The EFCC in a statement said it was baffling that after four years , Diezani had still not had her day in court .
The statement read in part, “ We are intent on bringing Diezani to justice and despite the spirited efforts of the commission in ensuring that she returns to Nigeria and face trial , she has been held back in the UK by an investigation that has spanned almost four years without any signal about when she will be available in Nigeria for prosecution.
“ The EFCC has been frustrated over Diezani , a development that prompted it to seek her extradition to Nigeria , so that she can have her day in court . ”
The former minister is alleged to have diverted billions of dollars and purchased choice properties in several parts of the world . Diezani ’ s cash and properties as well as those linked to her , worth over $ 250 m , including jewellery, have been forfeited permanently to the Federal Government by an order of court .

Phones › Re: 5 Reasons Why You Should Never Skip Android Updates On Your Device by Mrexcell(m): 4:59am On Dec 01, 2019 |
bravesoul247: Android updates are there because our devices need them, especially for those that always complain about not having Tecno's update, rumours has it that they've started releasing updates now. Hackers and other cybercriminals are always working on improving their shady methods and finding holes in our security system. They often succeed at this mission and cause numerous data breaches and other incidents worldwide. Below are the reasons why you need them.
1) Skipping Updates Leaves Your Device Vulnerable
Updates are not only there to deliver new icons and fancy wallpapers to your device. They have an essential purpose in the overall function of the Android system.
Each update improves the system by fixing known vulnerabilities that hackers might be able to track down. If you skip the next update, your device will remain unprotected, becoming vulnerable to cyber attacks.
2)Updates Are Easy to Install
All you have to do is approve an update, and the device will do the rest on its own. Plus, you can even turn on the auto-update feature. Your phone will update itself at a set time – usually during the night when you’re not using it anyway. Why skip an important update when you can get it over within a minute or two?
3)You Paid for Them
Would you ever buy something and let it sit somewhere without ever using it again? Probably not, right? So, why should you do the same with Android updates? When you bought the device, you also paid for a lifetime of system updates from the manufacturer. Skipping them means you’re throwing away something you’ve paid for. Therefore, instead of giving them a miss, make use of these updates and let them keep your device in optimal health.
4)Updates Bring New Features
Improved security and faster performance are not the only benefits that come with Android updates. We’ve talked a lot about security here, but updating your device gives you new features as well. These range from new apps and widgets to improved display structures, new fonts, and themes, as well as numerous other applications. Updates often change the appearance of certain apps or locations on your phone.
5)Your Device Will Perform Better
Besides improving security, updates fix bugs that slow your device down. If you notice your Android device lagging too often, you’ve probably missed a few updates. Taking a moment to update your device will make it run smoother. You will no longer have to deal with poor performance or frequent app crashes. Just give the device some time to install an update, and it will perform much better.
Source:https://www.naijatechguide.com/2018/12/never-skip-android-updates.html Am using a tecno spark 6.2 I tried updating it but saw a written instruction that says some of my devices might crash if I go ahead to update it I don't understand. |

