thanks for this info.. please how much did you pay for the flight? was it a round trip or was it a one way flight? i would love to know so as to book mine Asap, thanks.[/

Sorry for the delayed response. It was roundtrip $1200+ which amounted to N388,750. In all I paid N388,950 (inclusive of N200 bank charge in favour of gtb) let's just say N389,000. This was for Lag-Chicago roundtrip. I met folks who booked same flight through agents for 450k up. I advice u DIY. Etihad might be kool too.

go to wakanow dot com or travelstart dot com and the days you choose to travel will determine if it will be cheaper or not.

I came via Qatar weeks back. Booked on their website, and chose offline payment. I paid to their gtb bank accout with d flight details. I got my ticket confirmaton in my e-mail sameday. It was cheaper than wot i saw on wakanow n other agents. U can actually DIY. I paid an extra N200 bank charge to gtb.... It was that simple

I used my Nigeria master card on bookings. Com but mind you when you get here ur card won't work. You will have to pay with cash. Still have my money in my fist bank account. Paying by cash really set me back by hundreds of dollars. So come prepared

I have been on booking.com. did u get confirmation messages from the hotel or just the one you got from booking.com?

Ofcourse, female football in China is better than in England. You can only compare Chinese female league with that in the Scandanavian and a few other places but definitely not England. So she'll make more money and as well play better football.

hello if you can go for the 29th to return for the 9th you can get a fare for 418000 naira. but for that particular date it is above 500000 naira. also have you flown in through through chicago before and are you a first time traveller, the airport control in chicago airport is one of the strictest due to continua rival gang clash and violence. if cool with you you can fly in through new york then use land or train to chicago. for new york for your date you can get for 398000. all turkish air

Thanks for the info....I could do with the 29th - 9th option. Actually I am attending a conference in Chicago so that is my POE. I don't wanna go through any where else and get bounced on POE basis.

Hello House, 2017 shall favour us all. Yesterday 23/01/17 was my appointment at NIV Lagos. I was billed for 10:15 tho I got my chance earlier.

The VO had just dashed out yet another blue form this time to a man who came with his 4-5 year old kid. I noticed most of those being interviewed rested so much on their arms so I made up my mind to just stand upright. He beckoned on me and I moved forward majestically.

Kindly find my transcript below;

He did not do much typing. It was more of a give and take situation. And none of my documents was checked.

VO: Hello, how are you today?

ME: Good morning. Am good and u?

VO: I am good. Pass me your passport please. (Slid d passport in)
So where are you going to in America?

ME: Chicago Illinois

VO: What for?

ME: My company was invited to attend Bleep conference on Bleep and I have been directed by my employers to represent the company there.

VO: What exactly are you in Bleep Nig Ltd.?

ME: I am the producer and content sales manager. What I do as a producer is to outsource funding for inhouse and external productions from investors, and as a content sales manager I license movies to Cinema for theatrical release, video on demand platforms, cable and terrestrial tv.

VO: You say you outsource funding for productions?

ME: Yea

VO: How do you go about that? Tell me about the process.

ME: Ok. I write letters to potential financiers of movie projects, give them a template on how they could invest and recoup their money with profit. We have a way of inserting advertisement for them within the movie in a manner that its not so obvious its an advert.

VO: You mean like Product Placement?

ME: Exactly

VO: Ok. Are you married?

ME: Yes I am. I have a beautiful wife and two wonderful daughters A&B. A will be 8 on July 3 while B will be 2 on July 25. I hope to have another kid this year especial as A recently accused me of Child Over-spacing between her and her younger sister. I don't know where she heard that.

VO: (faint smile) Hmm. What is your salary?

ME: 3*# thousand Naira after all deductions.

VO: Have you travelled out of Nigeria before?

ME: Yes I have. I was in SA for my younger brother's graduation from the Flight Training College in George. I went to Dubai for shopping with my wife just before our wedding. I travel to Cameroon regularly because my step-mum lives there so I check on her from time to time, and I was part of the team in my previous place of work that travelled to China to inspect blank media ....

VO: ...For distribution

ME: Yea

VO: Pick up your VISA in three business days (passes me the white paper)

ME: Thank you

VO: And enjoy you trip

ME: Thank you so very much.

I was interviewed by the guy in window 3. All I saw coming out of his window was blue from when I did biometrics till I found myself infront of him. Dat lady in Window 1 is something else. I kept hearing her say "sorry but you are not qualified for this visa at the moment...."

Great thanks to every1 who has shared his or her transcript here. It helped a great deal. I am another silent reader.

Hartson, what about future growth area? Creative industries is in that category. I should think masscom should fit in there. Just like me with Performing Arts/Film. Plz help check it out and clarify. I saw on the self assessment grid bonus points for occupations and qualifications that fall under future growth area.

1. Yes Segbas, although IELTS won't add to your points, it is compulsory for main applicant, spouse and all dependents 16 yrs of age and above.

2. For NZ, there is no POF reqirement for now. This is a first hand info from close folks who have crossed the huddle already.

segbas:
Hello my people,
I want more light on NZ things here;
1. Is it cumpolsory for PA and Spouse to take IELTS?
2. How much will one need to show as POF for family of 5? I can't find it on this thread. Pls tell me.

Please help your boy out here.

Cameroon is a bilingual country. I had my secondary education there entirely in English. If u speak English think of staying in the two anglophone regions (North West and South West provinces). For french speakers the other provinces will do. If u speak both french and English then its a PASSEPARTOUS

bullseye90:
Cameroon is a francophone country. Try learn n speak French if u intend visiting for ease in communication.

@Reviane.....is future direction of labour same as future growth area? U r right abt concentrating effort on gettn a Job from outside NZ

revlane:
NZ is indeed a realizable dream especially since POF is not yet compulsory but the major issue is getting a job from outside NZ. This is where i think we should concentrate our effort. Am still researching and i think we should be on the look out for any Nigerian in NZ who can provide a link or useful info on getting a job.
For those of us not on the skill shortage or future direction of labour, we really need the help.

@ hartson, thanks for the NZ job website.

@Yomi....
Thnx....
I think esol Has to b prepaid. Costs 6000 NZD Or so. Dat amount is Huge. I think Its best to just give ielts Some money n Hope for d best. We will all make it.

Howzit going Hartson?

yomifowe:

Thanks. Ill look into your suggestion. I was looking at it from another angle. Since the payment from ESOL would before arrival, that wold be added to the overall cost of travelling, which i think wold not be as difficult. That's my thought.
