Very Important question pls: I was 30yrs old as at 31st Dec 2018 with 2012 B.Eng (2:2), 2013 NYSC, 2016 Msc and 2yrs non Oil & Gas experience. Should I go for GT and use my date of birth like that with 2014 as NYSC and Bachelors graduation dates since there's no option to select actual ones OR Apply for EH as a Senior Officer with a deficit of 4yrs experience? Which is better pls? I just want to try my luck |
harveybeaks:So it's not advisable to apply for me to apply for EH since I have just 2yrs exp? And please what's your own no of yrs of experience and the category you eventually went for? |

browniecay:The corper should go to any branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (I suggest Maitama branch due to the higher number of Elect. Engrs as members), register with them and approach any member of the Exco. You should get help. They usually hold monthly meetings at the Raw Materials Research & Development Council (RMRDC) at 5pm but I'm not sure of the specific weekday of each month. So he should visit http://nsemaitama.org.ng/2017-2018-executive-committee/ and find this out or locate the branch secretariat with relevant documents plus CV if possible. |
As long as I can access my profile and no regret mail sent to me, my hope stays alive! ![]() |
Oloye12345:Who PVC help? ![]() |
Next week never dies That's DPR thread for y'all. Fingers crossed and patiently waiting for next week ![]() |
Phew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
caruzo:It means each CoC comes with a spare in case one is hijacked by cabals ![]() |
Abdulmusty87:It can be your state of origin only if that's where you reside or if it's the closest zonal/field office to you. The address you provided is what they're going to use regardless of your origin. If you hail from Lagos but live in the FCT, and you make the final list, your APL will be sent to Abuja for pickup by you (I stand to be corrected). |
hammer2010:So na from nursery/primary you start? I been dey think say you skip am come start from secondary because u make them laugh too much sotay the school suspect say you don pass that level ![]() |
TDultimate:Oga, I didn't say it's a lie o! For DPR sake it's just an opinion of mine which I mentioned that it could turn out not to be the case so I should be the one asking you what the matter is. By the way, you are forgiven ![]() |
In my opinion, this recruitment is too sensitive for DPR to have come this far (with the attendant delays, stress, attention, etc) and decide to just hand out APL's to a selected few before others are officially contacted. I could be wrong but I think the best they could do is let them know that their candidates were considered and would be contacted directly. After all the stakeholders may have gone through will they expect early contact or complain or dictate exactly how & when to receive APL's after being assured of their candidates' success? I don't think so! Besides, even if only 5 people have their letters before official contact is made may lead to unnecessary tension and brouhaha because many will be disappointed and may consider the whole recruitment as unfair or hijacked or something like that since they feel they're influential. Tami spoke well and as marvel said, time will tell. Now that it's a sure thing that the end is here, everyone should please exercise patience. If we can survive over 700 days of all these why not 10 days or less? Chill guys. ![]() |
binajiya:That's great! Same here bro! |
makonko:Don't worry I won't but if you provide it on your own no problem ![]() |

san316:Why isn't anyone talking about the very poor pay package as unprofessionalism on the part of government? Were you expecting more from them with those peanuts they're being paid and how they're poorly treated generally? ![]() |

Why won't small notes be scarce ![]() In my opinion, what needs to be done is scrapping N1000 note and if possible even N500 note too! Yes you read that right! Making N200 the highest note or at most N500 is one of the best things that can happen to this country right now because it will automatically increase the value of the smaller ones, may cause prices of some products to decrease, render monies hidden by corrupthieves useless or force them to bring them out and most importantly discourage laundering, illegal/unreasonable currency stashing, etc, which is currently very easy for them since they can move a lot of money while handling lesser number of notes. No wonder most stashes are in dollars but plenty naira may still be hidden in so many places. Just take a look at the highest denominations of major countries:- UK = 50 pounds USA/Canada/Australia = 100 dollars UAE = 200 dirhams South Africa = 500 rands China = 500 yuan France/Germany/Italy/Spain = 500 euros and so on! Even though the likes of UAE & Mexico also have 1000 notes and even some with higher notes like India (2k), Russia (5k), Japan (10k), S/Korea (50k), most, if not all of those countries are better than Nigeria in terms of level of development, sources of forex, local manufacturing, stability, etc. It is also worth mentioning that these high denominations are not even common in some of those countries: in some places in the UK for example, 50 pound notes won't be accepted from you! Recently, the European Central Bank voted to end production and stop issuance of the 500-euro note by 2018, at which point the newly-released 200-euro Europa series banknote will be the highest circulating denomination in the eurozone (Coinweek.com). I am neither an economist nor a banker but why can't we emulate this? With notes like N1000, coins may not be of any use and prices will continue to remain high. I think doing away with high notes can help Nigeria to control the looting prowess of public officials and ultimately the flamboyant spending, thereby increasing the relevance of smaller currency notes. I rest my case. |
If possible, try and get to Lagos if you think your name is among. |
@olyton and @yusufbala2010 Induction is over and training is ongoing at different locations. Some people joined the training even after it started because they got their APL's late and they had their documentation separately since they missed the induction. |
If I have my way, ALL recruitment activities into any government agency MUST be completed within a maximum of 2 months! With the technological advancement in recent times, this is not impossible ![]() |
Nice one! This is the kind of story I like to come across not those about bloodshed, theft or witchcraft. |
nenergy:Very unlikely for now. I may reconsider if the dollar exchange rates drastically drops but certainly not something very expensive. |
Onyiridike and Tetragramaton are right. The list of people with these politicians is very very much. They have children, friends, relatives, neighbours, present/former/prospective colleagues/bosses, random people, etc. They can't help all of them even if they want to because the slots are limited and highly competitive. There is more to just knowing them or knowing someone who knows someone that knows them. It depends on the extent to which they feel you deserve the job and this is where so many factors come into play. In the end, it shall be by God's decree. |
makonko:Yes o, nobody wants to hear it. Same here. Hopefully all will be done and dusted with by March. |
hammer2010:don't worry we're all responsible for our own posts ![]() |

hammer2010:I overheard something similar recently but didn't bring it here because I know many people here won't have any of it and I'll most likely get unwarranted insults. I was made to understand that it could be because some strong forces are not having their backs being rubbed to their satisfaction, if you know what I mean. May be true or just rumours but only God knows what's gonna happen since they're in need of more manpower and there's a ban on fresh recruitments for now. Putting it on hold certainly won't help matters considering the time frame and the resources put into it already. Anything can happen sha. I'll keep advising people to take this whole thing off their minds for now so as not to get too disappointed in case the dreaded thing happens (it certainly will for many since not everyone will get in) but in case the divinely sweet thing happens then fine and good. Sometimes you'll chase sth but it's when you decide to face other things that you'll then get what you've always wanted or even better in most cases! HIS time is the best. Not only job but partner, money, etc. |
