you won't do more than wash dishes with that your Nigerian certificate you are bragging about. |

Just to inform you, TAXES KEEP THE CIVILIZED COUNTRY/SOCIETY FUNCTIONAL. Yes abroad you pay a lot of income tax and sales tax, because with those tax revenues the country keeps the roads paved and in good condition. They keep the hospitals up and running so everyone can have healthcare. They pay the police and legal system to have law and order, a foreign concept in Nigeria. The fact you mentioned taxes as a negative things shows your ignorance. The taxes are used to implement policies you are not entitled to as a foreigner. The healthcare policy for instance is for citizens. As a foreigner, you pay your bills to the last penny. Others like scholarship schemes that are financed by your tax money are still out of your reach. Tell me, what else is slavery? |

aspirebig: @op, OYO is your name ooo, i do not buy your idea.By the special grace of God, I am am still in naija doing my bit to make naija a better place. But, you know, do not think because you are blessed in naija that is the end of the world. What is the per capital income of an average Nigerian.
If you decided to stay probably because one person somewhere has promised you an appointment or an elective post, then wait and have your share of the national cake.It is true that you can make it in Nigeria, but also know that many people dreams have died by staying put in Nigeria too. I see traving abroad just like people migrate from the village to cities, it is NOT everyone that make it but at least 75% of those that migrate do make it, and the last time I checked 75% is still an "A".
I have lived in 3 biggest cities in Nigeria, namely, Abj, Lag and PH, with Abj being the most expensive, folowed by PH. Ordinary electricity is still a luxury, except you have a gen, inverter or solar,no good roads, no good medical at the reach of an ordinary citizen, no good schools at an affordable rate, life expectancy is among the worst and poorest in the world, no good security, crime rate is high, no street camerals, injustice can be seen everywhere, we are still battling with acute corruption, our leaders are just playing on the people's intelligent. All we have is syncophants everywhere. I do not see this present generation of Nigerians going to enjoy steady power supply in life.No b curse ooo, we are not doing anything in that direction.
In Nigeria, many university graduates are still earning N30k till date, I have seen a 2.1 holder earning less than N50k a month, so if such dude has the opportunity to travel to abroad, and off he goes, will you blame him? NO....When you are admitted into the uni, you only know your admission year but you cannot be so sure of your graduation date, with the strikes we see in our schools.
Our best brains are leaving the country daily, it is no news.Go to the international airports and see for yourself. Many people that cannot dream of owing a brand new car in life, not a Tokunbo ooh, do achieve this in abroad under 3 to 5yrs. In naija, the opportunities are very Limited. Take it or leave it.
However, I do not support those leaving the country without a good education or learned skills-as it is not everyone that has the opportunity to going to the uni or poly. Also, I do not support those going through the desert by trekking, travelling with the ship or hiding in a ship without the right documents. For how long, are you going to be in hiding? In as much as travelling abroad is good, do not risk your life to the point of death in order to be in abroad. Bro, you will go abroad, come back and write the opposite of this. Don't be fooled by movies. My cousins have EU passports yet they are here in Nigeria doing average graduate job. Its never easy to get a white collar job as a black man in Europe, don't know about America anyway. |

Candour: I don't think its bullshit bro. Had a colleague 10years ago who told me his story very similar to this. He said the journey is called "see morroco.....see Spain"
It was heartbreaking to say the least when he recounted the tales of his acquaintances who lost their lives. He too almost died in the desert but was lucky to return home, go back to school and earn his diploma which got him a junior job in a bank. He's a graduate now and a hotel manager somewhere in northern Nigeria. Nawa oo |

Humility (adjectival form: humble) is variously seen as the act or posture of lowering oneself in relation to others. Its not humility, it is inverted pride. He is trying to score some points by appearing humble. |

malvisguy212: religion is man giving God there idea of worship,it is man tring to find God e.g the tower of babel, the make a decision to meet God and you cant chose for God,example, islam is a religion, in the quran we read how allah love the muslims but hate the unbeliver,if a man has 3 children, will it be appropriat for him to gives condition to his children before he'will love them?
But christianity is God coming to meet man, fulfilling his promise he made to us,if God promise YOU somting, you are not the one that will remind him, He will called you. Jesus said THEY KINGDOM COME, HE BROUGHT THE KINGDOM ADAM LOST BACK TO US, JESUS DID NOT PREACH RELIGEOU, HE UNITE US BACK TO GOD AFTER THE SEPPERATION OF MAN FROM GOD, HE RECONCILE US TO HIMSELF Good preachers are here. |

hifaif: What do you know about Buddhism? If you know nothing, then you shouldn't attempt to compare.
There is a parable of Buddha, 'The Parable of the Poisoned Arrow' to be precise, that suggests that Buddhism is not a religion but a philosophy or way of life.
Bulk of Jesus' teachings do not sound like religion but bulk of Christian teachings (especially the faith and eternal punishment aspects) makes it a religion. Teaching Christianity like religion doesn't make it one. |
