trigger11:Thank you so much bro. The support from you guys helped me alot. |
Hi guys, Since we started this together, I wish to inform you all how it's going. For the past few months, I have given myself to the internship and I finished first week of this month, 2 months away from the official end date. The internship remains the my best experience so far. I had a very good supervisor who even doubled as a brother. He exposed me to all the tools I need to have a say in the Reactor Physics Field. He was open to teach, guide and help me whenever I am stuck. My supervisor was impressed with my commitment and passion. I did what he never expected we could do and the results were amazing. Our results in the second part compares perfectly well with what a very well known expert in the topic did last year with different tool, code, and method. He was so excited with what I got and the told me he will give me the highest of the grades. He even told me to apply for the best masters thesis in the place I did my internship. He's even looking out for opportunities for me and wished he had PhD topic and grant to work on. Doing the internship in Belgium Nuclear Research Institute exposed me to the forefront of research. I had all the computational tools to my disposal and my supervisor helped in teaching me as much as I am willing to learn. I finished more confident and happy that I achieved the thesis objectives and more. Even my school supervisor was happy with my results. So from now and until the end of August, I will continue to write my thesis. I already have the first draft just to make it more professional and less than 30 pages requested by the school. My supervisor even promised to help me write some parts of my thesis. I told him not to. I will do my best while he edits it. My thesis topic is a benchmark program of the IAEA and as such, it's not yet open to the public and I happen to be the first to finish the work. So this is how it went guys. How are you all doing ![]() |
No 1. I don't have time for the rest. And I hope I didn't make mistake anywhere

MarvelJ:It's normal bro. Keep sending, don't get tired. Try other countries too. |
A simple public search on the CAC portal reveals the tech giant has kickstarted the process of registering their company in Nigeria. CAC search reveals two names: Twitter Nig. LTD and Twitter Technologies Nig. LTD currently under registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission. One of them should definitely be that of Twitter Inc. Anyone can confirm by visiting https://search.cac.gov.ng/home and searching with the name: Twitter.
|
MarvelJ:When you google IMT Atlantique, the website will appear. Check the different research units of the school, write the professors. It's just the normal way bro. There's no other special way. But you shouldn't expect a response from most professor especially if there are not taking any PhD candidate. The response rate is generally less than 1%. It's normal. I wish you the best bro. |
Juicethekid:Yes you do. You also need a VPN. You will need it in 3 instance. 1. During gig final verification before gig goLive. 2. The instance you want to make your first Fiverr withdrawal 3. Any time you want to reply a support email. If you decide to proceed with a US account, take note of the above. I use a Nigerian account, so I don't care much about the above. |

Focusmind:That means you are in your early 40s, your wife in her late 20s, and her mama in her mid 40s ![]() |
generationz:It depends on the number of words. |
Xbee007:It is active bro but I don't receive any message(s) from new clients. |
generationz:Sure. But don't know what happened lately. My gig isn't visible to clients anymore. |
Ndipe:Those are local government tax. |
pascal558:You are right bro. The major problem is not even the tax but the fact that the money/revenue is not well used by government. They use it to empower their party faithful, award contracts to themselves. If politicians utilize revenue from tax in enhancing or even building industries to employ more people, it would have been much better. |
Bouz:Read my previous responses bro. The guy is liable to the above taxes. Most of these businesses evade tax even when they make profit. For his tax to get up to 200k, you should know he's making profit (well, I don't know shaaa). But when tax enforcers clamps on them, they seek for stories like this. If truly he's not making profit, then the blame is on the field agents. Normally, they are told to avoid little businesses so as not to kill it. But if you are making gains, the state would want to benefit from it. For instance when you buy a land and want to register same, the taxes and fees you are supposed to pay is beyond you. It's very big. Lots of them on those legal documents. But I tell my colleagues to only request for Stamp duty on Power of Attorney, Deed of Sale and nothing more. Otherwise, it will be too much. |
SeaTrade:Consumption tax is different from Valued added tax. For simplicity sake, I will make it simple. VAT is added to goods and is paid bottom up. The producers add VAT amount on the prices. Most on alots of goods save raw materials. Consumption tax is a tax on individuals on consumption of goods and services on certain places like hotels, restaurants, event centers, etc. It's previously called Hotel and Restaurant Consumption tax. Because it's charged on businesses like this. The Act and Levies Act recognises it and gives states the competence to collect this regardless of how your business is incorporated. The High court in Lagos upheld the states Hotel occupancy and restuarant consumption tax and this was even prior to 2015 before the taxes and levies act was amended to effectively collect it. This is the case of Lagos State Attorney General vs Registered Trustee and hotel owners. Ogun state lost their case in Ogun state vs Nigerian bottling company because, the court held that the said tax was on the company selling beers not on individual consuming same. Lol. |
