First let me make it clear;The argument is someone telling another person here that the whole family should forget America if one of them was deported for breaking visa rules which progress69 called a blantant lie and which i also affirm as a blantant lie.

I assisted 11 people b/w Apri and May to fill the DS-160 form with my sister's wedding in view and by the grace of God 7 of them got their visas including a 31 years old single lady. My cuz that applied with his mum was denied while his mum was given. The other 2 also applied as father sponsoring son but were denied for reasons i don't know then the last one was my friend who previously applied in another European country and was denied, he was also denied in Nigeria for reasons yet to be understood. 7 out of 11 is a good one Those are the only 4 that didn't get the Visas. Talking of filling the DS-160 form have filled it several times. There is no where anyone asks u how your siblings got to America. In fact no option for siblings. What we have there is Parents and immediate relatives which could be fiance,child,sibling,spouse. When u click yes is when it asks for name and address of the so called relative and the relationship with u, then the Status of the person. Once u are done with that it is straight to work/training/Sch. So i don't know where u got the bolded from.

I forgot to add. I sat with a racist on the plane to Texas. Lol!
From the moment he saw i was to sit by him. I saw his countenance and immediately knew he was a racist. As we were in the air..he started complaining that I was using my body to touch him. I adjusted abit....and ignored him. As God will have it, he dozed off and used his orange head to hit my shoulders, Omo if u see as i flare up, hey bro, u sit up ok and never hit me with your head again(forming ascent). The way i talked with my voice raised, everyone close looked at our direction. The flight attendant nearby came to ask what was wrong, i told her, tell this guy here to put his head straight up and not hit me again cos he complained a couple of mins ago my body was touching him while im just sitting like everyone else ( i was forming ascent) . I stood up immediately to the rest room, everyone around immediately knew what was going on, one particular white guy, winked and smiled at me. U need to see the face of the racist...it was red with anger....the guy nor fit sleep again.

Landed @ JFK Terminal 7 around 8:45am.
The airport was very less busy. Just our flight in the terminal.

And about 20-30 minutes it was out turn

CBP: Why are you here?( Was flipping throughy passport looking for visas)
Me: Vacation

CBP : Are you staying with anyone?
Me : No we got a place to stay.

CBP: put your fingers on the machine and took my photograhp too and GBAM the Big Stamp

Next he tooK Wifey's passport checked for VISA and also looked to see if its really her. Did her bio metric and GBAM the
CBP: What food item do you have
ME: Its Sausage ... Gala to be precise. Do you know Gala i asked him.


And off we went to get our bags and that took 1 minute. Next was the second CBP section. They took the form and asked us to see the Agric guys.

They asked what we had again and we told them which bags had the Gala. they scanned all bags and after which they askwd us to open. They tool the Gala out and the guy saw chewing stick looked at it oooooo and gave it back.

and Off we went. Welcome to America.

There was this Lady CBP elderly woman she just dey send people go secondary my mind cut small make i not lie. Na wife just dey ginger me sef.

Today was a day to remember..
We were to travel to Tx via IAD, that's Washington Dulles intl airport.
Ok...i tried to check in online and discovered that we had to pay for backages we wanna check in. We only had space for a little carryone not even full size. This was what we selected unknowingly cos it was cheap. United airlines.
So we had to reshuffle our Luggages, that tooj some time...then we headed to the Airport from Maryland. My inlaw was driving too fast...so he got pulled d over and was given a ticket. He was 20miles faster. That took us some time too. U need to see how the police guy was damn so respectful. Using Sir all tru.
Well we got to the airport...quickly checked in..in our rush.. My inlaw checked the wrong boarding gate. We headed to the wrong gate and realised on getting there. Men see Airport. We had to wait for a train that comes every 4 minutes to take us to whichever gate we heading. We are really backward in Nigeria. Damn!!!
Well we asked and had to rush back...took a train heading to the right gate. After getting off...u start another journey... Looking for the gate. We got to where all thr Ds are and realised we had to take a shuttle again. The shuttle are also working with programmed scheduled time. Well we entered and the driver shut the doors at the exact time and ledt to the section where D and others gates with D are. Now we had to start looking for our right D, Which is D-1. Another journey again. (Airport big no be small) We ran just to meet up...unfortunately....the boarding door was gate was shut. We could see them detaching the tunnel from the plane. WE MISSED THE FLIGHT. Note we have so many gates A,B,C,D......and ao on and each gates have numbers some over 50. You have to go to the exact one on the ticket.if its B-52. U look for B-52, there are signs to guide. Thats how big the airport is. The United official spoke nicely and told us to go to the customer service. We did and oh yeah...they got another flight for us for free. We were re-routed tru Chicago, 1hr30mins flight., then we had a 1hr lay over. Getting to Chicago..time changed by an Hour. Thats the 1hr lay over. After which we boarded and landed in Dallas.in 1hr 57mins.

