@ kistehsia

I am in an interracial relationship with an Nigerian Guy, but we both live in Germany. I am 48 and he is 2 years younger.

After I agreed to get that far, I started to get every kind of information about his country. I watched a lot of documentation and I was so surprised about the Nigerian people. It is great. I wish the the Germans would take over some of their great attitudes.
Really appreciating.

You said the same thing most people on here have said.   Thanks for being honest and not telling her what she wants to hear but rather needs to hear unlike some chatters on here.

But I am also careful and I still make my cross checks (he knows that). On the other hand I have never met a guy who is that sensitive, caring, hard-working and very intelligent. I have never had a dull moment so far.

Good luck for you, but be careful smiley
It is different when you guys are in the same town and you took your time to get to know him before getting into a serious relationship.  There is nothing wrong with that and you did right by taking your time and dotting all the I's.  That's something all women should do regardless of color or region.

Thanks for being honest and telling her what she needs to hear and not what she wants to hear unlike some chatters on here.

Life goes around and advances but your brain keeps digging the floor like a pig, looking for what to eat.
Be sane and sound and sit yourself down for a consultation before even listen to some of your collegues comments  on this forum.

Why should you be the one to visit the guy?
Why can't he be the one to visit?
Your still not sure of his real identity but what he tells you, right?
You dating a Nigerian guy for God sake who you have not met in person and u still keen on being the first to visit him?
Don't u presume the guy might be into a bad biz and could easily implicate u pending your present?

Thanks to Mrs Chima she had the truth breathed out!!!!!![/quote]Oh Lawd! They will attack you Dsense! shocked shocked shocked

You will be taking care of him anyway if he doesn't get a permit to work in Canada.  For the safety of those kids, I hope he is legit. I hate to see innocent children get caught up in some foolishness.

Nigerian girls need to learn something about men? undecided I see Nigerian men working hard to earn enough dowry and bride fees just to marry Nigerian girls. Even the ones from aboard coming home to these Nigerian girls after years of investing.

Nigerian girls seem to be doing just fine the way they have been carrying on. cheesy

It even shows in your comment. Good things come to those who wait sensibly. Doesn't necessarily mean you have to play hard to get!
When is the wedding?  You do know what you want right and you also said you are teaching her your father's traditions so I am sure marriage is one of them. wink

That is your own side of the story. If I could hear hers, then maybe I could advice better.

I mean what make her to start dis-respecting you in the first place?
Sometimes people who accuse others of personal relationship problems usually are in denial of what is going on. It sound like there are some denial going on but all the advice in the world won't change what he feels about his marriage and the same for the wife.

In that case, I can say the same about black men not knowing that they want in a relationship either.

The truth is bitter!

It appears I will mot be needing to go to Mexico as his visa will be ready by the end of October, so I am staying put!  Will patiently wait for his arrival.

We talk a lot, about different things and we have talked at length about my my age and reassures me it is not an issue so we have agreed the subject is to not be brought up again.   It was an insecurity of mine and I am dealing with it, the inter-racial part never crossed my mind it was the age gap that hindered me.  I look forward to learning about my Man and he about me, it is a journey we have the rest of our lives to travel.

kistehsia
That's good you are staying home. Learn all you can about him in a physical sense and good luck. wink

And keeping their business personal and off a public forum may help too.  I was also wondering why would she ask strangers for advice instead of talking to the guy in Mexico about what HE THINKS of the relationship.

Do you think women should take the initiative to go see the man's stomping ground for the first meet? If so shouldn't men desist on Modern women bashing?

You are right.let him be man enough and come down.

If he loves me that much as he claims he would do it. But if I did it I would look desperate.

Let the man take the lead.
Exactly.  One minute these boys pound their chest about women being too Modern and the next minute they are pushing Women Liberation.  WTF.

Well. he can't take lead because he doesn't have the resources nor the visa.   That's why she is helping the grown man.

It also sound like a mother and son relationship.

I love that part.

I think if I were in the op shoes I would let the dude fly down to canada first. work out the visa and let him come. That will prove a few things.
If money is the issue, then all4naija said it well,It takes patience and understanding.
And if you are not patient enough then feel free.
That's all Lax75 and I was saying.  Let him come SEE HER FIRST and if it work out then go visit him at his stomping ground wherever that is.

Why is she helping a grown man get a visa to come see her?  Nevertheless, you said the key phrase. If you are not patient enough then feel free.