ProsperChild: I told Diezani not to bring money home Husband
A former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, lost her ability to speak and subsequently fell into a coma due to the complications of the cancer she had, her husband has said.
Diezani’s husband, Rear Admiral Alison Madueke (retd.), said this in his recently published book titled, ‘Riding the Storms with God on My Side’.
Madueke, who is a former Chief of Naval Staff, said towards the end of the Goodluck Jonathan administration in 2015, Diezani was diagnosed with cancer and had to be flown to London for treatment.
He said, “On Sunday, July 26, 2015, I stepped into my bedroom soon after our brunch to find that my phone was ringing. It was my mother-in-law, Mrs. Beatrice Agama, who was staying with Diezani while she was undertaking treatment. She was sobbing and only managed to inform me that my wife was no longer talking.
“I was in London by 5.30am the following day, Monday, and went straight to see her. Diezani was in a coma. I called an ambulance that arrived 20 minutes later, the attendants bearing a stretcher. They had to get a wheelchair since the lift could not take the stretcher.
“In less than 10 minutes, we were at the emergency intensive care unit of the Harley Street Clinic. Her doctor, Prof. Paul Ellis, a top oncologist, was out of town and had to be recalled.
“Three days later, when Diezani finally came out of the coma, she saw me by her bedside and asked what I was doing in London. She had reacted badly to her Friday chemotherapy treatment. Thank God she pulled through that nightmarish incident and is now fully recovered.”
The retired naval officer said unfortunately, while his wife was severely ill, her condition became an issue of politics.
Earlier in the book, Madueke said when Diezani accepted a ministerial appointment in 2007, he told her not to focus on money but maintain the good name of the family.
Madueke, who served as military governor of Imo and Anambra states in the 1980s, said he initially did not want his wife to take public office having only become the first female director of Shell Petroleum Development Company in Nigeria and had a great career.
The former naval officer said, “When finally she was appointed Minister of Transportation, I took further time to advise her on the topic of self protection and self preservation in the bureaucracy.
“I finally recited the advice my father had given me upon my appointment as military governor. “Go do your best, don’t bring back money, but bring back my name”
“Later in that administration, she was appointed Minister of Petroleum Resources, a position she held until the Peoples Democratic Party lost the 2015 Presidential election.”
On how his wife was appointed a minister, Madueke said shortly before the inauguration of President Umaru Yar’Adua in 2007, he was approached by the then Vice-President-elect, Goodluck Jonathan.
Madueke said Jonathan pleaded with him to allow Diezani to take up a job as minister as there were very few persons of Bayelsa origin who had her impressive resumé.

Politics › Re: We Were Humiliated, Traumatised — Sacked Osinbajo’s Aides by Mrexcell(m): 6:54pm On Nov 26, 2019 |
hisexcellency34: Temidayo Akinsuyi, Lagos
Some aides of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who were recently relieved of their duties by the presidency, have lamented the injustice meted out to them by some powerful forces working for President Muhammadu Buhari.
Some of the affected aides who spoke with Daily Independent on Tuesday said they had suffered physical, emotional, financial and psychological trauma by their sack which, they believed, was done without President Buhari’s knowledge.
Speaking with our correspondent, one of the affected aides who didn’t want his name in print, said he was given the appointment in August this year and was told to report in the vice president’s office.
They also attributed their sack to intense rivalry and power play in the presidency. He said he had to resign from his job, leave his base in Lagos, and relocate to Abuja in order to take up the appointment.
“We were actually issued a sack letter but we refused to accept the letter which was given to us after the president had gone for vacation. We all believed it was done without the knowledge of the president.
“I was among the aides who were appointed in August. Later we were told there are no vacancies in the Villa so were posted to various ministries where our experiences will be needed.
“I was posted to a ministry (name withheld) and I was accepted there. I was already settling down only for me to hear that we have been relieved of our jobs.
“Contrary to rumours out there that we were sacked because there were no spaces in the ministries, many of us had already been accepted. We believe it (the sack) has political undertones.
“When I got this appointment, I had to resign from my job and move to Abuja. Since I came here, I have spent millions of naira on hotel bills, transportation and other expenses.
“I have been ridiculed by some friends who are wondering why I was offered an appointment in August only to be sacked in November of the same year without committing any infractions.
“I have since returned to my base in Lagos because it is of no use staying back in Abuja. Hotels in Abuja are very expensive and cost of living is very high. I will only return after the issue has been resolved.
“I am a staunch member of the APC and I worked vigorously for the success of the party in 2015 and the 2019 general elections. This is definitely not a good way to reward me,” he said.
Speaking in a similar vein, another female aide whose appointment was also terminated, said she went through the same harrowing experience too as her business suffered during the period she was in Abuja.
She was, however, optimistic that the vice-president would sort out the issue with the president and that they would be recalled.
“There is still light at the end of the tunnel. The president may be right when he said we were not sacked but redeployed to other ministries.
“That was what happened before he left the country. But after that a powerful person in the presidency issued us sack letters. We believe the vice president is on top of the situation.
“For me, I was highly disappointed and traumatized. Imagine my name being circulated in the media that I was sacked a month after I got an appointment for committing no offence.
“I have also spent a lot of money while my businesses have suffered since I moved to Abuja. Many of us believe that justice will prevail in the end.”
Shortly after he returned from his private visit to London, President Muhammadu Buhari explained why 35 of Osinbajo’s aides were sacked.
Fielding questions from State House correspondents at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, shortly after his arrival from London on Friday night, President Buhari described as unfortunate the rumour that the aides were sacked due to political and ethnic reasons.
“They said 35 people were sacked in the vice president’s office. We just created some ministries and we reorganized and people are giving it ethnic and political dimensions. It is unfortunate,” he said.
Also, the presidency, in a statement by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, said an unprecedented overhaul of the nation’s seat of government was ongoing and had resulted in a number of political appointments either revoked or not renewed in Buhari’s second term.
The exercise, which, according to him, was ordered by the president, was meant to streamline decision-making, cut down multiple authorities and reduce the high cost of administering the nation.
“It is also an appropriate response to the general perception that the presidency has an oversized and bloated workforce, which acts as a drag on efficiency,” he had said.
He had added: “As may have been noticed by discerning members of the public, a number of political appointees among the few that served in the office of the president were not returned for the second term.
“The office of the Vice President, His Excellency Yemi Osinbajo, has, in compliance with the directive of the president, equally been shed of a number of such appointees.
“In carrying out these exercises, the overriding objective is to save taxpayer money and deliver needed service to the public.
“As far as the president is concerned, there is no scope for an excuse for administration after getting a huge mandate to run the country for four more years.”
On the alleged rift between the two top citizens, he said: “In the light of this, the presidency wishes to strongly deny rumours of a rift between President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
“The relationship between the two leaders remains excellent and trusting. Together, they will script a glorious future for the nation.
“The media reports of a soured relationship are originating from the minds and mouths of mischief makers, who are desperate for entertaining stories from the Aso Rock Villa with which to titillate the public.” https://www.independent.ng/we-were-humiliated-traumatised-sacked-osinbajos-aides/ You people are just deceiving urselves if u keep believing that buhari didnt know or approve ur sack the man knows exactly the kind of game he is playing. |