Lol.Where y'all got ur assumptions and fake informations from...only God knows. That people don't lie about relatives abroad is the figment of your imaginations. U should stop arguing about things u av little knowledge about. One of the lies told after monthly income is not having a relative abroad. Most have the wrong notion that indicating u have a relative abroad reduces ur chances while others click the No cos they really don't know the status of the so called relative. I really dont know how this is related to the argument cos it was about u telling someone they should forget about America for life if their sister breaks immigration laws. That ones sister broke immigration laws and was deported does not deter any of her relatives from applying and getting a visa except he or she committed a terror related offence where proper vetting will be done before visa can be issued to a relative of such. As a matter of fact Most of the non criminal deportations just carry a ban of 5 years after which such can apply for a visa again. If u think there is a computer program not to even mention a human VO that actually check if any of ur relatives have been deported for a non criminal offence like just breaking visa rules...all i can do is LOL. For ur info once anyone has gained entry...its is very difficult to be deported just like that especially if the individual have not committed any serious criminal offence....cos he/she still have a right to an immigration lawyer and an immigration hearing. Some of this hearings takes years. No one is encouraging anyone to break visa rules.....but correcting wrong notions is also Paramount. Why trying to talk some sense into clowns that ask funny questions publicly u don't need to exaggerate and pass wrong info in the process.

. Na internet. Who has time to be looking if one of ur sisters have been sent back before. What if u don't bare same surname cos of marriage or what if u had a change of name. They only go through all this stress in countries on terrorist watch where serious vetting are done. Even at the point of entry, its mostly when u are flagged for secondary inspection they start finding out all this funny infos. If they have to be confirming every bodies siblings even with a computer, i wonder how long they will use per person both at the embassy and point of entry. The Queue go long pass 3rd mainland beidge. This whole America thing is really not a big deal as it is always painted by some people on NL.

Not sure she even pulled out our form online cos she didn't even ask anything about it. All the questions i was expecting being an adult with my bro..like where do u work.blabla...nothing. Na so we enter yankee o. All the preps j ad fear amounted to nothing

The journey wasn't funny at all.
Menh...Turkish airlines are very ok. I don't know why people run from them. The cabin crew were working almost all tru. Dem wan kill.person with food. Always asking u care for anything. From tea to coffee, juice, beer, wine...even shots of strong drink.
Well it was like 6:30 hours to Istanbul, journey was smooth but tiring. Just saw one movie. We were 5 traveling as a family. We utilized all our baggage allowance. We had 10big bags in total and 5 hand luggages. Trust US people... They want to sew this and that, bring this and that. Despite all the warnings not to carry too many load...omo, we carry am. We con be like who win visa lottery. Customs immigration and co...corrupt people. Dem say dem nor fit check all these bags oo. Make dem check 2 pass the rest..make we bless them . Smh. Immigrations to stamp us out delayed abit cos of my lil cuz. Had to go to their supervisor with the consent letter and all. I forgot to mention i bought hand scale... I measured all bags b4 we left home. The airlin officials were surprised that all bags no matter how big..was just on point. 23kg or a lil lesser. We were to have 1.45hrs layover but as we landed...by the time we got to our boarding gate...omo...they av boarded. We even sat down....thinking we can relax...na si dem shout..ur plane us about leaving...u want to sit...omo na so we jump up o. No much questions asked..straight to the plane. This time na Oyinbo full am....with my 5 member family...we were less than 10 Blacks. Lol. 10hrs 20mins journey began. No be smal thing. I tire!! When they announced we were in JFK and about to land. My mind started raising..the loads, money doesn't look adequate for 5 people, my lil cuz. All the stories i av read on NL. We joined the queue and i was thinking. Our turn

We got 9 boxes...one was missing. We looked for it and didn't see it. So we had to go to the next point handed over the card. Directed us to where they will check food...we were scanning all bags....they guy just said...dont worry about the rest.( dem nor get time.. Lol). They checked the foods... Allowed all to pass and we are out.

