Hamilton-Class if used as a frigates will only be a toothless dog that won't even project force beyond Nigeria's shores. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 9:42am On Feb 20, 2016 |
Iblawi1: Deal with it. Yes in your dreams. That's where cutters are used as frigates. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 9:41am On Feb 20, 2016 |
Iblawi1: Dummy, even corvettes comes with all this features so should I call them destroyers too.
The capabilities of a frigate is by far different from a destroyer just as the capabilities of a corvette is different from a frigate. The only vessels with such close capabilities should be cruisers and destroyers. A frigate is a frigate and a destroyer is a destroyer.
The size, tonnage and level of Armaments of these vessels differentiate their capabilities. Some destroyers are 3 times the tonnage and size of a frigates and the Armaments differ a lot. You need a psychiatric clinic urgently. Covettes are small and are lightly armed. Mordern Frigates can do whatever destroyers can do dummy. They can shoot down fighters, launch torpedoes, destroy submarines, destroy other ships with ASM, etc. Can do everything that destroyers do |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 9:28am On Feb 20, 2016 |
Our topic here is based on whether NNS Thunder and Okpabana are indeed Frigates or not. Let us stop beating about the bush going from pillar to post jumping from one point to another. Let us leave everything else and concentrate on establishing whether is Hamilton-Class a frigate or not. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 9:09am On Feb 20, 2016 |
Iblawi1: Dummy corvettes with less than 1000 tons are armed with missiles even fast attack boats. You are very confused. Instead frigates can't carry the level of Armaments destroyers carry they are completely different. The only vessels that are that close should be cruisers and destroyers not frigates and destroyers dummy.
You didn't answer my question still. Frigates can be used for anti submarine warfare, Air defence warfare, launching missiles, torpedoes, etc. The same way destroyers are used for. Frigates are as well built to stand missile impact. |

Iblawi1: Please can you explain how NNS thunder look like a pirate ship? Secondly, I guess you don't know the size and tonnage of the NNS thunder and okpabana is almost the same as you Valour frigates. NNS thunder and Okpabana are both Cutters same way as pirates were historically known to use cutters. You don't even need a rocket scientist to tell you that Hamilton-Class is even smaller than corvettes and is even poorly armed. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 8:44am On Feb 20, 2016 |
Iblawi1: Now I just confirmed you are a fool. Tell me corvettes and frigates are same too or you can atleast tell us cruise and frigates are same too because you are confused. I have never claimed corvette and frigate are the same but what I know is that covettes are smaller and lightly armed than frigates. Destroyers and Frigates are almost the same and that's why some other navy's would use Frigates in place of destroyers. Both can be used for ASW, Air defence, launching torpedoes, etc The only person confused here is you. Frigates are built to withstand missiles and Cutters and Corvettes can never stand any missile attacks dummy. Only destroyers and Frigates will. So don't come and feed us your half cooked education of ignorance. Cutters are only good to be used as patrol assets. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 8:26am On Feb 20, 2016 |
Iblawi1: The size, tonnage and level of Armaments on the Spanish frigate F 105 is known to all to be a destroyer but the manufacturer and Spanish Navy says it's a frigates.
Same in Germany and in other navies. I guess you problem is because you only follow and believe what you are told without asking questions. Other people always make decisions for you. My Friend destroyers and Frigates do not differ much but a cutter can never be a frigate. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 8:12am On Feb 20, 2016 |
People must stop fooling other people around here. At least we don't leave in countries which are land locked. We can tell what is a frigate when we see one and as well we can tell what is a cutter when we see one. The top part of a frigate and cutter don't look the same and the cutter is smaller than a frigate. A cutter usually reminds you of those ancient pirates ships. Even if is a modern cutter it always takes that shape.