Wisdomkosi: Biafra : "Nnamdi Kanu’ll Arrive For His Mother’s Funeral" –IPOB
The Leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has vowed to return to Nigeria in order to accord his mother, Ugoeze Sally, a befitting burial.
Kanu made this known in a statement made available to Igbere TV through the Director Media and Publicity of the group, Emma Powerful.
Kanu noted that he was not afraid of visiting Nigeria for his mother’s burial.
Although the date for the funeral has not been fixed, Kalu assured that when it was done, he would be present for the program.
“The decision regarding our leader’s coming home to Biafraland during his mother’s burial has not been concluded. It is important we communicate properly to the general public that as soon as the arrangement for his coming is perfected, he will come home,” he said.
Powerful urged members of the group not to panic nor be confused on the new Jewish code of dressing by the faithful that they were seeing in recent weeks saying they were several jewish worship centers in the South East.
“We commend Jewish prayer group in Owerri, yesterday, for their doggedness and discipline. Those with white garments and Jewish caps are our church members; they were coming back from church service. We have branches all over Biafra- land. They were embarking on sensitisation movement to let the world and the Jewish community know that our people need Biafra to become an independent nation,” Powerful said.
Igbere TV had reported that Kanu’s mother died on August 30 in Germany after a protracted illness.
The IPOB leader de- scribed his mother as lov- ing, caring and a compassionate woman.
He also said she died as a result of trauma she went through when soldiers stormed their Afaraukwu home in Umuahia on September 14, 2017 during the Operation Python Dance exercise.
The IPOB leader claimed her mother, seeing how soldiers killed people in their compound got traumatised and took ill and never recovered from it.
“Watching her children being hunted and killed by the federal government was the cause of her illness, and today we have lost her,” he said. He, however, pledged not to be deterred by the death in his struggle for the actualisation of Biafra.
“I said before that I was ready to sacrifice anything for Biafra, and today I have sacrificed my mum. We will not be deterred, we shall continue to fight for the freedom of our people.”
The IPOB leader, who disclosed his mum died long before his visit to the UN and several other engagements, described his resilience as a demonstration that the loss of his mother has not dampened his spirit.

