Education / How To Overcome Inferiority Complex by mrpoul(m): 5:01am On Nov 19, 2018
1. Concentrate more on yourself:
is not what others think about you that matter but rather what you think about yourself, quit thinking about what others will say and concentrate more on being yourself .
2. Understand the fact human is imperfect being:
Stop trying to be perfect in everything. understand the fact humans are born imperfect, don’t feel depress over what you did not do right, learn from wrong and move on
3. Get rid of imposter syndrome:
Get rid of that undeserving feeling. Believe that you deserve every good thing that is happening in your life. Accept the fact that, that beautiful girl loves you and you should be bold enough to love her back, don’t have the feeling like what does she sees in me? What could she possibly want from me? Imposter syndrome kill joy, change to I deserve the girl I’m intelligent enough for her.
4. Remember that people are humans also:
Understand that other have fear also, but most of them have been able to put their fear aside and come out of their shell.
5. Help other people overcome theirs:
Sometimes by assuming that other feel the same way like you do, and you trying to help them overcome their can really do the magic, you will try to look. Remember the saying ‘Do unto others what you would have them do unto you.’ So be generous and kind toward others who feel the same way you do. Try in making them feel comfortable. By doing so you will make yourself at ease thus reducing the feeling of inferiority complex.
6. Stop caring what others think:
Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt once said “no one can make you feel inferior without your consent”. Inferiority complex is a consequence of a constant consent of what other think about you, stop worrying about what other think about you because it is your opinion about yourself that matters and most at times their opinions are not real but are imaginary. So concentrate on your happiness.
7. Don’t compete with anybody:
Competition against others may result in depression, low esteem, understand that you are unique. Partying may not be your thing, staying indoors, playing video games may excite you, embrace that which works for you, embrace your unique nature, don’t compete with anyone but make sure you keep progressing. Be yourself.
8. Concentrate on your strength:
Concentrating on your strength like you might not have a good look but you are intelligent, why not harness your energy on being the best in your field? Try listing your positive attributes like you have a nice set of teeth, a nice shape, a nice leg and so on and concentrate on the things you have. Just like the saying count your blessings and name them one by one, do that and you will feel less inferior.
9. Take thing easily:
Don’t take life too serious, always have in mind that anything can happen. Expect little from life that way you won’t be surprise if thing do not go has plan consequently you won’t feel inferior to anyone. Try not to take things personal, you did something wrong, forgive yourself and move on
10. Let go of the idea of perfection:
They say “it is better late than never”. Don’t wait for the perfect time to act, there are no perfect time. Understand “perfection is an illusion”, inferiority complex is as a result of all always wanting to be perfect, which is not possible as a result of our human nature, the only thing we can do –is to do our best and expect it work out.
11. Know yourself:
No one can understand yourself better than you, so don’t take people definition about you, rather you should take your own definition about yourself. They say you are dull, rebuke them and believe you are smart. Keep on believing because the truth is that believe becomes reality. Understand yourself know what work for you and what does not work for, know your strength and weakness, know the area of your life that’s need improvement.

meobizy:
Your thoughts were well arranged in this post. I don’t see what the problem is.
I will advice you read books, journals and articles more. There are ways to string words which pull people in more, especially book readers. The only way to learn these is from reading.
Open a diary here, this will help you arrange thoughts in your head before putting them to words. Your first entries may not look so good but I guarantee by half the second page you’ll get the hang of it. It will also help in long write up-creation.
Finally, read more articles and discussions here. Some posters are gifted writers. You’ll see yourself unconsciously emulate their writing pattern whenever you create posts. Don’t forget to dabble in debates here frequently. They teach mental discipline over emotion.
Those are the small points I could give. They helped me over the years and they will do the same for you.
Nowadays nobody needs to become an expert writer, all that matters are the ideas you possess and can pass on to readers.
thank u for this, I will try to put it into practice

Just recently I went for an essay competition I was disqualified not because I don't have good points but because I was not able to express myself clearly. I have interest in writing even though I'm an engineering student, I love to write, to share my ideas in writing, but poor writing skill is limiting me, so pls guys how can I improve?

Hey, wave those memories and set new goals.

Make sure you find those with better grades and GPA than yours and ask them exact things they wrote and how they did them.

Here is my similar advice to a similar case

∆° first, do away with your 1st semester result memory and start strongly afresh.
Hey, believe what I tell you.
Don't only read to have *A. but read to have d highest s_core in each course you do.*
Your goals are still achievable
I like this, thank u

*WHAT WOULD YOU DO ?*
*A woman tells her husband that she is going to visit her sick mum in the village. She goes on Friday and returns on Sunday, with plenty of fruits and food stuff, saying they are from her mum to the husband and the children. Then, the husband gently asks her about her mother's health and how she was doing, to which she replies that she took her to the hospital in the village and she is recovering and getting better. The wife adds that her mother insisted that she must re-visit the village in a few days, to spend at least a week with her.* *"I'm worried about Mama" the wife crooned, with tears swelling in her eyes.* *"She'll be fine, dear." Husband lovingly replied.* *The husband then politely asks her to take the items to the kitchen.* *As she enters, she meets her mother preparing food in the kitchen.* *Apparently, her mum came visiting since the Friday that she left home.* *You can imagine the plight of this woman. stuck, shocked, dazed and dumb founded at the kitchen door!* *whether to go in and drop the item's from mama', or return to her husband in the livingroom!* *How would you handle this case if u are the husband or what explanation will u give if u r d woman?* *Please your humble opinion is required.* *Send this to all ur male and female friends.* *Lets see who fix it well*

At all! When u do all this. Throughout that day u will feel angry and worked up, it's normal.
But after that day, u forget about him and move on with your life. It's all in the mind. Cut him off and meant it. Don't look back. Hang out with people who makes u laugh and happy. He's not the only friend u have nah?

Well if he is? Associate with people who are funny with positive mind and don't be too quick to trust another person. Study people well for months, before choosing one to trust as your confidante.

Move on jare. Stop tying yourself down with one negative disloyal person u call friend.
I will try

Mehn! Don't! Try and change that part of you. Cause some people smiling at you and coming close are doing such to know your secret and use it against you or mock u with it. They are not smiling with u because they like you, na lie o! Be careful with people. Learn to hold your feelings and tongue when meeting a smiling and friendly person. Behind that smike lies a wolf or a snake in human form.

Some are sincere but it's not stamped on the forehead. So hold yourself and watch that friend before trusting him or her with your life and secrets. Pls! You will live longer if u do.
I will try, I know it won't be easy