tobatele:I don't understand what you mean by sane climate? They are different tax and tax laws. Nigerian tax is even one of the cheapest. Regardless, he's liable to pay for some tax depending on what he does. I often advise businesses to know the necessary taxes they are liable to to forestall government clampdown on them. When you see Lagos topping in revenue generation, how do you think they earn it? It's tax. If the said business is properly registered, he can file for minimum tax if he's not making profits or go get tax exempts. States are all out. I have been to lots of states in this regards and all states are out for it. The problem here is that there are some business that should be allowed to grow. You can't even say if the guy is doing well but refused to pay tax and when they came for him, he took the side of emotions and pity. |
Dear NazareneMonk, I am sorry about your friends situation. As someone who has knowledge of Nigerian tax systems and works with states board of internal revenue in implementing tax solutions, I will try to explain your friends obligation to states tax wise. Aside other levies, depending on what your friend registered his business as, his tax goes to either state or federal government. i.e. if your friend registered his business in CAC as a company and not a business name, his company tax goes to FG via FIRS, but if he incorporated his business with CAC as a business name, he is liable to pay tax to states. If the said business is not registered at all, he remains an individual who pays tax to State board of internal revenue. Regardless of any of the above, consumption tax is a tax on individual. Hotels, motels, event centers, bars, etc. pay consumption tax on anything and everything sold therein. The taxes and levies Act (2015) empowers states to charge 5% on people when they spend money in the above listed lines of business. So the tax is charged on individuals consuming services on your friends or your business. Let me break it down. If for example your friend: 1. Sell 20 Cartons/crates of 33 worth 50k in a month, his consumption tax on 33 = N2500 2. Sell 35 Cartons/crates of Hero worth 70k in a month, his consumption tax on Hero = N3500 ... 3. Sell Peppersoup/food/anything eatable worth 100k in a month, his tax on food = N5000 Total of consumption tax for that month on those activities are = N11,000. If he hasn't paid for a year, this is N11k x 12 = N132,000 plus accrued fine for defaulting. This is possibly what those from board of internal revenue did before giving him his bill. If they didn't do the above, he should get his books and account statements ready and take it to them. Aside the above, states are trying to increase their revenues. They don't tax individuals directly except on lands, but business like this get taxed. I often tell my colleagues in the field to go to big businesses or established businesses and leave start ups like your friends business. For instance, the tax we collect for FG, we don't visit little companies but companies handling contracts for FG and we do this mostly via MDAs where the accountant general of the federal has issued a memo mandating MDAs to deduct all taxes at source before paying them their profit. Your friend's business as an entity is also obligated to pay income tax depending on how it's incorporated in CAC. So if he's not registered as a company (RC), he should have no business with anyone from FIRS. If he receives such people let him know they are fraudulent or don't understand Nigerian tax jurisdictions. The entity/company income tax (company here can be Business Name, registered company or incorporated trustee, BN, RC, IT respectively, the last (IT) does not pay tax) now depends on his income and expenditure. Aside the above tax, only people from local government can request for him to pay other levies like shop registration or fee, which shouldn't be much. This is my view about your friend's situation. States are broke and some of these tax enforcers are given targets to meet. So they go to little businesses like this. |
sonnie10:Yes bro. Been going through your comments here. Nice one. |
nurain150:Your knowledge of the nuclear medicine is very low and is inadequate to indulge me in this discussion. During my training, we were told not to specialize or seek a career in the nuclear medicine as doctors and pharmacists usually claim to lead the medical field. Only one person specialized in nuclear medicine and another whom we had partly same lectures (he didn't even take specialized courses with us) is currently doing his internship in Austria (Vienna) in the nuclear medicine unit of a hospital. I would have done my masters thesis in the Nuclear Medicine unit of National Hospital Abuja (that was the last option, I was already communicating with the director who is a medical doctor but had further studies in the nuclear medicine field in South Africa). During my training, we explored advanced ways of administering radioisotopes to patients. For cancer treatment, we studied in advanced nuclear technology ways to make measurements to reach the exact target depending on what we want to achieve. There's something called Matrix of an linear accelerator (Which is used in transporting radioisotopes from it's production to the deposit site. I have attached some of the simulations we did in studying the propagation of rays in the human body and the various interactions that exist. I won't share more, but for you to know what I know about radioisotopes as used in proton therapy, x-ray, and imaging, etc (I don't know much self in this area), it will take you some time bro. Now tell me who needs to be a janitor in nuclear medicine unit of any hospital?
