Kanayo who is currently an aspirant to the Bar, officially became a member of the Catholic Church by receiving baptism and taking other sacraments of the Holy Church, alongside two other "Female Muslims who converted from Islam into the Catholic Faith" .

They found Jesus in Law School.

The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC on Monday declared Yahaya Bello as the winner of the Governorship election while the result of the Kogi West Senatorial election remains unknown.

However, Dino Melaye who contested against Adeyemi Smart of the All Progressive Congress APC in a supplementary election for the Senatorial Slot is not happy with the turn out of event.

Melaye in a statement on Tuesday promised he would report Bello, Adeyemi and others to the International community and then head to the International Court of Justice in Hague, the Netherlands.

He said:.

What we had in kogi is no election,what we had was a civil war that has claimed 16 lives so far. I will report Bello, Smart Adeyemi, Taofik, Speaker Kolawole and sunday Faleke to the international community and then proceed to Hague. This i promise..SDM

A little boy who came to the airport to welcome the super eagles on Saturday was spotted at the stadium today and held a banner requesting for the jersey of Former Arsenal Player and Everton Midfielder, Alex Iwobi.

Contrary to unverified news circulated by some online news bulletin, that Nollywood Actress, Tonto Dike has been arrested and deported from Dubai, emerging photos sighted by Ngg.ng reveals that, not only is the actress is still in the UAE, she is also enjoying her holiday.

There had been reports of an alleged altercation had ensued between the actress and security operatives at Festival Arena, Dubai Festival City, the venue of One Africa Music Fest in Dubai, on November 15. The altercation these platforms had reported was caused because Tonto was drunk and these led to her arrest by police in the city, and alledged deportation to Nigeria.

Findings by ngg.ng reveals that the actress, who is still in Dubai, is basking and enjoying her holiday.


On Sunday, November 17, the actress was spotted in company of her bestie, cross dresser, Bobrisky at a Louis Vuitton outlet in Dubai.

On Thursday evening, the tech entrepreneur announced his arrival in a tweet. Per the visit, Jack will be hosted some entrepreneurs in Lagos, details of which company's Communications team declined when Business Insider SSA requested details last month.

The Kano Zonal Office of the EFCC on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 arraigned the duo of Kasim Jibo and Bashir Mua’zu before Justice N.I Afolabi of the Federal High Court, Gombe, Gombe State on a two-count charge, bordering on obtaining by false pretence.

Trouble started for the two following a petition which alleged that Jibo, the first defendant presented himself to one Babangida Muhammed Aliyu as the permanent secretary, Sokoto State’s Ministry of Agriculture and defrauded him of the sum of N6,300,000 (Six Million, Three Hundred Thousand Naira) on the pretence that he will sell five trucks of assorted combination of fertilizers to him at the cost of N3,300,000 (Three Million, Three Hundred Thousand Naira) per truck, and N3,000,000 (Three Million Naira) per truck for NPK brand specifically.

The Appeal Court Kaduna division has set Monday 11th November 2019 for hearing and adoption of the brief of arguments on the Kano Governorship Election Petition between Engr Abba K Yusuf, his party the PDP and Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and the All Progressive Congress.

The parties in the suit were notified on Thursday by the Appeal Court.

The Appeal Court has up to 30th November 2019 to pronounce judgment on the petition.

Gov. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State, on Thursday, presented a proposed N197,683, 353, 659 billion Appropriation Bill for the year 2020, to the State House of Assembly.

Presenting the budget estimates, Gov. Ganduje explained that out of the total budget, N117, 710, 626, 881 billion was for capital projects while over N79, 972, 726, 788 billion was asset aside for recurrent expenditure.

A statement issued by Director-General, Media and Public Relations to the Governor, Ameen K. Yassar said the proposed appropriation is tagged ‘Budget of Sustainable Social Development’.

Forty eight Internet fraud suspects are currently being prosecuted in court by the Kaduna office of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC . Mailafia Yakubu, Zonal head of the EFCC in Kaduna made the disclose today, 4 September, 2019 at a media briefing where he updated the public on activities of the Commission in the zone.

