i advice you to meet the doctor and insist you want to be molnitored / follicular tracking...it costs btw 3 to 10k per scan
some docs give clomid cd 2or 3 to cd 6 or 7, while others prefer cd 5 to 9...there is a reason for each option...cant remeber it right now...but any of the options is good.

u might consider changing gynae if he doesnt give a good reason for his decision, as it appears he might not be well informed....or if money isnt a problem, go n do the tvs on ur own on cd 9 ..n tell us the result b4 going for the hcg shot. i dont believe ur follicles wud b more than 12mm on cd 9..n triggering at that size ia pure waste

I've heard/read of hcg shot after ovulation but never heard of hcg shot before egg maturation.
Is it possible he said injectables and you confused it for hcg shot?
Abeg nor vex for the plenty questions o. Trying to understand.
Follicle tracking should start on CD 12 since you have a regular cycle but normally its about 3-5 days after tthe last clomid pill. Hcg shot is then taken when your follicle has attained maturity. My gynae likes to see it at 18mm before giving the shot.

Me too I'm confuse ooo... I'm starting the Clomid on CD5 - CD9 and come for the HCG shot on the last day day of the Clomid being CD9.

He even gave me a memo note to stick it somewhere so I won't forget to take the drugs and come for the injection. So I'm very sure of what I'm saying.

I'm confuse because i've already paid 12k for the HCG.

@ mummyejire @RipVanWink @jean01..... My goodness my cycle is 28days and to start Clomid tomorrow being CD5, )my doctor didn't mention that I'm to track follicles. All he said was come on CD9 and take the HCG shot.
Please sabi mama's, kindly assist me on what to do before I take the shot. When should I go for follicle tracking? When am I to take the shot?

Question time: is HCG injection given on CD9?? I am on Clomid 100mg and my doctor said I'm to take the trigger shot on CD9. I didnt want to argue with him.

Hi Ladies, I just stumbled on this thread while searching for a forum for women who are ttcing in Nigeria. I joined the twoweekwait ttc forums but I realised there are mostly foreigners there and sometimes their procedures, terms etc, seem so distant and strange. I just had to look for a forum where I'll not feel so lost.

I have a 3 year old child that I was blessed with after actively trying for baby number 1 for two years plus with male factor(low motility). I never used any sort of birth control but now my son is three and am still struggling to conceive again. I have scheduled a doctors appointment for Saturday noon so myself and hubby can go for a proper checkup. This whole ttc journey is so frustrating and has dampened our relationship so much. Anyway let's see how it goes on Saturday.

BTW: today is my wedding anniversary and I seriously do not have the zeal to do anything fun.

Please be thankful and grateful.

@iceboo, dt pain u feel in ur boob may be due to high prolactin. I used to ve it after ovulation bt no longer ve it after treating high prolactin.

@ talltosyne please sis how long did u treat your high prolactin? What drugs did u take? I've been on dostinex for 2months now and there's no change.

Here is the result of my DH semen analysis :
Morphology :Normal cells 90%
Abnormal cells - 10%
Motility : Active cells 75% ---sluggish cells : 5%..... dead cells 20%.
Total count: 209. 2 ×10 sperm cells/ml
culture: yielded no significant growth after 48hrs.

Sorry for the long post... DH & I are novice we no sabi anything. We are yet to take the result to our gynae.

Pls help us interpret this result. God bless.

Morning blessed mums, How long do I take this Dostinex, I just started another bottle and I don't think my prolactin is reducing, I still have fluid coming out from my bossom even with the ewedu and B6

@Mrsfrank,U dnt need to be worry,its jst dt u O earlier, probably At CD10. My cycle is also like dt.

I dnt think u need dt extra folic acid and vit e since u r taking pregnacare.

AF has completely gone crazy, It was constantly a"28day cycle, for 2 cycles now it's been 24days. I'm really worried, I'm on Dostinex 0.5mg twice weekly, I added pregnacare conception, Vit e, b6 and Folic acid.
What could likely be the cause of dis change?

