Gbenga Olawepo Hashim,the Presidential candidate of People’s Party( PT), has on Thursday, said he would end ‘too much hunger in the land’ by creating 4 trillion naira economy in the next ten years if elected in 2019 general elections.

Hashim, who made the declaration when he visited Arewa Consultative Forum(ACF) in Kaduna,told northerners that he joined the race to fix the economy, as well as reconcile Nigerians and tackle insecurity.

Hashim, said what the country needs now is someone like him to build a bigger economy for the Nigeria’s rising population.

Hashim, said as an entrepreneur for over twenty seven years he is the only candidate that would create jobs in the 21st century economy.

“I am happy to be here in Kaduna, the headquarters of 19 Northern states. I placed a lot of value on the socio-cultural organisations that is why i decided to visit ACF to intimate you of my presidential ambition. If North is united,peaceful,Nigeria will be united and peaceful. There was no discrimination in the Northern Nigeria during Sarduana of Sokoto and that is the north we want”

Hashim added: “There is no unity,peace in Nigeria and is one of the reasons I am contesting to bring the country back.I will reconcile Nigeria and bring the  country back. There is too much hunger in the land,I will create a big economy for Nigeria’s population. The new Nigeria we want is a new country free of violence, insecurity with a prosperous economy” he said.

The Presidential candidate of People's Trust ( PT),Mr. Gbenga Olawepo Hashim
has appealed to chieftains of the Arewa Consultative Forum ( ACF) to continue to promote peace and sustainable development in the country.

He commended the contribution of Arewa Consulative Forum (ACF) to politics and nation-building, saying ACF's contributions to national development could not be wished away.

Speaking at the ACF' s headquarters in Kaduna while on a courtesy call, Olawepo Hashim urged the Arewa Leaders to support his candidature in the 2019 Presidential election in order to overcome the alleged, misrule of the present Government.


Nigeria,he said ,had gone through era of economic uncertainty and insecurity.

"I am ready to provide the needed leadership for unity and development," he said.

Reacting,the ACF chairman,Alhaji Musa Liman Kwande said ACF as a non partisan body would support the emergence of a credible Presidential candidate that will promote peace, unity and development of Nigeria in 2019 elections.
The Arewa leaders, pointed out that the ACF would not openly canvass support for any individual candidate in the forthcoming polls but will sensitise Nigerians to elect the credible Presidential candidate who will chart a path for development, peace, justice and the rule of law in the country.
The northern leaders who received the Presidential Candidate of the Trust Party, Hashim and other members of the party to the ACF secretariat in Kaduna yesterday, explained that already the Arewa elders have concluded plans to sensitize Nigerians in an enlightenment campaign to educate them on the choice of a credible President for the 2019 general elections.

The Acting Chairman of ACF, Alhaji Musa Liman Kwande in his address said that "the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), as you are aware, is a non-partisan, non-political, non-religious body devoid of any ethnic or tribal, sentiments.Thus, its status as the foremost Northern socio-cultural organization which tries to promote peace, unity, justice and the rule of law, with the main thrust to promoting and protecting the interest and
development of North and its people, within the context of one indivisible Nation, is not in question."

According to him, "In our non-partisan disposition, we do not align ourselves to any individual or political party. Rather, We strive to weigh the scale on what is good for the North in particular, and the overall good of the Nation."

Alhaji Kwande said "I understand that you have availed yourself to contest for the Office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2019, under the platform of
the People's Trust (PT). I feel quite enthused to acknowledge the emergence of new breed politicians like your humble self vying for the various elective offices in our nascent democratic dispensation which, by and large, has the potential to engender healthy political process as we strive to
consolidate on the achievements recorded so far."

"As you are quite aware, Nigeria's political and
democratic terrain, at this moment in time, is fraught with negative underpinning that we must all, as citizens and political actors, cultivate the will and courage, to free our country from all that we see could militate against its progress and development in all ramifications."

impunity, anarchy and a host of other disingenuous activities which, if not effectively contained, would certainly be the bane of our progress and
development as a people and one cohesive nation. "

"ACF therefore appeals to you leaders of your various political parties to ensure that you live by the letters and spirit of the Abuja Peace Accord put up by the National Peace Committee under the Former Head of State General Abdulsalam Abubakar, GCFR, which you all signed and pledged to uphold. We expect you to run issue-based campaign and refrain
from all forms of incitements, be it religious, tribal or ethnic both by yourselves and all agents acting for or on your behalf."

