At some point two days I observed higher lows on the H4 chart so went long. It turns out price started consolidating. Hell I even went short and lost 50 pips earlier so I would say I made 2 bad calls.

The long term trend is down and we are in a consolidation/ bullish flag phase

I am on the side lines for now

Gone are the days when I used to be a trader. As a trader then, I will make 100% in one week and get a margin call the next week.

I have discovered after many years in this business that my psychology can only withstand long term trades on higher time frames like 4 hours and above. I am no longer in a hurry to make millions. If I get 5% in a month, I see it as great success.

Bro, go research on risk to reward. Your trades are ratio 1:1. Risking 10pips for 10pips. Nxt time you should aim higher.

Expect great irregularities in pair movements this year. And only with focus and patience can make us explore in this year. Remember, brexit is there , never in any way trade against UK decisions when the time comes especially days after final voting (my opinion though). Reason is that history repeats itself. When there was EUR bail out several years ago, right in front of my eyes was EUR pairs jumping up, I thought I could catch retracements, but alas, for days to weeks, it was terrible bull and I lost heavyly. If I just leave it on buy after bail out after the announcement even with 100pips sl and came back after a month then, my money would have fetched me 10s of thousands of dollars even without adding positions.
I will tell you nothing but the truth, majority of fund managers will never buy or sell GBP pairs until final voting and announcement, then you will see wonders of market movements after brexit. American elections too later in the year. Only patience can keep that in shape.
May pips locate us all in aboundance.
