Travel / My Experience With Policemen by MrPsalmist(m): 3:20pm On Jun 13, 2019
Please mod help me put this in the front page

I traveled to soba zaria today from kaduna for the kaduna state scholarship screening on my way coming back just before reaching zaria policemen stopped our car saw my hair and ask me to come down i came down and they took me to their vehicle and told me that they are going to barb me because i didn't barb low cut and i will pay 500 naira for the barbing and that if i don't want them to barb me then i have to pay 1000 naira i was really shocked cos no police officer has ever tried that in kaduna main town i told them that i don't have any money to give them they told me to kneel down which i humbly obeyed they brought out their scissor and wanted to cut my hair i stood up and asked them to stop i asked them if what they were doing was constitutional they just laughed and said i should better go on my kneels i got angry picked my phone and called my uncle he's the principal of police college Kaduna he asked me to give one of the policemen the phone they spoke but the policeman thought my uncle wasn't a police officer so he just gave me back my phone and after i finished talking to my uncle he (my uncle) told me to wait a little bit after dropping the call the policeman slapped me and said i think they were there for joke or what i was shocked we started arguing and dragging with them beating me after about 5 minutes the DPO of their station called them and told them to leave me which i know it was my uncle that called him.
I was very angry they apologized but i just went my way people were already gathered my body was really dirty
So my question here is are the policemen right in what they did or not cos i want to know if what they did is constitutional

Politics / President Buhari Declares Asset, Submits Declaration Form by MrPsalmist(m): 11:50pm On May 28, 2019
President Muhammadu Buhari has, in compliance with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, submitted his assets declaration forms to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
Legit.ng notes that submission of assets declaration form, according to Nigeria's constitution, must precede the president's oath-taking which is slated for Wednesday May 29.
A statement by Garba Shehu, the senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity said the duly completed forms were submitted to the chairman of the CCB, Professor Mohammed Isa, on behalf of the president by Sarki Abba, senior special assistant, Household and Domestic Affairs
The forms, as signed by the president and sworn to before a judge of Abuja high court showed no significant changes in assets as declared in 2015 by him.
There are no new houses, no new bank accounts at home and abroad and there are no new shares acquired.
The chairman of the CCB commended the president for leading by example by declaring his assets in accordance with the law.
The special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, said the president made the assertion while receiving the board of Ecobank Transnational Incorporated at the presidential villa, Abuja.
Adesina said Buhari remains committed to the goals of securing the country, inclusive economic growth and fighting corruption.

Politics / Re: Kaduna Guber: Court Rules On Vote Recount Next Week by MrPsalmist(m): 11:53am On May 26, 2019
Jowanson:

How did you know that elrufai won the election? Except the tribunal is compromised, PDP might take Kaduna too. If only you knew the height of desperation from most APC candidates in this last elections, you won't say this.

Ashiru did no reasonable campaign in kaduna thinking that with southern kaduna votes he will win kaduna state not knowing that El rufai is a king in the game
Senetor Shehu Sani was the best opponent El rufai could have worried himself about but without Shehu Sani El rufai knew he was going to win cos PDP lacked a candidate that is good at the game

mrakeli62:

The Kaduna State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has adjourned to Tuesday, May 27, for ruling on the motion for a recount of ballot papers brought before it by the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Isa Muhammad Ashiru.

The Chairman of the tribunal, Justice Ibrahim M. Bako, adjourned the sitting after a hot debate for or against the recount motion filed by the PDP’s governorship candidate.

Counsels to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Governor Nasir el-Rufai and the All Progressives Congress (APC), Messer Aliyu Umar, Abdulhakeem Mustapha and Lawal Bawa, argued against the recounting motion at the resumption of the pre-trial on Saturday.

It would be recalled that the petitioners, Ashiru and PDP, on Tuesday, May 14, filed a motion urging the tribunal to order for the recount of the entire ballot in the March 9 governorship poll in the state.

Justice Bako had adjourned to Saturday, May 25, 2019, to allow the three respondents in the PDP petition, governor-elect, El-Rufai, APC and INEC to file their responses.

Also, at the resumed hearing in the motion which is part of the pre-hearing sittings, the PDP applied to amend its earlier application for the recount of the entire ballot to 12 local government areas mostly in the central and northern parts of the state.

The petitioners applied for the recount in Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Igabi, Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Zaria, Sabon Gari, Makarfi, Kudan, Kubau, Soba and Ikara local government areas mostly won by the APC.

Mr. Emmanuel Ukala, told newsmen after the adjournment that: “What we have done this morning is to move the motion for the ballot recount, which is to recount the ballot papers in certain local government areas where we are saying that votes were simply allocated.

“We are saying that in order to meet the justice of the case, it is proper to have that recount. We are surprise that INEC who conducted the election and respondents who said they had won the election, would shy away from wanting that recount to be done.

“The application we have made in the court had been made in the past, they even cited the case of Oshiomhole and INEC where recounting was done and it has been done in other cases.

“So it is something that we know in our jurisprudence. We just want a recount and whatever the result turns out to be we will be happy and abide by it.

“We also filed motions to strike out certain paragraphs of their response, because once those paragraphs are struck out, they will definitely have nothing to respond too,“ Ukala said.

However, counsel to INEC, Mr Aliyu Umar, said there was a motion asking for a recount by the petitioner, but was opposed to by the respondents.

“And a ruling is going to be delivered on Tuesday next week on whether there is going to be a recount of those ballot papers.

“We opposed the recount because, in all legal contest especially election matters, you are supposed to state the fact upon which you are challenging the election.

“There are normally three grounds to challenge the outcome of an election, which are non-compliance, corrupt practices or the person declared was not elected by majority of lawful votes. They now lump up these three processes together,” Umar said.

Mr. Abdulhakeem Mustapha, counsel to El-Rufai also told newsmen that: “We are also opposed to that application because it is not in consonance with the extant provisions of the relevant electoral laws.

“What they are trying to do is that through the back door, move the court to grant an application that will decide the matter at the preliminary stage.

“We opposed to it and we marshalled our point that this is not the right time for that type of application,” Mustapha said.

That will be a true test for our boys, with the fast and aggressive pattern I saw the US play against Ukraine, e go hard for us o. But I see us beating them. against Qatar our defenders were caught napping more than once. A very clinical side can can run riot and punish our defense if we are not careful, aigbogun our coach should talk to them to keep it tight at the back. Our wing backs led by the dynamic captain ikouwem etin are good at offensive play, the midfield orchestrated by the highly rated man city boy dele bashiru and kingsley Michael have done well, the attack tough not biting enough are not doing too badly. I think we are good to go against the Yankees
