mignone:Nigeria constitution does not make the Governor to be accountable to the Presidency. "The Proof" you are asking for is a form of report to the Presidency on how the rice is distributed. That will be an overreach by the President in our constitution. The Governor is constitutionally allowed to give account ONLY to the State House of Assembly. Once the Assembly approves, the Governor is all in the clear. And who are in the State House of Assembly? The one the Governor bought their electoral form for? Their election is the one the populace don't care about - they simply thumbprint. So why should the President be blamed for a non functional State House of Assembly where the Governor and the speaker are friends. In an attempt to blame the Presidency, let us do so with facts and not ASSUMPTIONS. |
mignone:Do you expect the Presidency to share the rice in each state or you expect the Governors to give account on how the rice is shared to the President? Just asking |
While I do not support the idea of these rubbish palliiatives, at least President distributed rice to all the states to ameliorate the condition of the citizens to certain extent, however the big elephant in the room sit on it - the Governors. Till each state directs the fury of the protest to the Governor instead of the President. Oyo State Governor has never taken leave in his life as a Governor but will commence leave on Monday during the protest. Is that not the time, as the number i Chief Security Officer, to ensure calm and security in the states. But he is fearful like the rest and tactically taking the easier route out to escape the fury of the people. Deal with the Governors in your states first, who squander monthly allocations due to your state before you think of Presidency. |
Nigeria went to this Olympic to be beaten in all events so far. Gone are the days when we would have posted some medals on the table. Shame! |
Islie:He should simply shut up. Unblock all the lines. That is the simple directives from the regulatory body. Dont teach us on the need to have a database which you cannot even secure. |
God1000:You sat down in your house, egging people on. |
integrity16:Every time you typed, you goofed. So you would be blame Tinubu for a rubber stamp assembly? Was he the one who asked you to vote in men and women with zero integrity from your constituencies into the Federal Legislature. One day, i suspect you will blame Tinubu for your dick not rising. |
integrity16:Look at what you typed as someone who "claims" to be close to power. Look at the bolded. Tell me where a Nigeria President has the constitutional authority to unilaterally change Federal Legislature from Bicameral to unicameral. And you were angry when I referred to you as "half baked". Can you see I was right about you? |
NiRfreak:Read what you typed again. You just ranted without substance. Egging people on to burn the vehicle of people who decided not to join a protest. Calling them selfish because they chose not to join. It is your like that spend forever at Kirikiri prison and you would now be claiming ignorance of the law before a judge. Anyway, idiots like you are holed up in your room while encouraging others to cause harm in the society. |
Malikdking:I don't always dignify your likes with a response but you are so silly to upend the discourse. You didn't even follow the trail of the discourse, you just jumped in like a mad man that you are. Stop changing the trajectory of a thread you are unaware of how it starts or what is being discussed. Consider this as my last piece to you, I am not the source of your hunger and frustration. ![]() |
NiRfreak:Being part of a protest is by choice. While exercising your right to protest, you cant stamp on other's people fundamental right to freedom of movement. Stop sounding like a deranged animal here. |
43Ronin:You saw the funds with your own eyes but could not give any details surrounding it? ![]() ROTC that you are referring to is called the Reserved Officer Training Corps; it is a way to enlist people into the miliitary. When they provide you scholarship, you MUST serve minimum of 8 years with the US military AFTER graduation. Once you have enlisted, you have paid back the cost of your scholarship, which could even be with your life. Grant does NOT come with a condition. When a grant is given, you don't have to do anything compulsorily after graduation. Can you see you are a tad disillusioned? ![]() You guys are always quick to point to US and UK where their citizens pay lot of taxes. Most of you have never paid a single penny to Nigeria Government from your cradle to adulthood. |
Saao:I am sorry but you are making zero sense here. |
43Ronin:Organisations, like world bank, NED, UN, private foundations mostly give grant. You cant expect Nigeria with her economic outlook to start giving grant. You guys are simply unintelligent. Like a baby, you do not know the implications of what you ask for. Don't tell me "western countries", let us know the country where your friend was offered a grant of 20k USD and 15k loan to study law for a year 1. I am interested in knowing the country that gives such a generous offer for a non-tax payer. When you guys want to lie here, you start by saying - "my friend", "my cousin", "my brother". . Tell us the fictitious country, man |
integrity16:Illiteracy and half baked education cannot make you make a coherent and robust argument. First go and check the meaning of "Grant" as compared to "Loan", then you will understand why your so-called saner climes like US and UK could not afford it. Just like the person that held the placard, I knew you didnt know the difference. You seem to have an exagerrated opinion about Nigeria - Let me tell you - "Nigeria is broke". Nigeria used to be a rich nation but maladministration over the years had destroyed its economy. So, don't only wait for "grant", you can also ask the president to build house for each one of you because you are a citizen of an oil rich nation. |
Anunakeeh:You are hiding in your room but showing direction to protester. Hypocrite and a Coward! |
Asquare84:Have you been to Asokoro before? If they open the gate of Aso Rock for you, fear won't let you enter, I swear. Do you think the residence of the President is like that of your village Oba? |
Thieving politicians will be laughing at the billion that would be budgeted to replace the lost items. Foolish protesters enabling the politicans to steal their commonwealth. Is this how to protest? |
i read one of the placards stating " we need student grant NOT loans". These guys are more misplaced than their thieving politicians. Where will Nigeria fund education for her teeming population with grants ?. Even almighty UK and US dare not |
press9jatv:So, because you see this crowd, you became emotional and concluded that Trump would win. You are hilarious! |
naptu2:Let the truth be told Onyeka Owenu in her lifetime had a better chance of being a President than Peter Obi if she was fielded as an aspirant. She had done more for Nigeria than Peter Obi would ever dream of. Peter Obi keeps dividing the Nation while Onyeka Owenu unified the Nation. Likes of Onyeka and Sunny Okosun were gem, and ran across the spectrum of our country. Devastating News. |
Tenshades:Thank you |
Tenshades:Glo barred my line two months ago. Does this NCC guideline applies to individual like me? |
Sabadon:Don’t port to Glo. Don’t port from frying pan to fire |
Nigeria first success after 6 events at the olympic |
press9jatv:Will you be part of it sincerely or you are egging people on while you watch big brother Naija in the confine of your room. |
Gbajabiamila1:Thank you. Our people are so docile. See how they were praising Makinde on the first page of this thread. A Governor that deserves to be stoned. |
chiiraq802:If turkey attacks Israel and Israel attack back, will NATO article 5 be triggered? Turkey is a NATO member, will US fulfil her mandate of striking Israel who is US strong ally? This Looks quite complex to navigate. |
SeyiI Makonde was trying to play politics to evade the anger of the people. He was trying to pretend to be on the side of the people. If anyone deserves to face the wrath of the protesters, he is one of them. He has sold all Oyo states commonwealth in form of land to private hands. When association of architects protested against him, he seized all their cars for months. Don’t be fooled by this pretender of a Governor. He is never by your side. |
Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz has responded to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s statement on possibly entering Israel to defend Palestinians. “Erdogan follows in the footsteps of Saddam Hussein and threatens to attack Israel,” Katz said on X, referring to the former Iraqi leader. “Just let him remember what happened there and how it ended.” Hussein was executed in 2006 after being sentenced to death by an Iraqi court, convicted of crimes against humanity. Freshtruth:Dont be mean. That keeper kept the scoreline low. She has been the busy of the keepers on the pitch |
Falcon knocked out as it stands. |