" We urge you to seriously commit yourselves and your political parties to peaceful campaign and strict adherence to the Peace Accord", he added.

He warned against political thuggery and rigging of the 2019 general elections, the ACF Chieftain said, "As you are fully aware previous elections were marred by violence caused by the behavior of some members of political parties and their supporters, we cannot afford to have a repeat of such in 2019."

" In this respect, we appeal to the Police and other security agencies involved in ensuring peaceful election to live above board and maintain neutrality
in the performance of their assignments. We equally
call on INEC to be an impartial umpire in the conduct
of the 2019 general elections and ensure that a fair
level playing ground is provided to all political parties and their candidates."

"On our part, the Forum has put in place a sensitization program that will enlighten the
electorates on peaceful conduct of election, which
comprise Radio and TV jingles, Suggestions to all Nigerians pamphlet on electing credible and trusted politicians and adverts in the print media as our token contributions to peaceful conduct of election.
We also call on other NGOs and CSOs to join efforts in the sensitization campaign."

The Presidential candidate of thePeoples Trust (PT), Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has said that his party will resist the attempts by some dominant political forces to turn Nigeria into a two party state.

 The Peoples Trust candidate, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Hassan Ibrahim, said that the party is aware of some subterranean moves by certain forces to strangulate the emerging political parties and turn Nigeria into a two party state.

The candidate of the Third Force Movement said that any attempt to turn the hand of Nigeria’s democratic progress backwards and curtail the fundamental rights of the people to associate will be resisted squarely.

He said: “There is no democracy in the world where choices are restricted to one or two parties. Even in the United States of America, where you have two dominant parties, there is multiplicity of parties that are  allowed to participate in the process.

“The PT is the biggest of all the new political parties according to data from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and we insist on being allowed to blossom and fulfill the yearnings of the Nigerian people who are certainly fed up with a lack of vision, passion and direction for the development of the country.

“Many of the actors in the political scene today who are outside the two dominant parties fought vigorously to ensure respect for fundamental rights of association of Nigerians.”

He further stated that the forces seeking to return Nigerian to a two party state had perfected their acts through the exclusion of several emerging parties at the just concluded Vice Presidential debates held by the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON).

 He further stated: “2019 will not be a choice between corruption and ineptitude. The PT is determined that despite attempts to make it look like that, the 2019 election will not be a choice between the PDP, which has been variously accused of corruption and the APC, which symbolizes administrative ineptitude and economic failure.

“The vast majority of Nigerians still continue to search for credible alternatives to the two political parties in spite of limited resources at the disposal of the multiple alternative platforms.

“Through massive media propaganda, a gang of Nigeria’s parasitic elite who have fed fat on the Nigerian state have tried to ensure that political clime is narrowed to the two incompetent behemoth- the APC and PDP.

“The PT is at the vanguard of ensuring that the Nigerian electorate gets credible alternative in 2019, as it has instituted the consolidation of various alternative platforms, even as it is daily receiving support from Presidential candidates, aspirants and parties.

“We know as a matter of fact that the corrupt PDP elite and the pseudo democrats of APC are desperate to consign Nigeria into a two party state. Apart from misusing state funds at their disposal to their advantage, they are arrogantly telling the suffering Nigerian people that they are stuck between the two devils.

“By the report of the Carnegie Institute, it has been confirmed that using the resources at the disposal unjustly and to their advantage.
They are also using Media platforms such as the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria to muscle the emerging political structures.

“We are already seeing some propaganda items in some newspapers questioning whether we should even have more than these two parties in the country at all and advocating for a constitutional amendment to legislate the alternative platforms out of existence.
“We want to remind the authors of such anti-democratic thoughts that the right to a pluralistic democracy was won through hard struggle and cannot be taken away by the wishful thinking of some politicians and their ilk in some corrupt media establishments.

