thebigkendo: Bro Kazeems hardly detect overcharging systems broh...Their own is to disconnect one part of your battery terminal, if the vehicle failed to stall, they will conclude that the alternator is working. Can you imagine me travelling 500km non stop with the alternator giving close to 30 volts, the battery would have probably exploded due to non stop overcharging. A battery charger once told me of a story like that. In fact, I didn't take the vehicle for him to fix the charging system for me, I took it for EGR fix and he decided on his own to check the charging system. You needed to see how superbright my headlight was at night during the overcharging debacle, you will think my Car is those night crusade lights you see at camps...Superbright and intimidating....I was even happy thinking I was using a powerful alternator, not knowing the charging system was sending out harmful voltages... |

bravolad: Broh! won't you be unhappy if you spent over 50K NGN on certain parts of your vehicle maintenance and repairs and the workshop you paid failed to solve your issue or refund you? And you were sent out like a dog after spending close to N150K in total patronage. You gave them 5 months to apologise and renegotiate a refund and they didn't? I had to start spending all over again to clean up their mess... |

thebigkendo: Bro, I decided to use the Kazeem to fix the alternator issue because of distance to Honmusa place and cost to fix the issue. There will be no need for the Kazeem rewire to start diagnosing the problem, and to solve the problem in a cheaper way...Guy Honmusa is good ooh, he studied electrical engineering unlike most auto guys on this platform. You need to see his work methodology...Reading vehicle's electrical charts and solving problems. The only drawback with him is that he is a bit expensive...In fact I was forced to ask him what he studied at the university when I saw him solving an electrical problem that saw power windows and guage in the instrument cluster failing to work middle of last year because of a partial contact in the wiring... |

thebigkendo: Hello Guys, No be everything I write for here oooh..If I put everything in writing, fit enter two pages broh. The only abuse in the vehicle as at the time I bought the car was Water in radiator and direct fan. Honmusa fixed that for me and it was working perfectly till date ooh. These three codes showed up as at the time of purchase O2 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 2, EVAP and EGR malfunction...I didn't have issue with the car apart from the alternator going bad after two months of use and me trying to clear up my scan codes. The car has never broken down on me. It has never failed to start on the first attempt. I started having issues when I was trying to fix alternator and clear up codes in Mayor2013 hands, yet the car survived the abuse... 1 Like |

thebigkendo: Bro...Mayor2013 is the culprit. And I dont take my car to just anyhow person broh..My Challenge of not working with Honmusa is just distance. The car is perfect condition as I speak. The only time I patronize Kazeems are for minor jobs like suspension, tire replacement, power steering belt and alternator belt replacement. Not advanced electrical or computer work for them...You can use them cheaply to fix basic, menial jobs in a car... |