He said that the Kaduna office, from January to date, received 345 petitions and investigated 286 cases. He added that 52 of the cases had been forwarded to legal department for advice while 56 cases involving 48 suspected internet fraudsters are already before the court,  while 23 persons were convicted.

More Trouble for Nyako as Court Okays EFCC's Request for Witness to Testify by Video Link

Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court sitting Abuja, on Wednesday October 30, 2019, granted the the request by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for its witness witness, one Mr. Kobis who is based abroad, to testify through video link in the ongoing trial of former governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, and 7 others.

They are being prosecuted on 37 counts of money laundering allegedly perpetrated while Nyako was governor of Adamawa State. Others charged alongside the former governor are Zulkifik Abba, Abubakar Aliyu and four companies: Blue Opal Ltd, Pagoda Fortunes Ltd, Tower Assets Management Ltd and Crust Energy Ltd..

Justice Abang had on Tuesday October 29, reserved till Wednesday October 30, ruling on the application by counsel to the EFCC, Rotimi Jacobs, SAN, seeking the permission of court for his witness to testify via video link.Jacobs had told the court that all efforts made by the anti-graft agency to get the witness to testify before the court failed, citing health and security concern.

The trial judge while noting that the request was novel, said, “I intend to carefully conserve the statutory provisions cited by learned counsel representing the parties before the court takes a decision on the issue"

CUPP raises concerns over Supreme Court's delay in composition of panel to hear Atiku's appeal 15 days to the timeline/expiration of date fixed for judgment by the constitution.

... CUPP insists the alleged plan to compose a panel in violation of order of seniority is still alive and says the Coalition will not have confidence on any panel constituted in violation of order of seniority.

*The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) is again raising concerns over delay by the Supreme Court to constitute the presidential election appeal panel that will hear the appeal filed by the opposition candidate and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the February 23 presidential election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s 15 days to the deadline given by the constitution for judgment in such appeal to be delivered or the case is dead.*

The Supreme Court has since about 16 days ago fully received all the filings on our appeal and by the provisions of the constitution the Supreme Court have on or before 11th November 2019 which is 15 days from today to deliver judgment on the Appeal of Atiku challenging Buhari's victory.
We also wish to inform the Nigerian people that in furtherance to our believe in the rule of law and the Supreme Court, we have written the Supreme Court through our lawyers to remind them of the need to give us a date for hearing of this all important Appeal of National importance that have the capacity to give our nation a competent leadership that they will be proud of.

we approached the apex court for redress with the strong conviction that the court will right the wrongs; an expression of our deep commitment to the rule of law

But over 45 days after the tribunal delivered its verdict, the Supreme Court is yet to constitute the appeal panel.

This development is very worrisome to the opposition political parties as critical stakeholders in the nation's democracy.

We can only therefore infer that this lingering delay in constituting the panel is capable of compromising the interest of opposition Coalition candidate Atiku Abubakar in view of the fact that we have information that the alleged pressure for the *composition of a panel 'in order of convenience' and in violation of the age-long order of* seniority is still alive and if allowed to succeed will destroy public confidence on the Apex Court in view of the challenging environment we are operating in.

The CUPP therefore call on well-meaning Nigerians and lovers of democracy to prevail on the Supreme Court to do the needful on this matter before it is too late by ensuring that the integrity and public confidence in the Apex court is not destroyed.

We are also reiterating our earlier call on the apex court to resist any pressure aimed at forcing it to jettison the age-long practice of constituting the panel based on seniority.

*We insist that we shall declare a total LACK OF CONFIDENCE in any panel constituted in violation of the age-long order of seniority.*

The apex court must be ready to be on the side of the people in saving this nation and its democracy.

The Social Media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie has responded to the rejection of the Integrated Payroll and Personal Information System IPPIS by the Academic Staff Union of University ASUU.

Lauretta Onochie in her statement stated that every lecturer should be committed to one University that pays their salaries per month.

She said,

A University Lecturer should be committed to one Institution that pays him monthly. He can support another university on a small scale as a consultant. Working full time in many universities at a time, is the reason they churn out graduates with no skills. There’s no commitment.

The reason ASUU is fighting the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) is that many Lecturers dash from one university to another as full time Lecturers. The IPPIS will expose those with multiple full time jobs.
