Yashita:If you are a scholarship student, then Campus France will assist you with a CROUS accommodation. If you are a self sponsored student, then you should seek the help of your school or the international desk of your school in getting accommodation. Getting accommodation has always been difficult, but you have to ask people within your school, especially your programme cordinator. |
Our Planet Says Thank You, when you do the following: I just returned from an Energy and Environmental School, and here are some of the things that a vast majority of people are doing to protect our planet and reduce carbon emissions (CO₂) in Europe—things that are not yet in our mainstream discussions. Let’s be honest, our weather is changing significantly in Nigeria. In fact, this year, many of you did not really experience the harmattan season like we used to. There has been a noticeable increase in heat in Nigeria. The good news is that we can all be intentional and committed to improving our environment and protecting the future. So here are simple lifestyle changes you can make, and our Planet Earth would be so proud of you: 1. Use more public transport (Beware of one chance in Abuja and Lagos): For every 1 km of travel, a typical passenger car emits roughly 100–200g of CO₂, depending on the vehicle and fuel type. In contrast, trains and mass transit systems emit significantly less per passenger—sometimes as low as 4–20g CO₂ per km per person. If you are based in Lagos, even if you own a car, try to use the rail system or other shared transport systems such as buses. Reducing the number of cars on the road directly reduces emissions. CO₂ emissions contribute to global warming by trapping heat within the Earth’s atmosphere. As you go to church, park your car, use your leg or public transport system. Help save our planet. 2. Never burn or support the burning of tyres: The average weight of a car tyre is around 8–10 kg. Burning tyres releases not just CO₂, but also toxic pollutants and black carbon, which are extremely harmful to both human health and the environment. During festive periods, the burning of tyres significantly worsens air quality. Every unnecessary emission contributes to climate change, which affects agriculture, weather patterns, and sea levels. Rising sea levels are largely responsible for the floods we experience during rainy seasons which leads to loss of lives and homelessness as people are forced to vacate their homes. 3. Choose Fish, Reduce Meat: This is a difficult shift to make, but the impact is massive. Consider this: a single cow can consume over 70kg of fresh grass daily. While plants and grasses are essential for absorbing CO₂ and releasing oxygen, the livestock industry is a leading driver of methane emissions (which is 28 times more potent than CO₂) and deforestation. By reducing our meat intake, we directly lower the demand for industrial farming that depletes our planet’s resources and even increase security for the sake of our country. Many people in Europe are now making this conscious effort—not necessarily as strict vegetarians, but as people who understand the ecological cost of their plate. Also, as your demand for cows and their meat increases, you are directly supporting farmer herders crisis. There is a community in Ebonyi State (Afikpo LGA) that banned the sale of cow meat to avoid the constant farmer herder crisis. Let’s protect our ecosystems and preserve our green spaces by making smarter protein choices. 4. Plant More Trees: Infrastructural development is leading to the rapid depletion of our forests. Yet, one mature tree absorbs an average of 22kg of CO₂ per year and release the life-giving oxygen we breathe. I encourage you to plant trees and flowers wherever you can. For each building approval issued, LGAs should enforce the planting of atleast one economic tree. Your planet says, "Thank you!" 5. Transition from Firewood to Gas: Save up and provide cooking gas for your parents. Encourage them to move away from firewood and toward cleaner energy like cooking gas. The continuous release of CO₂ and smoke from burning biomass is damaging our immediate environment and our parents' respiratory health faster than you realize. There are better ways to use wood—such as extracting the carbon for clean energy or soil enrichment—rather than simply burning it. Let’s support our families in making this vital switch. This is my Sunday sermon to you. May God bless you as you make these lifestyle changes to save our planet. Earth says, "Thank you!" @olawalebabs, @Richiez, @Fynestboi

Kandas:Drop your email and I will contact you. When I do, I will mention it here. |
Kandas:You have to be careful. A lot of scammers are everywhere here. |
Kandas:No bro. My email is not active, don't have access to it. |
Kandas:Hello bro, Please share your number and I will reach out to you sir. |
aworatak:I agree with you very well. For instance, Enugu added revenues from hospitals and schools while Anambra does not include those as revenue. If Anambra or other states such as Ebonyi implements that, their revenue will rise so high. |
adeniranfam:No. |
hunee:I don't think the emboldened is true. If you are going for a PhD, you can apply for the Talent - Research Visa. The difference with the student visa is that with this visa type, your family can join you without needing much documents and they can work if they are above 18 years. Additionally, you'd be given an initial 3 months visa. When you arrive in France (within the 3 months), you will apply for a resident permit and you will be given a 3 years visa. This way, you won't need constant yearly visa renewal. Most research is treated as work, and you will sign an agreement with the lab/school that would be hosting you - contract/research agreement. Lastly, I have a scholarship, that also helped. There's nothing special about me bro. |