|
nurain150:Stop saying what you don't know bro. Doctors only interpret the result. Pharmacists sell the barium. If it's other isotopes, your security clearance level won't even allow you to see the isotope in the first place. Every big hospital such as National Hospital have a Nuclear Medicine unit. Others have radiology centers where radioisotopes are kept in close monitoring. The administration of it is purely done there. You don't sell radioisotopes used for medical reasons in the pharmacy. Since you know close to nothing about the working of radioisotopes in the human body, what stops you from selling your normal drugs and forget about this competition. Or is the only one you know the barium chalk? Because from your response above, it is clear you don't even know what's happening after taking Barium chalk. ![]() |
nurain150:Oga I will know more in radiology than you. Radioisotopes have no expiry date. They are used for radio imaging like xray. Works with the half life. When swallowed, after the half life, half of it will disintegrate, release energy in as photons. This energy can be captured by an xray machine. |
nurain150:Radiopharmacy is still not lucrative especially in Nigeria or even around the world. This area is still under development. |
Enculer:Though I don't fully agree with you. But the course is very lucrative. He should think of radiology, nuclear medicine, etc. The high rate of cancer is making it very useful these days. Also, radiation based imaging used in airports and also in ports could be handled by a radiographer. Upon graduation one should look for internship. And even specialize further. Both course can give you money immediately after graduation but Pharmacy is faster in terms of recruitment as everyone and anyone is now into pharmacy business especially community pharmacy |
Boyhood:Lol, thanks bro. I am even working with some of these libraries. The Evaluated Nuclear Data File (ENDF) library is the US library of nuclear cross section data. In my internship, I am using the ENDF library. There's also the JEFF library and the rest. The source of the data is from NJOY, an experiment that feeds the cross section data. Would be interesting to learn more theoretical stuff about the library though I know some things already. But I can't join because it's physical. Lol Thanks again boyhood. Waiting for your adulthood. Lol |
nitrogen:Yes, currently doing my internship. Again, I do have a plan of immigrating to an English speaking country. To better have a career in the Nuclear Industry, due to it's technicalities, having a PhD is very important. I am looking out for PhDs in English speaking countries. Canada's Nuclear Reactor design (CANDU is sort of a unique design. Only India uses same reactor design. We were not thought more of it but then the entire idea is the same. Sure, I know about SMRs. Currently, I am working on one. SMRs are still in research and experimental stage. They run on fast spectrum and are able to breed their own fuel and minimize waste. They are the so called Gen. IV reactors. In my internship, I am working on a Sodium Fast Reactor, it's an experimental reactor. They generate power up to 300MW. Nigeria should adopt this approach to nuclear. |
Achilles100:Exactly bro. I started the movie due to the review I got from this thread. I kept forcing myself to keep watching it maybe I will see what others saw in the movie. Season two and my view remained the same. |
I seem to be the only one that doesn't give Peaky Blinders the review others give. The movie isn't as interesting as people make it seem. Season two now and I aren't thrilled. I will prefer Ozarks over and over again |
Weird but might be a prophesy when exam starts. |
I refer to the previous thread https://www.nairaland.com/6403375/missing-grace-god-church-pastor Grace of God Mission (GGM) Pastor Still Missing More than 42 days after the disappearance of GGM's pastor Ikenna Kevin Nnadi filtered in doubtfully, he is yet to be seen by his family. All the Pastors and church members connected to this are on the run, avoiding assisting the police and his family to find Ikenna. He went for a church meeting at Utchi Ugboma, in Ndokwa East LGA of Delta State on the 3rd of February 2021. Subsequently, text messages were sent to Ikenna's elder brother that the boat he was traveling in with other church members capsized and of the 8 occupants of the speed boat only him has been missing. All effort by his family to ascertain from the GGM what exactly happened to Ikenna remained fruitless. He has been in that area for little over six years, pastoring. Ọkpai community is a difficult terrain to access and live in. This made the missing Pastor adopt the following measures; 1. Moved his family out of Ọkpai. 