Please understand our position clearly. For the purpose or record and avoidance of doubt, we are not supporting crime and will never support any criminal be they Nigerian or South Africans. However, we feel strongly about the way the locals are attacking Nigerians in the name of fighting drug pushers? Does your law support moab action against suspect that has not been proven guilty against an offence by a court of competent jurisdiction? ARE MOABS NOW SUPPOSE TO ASSUME THE WORK OF POLICE?
Just imagine if some South Africans in Nigeria were accused by people on the street and the next thing, Area Boys stormed their residence or shops unleash terror on them, kill some and burn their properties, how would you feel? Why will South African government allow touts to attack Nigerians, what is the work of police? In the process of trying to attack the guilty you end up killing many innocents? Is that a civilised approach to fight crime. You certainly have a long way to go. History have a funny way of repeating itself. You guy will soon get your fingers burnt again, it will be worse than apartheid, let me see the African country you will run for refuge.

NOBODY WAS KILLED SO FAR.

Yes we believe in the principle of presumption of innocence until proven guilty by the court of justice. However, these thugs are taking advantage of South Africa being so democratic and I think the time has come that South Africa must adopt laws of other countries such as China in dealing with crime. We must now introduce death penalty against drug traffickers as well as introducing warrantless searches. All of those tough practices will help to curb the high rise of drugs in our country as many will be perishing under the wrath of that law.

Even under apartheid only few left the country and those were the ones the government kicked out because they saw them as threat to apartheid government. Otherwise, no matter how bad the apartheid government was they wouldn't take away our citizenship unnecessarily. Our people who were banned by apartheid never went to destroy other countries by peddling drugs, instead they went and become law abiding immigrants who were even isolated from the citizens of their host countries.

Take that protest to your parliament to make a law banning Nigerians that have no meaningful contribution to SA from entering your country and deporting illegal immigrant Nigerians.

Tell your brothers to stop behaving like they are in the stone age of babarism and tackle issues diplomatically.

In the late 70's when we didn't want Ghanaians in Nigeria we chased them out of Nigeria we didn't go about killing them on the streets like insects.

Be a voice of reasoning to your barbaric brothers.

Who said Nigerians are being killed? Nigerians who are caught in the process suffer the same fate that locals suffer when they are caught in the act.

I am not a drug addict nor do I have anything to do with drugs, you should not think that I am in support of drug addict or drug dealers, but I want you to take things diplomaticaly you should not take the law in your hands, if your country doesn't want drug dealers they should do as president Trump does to mexico by restricting the mexicans from entering USA,

Your country should also restrict Nigerians from your country it will be much more better than all these killings. Or your country should set a law just like Indonesia, malaysia and Arab countries.

Our country is very democratic and people are taking advantage of that.

You want to chase Nigerian drug lords away, to be replaced by South African Cartels?
I'm very sure we have drug lords who are South African, for sure. Are they the ones sponsoring you guys?
You say it's the Nigerians running the prostitution rings in your country? OK, its Nigerians that are responsible for the HIV epidermic in SA?, they're also responsible for the way you guys see unprotected sex as no biggie abi?
They're also responsible for how corrupt your police are who would let known drug lords walk about freely, without doing nothing?
You all need to go back to the drawing board and find out why your youths have lost all value Mr. Its not foreigners that are your problems o.
A lot of developed countries would collapse without foreigners in them btw. Of course we will always have the bad eggs amongst both foreigners and even locals. Thats just natural. Everybody cannot be good, but we shouldn't because of bad people take the law into our hands and start killing, and also STEALING from shops.
Don't be surprised that's the main reason for the attacks, and not any social justice ish.

We don't have South Africa drug cartel that does not have foreign influence. South Africans are in actual fact not in drugs business.

It is now our duty to protect them because those young boys who are being fed drugs are into a stage where they cannot make wise decisions and that include under age girls. Majority of those young girls are as a result of human trafficking. We now condemn all these heinous crimes by our foreign brothers in the strongest possible terms.

Has South Africans forgotten in a hurry how supportive the Nigerian Government were during apartheid?. How we spent a lot of our resources sending our soldiers over to help join forces at having them liberated. They do this to Nigerians?. I now comprehend the reason they were treated badly by whites. Those whites knew they are more animals than humans and didn't deserve freedom.