What you have there is nothing but the truth. No there is no need to hide any more since he showed up and owned up by him self. He is Mayor2013. Why I kept on visiting Mayor2013 is because at that point I was still thinking He could fix the issue. Distance has been a challenge for me while working with Honmusa...I don't take my Car to Kazeems bro for advanced electricals that involve solenoid replacement or scan ..They do minor jobs like suspension, tire, belt replacement, wheel balancing etc.... |
Car Talk / Guys My Vehicle Was Saved From An Incompetent Nairaland Auto Guru Mayor2013 by Mrdigitech(m): 2:49am On Apr 23, 2018 |
MODIFIED! Due to popular demand and the Advanced Kazeem owning up in the comments below, his moniker is Mayor2013. A real autoguru saved me ooohhhhh! WARNING!!! Guys this is going to be a very long read. So brace up yourselves! There is a lot to learn from it. I don't know where to start ooh, I remember last year May when I got my first car Camry 2001, it was all joy for me and everyone around me till It fell into hands of an incompetent mechanic who is also a well known member on this platform. Although I wanted to get the EOD, I was scared because of the front leg and gear problems. At the last minute I settled for Camry 2001 as it had stellar reviews for easy maintenance and ruggedness from other owners on this platform. I took it for its first scan and the following codes came up, Oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 2, 3 EVAP codes and Exhaust Gas Recirculation Malfunction EGR. I decided to upgrade the the cooling systems before working on the codes, since it was using direct fan and water in the radiator. The real auto guru pressure tested the systems and swapped the water for coolant. And the car never overheated till date. The only challenge I had while working with this autoguru is distance, I had to travel for some kilometers through traffic to meet him. On his recommendation, I decide to visit another so-called auto guru on this platform. That was the beginning of my torture and auto misfortune. At first, I was impressed with his array of facilities and equipments, some of which I have never seen before. First thing he did was to scan my Vehicle and we decided to resolve the issues one after the other. He successfully treated the O2 sensor replacement and cleared the code. Where he failed woefully was handling issues he had no experience tackling. EGR and charging system replacement. The alternator issue was a debacle. There was an internal fault that was busting up the alternator and causing a parasitic drain on the battery. This so-called guru, who is just a Kazeem with fancy gadgets suggested I changed the alternator that it will bring up my dashboard battery light, which stopped working, and charge properly bla bla blah...Ok I paid him for the alternator, and he replaced it. The battery check light still didn't come on. He changed the alternator 3 times, thinking the fault was with the alternator but it wasn't. He concluded that the problem was with my instrument cluster. That I should change it. I doubted his ability because of his approach and non resolution of the problem. I was angry that he made me buy an alternator for nothing, whereas my old alternator was working well which was confirmed by the real auto guru subsequently. I asked to see the performance of the charging system he fixed but he told me I shouldn't worry that I should just go and continue my life, that the system he fixed for me was charging fine and that he will beat his chest any where that he was the one that fixed the system. I didn't know this guy fixed an overcharging alternator / system and it was set up fry my car's electronics. The burst up we had over the charging system made him defer fixing my EGR issue till month end right from the middle of that month. At first; I told the real auto guru that I wanted the Adanced Kazeem with fancy gadgets to fix the EGR. He warned me that not everyone can handle EGR problems in cars and that it's stubborn to deal with. I didn't listen and thought he just wanted me to patronise him. I decided to solve the EGR issue. The nairaland "advanced Kazeem" fixed a lexus VSV that was faulty and the EGR code came back after a few days. He told me to replace the EGR valve and Modulator, I paid him for that and yet the code came back. He became confused and started fiddling with parts of the EGR system, trying his luck here and there. Yet the code came back and the car started idling erratically and stalling on motion when coming to a stop. He couldn't figure out why the car did that. At this point I lost hope about his competence. Now, the overcharging system the Advanced nairaland Kazeem fixed started to haunt the destiny of the vehicle. Dashboard and breaklight Bulbs, were getting burnt and the instrument cluster guage began reading erratically. My AC light was blinking, the temperature guage handle was getting to the red zone. But when I turn on the AC the handle came back to the middle. I had studied this behaviour over a few days. This time the car was like a walking corpse, plagued with erratic stalling, serious electrical issues, contributed mostly by the EGR and the overcharging alternator system. At a point while he was stubbornly trying to fix the the EGR code after several attempts, we drove out for a test drive and while on speed, he was using the horn and the horn went out. At this time I knew there was a deep fault in the electrical system. Just before we got to his workshop the temperature guage was close to the top. We panicked that the car was overheating but we managed to reach his shop. The first thing he did once as we exited the car was boasting to his junior Kazeems how he drove the car and the car horn gave up. The car say Yeh!! Who dey drive me like this. Nah engineer dey drive you! He told his