RZArecta2: The fear of having their cows struck by thunderstorms have been driving Fulani herdsmen out of Osun, as many of them have started moving their cattle in droves out the state.
Daily Post reports that movement of thousands of cows were sighted along Iwo-Osogbo road around 12:15am on Sunday.
Recall that thunderstorm killed 17 cows and two sheep on Friday at Iba, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State.
The movement of the herds of cows caused serious panic along the highway, as motorists scampered for safety for fear of being attacked by herdsmen.
One of the herdsmen, who simply identified himself as Haruna confirmed that there was a resolution among herdsmen in the state to move their cows to a safer place.
READ ALSO: Thunderstorm Kills 17 Cows in Osun
He said : “We are going home. We want to keep our cows in a safer place. This environment is no longer safe for us and our cows. We don’t really understand what is happening in Yoruba land.
“It happened in Ondo recently, in which our brothers in that state lost many cows to thunderstorms. The same thing is happening here in Osun, where our forefathers have lived for centuries without such an occurrence.
“These people are using spiritual power to kill our cows; killing our cows is tantamount to killing our future. You keep your money in the banks, don’t you? the cows remain our bank, so, any calamity that befals the cows directly affect our future”.
Asking him about their destination and any possibility of returning to their base, Haruna reacted this way: “Why are you asking me such question, are you a cattle rustler? We don’t disclose our destination to strangers. You are even making me angry “.

I think there is a conspiracy to halt the construction of the Enugu Airport. Today, around 5AM, some thugs loyal to one landgrabber known as J.J Emejulu came and chased away construction workers at the airport and mounted a signpost right beside the airport runway claiming that the airport belongs to him. The estate people across road of the airport have been taken him to court and won him so he no longer comes to their side.
He now uses boys to erect signpost inside the airport and chase away PiD Construction workers from doing their job (rehabilitating the runway). The signpost reads "Arc J.J Emejulu Airport Road Layout Phas Iv IGP Monitoring Unit Abuja"
The government should arrest and prosecute whoever that is backing this man (I heard he belongs to one nonsense "brotherhood" to be causing mayhem at Enugu Airport. Indigbo you people should not allow one of their brothers to be used in scattering their developmental progress. This kind of nonsese cannot happen in Ogun State or Lagos State.

Politics › Re: Hate Speech: UN, UK Reject Death Penalty by Mrexcell(m): 2:41pm On Nov 22, 2019 |
Digitiminimi: The United Nations and the United Kingdom have opposed the death penalty clause in the proposed National Commission for the Prohibition of Hate Speech Bill introduced by Senate Deputy Chief Whip, Sabi Abdullahi.
The UN described the death penalty as barbaric, noting that its inclusion in the bill was unacceptable.
According to the bill, any person who violates the law shall be liable to life imprisonment and where the act causes any loss of life, the person shall be punished with death by hanging.
But the spokesman, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, Mr Olusola Macaulay, in a telephone interview with our correspondent on Thursday, said the global body would not support the bill, noting that a UNESCO advocacy group, Media and Information Literacy Coalition, would soon meet with the National Assembly over the proposed legislation.
He said, “We are trying to pay an advocacy visit to the government and do some lobbying. There is a coalition working already, it was formed with the support of UNESCO.
“They are working to meet with the National Assembly to express their mind and possibly advise the government to have a different narrative to the issue of hate speech and fake news.”
Macaulay also said the UN would lobby the Federal Government on the legislation, adding that what was needed is public enlightenment and education about hate speech and not a law stipulating the death penalty for violators.
He said, “I’m not sure what the government needs now is a bill or an idea to shut down people or prevent people from being able to express themselves or express their freedom of thought or information. What I think the government should do more is to enlighten the people.” The UN agency said most Nigerians were ignorant of issues relating to media and information literacy, noting that a harsh law was not the solution to the challenge.
The global body noted, “Every human being has the right to life and you cannot cut off people’s lives just because someone has expressed his opinion. Nobody is saying hate speech is good.
Hate speech and fake news have been there from time immemorial and it is barbaric to say now that we want to hang people because they expressed their feelings or what they had in mind. So, censoring people or limiting people from participating in politics might not be the correct thing. As I said, the best thing to do is to educate the people.”
Macaulay queried the government for not holding politicians engaging in hate speech to account, noting that many of them had said things that could destabilise the country without being held liable.
The British Government said it supports the right of individuals to express opinions and peacefully challenge authority as an essential part of a free and open society, noting that it was following discussions around the proposed legislation closely.
Commenting on the bill in an emailed response to inquiries by The PUNCH on Wednesday, Her Majesty’s Government said while it takes a strong stand against hate speech which could incite violence and damage relationships within the society, it supports “the right of individuals to express opinions and peacefully challenge authority as an essential part of a free and open society.”
The statement signed by the Senior Press and Public Affairs Officer, British High Commission, Abuja, Chris Ogunmodede, said, “The UK government is following discussions around the proposed Prohibition of Hate Speech bill closely.”
It added, “We take a strong stand against hate speech, which can incite violence and damage community relationships within society. We also strongly support the right of individuals to express opinions and peacefully challenge authority as an essential part of a free and open society.
“The UK strongly opposes the inclusion of the death penalty in any piece of legislation, as a matter of principle.”
https://punchng.com/un-uk-reject-death-penalty-for-hate-speech/ This hate speech bill is another form of sharia law in disguise. Buhari is obviously fufilling what he promised his muslim brothers during his campaigns befor the 2015 presidential elections to introduce sharia law all over nigeria. |