Just because Nigeria was supportive of SA anti apartheid struggle then SA will just have nothing to say when they see their country being demolished in mercy of drug hell? For your info, the world supported SA during the tough years of apartheid and Nigeria is not special in that regard.

There are many Nigerian doctors and educators here and we do not see every Nigerian as a drug peddler. We have enough information about those who are selling drugs from the boys that normally buy from them.

You have clearly shown by your comment the mindset of an average South African black. What you want us to believe is that South Africans are saints? Don't you know that it is absolutely impossible for foreigners to commit crime without active support or collaboration of the locals? It takes two to tango. Do you think an ordinary human being not doing drug will hack another human like the xenophobic guys are doing? You Government and police have failed to protect foreigners. You have completely lost sense of history. You have no idea the type of sacrifice made by Nigerian Government and people to bring the obnoxious apartheid policy to global attention and fight it.

I certainly place the blame at the door step of Successive administration in this country that embarks on policy that supports Africa at the expense of her national. We are wiser now, we must certainly assert ourselves and command respect. We not just going to seat and demand for respect, we are going to command respect.
We know the Zulus are backward in terms of civilization but we won't be victim of their lack of discernment.

So what you are suggesting is that we should just smile and laugh at what is going on into our country when our young are being fed drugs. We are against locals who are involved in crime as much as we are against foreigners who do not respect our laws. What you can only see out of this is xenophobia but you failed to look into the fact that your brothers are rotten to the core.

The fact that cannot be changed is that Nigerians have come to South Africa for the purpose of drug market only. Not all of course but majority are into peddling drugs. I see them everyday selling drugs to school boys. What happens is that, after these boys smoke drugs they go on rampage by killing, robbing and raping. This is the news that we wake up into everyday and when these young thugs are caught they confessed to have been under the influence of drugs acquired from Nigerians. When will these come to an end?

The only way to show them our anger is to retaliate, not by shading of blood but in a diplomatic way and if they didn't adhere to our diplomatic approach then we can use the plan B.

And our government should show them our wrath.
Any xenophobia attack against a single Nigerain is an attack against all of us.

If you want to turn a blind eye on the crimes that your fellow brothers commit here in South Africa, I will suggest that you could be suffering a worm penetration in your brain. Your brothers are peddling drugs and some are even owning brothels with girls as young as 12. Yes, there are good Nigerians in South Africa but their number is few.

OP, I wish I have power to give award on this forum that will recommend you for commendation by Seun.

I can't just imagine why anybody will think South African black will suddenly wake up and by converted from their Xenophobic mindset without the use of reasonable force. To also trust whatever Zuma say on ending the continual attack is to accept Judas' kiss.

Why I may not be in support of violent attack on South Africans in Nigeria, we must encourage the NANS to embark of peaceful protest that will probably disrupt one or two business days for the likes of MTN, DSTV etc in Nigeria and inscription on banners that will denounce Xenophobia and condemn South African government careless handling of the crime for the international community to see and be our witness that we have given enough warning against the attack. It will also teach the uncivilised black South Africans that in the 21st century Africans protesting a civilised way and get result.
ANC, may end up losing power to opposition if Zuma continue to lead SA the way he is doing.
If there is any country that deserves respect in Africa from South Africans, it is Nigeria. If we fail to make a good example of how not to disrespect Nigerians with South Africa, we should just forget about anything called respect in Africa.

Why would the world see South Africans as being xenophobic. I don't think there is anywhere in the world were foreigners are at ease with commiting crimes like it is in South Africa. We see Nigerians every bloody morning selling drugs to school children and are owning brothels everywhere trafficking women all over South Africa.

Amid all these, South Africans are expected to just fold their arms and watch as what was once their respectful country being turned into garbage bin by foreign drug lords who are flying the Nigerian flag sky high rampaging the lives of youth of South Africa. Poor South Africans with irresponsible government that is usually failing them are always supposed to be at the receiving end of all these heinous crimes. Young boys are being given drugs and ultimately commit more serious crimes like murder and rape. Those are the news that usually wake us up in the morning and such crimes have now elevated SA as a crime capital of the world. South Africans are merely doing operation clean up and there is nothing xenophobic about it. We personally wouldn't have a problem with a foreigner that is law abiding. Some of these hooligans are pastors by the day and at night they are peddling drugs.