Iblawi1: Give me reasons why Nilgiri class are referred to as frigate and tell me why NNS thunder and NNS okpabana can't be referred to as frigates. Frigates are not made frigates because of your choice. The size of the ship and the level of armament as well as what the manufacture say is what finally determines it to be a frigate. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 7:49am On Feb 20, 2016 |
Iblawi1:
Now let me educate you a bit. Why is Argentina's meko 360 referred to as a destroyer and Nigerian meko 360 is referred to as a frigate? You need serious help. Argentinian meko 360 is a frigate same class as ARANDU. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 7:36am On Feb 20, 2016 |
Iblawi1: Even the Indian have used Nilgiri class frigates that was never armed with SAM or SSM.
You guys are confused and you think everyone must think the same way. NNS thunder and NNS okpabana are frigates just like the Indian Nilgiri class frigates.
Nigeria has 3 frigates and 2 OPVs currently. Your mind really need a serious overhaul. Tell me are you OK? NNS Okpabana is a former US coast guards cutter. It was never a frigates and is a Hamilton class. Its a navy cutter dummy. NNS thunder is as well a donation from US Coast guard. A Hamilton-Class Cutter. Never a frigate. Nigeria currently has zero frigate. ZERO. |

agaugust: [s]Big 1,800 to 3,300 Tonnes moderately armed navy ships with 76mm main guns and anti-missile decoys are not brown water vessels, their sizes and range are blue water capability.
NNS Thunder, NNS Okpabana, sail from north pole arctic ice zone down to south pole, and voyage far off to the end of the world in Australia, that is blue water capability sailing from one end of the planet to the other.
NNS Ambe Landing Ship Tank is back in service, refit completed 2015/2016, that is a blue water vessel that moved Nigerian tanks and artillery to Liberia and Sierra Leone. That is amphibious capability force projection.
NN controlling the entire Gulf Of Guinea up to SADC in response to Angola's distress call, is true and tested force projection.
Blue water navy and force projection does not mean the ship must carry missiles, the important thing is that It must be armed to meet the level of threat that is to be encounteree on it's mission. That is one thing the South Africans do not know, they think only missiles make blue water or force projection, but no !
There is peace time maritime security blue water missions and force projection, that is what Indian navy signed deal to do with Nigerian navy for long term, India has requested to be allowed to depend on Nigeria's blue ocean capabilities across the Atlantic ocean . [/s] Waste of energy. |

Iblawi1: Foolish comment from a Foolish South African. You will never learn. Yes maybe you can project force to Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe or Mozambique but not Nigeria except your definition of projecting forces does not include sustaining your forces and returning back home. it will be a suicide mission fool.
You know nothing about projecting forces. Our Navy can project force anywhere in sub-saharan Africa. No country in SSA has submarines or even fully functional frigates. |

why do navys have helicopter and fighter jets?
Why do they have replenishment ships?
You are a fool.
Why would Egyptian Navy buy mistral class carriers, landing crafts, helicopters?
You don't even have a blue water navy yet fool. South Africa can't project force anywhere dummy.
Foolish South African with dull brain. I can't help your foolishness. There is no cure for stuppiditty. I repeat. Any navy with frigates and submarines can project force. Frigates and Submarines make blue water navy assets you stuppid fool. You cannot use them in shallow waters but in deep seas. |

FighterPilot: The bottom line is that weapons might be somehow close to perfection but human error is always a factor. You must know that it is not easy at all to keep a laser beam tightly locked onto a target the size of a pin. Many militaries in the world have been missing targets many a times throughout their history and if you are part of military that will not even scare you at all. Russia recently missed four targets in Syria with their most trusted missiles but we understand because we are in the military.
Civilians like Agaugust and Henry won't understand at all. They would expect 100% done job. They will rule out the reality that God never created us to be perfect like machines. Remember, it is us humans who control those machines and it is us who cause them to be ineffective because of our limited sight.
I read how he (agaugust) claimed that a missile with a maximum range of 8KM would have to be launched at that range. That is a child mentality and what he claims is virtually impossible. That man recently reasons like a child, a baby for that matter. 10/10 post. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Msauza(m): 12:48pm On Feb 19, 2016 |
Iblawi1: Dummy projecting force means getting reasonable amount of force to enemy location and be able to sustain the needs of your forces and I expect you to know you still need to keep you home country safe.
You have just 4 frigates and 3 submarines tell us how many you will bring to Nigeria that has over 100 vessels and how many will be at home Secondly, We will also be happy to know how many troop and other equipment you will come along with.
Projecting forces = soldier +tanks+aircraft +naval vessel+ your ability to sustain them.
South Africa can't project force. That source is fake.
You are so dumb that you cannot see that we are talking about NAVY here. Tell me are you sane upstairs? Any navy that possess submarines and frigates, that is large warships can project force. SAN can undoubtedly project force. When are you going to be wise just for once? |