Foundation for Peace Professionals (FPP) has intercepted a trending and disturbing video online, in which soldiers of the Nigerian army are seen in the video, marching two (2) harmless civilians into a location for execution, over the simple offense of coming out during curfew as heard from one of the soldiers.

As the heart breaking video proceeded, the two harmless citizens were seen being gunned down by 3 soldiers who were also celebrating the heinous crime against humanity.

In the trending video, the soldiers didn’t just gun down the harmless citizens after leveling all sorts of unsubstantiated allegations against them; they also gunned down their donkeys, firing more than 30 shots in the process.

We regret to say that this gruesome extra-judicial killings of innocent citizens is unfortunate and unacceptable, as it is counterproductive to our quest for peace and justice

This unfortunate exposure came out barely a week after the International Criminal Court (ICC) accused the Nigerian Army of crimes against humanity. The ICC had stated in its latest report that it received a total of 169 petitions from Nigeria which it assessed and concluded based on the assessment that security forces in Nigeria committed war crimes varying from murder, torture, and intentionally attacking the civilian population.

While the Nigerian army had denied any wrong doing, this new video doesn’t support that position.

Foundation for Peace Professionals (FPP) is therefore calling for the immediate arrest of all the soldiers identified in the video. We also call for proper investigation into this matter and urge the authorities to put in place measures to prevent re-occurrence of similar act.

It is a good concept, but OBJ being at the centre of it has rubbished it already. All the current candidate you mentioned are auditioning for 2023.

OBJ didn't create the concept of 3rd Force. He only reechoed the feelings of the people and try to hijack it.

The 3rd Force candidates are now clear.

Who is the 3rd Force candidate that can really challenge APC and PDP?

There are 450 positions to be contested for in the 2019 election, ranging from presidency, Senate and House of Representativesp.

Omoyele Sowore's party, AAC has only 30 candidates.

Oby Ezekwesili's party, ACPN has only 50

Fela Durotoye's party, ANN has just 21

Kingsley Moghalu's YPP has 70

Tope Fasua's ANRP has only 17

Olawepo Hashim's party, People's Trust has about 200.

In other words, if you combine Sowore, Fela, Fasua, Kingsley and Madam Oby's spread at the grassroots, they are still not up to Olawepo Hashim's People's Trust (PT).

Don't you think it is better for all these other candidates to support Hashim to form a stronger force?

It’s like there is an agreement between the management of Nairaland and the campaign team of Mr. Olawepo Hashim. He’s probably the most promoted candidate on Nairaland even though he’s so unpopular among the voting public.

You have continued to mislead yourself that he his unpopular among the voting public, but that is not the case at all.

Hashim is a grassroots politician who understands the game. His campaign is powered by the grassroots, not media. If you combine the candidates of Sowore's party, Oby's party, Fela's party and Moghalu's party, they are still not up to the candidates running under Hashim's People's Trust.

Olawepo Hashim trended amidst the trend of 2019 presidential Debate.

Mr Hashim who is also the presidential candidate of the 3rd Force movement recently over took President Muhammadu Buhari of APC and Alh. Atiku Abubakar of PDP as the most talked about candidate on the social media, particularly on Facebook while reacting to his exclusion from the debate declared that the debate is an APC debate.

According to him, the APC is doing everything possible to shut out the third force so that they can an easy ride with the discredited PDP. But he assured that this would never happen and that both PDP and APC will be sent parking in 2019.

According to data released by analyst last week, more than 28,000 people are talking about Olawepo Hashim on Facebook, compared to only 24000 people talking about Atiku and 16000 talking about Buhari.

Olawepo Hashim's political party, people's trust (pt) also emerged as the party with the highest nomination among the 28 newly registered political parties, having more nomination than the combined nomination of Madam Oby's ACPN, Fela's ANN and Kingsley's YPP.

ACPN, ANN and YPP have a combined nomination of 141 while People's Trust (PT) has 194 nominations.
