'I have Coronavirus', controversial lawyer tells police to evade arrest, celebrates wife's birthday



The controversial lawyer, Olawale Ojoge Daniel who was recently alleged of serial fraudulent activity on Thursday claimed he was tested positive for Coronavirus to evade arrest of the police.



The Inspector General of Police (IGP) monitoring team had in last week severally visited Ojoge's, Agbarigo rented appartment to arrest him following hint from his victims.



It will be recalled that Ojoge in company of some of his co-travlers were fingered in defrauding the company of an Ibadan-based business man, Alhaji Sufianu Ayinde Kazeem, family of Raji Adepoju and another family of Soara Koleoso of Salvation Army, Ibadan to the tune of N8million.

Following the allegations against Ojoge, a professional body, Dignity in Labour and other victims of the controversial lawyer petitioned police for his arrest.



Our correspondent learnt that the IGP team arrived his house around 4am but Ojoge Daniel refused to open door for them, but the officers eventually find their way into his compound.



Opera news gathered that Ojoge phoned a former deputy governor of the state, Azeem Gbolarunmi to appeal to the police authority, promising to show up on Friday.



After withdrawing the IGP team, our correspondent reports that on Thursday morning, Ojoge through his lawyer, OJoge & Ojoge chamber, wrote a letter to the police informing them that lawyer Ojoge Daniel tested positive for covid-19, hence, he could not report.

Meanwhile, our correspondent gathered that the embattled Ojoge who claimed to be tested positive for coronavirus was on Friday sited celebrating his wife's birthday in ibadan.



When contacted, one of his victims, Alhaji Sufianu Ayinde Kazeem, called for Investigation into his claims and the private hospital where he claimed to have carried out the coronavirus test for him.



Sukazeem said; "you see that is one of the problems with Ojoge Daniel. But I will implore the police to investigate his claims and ensure justice is done in this case.



The business tycoon therefore call on the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) to monitor activities of Ojoge and his wife before dragging the noble name of the association to mud.

Drama As Gov Makinde Exits Oyo PDP WhatsApp Platform In Anger ...I'm disappointed, we don't expect this from you, Gov told


Sudden exit of the Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, from the official WhatsApp platform of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the State created by the Publicity Secretary, Engr Akeem Olatunji, is causing ripples among members of the party in the State.

Governor Makinde angrily left the WhatsApp platform at about 10pm yesterday, after he had confronted the PDP State Publicity Secretary for posting a video on Fulani herdsmen attack on the people of Ayete, headquarters of Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State, which has other towns like Igangan.

The video was calling on the governor to take urgent steps to save the people of Ayete from incessant attacks by Fulani herdsmen and the PDP Publicity Secretary posted it on the platform.

Engr Olatunji had commented on the video; "This video has gone viral but the authority need to confirm the claim. It's very urgent to address the message..."


At exactly 10:07pm, Governor Makinde reacted angrily to comment by the PDP Publicity Secretary, saying; "Everytime some idiots makes (sic) a video, the government must respond... I don't get it really... you need mature people to make meaningful contributions on your platform."

The governor also went on to react to another story on the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) membership revalidation/registration titled; "Several injured as APC members fight over registration in Oyo State."

Governor Makinde asked; "What is the relevance of this on PDP official platform?"

He then exited the platform.

His exit was followed by comments by other participants in the group, with some saying they were disappointed that a governor could be so intolerant.

"I'm highly disappointed sir, we don't expect this from you.

"Leaders who are low on accommodating may have trouble building up goodwill
with other people," Hon Okunlade Orelope Local Government said.

But Kunle Yusuf, Special Adviser to the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals, tackled Hon. Ogunlade by saying; "Please let us stay clear from the issue, we should becareful with information we shared on this loop."

One Gbade Adediran however took Kunle Yusuf up, telling him there was need for say the truth to power and that people on the platform should act maturely.

He said; "I agreed (sic) with you, but sometimes we need to say the truth, we only need matured people on this platform, we need to respect ourselves, Ajurawlo ti ijakadi ko."

Controversial Ibadan-based lawyer, Olawale Ojoge Daniel ignore EFCC invitation, flees from home




An Ibadan-based lawyer, Olawale Ojoge Daniel and his wife on Thursday ignored invitation of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Investigation by our correspondent revealed that Ojoge Daniel and his wife, Bola Ojoge Daniel had fled Ibadan over the invitation.

EFCC had in September 8, 2020 invited Ojoge to explain his involvement in series of fraud committed against a real estate firm, Sukazeem Property Ventures Limited.

Also, the Inspector General of Police monitoring team has also invited Ojoge which he ignored, but a top source at the EFCC and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) told our correspondent in Ibadan on Monday that Ojoge may be declared wanted if he refused to appear in their offices.

The petition written against Ojoge tagged; "Petition Against Barrister Olawale Ojoge Daniel" was signed by Alhaji SA Kazeem the Managing Director of Sukazeem Property Ventures Limited on behalf of the company.

Our correspondent gathered that Ojoge had left Ibadan for his Ilesha home town since last year and refused to return home for fear of arrest.

Checks by our correspondent at the EFCC office showed that Ojoge didn't visit EFCC office on the day of his invite as a source at EFCC said; "we have check all our department documents, he wasn't here as expected. We have strategy of doing our job. The Commision will ensure we get him to clear himself of the allegations. He is a man of integrity and he won't allow people to drag him into mud. He is a layer and respected personality," he said.

A source closed to Ojoge told our correspondent that; "He knew the EFCC will surely come for him. Since he left Ibadan in December last year, we have not seen him here. You can see his vehicle is dirty which means he has abandoned the car for a while. The man is a serial scammer and he will soon show them in Ilesha," the source said.

However, his partner in the alleged fraud, Bayo Adeyemo who claimed to have forged a document for the company in a video that went viral on social media has been arrested by the EFCC.

In the video, Adeyemo said; "I am involved in forged documents that we used to give contract to Alhaji Sukazeem. I am making this video to let you know that Alhaji Sukazeem is a fraudulent man."

Meanwhile the family head of Raji Adepoju in Mokore village, Ibadan Oyo state, Alhaji Mudashiru Amoo Adepoju which owns the said property
warned both Olawale Daniel Ojoge and Adeyemo to desist from blackmailing the family agent, and an Ibadan-based business mogul, Alhaji Sufianu Ayinde Kazeem.

He said the entire family of Adepoju instructed Alhaji Kazeem to ensure he explore all available means to dispose the family land, which he said he adhere to.

In seperate interviews, Alhaji Mudashiru Amoo Adepoju and Alhaji Sufianu Ayinde Kazeem told our correspondent the family terminated the appointment of Ojoge as family lawyer for lack of trust.

But Ojoge through an online publication alleged that Alhaji Zukazeem is a land graber who forged documents for the 14, 672 acres of land belonging to the family.

Ojoge in the story mentioned one Itunnu Blessing Adepoju whose he said had petitioned EFCC over on the matter.

But the family head said the allegations were baseless, misleading, mischievous and libelious to the image of the family agent, Alhaji Sufianu Ayinde Kazeem.
