Hello Nairalanders, I want to thank you for your support during the misunderstanding between me and Alimi Hazzan Oladimeji. We have resolved our misunderstanding amicably. He has learnt his lessons and apologised to me. I have been refunded and will take my initial post down...Thanks everyone |
dokiOloye:This lends credence to my assertion. I'm sure the soldiers deployed anti - aircraft guns to by pass the body armor worn by the MOPOL. Cowardly response if you ask me, actual casualty count for the police and army says 3 - 1 respectively... |
derealj:It's actually 3 - 1, despite the use of Anti-Aircraft guns by the defending soldiers. Respectable score if you ask me, considering the fact that the soldiers used heavy artillery and Soldiers were the defenders, which gave them an advantage...The MOPOL no doubt used AK 47 and perhaps teargas. To the Army guys, it's safer to confront untrained rascals (Boko foot soldiers) holding AK 47s than a trained one. I.e MOPOL, DSS, Navy, Airforce. There will always be a fairly balanced share of casualties on both sides barring the use of heavy weapons. There is also the porpular cliché used by soldiers "1 soldier equal to 10 Police Men"...Be warned guys |
tolajay:Not really, I also own a blog as well. I'm a professional student with ICAN. Freelancing gives me time to study. |
tolajay:lol...I must tell you, I live in fear of the inevitable each day, especially with regards to my U.S Upwork account. The video verification step is now a standard requirement for all new accounts or profiles (verified info from Upwork forum). However, I doubt if that current wave of verification or account suspension hammering foreign, dodgy profiles will happen to me anytime soon. The U.S account I'm operating is about 11 months old with more than 50 projects completed. It has a Top Rated badge and a JSS of 98%. I have only used a single IP address in accessing this account. I never made the mistake of logging in with the wrong IP. I Used a white man's picture initially but then changed to my real picture a few months back. So I can do skype with clients and video chat with support without fear. However, I encourage people to use their genuine profile and location. It pays in the long run. Imagine having taken time to build a stellar, money-spitting profile, only to lose it due to false location or identity. I wish I could just migrate my profile the way it is to fly the Nigerian flag, so I could live happily ever after, but then I remember my faulty foundation. The IRS of U.S have already threatened me through Upwork early this year for wrong W-9 info, I am clueless on what to do. In fact that made me change my profile picture to my real one as I was afraid of identity verification and I also wanted migrate country location in a bid to avoid the IRS hammer. As cumulative earnings increase, the IRS will beam its search light on you, especially those working with U.S profiles. Upwork acted indifferently towards me on this issue, telling me to make changes to my W9 and avoid fines from the IRS. For Naija Upworkers in my shoes, it's a matter time before we all get shot down. If there is one country you should avoid when faking profile (I dont encourage it) please avoid U.S profiles. The beginning is sweet but the end is extremely bitter. Be Warned!!! |
keishik:lol... My brother man must survive ooh, albeit legally. Well, I want to migrate my account back home but Upwork needs special documentation to do that, especially if you have a U.S account. The only other option is closing the account. I can't afford to do that at this time of recession. My resolve is to milk and enjoy it while it lasts. |
Guys for those of us using foreign profiles on Upwork, it is not possible to withdraw to local Nigerian banks. There are only 3 options : ACH, Wire Transfer and PayPal. |
born2wyn:I have been following this thread for some months and have gained valuable information from it. Concerning the guy that posted about making payments "So-called security deposit to clients". Please this is a cheap scam done mostly by Indians, Pakistanis and some third-world citizens. Please never pay a dime to get a job. Make sure you read the terms of contract thoroughly and see that it has been funded in the case of fixed-price projects. Some scammers can put $100 as buget and then fund the contract with 0.01 or 0.02 cents. Becareful! They can use worthless contracts like these to hurt your ratings if you don't do their bidding. These scammers mostly target newbies. That will be all for today. Will share some few tips as time goes on. By the way, I'm a Toprated seller in the graphics design niche. Regards |

DTNonso255:This guy is a scammer. He scammed me N2500 2months ago. He says pay on delivery, but it's fake. He will tell you that he will send you the data but that you you'll need to send a recharge card pin or make bank traffer of the sum agreed to activate. He actually uses a bulk SMS service to send fake SMS to your line prompting you to dail a specific code to activate the data. Once you dial the, you'll be prompted to enter PIN. This will convince most victims that he is real. The moment you send him the money, that's the end. Be Warned!!!!!!! |
@Joecutie, you are absolutely spot on. Your contribution smacks of wisdom and superior thinking. A big sucker punch just got served here, and anyone who contemplates challenging what you've written needs mental reevaluation. I'm awed by what you've written; well balanced and devoid of sentiments. I can read your contribution over and over again. Ride on Jeocutie! Great Philosopher!! |
MissTechy:Yeah Misstechy! I've always been here. Just a silent reader...It was a wonderful experience chatting with you....ShoutOut!!!! |
@400billionman, lolz.....It's obvious you ain't familiar with animals, the same with 90% commenters on this thread. Why don't you Google a baby Hyena and a Genet, and make your comparison. ..My 2cents |
Thanks iwriterng for your prompt and efficient service. Please Nigerians this is a tried and tested individual with integrity. I paid some tangible amount of money into his account to order services from an international content milling site, he did as instructed and didn't run away with my money as many unscrupulous persons would. He is an excellent article writer, and I recommend him for your articles as well as other online freelancing jobs. Thanks |
Hi Everyone, I will like to recommend TopUpGold for PayPal dollars withdrawal service in Nigeria. I applied to sell Paypal Dollar on their website yesterday and my account got credited today. An excellent answer to Nigerians craving to withdraw their their Paypal fund. Thanks Very Much TopUpGold. |
Then Some Ghanaians will come and open their dirty mouths and say Nigeria is a failed state! They dont know that success in international competitions such as these only goes to show how organised the various institutions existing in the respective countries are. There is an institutional collapse in Ghana. They are in the class of Liberia, Sierra Leone, Togo etc. It is an insult to compare Ghana with Nigeria... |
Please you people she drop your Glo lines and switch over to other networks. GLO NIGERIA ARE THEIVES, They just stole my credit yesterday. This is the second time this is happening to me in 3 months. They secretly subscribe you to some scamming service only to be deducting you credit especially when you recharge frequently. I called their customer care to complain this morning to complain, they said the dedudcted it because of a 3081 service which I have never heard of or subscribed to. I recharge my phone at least four times a week. I am tired of their scamming policy against the innocent masses. PLEASE BE WARNED |

Sagamite: LMFAO!!!@ Sagamite, you are pot calling kettle black. Go through your post again and fish out the errors. Can't you refrain from insulting people for making their opinions known? Are you not tired of the two syllabic word ''CRETIN'' consistently used by you since 2005 till date? You have mouth diarrhea and you seriously need to gag your mouth... |