Anyway i dont know if i am forbidden from mentioning clo.mid on this forum cos most times when i mention it i get barred and thats really sad the last thing i said about clo.mid was that "it is a prescription drug, the person who asked the question should see a doctor and take it under doctor's supervision and it can not be combined with vitex....big pharmacies dont sell clomid to you except you come with your doctor's prescription.....i've come to realized that if some people fell into a ditch on a particular road they will keep quiet and let everyone else fall but i am not like that, everyone shouldnt be allowed to learn a lesson the hard way when you know you can help....

Firstly you must know that you have a limited number of time you can use clomid to avoid developing ovarian cancer and that is the more reason you need to see a doctor and let him know if you really need it before administering it, hsg must be done to ascertain the state of your tubes to avoid ectopic pregnancy and after a repeated course of clo.mid your endometrial lining might become too thin that even if the egg fertilises it will not be able to implant and clo.mid causes dryness of the vj and without the cervical fluid the semen might not be able to swim.....so thread carefully with clomid..

True talk mumihaja, my doctor placed me on Clomid 100mg without monitoring me, I ended up having an ectopic pregnancy. Thank God I'm alive today.

I see many BFPs in 2weeks time, all this BDing and Trigger shots, it will surely end in praise in Jesus name. Amen.

HOW DO I GET PREGNANT?
Good Question.
it's obvious by now that you can only get pregnant if you are ovulating.
LH surge, EWCM, Pain around ovary etc are all indicators but the ultimate confirmation is TEMPING. I would advise the use of LH strips WHY?? because in all scenarios it worked to my own knowledge that is what was used. To get pregnant the most important thing is to time ovulation but in that process, relax, enjoy yourself, go and see a movie at a cinema, dance to naija jams maybe don jazzy's productions lol or do what gets you excited. it's called stress relief. that way your hormones try to balance up so due process continues! Observe your body that is important.

HOW DO I TIME OVULATION?
will start with women that have irregular periods because that is one of the major palava in conception making it difficult to time conception. From my personal observation iregular periods are caused by hormone imbalance. what could trigger that could be drug side effects, hereditary, poor exercising or stress etc. i also observed that irregular period is you period occurring when it likes. but the special effect i observed is that the egg production cycle is not disrupted by irregular periods. you wont see this online GBAM!
PLS EXPLAIN... YES!
if you are having iregular periods now pls remember that there was a time your period was regular! Maybe every 28, 30 or 32 days. that is what you work with. ignore the confusing flow. Meaning your egg production cycle is every 28, 30 or 32 days regardless of when your period shows up. sometimes people with irregular period have their period coincide with their ovulation. strange abi? BUT VERY CORRECT. This way you can set what i call "Ovulation Trap" for it. once you observe you ovulated, count another 28 days(if your cycle was formerly 28 days when it was regular) and realise you will ovulate again regardless of when your period comes. that way you know when to count your CD1 - CD 28. Please i'm refering to those with irregular periods.

REGULAR PERIODS
If you have regular periods it's easier. it's easier to time ovulation this way.if you know the number of days in your cycle is 28 for example.. Subtract 16 from that number. Eg 28-16 =12. Why am i subtrating 16 days? because that is the maximum number of days for a woman's luteal phase known. meaning you start to time your ovulation trap from day 13 to day 18. why day 13 - 18?? because your timing should not be close to the minimum luteal phase limit. Lets assume you ovulate on day 19 of a 28 day regular cycle. the number of days for your luteal phase is 28 -19 =9. A 9 day luteal phase could be easily considered a luteal phase defect. Pls remember a luteal phase defect is caused by a fewer number of days needed for a fertilized egg to implant in the uterus. so if you know when your period occurs, first of all count out your luteal phase days minimum which should be about 9. meaning you can bed until day 18 or 19. i also learnt that the luteal phase of any woman remains the same throughout all her entire cycles. it could range between 10 - 16.
There are situations where people with regular periods ovulate on CD 7,8,9 10,11 or any other day. so its better to know your OVulation day and set that trap. You dont need a gynecologist to tell you this. all the information is online. Afterall i be engr. na situation carry me come know all this since my wife go prefer to read linda ikeji, dance "collabo" read oda blogs or watch TV than to sidon read all this.
