Mourning doves build a nest close to my bathroom window where they lay and hatch their eggs( usually 2 eggs) )and take care the babies till their old enough to fly. I witness both parent took turn to feed both hungry babies

Last year alone I have seen 3 sets of babies.
This year the doves came back to the nest around January and lay eggs and barely two weeks the egg hatch and the babies was ready to fly in another two weeks... I woke to their beauties every morning. They coo coo coo a lot but if you love dove u won't have a problem with that.

I havent seen the parent dove back in the their to lay eggs since January 2020 although they play around the nest vicinity which makes me miss them

Woke up this morning to the sight of this beautiful Laughing Dove in my room. I suspected it came through the window as I left it open all through the night. So I decided to take some pics before letting it go.

Ordinary google map could HV shown them such a place.

Once u open it and click on elevation it shows u high and low lands. The university being sited Ina highland in the region could have helped stop this.

Just curious, have you been to Bayelsa? Most part of Bayelsa is lowland.
Even the so-called Highlands might not have enough lands to accommodate the university.
Besides, the flood doesn't come every year.
The first time I witnessed it was in 2012, that's the biggest.
Others were in 2014, 2017, 2017 and 2020.

The flood is not just in Otueke, it affects the whole of Bayelsa state and other riverine states connected to River Niger

All I read here is comments from people who haven't travelled to the South South.
This flood is not peculiar to only Bayelsa, this is as a result of River Niger overflowing it's bank.
This flood affects both Rivers, Bayelsa, Abia, Delta states.
There is no amount of drainage you can build to avoid this flood. Stop blaming GEJ or any governor for a natural disaster