unfortunate Kazeem trainees. At this point I kept quiet because I was annoyed by the incompetence I saw written all over him. We had a quarrelled about the EGR fix and now we had a potential overheating issue. I couldn't move the car out of his workshop out of fear, he had made up his mind that the car was overheating. I started regretting how and why I met him in the first place. But I knew the car didn't show overheating signs when I used AC, but when the AC was turned off the cluster guages started misbehaving. I observed that when the vehicle's engine was loaded e.g using AC, the alternator voltage drops to a reasonable range e.g. below 14 volts, allowing the car electrical system recover temporarily, making the temperature gauge handle come down to the middle. This observation was noted while resolving the issue with the real auto guru. The Advanced nairaland Kazeem removed my thermostat and the problem persisted. He thought the fan came on late. We changed the temperature sensor yet the faulty temperature gauge reading persisted. We left the car idling for over one hour to physically see if the car will over heat. No, it didn't. They were now thinking the cluster was giving faulty readings. I was mad that I spent my money for nothing and that the car never overheated in the first place. I observed that when the AC was on, temperature guage was always at the middle. I told them about it, they didn't believe me. Unknown to us, the alternator was sending out 17.5 volts while the car was at idle, who knows how much it sent out while it was in motion or at a higher RPM. Perhaps 30 volts or more into the cars electrical system. We had a serious quarrel about the issue and people gathered. His wife came and was begging us to calm down. He warned his junior Kazeems that my Vehicle has been banned from his shop, and no one should attend to me again. He walked me out of his workshop. Even when i came back to his shop to pick up my old parts which he replaced, which I knew were mostly working, he asked what am I doing here? I told him I will write an unbiased review about his services and competence. He told me to go ahead and that he will tell other auto repair guys on nairaland to avoid me. I also told him I will report him to the real autoguru, and he didn't seem worried. At this point I had spent close to N150K in his workshop on parts, servicing and so-called repairs; with my car electrical and engine operation battered... The first thing I did after leaving his workshop was to report him to the real auto guru, and he was shocked and disappointed. He told me I should have contacted him since . We started cleaning up his mess. I was concerned about fixing the EGR issue, when the real autoguru decided to check the charging system. It was then he alarmed that the system was over charging and that it will fry my computer and damage my battery. I was just about to travel with the car but I decided to solve the issue. Since the real autoguru armed me with the knowledge of my charging system, I couldn't travel to meet him and I took the car to a nearby rewire with 17 years experience. He struggled to fix it which sent him to Ladipo several times. He finally did, based on the advise of an r experienced rewire he saw at Ladipo and the battery warning light came on for the first time in 8 months. The rewire didn't use volt meter to test the system and gave me assurance that the system was working perfectly. I immediately saw positive results as the electrical faults created by the incompetent nairaland Kazeem ended. I didn't need to replace any bleeping instrument cluster. Guages read correctly, cluster and brake light bulbs stopped burning out. Temperature guage started reading correctly and the car wasn't overheating. I knew the Advanced nairaland Kazeem was really incompetent when he couldn't tell the coolant temperature of my car using his OBD scanner. In fact, he took out my thermostat and told me until I bought a new instrument cluster, he wouldn't fix it back, which was confirmed to be working perfectly subsequently. This quack didn't know I had worked with one of nairaland real autoguru and he uses the best practices by properly diagnosing a problem before proferring solutions. I have seen the real auto guru reading coolant temperature using his OBD scanner which is less bulky and complicated as that of the advanced Kazeem. The real auto gyru checks the coolant temperature values are within the prescribed ranges using his OBD scanner. He didn't tell me to buy a new instrument cluster in other to accurately tell the vehicle's coolant temperature as suggested by the Advanced Kazeem. The real autoguru made me understand that the cluster doesn't always provide the current performance report of the car since they are mostly analog devices, but an OBD scanner can provide you real-time information. You can get the exact data on the Vehicle's RPM, coolant temperature and many more. Finally the real autoguru fixed the vehicle's EGR system and the vehicle came back to life and runs like a breeze. I thank God that the advanced Kazeem drove me out of his workshop for good. Because that moment became the turnaround in the life and operation of my vehicle. I no thief money buy the motor; why will he condemn my Car's fate to an arrogant, incompetent mechanic.... Guys it's advisable to travel long distances to get professional help from competent gurus. You won't need to buy parts needlessly and destroy your car in a bid to repair it. You'll only burn fuel...The nairaland advanced Kazeem needs at least 5 years of serious training to stand on his own. I only pity the poor folks he is mentoring. These folks will then go on to destroy other people's cars... Please evidence of the overcharging system the incompetent nairaland advanced Kazeem, that uses mostly Bosch equipment, fixed for me is attached...

