In nigeria today you can book for a cab online. You can book a hotel online. You can book airline tickets online.

How about wedding/party service providers online?
This is my idea. Trust me i can not reveal all details here.
There are about 3 income streams. Marketing will be done online mostly via social media. I have this all planned.

Start up Needs

1. A good website and app
2. Innovative and cost effective marketing strategies
3. Cash to fund the website and marketing(this is very important)
4. Young and creative minds to drive the business. I have other interests so i may not be in charge of day to day management

The Nigeria economy like other aspects of our national life in my opinion is a " time bomb " waiting to explode.
We need to go back to the basics.

1. Stop our over dependence on crude oil as a major source of income. This will only make us rely on the volatile opec cartel.
Solution: diversify. Embrace other viable sources of income. I suggest tourism, mining/solid minerals, I.T, entertainment, manufacturing and the service sector.
We should produce more and import less.

We should give the man in America a reason to buy the Naira in exchange for goods and services made in Nigeria. With tourism alone we can achieve this.

2. A country where the government (public sector) is the richest and largest spender is a source of concern. "The public sector is too profitable in Nigeria". Just observe the body language of our elected officials and the struggle for political office.

3. A man who earns N10 and spends N8 on personal day to day expenses will soon go broke. This man also has to take care of his extended family and children.

This is the case with Nigeria we spend about 80% of our income on recurrent expenditure. Then we have very little for projects, infrastructure, savings and investment..
Solution: WE SELECT AND VOTE FOR HONEST LEADERS WHO ARE READY TO MAKE SACRIFICES. Don't worry about the followers they will fall in line.

Nice concept. I am into car hire business in Lagos. Words of advice.

Watchout for the problems associated with honda baby boy.
1. Gear box. Solution always use recommended gear oil and change regularly.
2. Tyre pull out. I'm sure you must have niticed this. Any of the front tyres may suddenly pull out in motion it is common with honda cars. Solution check your suspension parts regularly and replace ball joints every 4 months.
3. Honda cars are good but you may consider a toyota corolla or camry for car hire.

Be careful with second hand naija used cars. They give a lot of problems. I have experienced this before.
Repayment period: car hire is profitable and can guarantee steady cash flow but if you are new and you drive an unbranded car it may take some time to build a strong customer base. When the customers know you then you can smile.

Then please have a marketing strategy dint sit in a taxi park and expect customers to jump at you. Be smart.

Then before i forget. Make sure your car has a good air conditioning system.

Now let us get down to the Nigeria experience. Anytime I remember this concept. The bank with the orange logo always comes to my mind. Do you remember that at a point it suddenly became trendy to have an account in that bank?
I remember the year 2006 I walked into a branch in Surulere to open an account.
Why?
I felt the bank was good enough, financially stable but to be honest ; the bank was just ideal for me at that time. They made it possible to open an account with about 5k and I could withdraw all anytime. No minimum balance. They had good customer service. Excellent customer experience and good looking buildings. I had to join the trend especially then I was in the university( it is interesting to note that I still maintain that account till date).

blym4real If you are a newbie, start out with something while you observe which skillsets pay the most and if you can fit in.I can give you one niche that will readily pay you as much as 100 usd daily if you can churn out 5000-10000 words of that kind of story....but its not not conventional and may be against your personal beliefs

Also develop a compelling message template you can use to sell yourself to your client!