celeiyke: The federal government is set to build a new Sea Port, estimated to cost $800 million in Pessu area of Warri in Delta state.
Minister of Transportation, Rt Hon Rotimi Amaechi disclosed this Thursday, at the Petroleum Training Institute Conference Centre, in Uvwie council area of Delta state.
Amaechi who was in company of the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr Festus Keyamo (SAN) and Director-General, National Directorate of Employment, Dr. Nasiru Ladan Argungu tasked youths of the area to support the forthcoming project.
The trio were in the state to present starter packs, micro enterprise enhancement loans and resettlement packages to 1,700 women and youths under the National Directorate of Employment empowerment programme.
While urging youths to ensure the project goes on smoothly when it takes off Amaechi revealed further that a similar Sea Port will be built in Bonny, Bonny local government area of Rivers state
“We are building a brand new Sea Port in Pessu. It will cost 800 million dollars. When you stop them from working you are losing such a huge investment where the entire community can be contractors, some can supply sand.
“There is also the Bonny sea Port that is coming. The best thing to do is allow the development. Imagine the companies that have left Warri, let the Sea Port project go on smoothly,” the minister appealed.
On his part, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr. Keyamo reassured of the federal government’s commitment to lift millions of Nigerians out of poverty.
He added that with what is being given in this early stage of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, Deltans should expect more, in terms of empowerment, to come in the next few years.
Some items given to the beneficiaries drawn from the 25 LGAs in the state include sewing machines, knitting machines, welding machines and cash sums.
https://thenationonlineng.net/fg-to-build-800m-seaport-in-warri-amaechi/ Why not use this huge amount to modernize the existing ports in the state? Delta state already have about four ports that have been abandoned for years now due to federal politics. Is this not another opportunity for amaechi to loot public funds as usual? |

