Tmania: Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, has alleged that former Governor Rochas Okorocha approved and used about N11.2 billion to build ultra-modern police headquarters and hospitals for the military.
Ihedioha, who insisted that those projects were under Federal Government’s purview, made the allegation in a statement titled: How Rochas Okorocha Robbed Imo to Pay Abuja issued by his Special Assistant on Research, Ogu Bundu Nwadike.
He said Imo people were denied of the funds, which could have impacted on them in the most desired areas of need, than channeling such resources to the constitutionally excluded projects for state governments.
When Vice President Yemi Osinbajo visited Imo State on his tour of oil producing states, Okorocha in his welcome address told the audience that Imo State did not benefit anything from the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government.
Okorocha narrated how in spite of the fact that Imo State is an APC State, it received no special benefit from the Federal Government.
Ironically, he went ahead to use N 11.2b to build a house for the Federal Government as Headquarters of the Nigeria Police. He also gave out a number of General Hospitals to the Nigerian Army, Navy and Air Force.
That is a case of robbing Imo to pay Abuja. How could a governor who couldn’t attract anything from the central government be building structures with lean State resources and giving them out to the Federal Government?” the statement reads.
Meanwhile, Ihedioha at the weekend resolved the lingering land crisis between the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) Regiment 211 and Imo communities.
The host communities are, Obube and Umuowa communities in Owerri North and Ngor Okpala council of the state.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Chibuike Onyeukwu, the governor also sued for a peaceful resolution of all land related crisis in the state.
Ihedioha was accompanied by the Commandant, 211 Regiment Group, Group Captain Phillip Elisha Bindul and top government functionaries, who visited and met with stakeholders from the communities.
He said the purpose of his visit was to ascertain contentious issues and seek cooperation of the communities to allow peace and development to thrive in the area.
Speaking, Bindul lamented how litigations in court had hindered work on the proposed site, saying the NAF was allocated 100 hectares of land for the construction of the 211 Regiment and as a law abiding agency, it would not exceed the boundary allocated to it.
Traditional Ruler of the area, Eze Jude Chidi Nwaogu, commended Governor Ihedioha for his prompt intervention in the dispute and assured of their cooperation and support towards a peaceful resolution.
I personally visited owerri last week the whole place just looked like a glorified village even the roads in my village was far better than what I saw there it's really a pity for imo people. It just seems as if imo state doesn't have any functioning governmeet for the past eight years.

maxman01: Coalition for Revolution (CORE), a political movement of the Nigerian masses and youths, has declared to do a nationwide protest which will commence from August 5, 2019.
The group made the declaration in a statement.
CORE lamented the corruption prevalent in the political system and called for a complete overhaul of the system.
In a statement obtained by SaharaReporters, the group said, "It is quite clear that the Nigerian ruling elites and the current political regimes of both the APC and PDP at all levels of government can never resolve any of the crises plaguing the land as they are co-creation of the corrupt system that paves way for the problems in the first place. The situation has gone from bad to worse and still on the downward slide at an accelerating speed.
"There are currently more than a dozen armed conflicts going on around the country with deadly consequences and massive displacements of people. These confirm the reality that Nigerian is tending more towards a FAILED STATE where barbarism reigns supreme.
“Also, Nigeria is currently the country with the highest level of poverty globally. Daily reports of killings, kidnapping, attacks, corruption, etc are what currently dominates the media reports."
The group called on young people in the country to take over the streets in protest until their demands are met.
It added, "The Nigerian masses and youths, therefore, have no choice but to stand up and storm the streets in protest and with their demands. The change they said never comes easy and if we do not stand up in the struggle for freedom, the chains would remain on our necks.
"Commencing on Monday, August 5, 2019, the Coalition for Revolution, would be leading a nationally coordinated protest movement. We have the right to be in a rage and to protest. The Aug 5 date was arrived at after series of consultations and meetings."
Leopantro: Mrs. Uloma Nwosu, eldest daughter of the immediate past governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha narrowly escaped lynching Friday, by an angry mob comprising youths from Naze community and traders from Alaba Market, Owerri upon the discovery that alleged looted government properties by the previous administration were concealed in more than 15 containers (40 feet) inside a secluded warehouse along Aba road.