Science/Technology / Re: The Earth Is FLAT. Discuss! by Msauza(m): 7:14pm On Jan 08, 2017
Rossikki:

Here's a full explanation by the flat earth movement.

The Phases of the Moon

When one observes the phases of the moon he is simply observing the moon's day and night, a natural shadow from the sun illuminating half of the spherical moon at any one time.

The lunar phases vary cyclically according to the changing geometry of the Moon and Sun, which are constantly wobbling up and down and exchange altitudes as they rotate around the North Pole.

When the moon and sun are at the same altitude one half of the lunar surface is illuminated and pointing towards the sun, This is called the First Quarter Moon. When the observer looks up he will see a shadow cutting the moon in half. The boundary between the illuminated and unilluminated hemispheres is called the terminator.

When the moon is below the sun's altitude the moon is dark and a New Moon occurs.

When the moon is above the altitude of the sun the moon is fully lit and a Full Moon occurs.

The time between two full moons, or between successive occurrences of the same phase, is about 29.53 days (29 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes) on average. This denotes the cycle of alternating altitudes.

Q: Why does everyone on earth see the same phase of the moon?

A: They don't. The phase you see varies depending on your location on earth. In Flat Earth Theory this is explained by the different observers standing on either side of the moon. On one side it is right-side up, and on the other side it is upside down.

Imagine a green arrow suspended horizontally above your head pointing to the North. Standing 50 feet to the South of the arrow it is pointing downwards, towards the Northern horizon. Standing 50 feet to the North of the arrow, looking back at it, it points upwards, above your head to the North. The arrow flip-flops, pointing down or away from the horizon depending on which side you stand.

http://www.theflatearthsociety.org/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=The+Phases+of+the+Moon

The earth is spherical. The only people who would take the earth as flat are lay persons. The proof that the earth is round is like when you look at the horizon, the earth and the heavens always seems to come together. That is because the earth is round. If the earth was flat, you would have never had that view where you see the earth and sky seems to touch each other from the distance.

Do you folks use common sense at all? Look at that map again. Why would a plane need to extend its journey by thousands of miles just to refuel? Alter its flight path by over 180° in a different direction when it could fly straight and short across the Indian ocean? How is it more lucrative to add thousands of miles extra to a journey? You make no sense.

Have you also looked at the distance of crossing the ocean from SA to Australia is longer than that of the middle east to Australia? I guess it will make no sense to fly over the indian ocean over long distance. It is risky.

Henry240:

Neither Nigeria or South-Africa has the military capability to launch an attack on one another. However that been said, I'll like to clear your post.

The Republic of South-Africa as we know it today, is nothing, in no area compared to the South-Africa under Apartheid. The SADF under Apartheid was actually the force to be feared with the government at that time spending 5% of GDP on defence. The current SANDF is a hugpurge of a bunch of freedom fighters, barely trained MK fighters who were integrated into what is now the SANDF. Most of the old white fighters have basically left the SADF to Australia, NZL or to become Private Military Contractors(PMCs). Basically mercenaries for hire.

On the other hand, we've had a militarily active force for the past 23 years. Our army has been engaged in one campaign or the other in across Africa and in Nigeria for these past years.

South-Africa doesn't have any decent Air Defence apart from the Gripens (I'll get to the Gripens in a bit). In terms of number of tanks, we far outnumber them. They basically operate just over a hundred Centurion tanks, they call it the Olifant in RSA.

In artillery pieces, in Tank Killers (AFVs) we also outnumber them. What RSA has more than Nigeria are IFVs and APCs (MRAPs). When we take into account our experience and a large pool of battle tested personnel, our generals are also better battlefield tacticians. We would beat them fare and square.

On the Gripen, RSA has 26 Gripens, with 12 on continuous rotation, leaving 12 available for combat, they also only have 9 qualified Gripen pilots, just 9 for 26 Fighters. That's not an advantage, especially when you consider they signed for the Gripen in 1999. It means, they don't have the intellectual pool to fly the Gripens. In Nigeria, we have no such problems, we got more pilots than planes, and our air force is by no means small by an African standard. We've also recently ordered the JF-17, the JF-17s are in the same class as the Gripen, with very similar capabilities. Most experts say it is about 80% of the f-16 Block 52+, one of the latest F-16 models.