Justice Nwosu-Iheme took the first one. She was wearing a boo-boo, not comfortable for such a ride “This is my first time of taking an Okada. Please, take it easy, she appealed. He asked what they were doing at that lonely stretch. She told him they were kidnap victims, and asked to be dropped where she could get a taxi.
The motorcyclist turned out to be the biblican good Samaritan. He refused to take money from her. “Madam, they kidnap you, you came out, and you wan pay me. No ma.” Good young man, he waited until a taxi, carrying no other passenger came. She insisted on being the only occupant in any taxi.
Nwosu-Iheme was so touched by the man’s kindness that she asked him to write his phone number somewhere for her.
“For your kindness to me, when I get back to my family alive, by the grace of God, you will not be an Okada rider again. I will help you in life”, she told the motorcyclist. She is sticking to that promise.
Free At Last
She asked the taxi driver to take her to Protea Hotel, Benin. At the reception, she begged the receptionist to use their phone. She remembered her husband’s phone number. Her youngest son, the negotiator, who suddenly became the voice of the family picked the call. When he heard his mother’s voice, he screamed: “Daddy, she is alive, she is free”.
Is She Bitter?
Not quite. But she is human. The killing of her Police Orderly is too much for her. It’s like a sore on the palm. She shudders each time she remembers him. And, it is often. Her Orderly’s family members were worried about her, knowing how close they were. On her way back to Owerri the day after her release, she went to the Police station where her bullet-riddled car was parked. She wanted to look at the car where her Orderly died, for the last time.
She attributed the fate that befell her to God’s wish, her destiny. God wanted to strengthen me, to show me His face and His love for me.
I owe Him. I will thank Him everyday of my life. It is thanksgiving to Him everyday.
“I love my job. And I love my country. I was appointed a Judge at a very young age. I have kept clean hands. I have never seen black and called it white. I have never seen white and called it black. In the shadows if death, I sang to God, I asked Him to judge me by my actions. God saw my heart, and saved me from the clutches of death. I appreciate Him.
May God bless our country. May God’s name be praised “.
This is the second time the family would go through this harrowing experience. A couple of years back, one of her twin sons was kidnapped in Owerri. The writer of this long story couldn't state the amount that was collected before she was eventually released. Thank God she wasn't molested or even killed. |

stephenduru: The philosopher king, Macpius Otu has paid the price of death fighting to save his country Nigeria from the deadly insurgency (Boko Haram) in Maiduguri.
Mac p as his coursemates in Philosophy and Religion Dept in EBSU 2004/05 set call him, your family, Nigerian Army and indeed Nigeria will never forget your good legacies as you died in active service as a HERO.
Good night the commander in the war front.
Source: http://www.trezzyhelm.com/2019/11/another-fallen-heroboko-haram-kill.html?m=1 Its obvious that the north is playing politics with this bokoharam war they can stop it if they really want to. Would they have allowed this war to continue if this bokoharam people were to be based anywhere in the south or even in the middle belt? I only just pity souterners that are been killed daily as sacrificial lambs to sustain this war. |
Politics › Re: Olimpotic Meristemasis: Ayade Presents 1.1trn Budget Estimate For 2020 by Mrexcell(m): 7:29pm On Nov 21, 2019 |
Barondenigeria: By Ike Uchechukwu
Cross River state governor, Prof Ben Ayade has presented the 2020 budget estimate of 1.1trillion naira tagged budget of “Olimpotic Meristemasis” to the State House of Assembly. Ayade has also abolished payment of tax by small scale entrepreneurs like barbing saloon, welders, stylists amongst others. According to him, he would rather tax his brain than tax the people, so no more daily payment of N500 by Okada riders and taxis but they will now pay 1000 and 2000 monthly for Okada and taxis respectively adding that all civil servants whose salaries were below 100,000 naira were also exempted from paying tax.

Presenting the budget on Thursday on the floor of the State House of Assembly, Ayade said all low income earning people in the state were hereby exempted from taxes including civil servants whose salaries were less than 100,000 naira as well as stylish, saloon operators, welders and more. His words: “All low-income earners are hereby exempted from taxes, including civil servants who salaries are below 100,000 nairas.
“The budget is an audacious step towards reducing recurrent expenditure and focus on increasing capital expenditure with Capital expenditure standing at 911 billion while recurrent stands at 188 billion which is 82.8% and 17.2 % respectively. “Nigerians must realise that any state whose budget is driven by the envelop size has limited vision. There are two ways budgets are derived in business or public sector management, it is either as an expression of ambition or an expression of your envelope size.
“The expression of the ambition of the progressive agenda set for Cross River does not allow me the agony to adopt an envelope size budget. The value of our projects have not been commoditised into value , with the intellectual capacity we have reduced a lot of waste,” he said.