Went to report missing bag. Well they founf it 4 days after and used Fedex to send it. It was intact!

Parents went to MD, while me,my bro and lil cuz to Boston.

We are reuniting on Friday. Wedding is Sat in MD.

I told my little cousin's mum, my aunt about having a consent letter. Well she scanned her divorce paper issued by Ikeja high court which also granted her sole custody of my lil cousin. She also sent a consent letter with both her Ghana and Nigerian Address and both Ghana and Nigerian phone number becos she shuttles b/w Ghana and Nigeria. Is this ok? We all applied for passports and visas same time(with my lil cousin)..family of 5 and were issued. We were to go to Tx before but didn't make it. Now we are going for my younger's sis wedding in MD. We have so many traditional attires belonging to my sis, her hubby's family, and the family we were to visit in Tx before. U know everyone wants new natives when they see someone coming. We also have souvenirs with my sis and her hubby names printed on it...in fact that contains 2 boxes already. We have the photo album of their traditional wedding here too and video. We are taking all this along. We also have thr IV of the white wedding in the US. Our return tickets is 6 weeks cos we decided on a family vacation after the wedding because we may not have time to be together as a fimily in a long time again. Where we will stay all tru have already been put in place by my inlaws, and they will he picking us up. I am concerned about the length of stay cos of my lil cuz in particular. She is technically done with primary sch..but still going for basic 6 clases to while away time cos she has already been admitted in a secondary sch to resume jss1 later this year.hope we wont have issues because of her schooling in relation to length of stay? There will be practically no one home to even stay with her..besides its unfair to leave her behind while we go on vacation/wedding. Whats ur take?

The most important thing to know about your visa is the visa category.. I believe the visa you applied for is B1/B2 which means you can visit U.S for tourism,visiting and sometimes conference. I see no big deal in shelving your plans but you must have a good reason for doing that.

if I'm right your plan is to land in JFK and fly to your actual destination which is not a bad idea but you must have your ticket confirmed to your onward destination in U.S before you leave Nigeria which simply means buy your ticket for your inward travel in U.S before leaving naija they will ask for it.
You must get a letter of consent from your little cousin dad and mom before traveling with her and they must be available to receive phone call in case they called them not just in U.S but your connecting country... if possible hold a copy of the parent ID card,little cousin birth certificate and letter of consent from the parent.
If you have a good reason for not going to Texas then say it... I'm sure that shouldn't be a reason for them to return you.

I got my tourist visa late Nov last year. Applied as a family, with my dad, little 10 years old cuz (she stays with my parents),mum and younger bro. We were to attend a wedding in Texas December but time to meet up was not on our side plus dollars issue then. Baring in mind that my sis was gonna also wed this year, we decided to wait, Now my sis wedding is in May and in Maryland precisely. Booked tickets already, and we decided to come in tru JFK cos the lay over if we were to come in through Washington state airport which is closer to our destination, we have 9hrs layover inbound, and 22hrs layover outbound, but via JFK its less than 2hrs inbound and less than 8hrs outbound.
Does it matter we didn't make it to Texas before?
My little cousin does not bare our surname, but she has been staying with us. She is my mum's younger sis daughter. Does this matter? Her parents her divorced, father in UK, and mother elsewhere. She Will be traveling with us. We intend to stay 6 weeks as it is a wedding plus family vacation. We will be visiting, Boston, Texas too within this period after the wedding. The family that we were to visit and stay for the daughters wedding will all be coming for the wedding too from Texas and are the same family we will be visiting in Texas.
