You ought to know that most of the feminist in family section are loyal to the core and don't mix culture or religion when driving home their points. Actually, a lot of them are atheist and I do take them more serious than theistic feminists.

Religion especially Christianity was organized and structured in a manner that places men above women and encourages men supremacy. Therefore I'm gobsmacked whenever I see Christian feminists. How feasible is it to be a Christian and feminist?. Isn't it contradictory to the preachings of the bible?.

Some of the verses contradicts itself but I do take in account that man wrote the bible so I am not surprised by the lengthy contradictions. However I would say this to the Christians especially male christians, how did one go from leaving their parent home and cleave unto a woman then becomes one (Genesis) to men being the head of the family (Esphesian)?

How can one head itself? . My point is the bible shouldn't be used in a debate with contradictions.

Nobody is restricting women from contributing equally in a relationship/marriage. Actually that's what gender equality is all about. A woman who truly believe in gender equality doesn't have to accept men's handouts or at worse must partake evenly in the financial running of the affair and shouldn't let a man rejects such move. They must stand on their ground even if the man repudiate it.

Generally, money is one of the top component that lead to conflict and divorce between couples. When someone feels one is dependent on them they'd most likely want to influence their decision and have a grip on their life, by default. There are men who wouldn't mind but most would. Humans innately love supremacy and once they're your source of livelihood they'd lord their control on whoever rely on them. Dependency and equality are parallel and very unrealistic.

You can't compare apples and oranges. A person who lacks the means to support one's self isn't the same as one's ability to contribute equally. If you knowingly goes into a relationship especially marriage with a person who has no ability to support themselves and others...why would you assume the marriage will not be tumultuous?

Many men seek women who are dependent on them and their money but cry when the demands of support is overwhelming. I don't support leeching women but I don't support vapid men who gets with leeching women then hollered gender eauality.

You are right feminists will hustle and obtain their own without depending on male coubterparts. An average male will not marry a known feminist and if the woman is not a feminist how can you expect her to contribute equally

If she doesn't acknowledge feminism and thinks that it is irrelevant how can you expect her to what feminists do?

There are many Nigerian men who don't have a problem with having equal footing with women. There are always exceptional cases in every situation but on what scale are the Nigerian women who supported their men financially are if we're to put markers. How many of them are willing to pick up their personal bills without their usual incessant monetary demands?.

Feminism or state socialism can't be obtainable in Nigeria and can't see the light of the day until a large percentage of Nigerian women desist from depending on men. It's impracticable leeching on a man and at same time vie for equality. Quite hypocritical and a self-serving ambition.

Yes I agree, it's near equal as I also do think an exact equal is impractical hence I asserted near equivalent. There's still a lot more to do. In some cases, women have an edge over men whilst in some men are above shoulders with women. However, their men don't kick against any sound and practical move to have an equal footing with women which is responsible for bridging the gap between both sexes.

Nigerian feminists aren't sincere with their agitations. Responsibility (with much emphasis on finance) is an important clause in the crusade of gender equality but this is something they conveniently shy away from.

Actually, he's got some valid points just like I know members of your ilks has credible points to support their movement. Both pro-feminist and anti-feminists also have some clandestine and cryptic motives that seems to warrant their spurning on their assenter's course.
