I told you we existed before Somalia came about our original name is Somaliland sweety. Our whole appeal for recognition is we used to be a country 50 years ago as Somaliland so its a good case. But the African union are scared all states will want a country so the AU is scared to grant us recognition. Also Egypt have issues with Ethiopia so its in there best interests a united Somalia to carry on being enemies with our ancient neighbors ehiopia. So those are our main opposition the African union.

This sucks ooooo. . . . . But is the country a well built country? Like are the electricity stable and water is clean and people have jobs and the roads are good and all?

Well we have a lot of that:

It shows some of the oldest forms of Human life in the entire world. You know the theory every human was born in africa and than went out to asia, ruope etc. Well the that place in Africa is the horn of Africa Ethiopia and Somalia.

We have lots of ancient history, Somalia is a very famous place that has mentions since 10th century, we have a lot. Our only issue is people don't care what is happening. All we can do is give awareness and put our name out their.

A celebrating well we have the double olimpic gold medalist in the hardest sport long distance running ATHELETICS . I don't think it gets bigger than that I hope he wins next year too.

He even brought out the flag when he won the gold. We have all of that you said hun just someone is holding us down

The thing is news run and fades away fast like a wind,. U guys needed to keep going on. U know? And also because of the name Somali Land which is really close with Somalia, people will treat it as the same thing thats why I say its better to change names.

Uhmmm. . . Maybe its high time you guys produce sumthin good like say produce a celebrity! U know, stuff like that will really get people's eyes opening and to see the difference.

Like my state, the reason why people dont recognize it its because its the smallest island in the entire country and u cannot even see it on the map cause its toooooo tiny. Its like a speck. But the surprising thin is even people dont know us, they are still so many foreigner coming in here because of the duty free status, we are filled with oil and gas and the island is too damn peaceful!Its starting to get well known because of this. So maybe you guys can do sumthin about it Small things can make a huge difference.

Let me give you an example, imagine your country at its present state and suddenly your government said that he/she wanted to make Somali land as a full grown Garden paradise and he/she instruct he people to plant beautiful big and small colorful flowers surrounding your entire country! NOw that would definitely catch people's attention! People would want to write about it and inquire more about it.

You mean to say Somalia and Somaliland are two completely different countries?WOW! I didnt know that!

Well, if your president is keen on making Somaliland known as a different counry on its own, than he/she should hang the country name entirely! and than bring the news to BBC news in the United States. I know they are big when it coms to news and gossips!

And also it will be good if he let Wikipedia knows about it and also ask a reported to write it up on Google and Yahoo News.

I understand how you feel cause the state which Im living in in malaysia wven most malaysians dont know about it.