Agaugust must face reality and come to terms with the fact that nothing in the universe is perfect. All gunships in the world will somehow miss the target at one point and none is perfect. Arms manufacturers will assure you that if you want anything close to perfection then you must ready yourself to visit planet fantasy. |

agaugust: [s]Many....Helicopters like Apache, Harbin, Mangusta, Tiger, ATAK, Hind, etc fitted with Kornet missile, Hellfire missile, HJ-12 missile, Lahat missile, The laser homing attack missile (LAHAT) is a light-weight anti-tank guided missile produced by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). It was initially developed for Merkava tanks, and can be fired from vehicles, helicopters, vessels and remote installations.
The LAHAT is a very compact missile with a length of 975mm and diameter of 104.5mm. It weighs 12.5kg and relies on semi-active laser (SAL) guidance to engage targets using direct or indirect designation system.
The LAHAT missile can destroy stationary and moving targets at ranges up to 8km with pin-point accuracy. The high-performance armour piercing warhead ensures the LAHAT can penetrate even add-on reactive armour. [/s] Complete waste of energy. |

agaugust: You are always 100 steps behind us Nigerians all the time.
Let me educate you again as usual. Hellfire max range is NOT 8km as you say, it is 11 km.
"Each Hellfire weighs 45.4kg-49kg including an 8kg-9kg multipurpose warhead. It has 8km (LOAL, high trajectory), 7.1km (LOAL, low / direct trajectory) and 11km (UAS: LOAL, high trajectory) range depending on the trajectory."
http://www.army-technology.com/projects/hellfire-ii-missile/
You NEVER knew any ATGM has been hitting targets easily at 8 km range until I educated you. Agaugust when would you learn? Do you even know what is an UAS? It is an abbreviation for Unmanned Ariel Systems. That very version you are referring to is the most unreliable and inaccurate version of all Hellfires and is the reason behind Americas widespread critism of killing innocent civilians and causing collateral damage. It is very inaccurate and there is no records whatsoever that it once hit the target over 8km away. Ouch!!! Agaugust is yet again reduced to a fool he always was. |

I chose not to the talk to him because I realized the guy is due for admission at Aro mental hospital in Abeokuta, Governor Amosu recently provided new vacant beds there in the admission ward. Do you even know what does the word invention mean? It means coming with something that has never existed on the mother earth before. We have had drones and bomb disposal robots before Nigeria manufactured any. I think the person that needs to be admitted at Aro mental hospital is you sir. |

There is no visible missile launch in same video.
There is no visible target in the video.
There is NO proof that is even an helicopter launching a missile. All we see is a street and smoky explosion on the ground. Could just be a ground to ground mortar or RPG fire by unknown people on the ground. There is public record where Apache missed an open target in Afghanistan. I guessed you knew about the news since you claimed to be a military analyst who does not have journals. |

Your Lady Mokopa beautiful bride suddenly reached menopause during her wedding ceremony in front of her bridegroom Denel and invited wedding guests from Nigeria, Egypt, Poland . Why are you so dishonest? Mokopa hit the target the first time from ground laser beam. Let's talk about it. |

Maybe our fellow Nigerian experts can tell us why did the most trusted Apache missed its targets using Hellfire in Afghanistan and only ended up killing two farmers? Apache missed the target it could see using short range hellfire and with mokopa you cannot even see the target from range and you will only have to link with another platform like fighter jet or ground laser beams using interoperable TDL. http://m.military.com/video/operations-and-strategy/air-strikes/hellfire-misses-2-taliban/1838853040001/Let us hear what Henry has to say about this. |

Henry240: You'll come back with the same silly excuse when the missile misses at 1km.
If you make a claim, you should at-least have the decency to prove that claim, not to miss at target 2KM from what was advertised. Inability match claims is fraud.
Stop been fraudulent. Go away Mr loser. You and agagust failed to bring to us a single ATGM that has the ability to engage targets at over 8km. So you do not even deserve to argue about this topic anymore. |