hunee:Good evening bro. I hope these words are not for me? I am doing my best and not aspiring for anything beyond me. I am not as good as you think. |
onile1975:Thanks. I submitted the following documents for a research visa: 1. Admission Letter 2. Research Agreement 3. Convention D'Accueil. This is same as (2) above only that this agreement is a form from the embassy. It will be signed by the researcher and the school representative 4. Proof of funding 5. Award Letter 6. Proof of Accommodation (This was an attestation because I don't yet have an accommodation) 7. Insurance (Three months) 8. Flight reservation 9. Motivation Letter 10. Access to the lab. This for me was important even though with or without it, the outcome would have been the same. 11. Evidence of CVEC enrolment. Basically, I added every document that I have. Didn't want to give room for "had it been I added this or that." |
Fathy001:Thank you. I submitted in Abuja and it's usually faster here. |
hunee:Already stated my timeline. See below: Timeline: Booking date: Monday 22/09/2025 Appointment date: Tuesday 23/09/2025 Collection date: Friday 26/09/2025 Not a frequent traveller bro. Where poor man like me dey travel to? |
mrphysics:I have just collected my passport with my multi entry Talent/Research Visa appended. Thank you all for the support and information shared. God bless |
Chelseaboy101:I see. I just received mail that my document is ready for collection. Timeline: Booking date: Monday Appointment date: Tuesday Collection date: Friday (today) All within this week. I don't know the outcome but I am hopeful that it's positive |
Chelseaboy101:Yes, to do this, you have to delete the application made for Lagos. Once you delete it, then you will be able to apply for Abuja. If you have submitted that of Lagos, then it's not possible to delete it again, you will have to wait for 15 days post creation date when it will be automatically deleted from their system. I submitted my document on Tuesday, I made the booking on Monday. I think you can get a next day appointment in Abuja except if things have changed. |
sanyaolurilwan:Wishing both of us the best bro. |
sanyaolurilwan:Abuja is faster, you can get a response within one week. For Lagos, it can get up to 20 working days. |
mrphysics:Update This morning I was able to submit this application and booked an appointment for tomorrow. I think their portal has issues especially for Abuja applicants. Additionally, I learned through the security guard I took his number at the TLS Office that applications that are up to 15 days without appointment date are deleted automatically. That explains why I couldn't find my application on Saturday morning. Thank you for your support guys. Hoping for a smooth process going forward. |
Preator:No, dates come out, but after selection, it doesn't move to the next stage. Last night, I woke up to check only to not find my application again. Got deleted. I tried to initiate a new one but it says my passport and visa reference is linked to another group. Yet I can't find the group. It's just getting complex |
I am still unable to book my appointment on TLSContact website. When I get to the stage of selecting the appointment time, I get stuck. Can't move forward and the error has always been the same (see the attached image). Is there anyone experiencing this? I tried to create a new account but I discovered that it flags my passport number - that it already exists. I don't know if I will get the same message if I use Lagos TLSContact.
|
Dottune:Alright. I asked because I tried both midnight and early morning but nothing changed. I had earlier gone for the appointment but couldn't proceed to submit because the embassy requested for a specific document which I had but not signed. So I couldn't proceed. But now, I have the document signed and ready only to experience this again. In August, I remembered encountering similar issue but not as severe as this. |
Dottune:Was this recently? I mean the time you made this booking? |
hunee:No, Abuja is always faster than Lagos. You will most likely get a response within 2 weeks. A friend got his documents within 4 days |
I have been trying to book an appointment on the TLS Contact portal but have not been successful. I keep getting one error message. This has persisted for about 2 days now. I have sent an email to them but got no response. Called their customer service number, and it didn't go through. I even visited their office but was not allowed to enter - because all inquiries are done online. I think the TLS Contact renders a very poor service. Their website is below par. It's only used to book appointment, I don't know any other service it renders that makes it keep having issues. There's always a high chance it will be done. Is there anyone in my shoes? |
Yashita:Book appointment using the TLSContact. The VFS does not process French visa applications anymore. Check the link below, join it together by removing the spaces: https : //visas-fr. tlscontact. com/ en-us/ |
Ajibade123:Bro I will soon start my PhD journey documentary. Stay tuned |
Marianwao:Sure, wishing you all the best with God's Great Grace. |
Source of your information. The moderators would need this to move it to the front page |
Starboytwo:Interesting. The cost is something else. Abuja vehicle renewal is 25k including insurance. Vehicle owners can renew their vehicle license anywhere regardless of the state of their plate number. It's insane paying 95k to renew in Lagos when you can do same for less in Abuja, Anambra or even Ogun State. |
Skydivine:I don't think it's in ft because I did another survey for someone else and the recommended 70m is where there is water saturation. |
Expert view please. The water survey result came out, I have attached the 3D image. However, in their recommendation, they suggested drilling 65m +-10, however when I check the image, at 65, there is no presence of water. Can someone else look at it and advise. Thanks.
