Can they be deployed for AWACS role?
Only NN ATR-42 can perform both AWACS and SIGINT roles in Africa!
They all do even before yours.

I can't remember South Africa owning Toyota. We used Toyota Haice here in Nigeria not quantum. You copied too. Mumu
You can't remember SA owning Toyota. Yes, SA does not own Toyota, it is a Japanese company. However, SA had Toyota plants which made many cars designed locally including mini buses from Hi ace to quantum specially as SA commuters transport. Quantum was designed here.

their are many countries using the their design.
All copied from SA based Toyota quantum that has been in the field for many years transporting commuters of Mzansi which has now fondly called "Sesfikile" by the locals. Probably copied by the Chinese for their puppy called In no son in Nigeria.

In America yes. America has most expensive cars which Africa can never afford even when they can be exported to Africa.

South African are so dull.
They want to claim what they are not the only thing new in there navy is 4 Frigates and 3 subs every other thing is as old as ARADU. They Frigate even have lesser capabilities. And they have less than 30 vessels operation. With no air arm. Very incomplete navy.
ARANDU is no more.

As for the rest of your post; its a heap of cudswallop!.
50% of our fleet is enough to secure the whole gulf of guinea + south africa's coastline. For God's sake!,we are at peacetime, why do we need to operate 100% of our impressive naval armada?.There is no professional navy that operates that recklessly.
Anyway,70% of our navy is confirmed active.
What about Gabon and Libya? Bwahahaha… you must do research before putting your filthy fingers on your keyboard, mumu.

Perhaps even those 30 canoes are as well inoperable. Their Chief Admiral blamed it on poor maintainence.

Nigeria has only 75 vessels and majority of which are inoperable. Currently, they have only close to 30 vessels in operation. Their Navy chief can never tell lie.

Zero frigate
Zero Submarine
Zero warships.

It is not a shame that Nigeria has less than three pilots. Throughout their air offensive against Boko Haram they have been using only two jets spraying free falling bombs indiscriminately even killing civilians. Since came into existence there is no a single Nigerian pilot who had ever fired an AAM or PGM.

Anyway, 2008 to 2012 Nigerian navy purchased 300 brand new small vessels, add that to your 75 = 375 vessels
Thank you for proving me right, I said NN has about 35 vessels.
#Death By Own Comment grin grin
That's a lie ooo. Which company manufactured those 300 ships and how long did they take? Do you think that building vessels is as easy and quick as building cars and jets. Unless you tell me about canoes. Your 300 ships are only on paper chief.

Our ATR is an ISTAR,AWACS,MPA and SIGINT aircraft: only two of its kind in Africa.
Our Eurocopters are very capable of carrying out anti-submarine warfare.
Post citation to prove your claim that we cant protect our 853km coastline and that our waterways are the "hotspot" of piracy.
Only two in Africa sound so misleading indeed.

You can't protect your coastline and your naval chief confessed it by blaming it on his over 50% useless fleets.

Nope, until you show me SANDF Casspir with 10 firing ports by the side in service, not rear or top, side ports like the Nigerian Spartan.[/size]

Casspir is an MRAP you dunce !

I said LAV you dumbo durango, Spartan is LAV and SANDF has nothing like that for LAV ! Fool, learn to read English !

SANDF is recorded to have 700 MRAPs all old school old models that need modern replacements, your MRAPs are obsolete dated since 1980s.

Nigerian army MRAPs are new 2012 modern products, we are superior to you
.
How can you claim to be superior to a world leading country in MRAP manufacturing? SA has over 800 MRAPs and which are still way more superior than those Nigeria has. You are now becoming a joke of the century.

Henry240:
Can you provide evidence that says NN has 0 qualified pilots?

- 1 qualified sea-borne pilot

- 0 qualified combat pilots

- 9 total Gripen pilots.

Gents....... This is what pathetic looks like.
Evidence is simple. Since when last did Nigerian pilots fight in an air to air star wars? Name one Nigerian fighter pilot who has done dog fighting in his life.

Nigeria has only handful of sorties which are operable estimated at only three F7s coupled with few alpha jets. We have seen throughout your air attacks against Boko haram that you have been using only two fighter jets. You have only few pilots and that has been proven by circumstancial evidence. None of your few fighter pilots has ever fired missiles on their lives.

Finito…

No military force in the world is normally 100% at any time. There will always be downtime equipment.

Nigerian navy is the biggest in Africa by number of vessels, so 350 to 400 vessels, with 50% broken down, we still have about 200 vessels ruling the sea !
.
Nigeria has zero navy. You have fokol, nothing.

You are only left with a paper navy.

Nigeria has a naval strength of only 75 ships or are you counting canoes as well. Bwahahaha…

You want to compete with western powers by estimating your fleet to be around 350. You set craze.

Total Naval Strength: 75
Aircraft Carriers: 0
Frigates: 2
Destroyers: 0
Corvettes: 0
Submarines: 0
Coastal Defense Craft: 12
Mine Warfare: 3

Why cant you be as truthful on NL as you are on Beegeagle, Agaugust?

Augustine says:

September 1, 2015 at 3:34 pm

Oga Sir Kay, Nigeria needs a modern and powerful military to be on that seat, that UN position is not for a country flying F-7 jets and driving T-72 tanks, with zero Submarines, it is for a world medium power to join the super/major powers already there.

South Africa is competing for that same seat and they have a far better equipped military and world class local defence industry. The only edge Nigeria has over them is ‘experience’ mixed with bad records of embarrassing defeat at home in the hands of Bokos before we reversed the situation.

The responsibility for a United Nations permanent security council seat occupant is above the level of someone begging around the globe for tear gas to fight a war and importing simple dumb bombs that have existed since 1920. Best of luck to my country, I love my Nigeria no matter what"

https://beegeagle./2015/09/01/world-exclusive-photo-of-new-line-stretch-variant-of-the-streit-spartan-mk-3-apc-fielded-only-by-the-nigerian-army/

You say the Eben on Beegeagle is not same as Eben Barlow, so what makes the Augustine on Beegeagle same as Agaugust on Nairaland ? Prove it !

BTWN , I wonder why that Augustine on Beegeagle does not know SANDF is a dry land only army with no single amphibious armoured vehicle when Nigeria has about 500 amphibious armour for force projection around the world.

He never talks about SAAF having 19 km range missiles when NAF has 35 km range missiles, he seems to have a hidden agenda.

He does not even know your navys Valour Frigates have ZERO torpedoes in their empty tubes while NNS Aradu has dozens of torpedoes. Well, he is entitled to his opinion or he has an agenda of pushing Nigeria to arm up to next levels, smart guy then