2. Always called his wife whenever he is leaving home, when he got to his destination, when he left his destination and when he got home. On the 3rd of February, he only called his wife when they were leaving for the church meeting to Utchi Ugboma, Ndokwa East, Delta State, but no other call till date. Since 3rd of February, the GGM never reported this incident to the police nor reached out to the family beyond text messages by an Ọkpai church member. Given all the above circumstances, the family had no other reasonable option than to brave it to Ọkpai on the 10th February in search of Ikenna. The family also reported the incident to Ashaka police Division. Two Deacons of GGM, who went to the meeting with him were taken to the police. One of the Deacons, on sighting the security vehicle ran into the bush. Unfortunately, he stumbled and fell, this gave the security personnel opportunity to catch up with him in the bush. The purported narrative is: 8 persons were in speed boat that capsized. Seven, including 3 women, were rescued, but pastor Ikenna was neither rescued nor his body recovered. The community and the church agreed not to report to the police. The family of the missing pastor, after seven days, reported the matter to Ashaka police Division, being the closest to Ọkpai. The community and the church have been angry with and threatening the family for reporting the matter to the police. They have been mounting pressure on the family to withdraw the case from the police. This compelled the family to cry out to the Inspector General of Nigeria Police. In the light of the level of the GGM's interest in finding pastor Ikenna and the helplessness of the affected family, the family is also crying out to the public to join us in asking the church as well as the police to unravel the mystery surrounding the missing Ikenna Kevin Nnadi, and to rescue him or recover his body. The founder of the church is a man of huge means and connection together with the massive network of his church. We appealed to them to use these massive means and network to find Ikenna, but they are more concerned with intimidating the family into grave silence. The public and the police remain the last resort of the family of the missing pastor. On the 10th of February, 2021, the family reported the matter to the Divisional police post, Ashaka, Ndokwa East, Delta State. And through the help of the Vigilante, the two members of the Church that went to the meeting with him were arrested. Ọkpai is a difficult terrain for the police as the community usually resist arrest violently, officers have lost their lives there. Subsequently, the boat driver and the Pastor that called the meeting at Utchi were also taken into custody at Ashaka police Division. The Divisional Police Officer of Ashaka approved the transfer of the matter to the State CID, Asaba on the 23rd February, 2021. On the 24th, the suspects were moved to the State CID. On the same day, the owner of GGM, Dr. Paul Nwachukwu called the family of Ikenna Nnadi. Like his son who called earlier, he was not concerned about his Pastor that has been missing for 3 weeks now. He was worried and expressed his strong displeasure why the family reported the matter to the police. This reinforced the family's resolve to seek stronger police intervention, and believed therefore that moving the case to the State CID Asaba was the right thing. The situation the family of Ikenna met at the State CID, Asaba indicated less to be desired, hence the family intensified their effort for Inspector General (IG) of Police to intervene and take over the matter. On the 10th of March, 2021, a team from Abuja came to take over the matter. To everyone's disappointment, the suspects have been released and up till now, 14th March, the State CID, Asaba has not been able to get the suspects. It was also discovered that no further investigation has been carried out before releasing them. Neither the church nor the community/boat owner/driver, reported to the police about the missing Pastor until the family sensing there is more to it and reported to the police after 7 days of the incident. Thus has the coloration of conspiratorial murder. Yet the State CID was comfortable releasing the suspects without further ado. Join us in asking Dr Paul Nwachukwu and the Grace of God Mission International to return Mr. Ikenna Kevin Nnadi to his family without further drama. In addition, the G.O of the church went to Benin as Zonal Police Headquarters of Delta to put up counter petition, not knowing that the family of the man already went to Abuja. The same G.O when they held his Asaba Zonal Pastor, told them that he thought the matter has been resolved. He was thinking that Benin has taken care of it. This pastor missing has been ordained as the church pastor since 2013. We also plead with you to support in effectively asking the Nigeria Police to unravel the mystery surrounding the disappearance of Ikenna Nnadi since 3rd of February 2021. Thank you so very much! mynd44 OAM4J |

You no well. My wife was 22 when I married her. Though I gave her up to 10years gap as i was 32 then. She just finished her final exams and was about going for NYSC. Her mum was 39 then and a teacher in a government school. Now, my wife is 29 and the mom is 46, still teaching.