Egypt on this continent is playing in a different league, the Egyptians have over 260 F-16s and have ordered 36 Rafales, they have more Main Battle Tanks than some cities have people. Egypt is light years ahead of everyone in Africa.

Algeria also has a military that is better than either South-Africa or Nigeria.

In actual reality if Nigeria were to go to war with South-Africa which thankfully none of the countries have the ability to wage war against the other, such a conflict would likely end in a stale mate.

Fact 1!!! Nigeria has below average artillery which is by far weaker and outdated than that of SA.

Fact 2!!! Nigeria has no single pilot that can fly modern fighter jets. Having more than a pool of fighter pilots who can fly outdated fighters doesn't immediately translate into having the capability to fly powerful modern fighter machines. It will take you lot of money and resources to accomplish that. Remember Nigeria, as much as SA struggles in terms of budgets because they are both concentrating in building their economies. We have seen Nigeria throughout using only less than three fighters at a time and so you cannot suggest to us that you have more pilots than your fighters. Nigeria has never come out with that INFO and thus we are all in the dark. Who knows they are even worse than SA in those challenges? THAT'S JUST YOUR OPINION. Nigeria had never in any day took to the skies all their only 8 available fighters at once. Such we are yet to see.

Fact 3!!! JF-17 is far inferior than JAS Gripen. What makes a powerful fighter is its RCS size. Look at your Junk Fighter RCS size and compare it to that of gripen and see that Gripen will detect Junk Fighter way ahead before it can notice that the Griffin is there. Look at the speed and see the reason why Junk Fighter has even failed to be recognised by many countries as the fouth gen fighter. CONCLUSION: Nigeria was dupped in a "Fong Kong" Asian friendly way because they were desperate. The junk fighter cannot definitely match a European Griffin fighter.

FACT………FACT…………FACT………FACT…………FACT

Why do you think there are no direct flights between Cape town, South Africa and Sidney, Australia?

See the map of a 'Spherical' earth.

As you can see, travel from Cape Town to Sidney, on a spherical earth should be a short, straightforward trip across the Indian Ocean, yes?

But here's the deal:

Flights between Cape town and Australia ALWAYS stop in the Middle East, eg, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, etc first, before 'coming down' again to land in Sidney. And vice-versa.

WHY DO YOU THINK THAT IS? wink

OK.... Here's the answer:

Flights between Cape Town and Australia, ALWAYS pass through the Middle East because that is the SHORTEST POSSIBLE DISTANCE BETWEEN THE TWO LOCATIONS.

WHY?

BECAUSE THE EARTH IS FLAT.

Bwahaha… this is not true!!!

Pilots and particularly airline companies avoid flying over the ocean in a longer distance. Hence just like human jumping over water to the other side, they would mainly avoid jumping directly and instead use stepping stones to shorten the distance of jumping over. It's better as it helps one from taking longer steps as to end up falling over and dirty oneself. Now, for airlines it is lucrative, safe and helps in terms of refueling.

3. 60% of Nigerians in the US have college degrees. This is
far above the American national average of 30%.
4. Nigerians in US are one of the highest earners, typically

9. The wealthiest Black man and woman on earth are
Nigerians, Aliko Dangote and Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija. Both
have no trace of criminal record of any kind.
10. South Africa couldn’t have ended apartheid & achieved
Black rule if not for the leadership role Nigeria played.
11. Of the 3 South African Presidents who
ruled after apartheid, two of them once
lived in Nigeria under asylum. Both Nelson Mandela (60s)

President of South Africa. We gave financial support, human
support, boycotted an Olympics and
our politicians, musicians and activists campaigned
relentlessly.
12. Nigeria spent over $3 Billion and lost
hundreds of soldiers to end the wars in both Liberia and
Sierra Leone which the world ignored because they have no
oil.
13. When there was a coup in São Tomé and Príncipe in
2003, Nigeria restored the
elected President back to power.
14. Before there were street lights in European cities,
ancient Benin kingdom had street lights fueled by palm oil.
15. 500 years ago, Benin casted metal alloys to create
magnificent art including the world famous Queen Ida Mask.
16. Amina was a warrior queen who ruled Zaria Emirate in
Kaduna state, Northwestern Nigeria 400 years ago in 1610.