In the warehouse, believed to be owned by the former First Lady, Mrs. Nkechi Okorocha and located opposite Alaba Market, next to the All-In supermarket recently sealed by the EFCC, were allegedly found missing sets of furniture, air conditioners and different electronic gadgets used to decorate the Imo International Conference Centre, the Ahiajoku Centre as well as Government House offices but were carted away prior to the expiration of the Okorocha administration. Also discovered in the warehouses were the corrugated roofing sheets removed from the Imo State Secretariat and the state House of Assembly, amongst other things.
The busting of the warehouses, by the members of the Taskforce Committee on Recovery of Moveable Government Assets, attracted traders at the Alaba Market, taxi drivers and youths of the host community who were set to vent their anger on the former governor’s daughter on her arrival on the scene, before the firm and timely intervention of the state Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Ladodo and his men, who were present to forestall the breakdown of law and order.
That, however, did not dissuade the youths and traders as they pelted Mrs. Nwosu with stones as she attempted to leave the scene before members of the recovery team persuaded the angry mob to desist.

That, however, did not dissuade the youths and traders as they pelted Mrs. Nwosu with stones as she attempted to leave the scene before members of the recovery team persuaded the angry mob to desist.
Speaking with journalists at the scene, the Chairman of the Recovery Committee, Hon. Jasper Ndubuaku said the team acted on a tip-off and discovered a massive warehouse where most of the looted government properties were hidden.
He disclosed that some of the properties found in the warehouse include most of the looted items from Government House, such as beddings, window blinds, chairs and tables from the IICC and Imo Trade and Investment Centre, electronic gadgets, air conditioners amongst so many things that would take many trucks to evacuate.
“Luckily, some citizens were attracted and the State Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Ladodo came around and decided that we seal this place.
“The funny thing is that all those 0.7mm roofing sheets removed from the Imo State Secretariat and House of Assembly are all packed here. They removed all those things and then used point 0.35 mm to re-roof the state Secretariat and the House of Assembly,” said Ndubuaku.
Also speaking, the Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Ladodo expressed his delight that his men had been able to forestall a breakdown of law and order.
However, reacting, the Special Adviser to former Governor Rochas Okorocha, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo said the committee had no business tampering with the warehouse purporting that it was among the properties sealed recently by EFCC for investigation.
He alleged that the committee may after all not be interested in recovery but in looting the properties of the former First Lady, Nkechi Okorocha.
Onwuemeodo also accused the Imo State government of witch hunt.

Astark: The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki said his administration will not avail the federal government land for the contentious Ruga settlement in Edo State.
The Governor spoke while giving a lecture on the topic “Challenges of Pastoralism and International Migration for Sustainable Peace and Development: Edo State Experience” at the Department of State Services Institute of Security Studies (Executive Intelligent Management Course 12), in Abuja.
He said the narrative that the pastoral movement and farmer/headers clashes are not related to the security challenges in Nigeria is not true.
His words: “In Edo State, we have found so-called herdsmen with maps in the forests, they clearly cannot be herdsmen who are dependent on their livelihood from their animal assets; that cannot be.
“I think it is important in the context of this discourse to make that distinction between conflict as a result of economic activities, separate from deliberate conflict that is related to other issues like insurgency and terrorism.”
The Governor said over the years the state has had issues of pastoralists or herdsmen who have come to parts of the South, Edo State using grazing routes and mixing with locals.
“Our approach is, animal husbandry is a business just like we have poultry, piggery or what have you, so from that perspective, we want to now upgrade agricultural practices as it relates to livestock.
“During the era of General Babangida, he set up ranches in Edo; we have one in Igarra and several parts of the state. They are either privatized or left fallow, so we are talking to people who purchased them to see how they can be re-activated.
“For us, because it is business like any other private business, the state should not really have much to except we create an enabling environment for those people we want to invest in livestock business.
“So, the issue of giving state land for livestock, it won’t happen in Edo State.
“However, for individuals who have land and they want to go into livestock business like we are supporting people who are doing cassava and others, we as government will support them.”
On how to resolve the incessant herders/farmers conflict, he said: “The Sambisa Grazing Reserve (4800 ha) is an ideal and symbolic place to take-off by establishing a ranch run by the military.
“It would significantly improve the security situation in the zone and encourage cooperation between pastoralists and the military. “In the North West, the military should also be encouraged to create ranches in the Gidan Jaja Grazing Reserve (565,000 ha) for the same purpose of improving security and cooperation with pastoralists,” the Governor said.
Obaseki said violent extremism, recurrent herder-farmer conflicts, cattle rustling, armed banditry, violent cross-border crimes, insurgency, illegal migration and other forms of crimes have “threaten the fabric of our country. ”
According to him, national cohesion is seriously threatened by the conflict “as many farmers and pastoralists have lost their lives and property in several orgies of violence.