DECOtech: Iol...I wanted run to Honmusa for safety. The Kazeem abi Toyeeb sabotaged my car breaks, by reversing what he called "Vacuum." My break pad, which was worn-out but still very usable and soft, became stiff. I argued with him about the break's stiffness. That I came in the morning with soft breaks, why was it stiff The Kazeem shouted and defended himself that he warned me about it. That it got worse that day. I knew he did something but couldn't prove him wrong since I was inexperienced with breaks. I couldn't manage it to Honmusa garage before I end up running into a Range Rover Sport 2016..lol, The Kazeem ripped me off by an extra 6K. However, fixed all my break pads and linings...The total cost is shameful to state. God they....Guys! Flee from Kazeems, Toyeebs, Alfas. They have nothing to offer you but misery... |

Hello guys, I got a Toyota Camry recently and the previous owner removed the thermostat because he was told it wasn't meant for Nigerian weather. The Vehicle was guzzling so much fuel like crazy. At first, I coped for the first few weeks. Latter, I started feeling the financial impact the vehicle's excessive fuel consumption had on my pocket. I decided to research online where I saw some threads about thermostat removal and its relation to fuel consumption. I decided go with the recommended guys ( not Kazeems ) on this forum. One said that he can replace the thermostat but I needed to verify from the previous owner if the Vehicle had overheating problems in the past. I did and the previous owner told me no. I didn't believe him though, but I decided to research a little more about a car's overheating problems till I came across the real auto guru's tread. I decided to contact him and he explained what needed to be done. I discovered that he uses a cooling system test kit which presurizes the cooling system to expose leaks. So he was the right choice for me. He presurized my cooling system and a exposed a hidden leak on the pipes (thank God it wasn't Radiator) I sighed. We fixed it and pressurised it with his kit and it was peefect. However, a Kazeem (Toyeeb actually) worked on my alternator earlier in the day and didn't fix the wires properly. This disconnected my instrument cluster and power windows. All the guages were dead. I was wondering how I would be able to drive home without seeing the cluster guages. How do I know the car's temperature was rising beyond the accepted level? But the real auto guru assured me that no overheating situation would occur. I took his word and entered heavy traffic. No overheating and I switched on my AC non stop and it didn't cause any problem. I drove 30km home and back to his workshop without issues. He has tools and kits for almost everything. The Kazeem (who worked on my alternator in the morning) I took to him to see the real auto guru and he was just surprised at his indepth technical abilities but he was still adamant and ignorant. He cleaned up his mess and I went home happy. The Kazeem I took was very ignorant and boastful that he doesn't need to scan anything. That he has lots of experiences. That good guys don't need to scan anything. That all they need to do is see the vehicle and know what to do. I looked at him and saved my breath. Guys, take your lovely ride to the real auto guru and stay a 1000 miles away from Kazeems, Toyeebs, alfas and Kazeem's distant relatives, they'll wreck you... 6 Likes 1 Share |

derealj:It's actually 3 - 1, despite the use of Anti-Aircraft guns by the defending soldiers. Respectable score if you ask me, considering the fact that the soldiers used heavy artillery and Soldiers were the defenders, which gave them an advantage...The MOPOL no doubt used AK 47 and perhaps teargas. To the Army guys, it's safer to confront untrained rascals (Boko foot soldiers) holding AK 47s than a trained one. I.e MOPOL, DSS, Navy, Airforce. There will always be a fairly balanced share of casualties on both sides barring the use of heavy weapons. There is also the porpular cliché used by soldiers "1 soldier equal to 10 Police Men"...Be warned guys |

tolajay: lol...I must tell you, I live in fear of the inevitable each day, especially with regards to my U.S Upwork account. The video verification step is now a standard requirement for all new accounts or profiles (verified info from Upwork forum). However, I doubt if that current wave of verification or account suspension hammering foreign, dodgy profiles will happen to me anytime soon. The U.S account I'm operating is about 11 months old with more than 50 projects completed. It has a Top Rated badge and a JSS of 98%. I have only used a single IP address in accessing this account. I never made the mistake of logging in with the wrong IP. I Used a white man's picture initially but then changed to my real picture a few months back. So I can do skype with clients and video chat with support without fear. However, I encourage people to use their genuine profile and location. It pays in the long run. Imagine having taken time to build a stellar, money-spitting profile, only to lose it due to false location or identity. I wish I could just migrate my profile the way it is to fly the Nigerian flag, so I could live happily ever after, but then I remember my faulty foundation. The IRS of U.S have already threatened me through Upwork early this year for wrong W-9 info, I am clueless on what to do. In fact that made me change my profile picture to my real one as I was afraid of identity verification and I also wanted migrate country location in a bid to avoid the IRS hammer. As cumulative earnings increase, the IRS will beam its search light on you, especially those working with U.S profiles. Upwork acted indifferently towards me on this issue, telling me to make changes to my W9 and avoid fines from the IRS. For Naija Upworkers in my shoes, it's a matter time before we all get shot down. If there is one country you should avoid when faking profile (I dont encourage it) please avoid U.S profiles. The beginning is sweet but the end is extremely bitter. Be Warned!!! 6 Likes |

The only other option is closing the account. I can't afford to do that at this time of recession. My resolve is to milk and enjoy it while it lasts. |