17. We gave monetary gifts to Ireland during our oil boom
and built a statue for

If all you do is listen to mainstream Western media, you’ll
not get the full picture of your Nigerian heritage.
Do not listen to any leader who says Nigerians are criminals,
no matter who he is, or his height and position.
We’re not a nation of scammers, drugs & corruption, but a
people with a verifiable track record of greatness.
==========
Here is what CNN, BBC, Aljezeera and western media will
not tell you about Nigerians:
19. On the 7th May, 2016 at Howard University in
Washington D.C history was
made. Out of 96 graduating Doctor of Pharmacy candidates,
43 of them were Nigerians and out of 27 awards given, 16
went to Nigerians.
The entire world still envies our uniqueness as a NATION
with living together despite our ethnic diversity. One single
country with over 400 languages.
They will only tell you how Nigerians are scammers and
cheats, how Nigerians are into drugs overseas et al.
If you don’t blow your trumpet, no one
will blow it for you.
#VIVA_NAIJA!!
20. There are over 180,000,000 Nigerians
world over and only less than 250,000 of this figure have
traceable criminal records.
This is about 0.14% of our entire national population in the
last 20 years: nothing close to 1%. Shame on global media.
Listen Nigeria, don't let anybody woo you
into believing that you are a criminal just because you are a
Nigerian.
Nigerians are NOT criminals.
You are NOT a criminal.
You are topnotch; second to none around the world.
I am proud am created a Nigerian, thank you God.
Be proud of Nigeria wherever you go.
Take out your Passport with pride.
Be proud of our GREEN HERITAGE.
Be enthusiastic of our FUTURE GREATNESS.
#Please_share_widely_and_let_us_spread_globally_the_truth_
of_who_we_really_are.

1.There is no record of Mandela of ever lived in Nigeria. If he failed to mention it himself in his auto biography, then it never happened.

2. SA never gained her freedom through Nigeria. It gained her freedom through her own people. Nigeria was among countries that boycotted Apartheid government in common wealth. The likes of Russia and Cuba contributed immensely to the extent that they even took up arms against apartheid government.

I only wanted to correct only those two lies.

I beg to disagree with you.

Nigeria has over 300 tribes while south Africa has just less than 20.

Tribes is not diversity. Tribes translate to people of the same race but different dialetics.

i thought nigeria was the biggest economy in Africa, what are the nigerians doing in a poor country like South africa?

South africans developed their own country, nigeria should do the same and stop causing problems in foreign countries.

Only if Nigerians can stop selling drugs. I know of many Nigerians here who sit by the corners selling drugs on small.children. What about that? Now their lives are more important than those of their victims who they feed drugs to death. I have seen many children losing their lives because of the drugs they buy from Nigerians. What about that? Of course they wouldnt mention any of those because theirs is greediness. They are playing with fire yet they do not want to be burned

AfroCircus:
I just had to do a research of slums in Africa to justify population given and the numbers are grim

Nairobi - 2.5 million (60%) slum dwellers http://www.kibera.org.uk/facts-info/

Cape Town - 3 million slum dwellers http://capetown2012.jimdo.com/slums/?mobile=1

Lagos- every 2 out of 3 people in slums (10 million people) http://www.irinnews.org/news/2006/09/05/lagos-mega-city-slums

Cairo - 40% of people in slums (4.8 million people) http://www.al-monitor.com/pulse/politics/2013/11/egypt-slums-ticking-time-bomb.html

If the above numbers are any where near the reality, then Africa hardly has cities, they're more of urban villages

Your source is incorrect. The whole of Cape town has 3 million people. So do you mean all of them live in slums.

South African indeed always trying to just the killing of a Nigerian with drug accusation .The one killed early this year in Kempton park by your people because he was with much rand ,drugs was use as excuse .You posted in 2012 you want to date a Nigerian gal,no reasonable Nigerian gal wil date you .Always justifying barbaric act

It won't help you to deny it but your friends down here in Mzansi are dealing in drugs. Period. Okorie was found with drugs times without numbers. In China he would have been killed long time without you complaining.