“As we gather here for this lecture, so many Nigerians are living in fear of attack or reprisal attacks due to the growing herders-farmers’ conflict,” he said.
Nice one from the governor the jihad uthman dan fodio couldn't achieve in the 18th century the decendants of dan fodio wants to now achieve it by using ruga fulani settlements.
Total waste of life dieing for country that has sworned to enslave ur people for ever if I happen to be from the ss or se and gets posted to the north east I will either desert or resign from the nigerian military.
Despirado121: Igbere TV just obtained the photos of Army Colonel who was killed by in recent ambush Boko Haram terrorists.
Col. Kinsgsley E. Elemele, according to reports gathered by Igbere TV, who happens to be the Chief of Staff to 29 Task force Brigade lost his life in recent line of battle with Boko Haram in Borno state.
It was earlier reported on Thursday that a Nigerian army colonel including five other gallant soldiers were killed in an ambush by rebel fighters in northeast Nigeria's Borno state.
According to the reports, heavily armed fighters from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) group on Wednesday, opened fire on a patrol vehicle of soldiers who were on their way to Maiduguri from Damaturu, the capital of neighbouring Yobe state, when the rebels attacked them around 16:20 GMT, near Jakana, 30km from the state capital Maiduguri, killing all the soldiers on board.
The attack was repelled by soldiers at the base, with ISWAP fighters abandoning weapons and one vehicle as they fled.
Igbere TV gathers that the attacks came hours after a military chief in the northeast warned "terrorists" in the region to disarm or be destroyed.
So many soldiers and civilians have been lost within the course of the war and the battle is beginning to seem like one which will end in a Pyrrhic victory for the nation.
Any south south or south east person who died in this bokoharam war died for absolutely nothing the fulani north is systemically eliminating all ss and se personnel in the nigerian military using this war against bokoharam as a cover up, that's exactly how Argentina wiped out all blacks in their country by continuing sending them to the war front to be killed.
Triton1996: ‘Declare death sentence for cultists, any Fulani herdsman that kills’ – Primate Ayodele urges Senate, Presidency
The leader of INRI Evangelical spiritual church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has urged President Muhammadu Buhari, the senate president, Ahmed Lawan to declare death sentence for any cultists, and all Fulani herdsmen that have been confirmed to have killed anyone in the country. The Prophet who spoke in his church in Lagos made it known that security is a big issue in the country and it needs urgent attention in order to ensure safety of the citizens of Nigeria.
He also said if the President isn’t truly in support of the terrorist acts of the above mentioned organizations, he should act on passing an outright judgement to anyone found wanting.
‘’Senate should pass bill that gives death sentence to cultists and any Fulani herdsman that kills. If Buhari isn’t in support of the terrific act of some Fulani herdsmen, cultists in Nigeria, he should make it a law that any one found wanting be sentenced to death in order to tackle the insecurity in Nigeria and if the senate President, Ahmed Lawan knows he isn’t just a rubber stamp, he should pass a bill that has to do with passing death sentences for cultists and any Fulani herdsman that kills’ He further reinstated that President Buhari has exhausted all his ideas concerning leading the country and tackling security issues in the country.
It would be worthy of being noted that the terrorist activities of some herdsmen in the country has caused a lot of death in some states and has made it very hard for the economy to move on the pace it is supposed to. The activities of cultists have also wrecked havoc especially in our higher institutions and might result into something more dangerous, if not attended to.

It's a known fact that anywhere there is Islam, backwardness follows.
The northern Nigeria is the most backward region with illiteracy and unimaginable poverty and there is no hope in sight to solve it. The north practise Islam and this is the reason they are backward and frustrated.
The north needs to do away with Islam and embrace the light
I will not totally agree with you that it's the practice of Islam that's the cause Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Malaysia etc are all muslims nations but they are doing extremely very well u will never find any almaljiris system over there compared to northern nigeria. The real problem of north is the fulanis who wrongly uses Islam to impoverish, brainwash, control and enslave the indigenous large population of the north. All the ruling emirs in the north are all fulanis does it mean that other tribes like the hausas are not fit to also become emirs?
Flashyoil1: They are thousands of Nigerians in the streets of the LONDON protesting against the Nigerian government over killings, insecurity and proposed cattle colonies across the country, some video have emerge from scene and also some screenshot captured.
