There's no way to prevent this EXCEPT the complete elimination of ALL subsidies and price regulations and also privatization of all government owned commercial enterprises.

I'll like anyone to give me an outline of how to reduce this kind of fraud or corruption.

Government University is subsidized so lecturers devise ways of charging extra, up to and including demanding for SEX as payment for admission.

Petrol is sold at government subsidized and regulated price and people buy and smuggle it to Benin Republic and Cameroon to resell at higher price.

Government ministries and corporations hire people and the bosses take cut of the employee salary and of course the employee hardly shows up for work. He'll there are THOUSANDS of government employees living abroad and still collecting salary!!!

And it's not just Nigeria, it's a world wide thing! The impact is so big in Nigeria because the populace has low productivity.

The populace has low productivity because government owns or controls ALL factors of production in Nigeria...and Venezuela and North Korea and Liberia and many other places. It's madness.

So someone tell us how this can be stopped.

Good Luck to Nigeria.
God bless you richly.

Corruption is in almost every Nigerian.

All tiers of Government, Ministries, Agencies, parastatals are all corrupt.

The citizens complaining are massively corrupt too.

Let one member of their families win an election, they will be jubilating. Ask why they are jubiliating, they will say it is their own turn to loot our commonwealth.

We need a very strong deterrent but the Judiciary is another beehive of corruption. The situation in the country is very daunting.

This is a huge reason why Nigerians need not walk back on that planned protest. Do not care how long it will take, if it takes one year, so be it.

What do we have to lose? We already lost our country to selfish leaders, we might as well go all out.

Nigeria belongs to Nigerians and Nigerians decide who rule over them.

So this Fayemi is an idiot. I lost my respect for him today.

Nigeria politicians always quick to reference foreign countries when it suits them. Do Governors behave in the way they do abroad? Do Governors have broad powers? Do Governors earn security votes which they do not have to account for? Can Governors flout the order of the Supreme Court Justices abroad even if the judgement doesn't suit them?

Fayemi should have donned the garb of the supreme justices to interprete the law for us. What lessons was he passing to the coming generations? For them to disregard the rule of law?

Stupid and lawless people in power! I have said it many times here , Governors are our problems in this country and not the president.

Okay, let me take it from this Angle, since you have such low sense of reasoning.

Does the FG have a ministry of agriculture?

Can the FG procure lands?

If the FG doesn't have unlimited funds to spare, is it state governors that have?

Not even to mention that the FG that doesn't have unlimited funds to venture into agriculture have funds to subsidize Hajj and buy a yacht of N5b

If it's stupid for the FG to negotiate for lands from governors for something as crucial as agriculture, the what purpose will it be wise to negotiate?

ómódè ní é

If not that you're a child, when do you ever see that an allocation is give to state governors for "agriculture" ?

Answer this questions and you'll see that you need to tender a unreserved apology to me for wasting my time on a child.

This section is not for children. Stay off.

It's been a tedious job educating you.

Don't reply. I won't dignify you with another response. It seems your head only serves the purpose of separating your head. Nothing more.
Dont run off like a deranged dog with its tail tucked between his legs.

I have never seen an idiot of this magnitude on Nairaland.

I will educate you till you have no where to run.

At the bolded, you claimed that FG has "Ministry of Agriculture". In your miserable opinion, you felt that FG has a farm where it produces crops and rears animals grin grin cheesy cheesy. Empty head, I have attached to this thread the main responsibilities of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture. The FG only work through the State Governors because it is the States that own the lands. Federal Ministry of Agriculture only provide REGULATIONS which all the State Ministry of Agriculture must adhere to. Can you now see your stupidity? There is no reason for the FG to procure lands from the States when the States have the wellwithal (funds) to undertake Agriculture. Federalism does not work that way, Idiot

Secondly, if you are not a nitwit, you would realise that the monthly allocation given to each state through the Governors is all-encompassing - health, education, agriculture, Works etc. Fools like you do not even know what constitutes the Monthly Allocation. Your stupidity has no limit. It is up to the Governors to use the money as they deem fit, and the Governors are not constitutionally accountable to the presidency!. If the Governor chooses to squander the money meant for the Agriculture in his state's monthly allocation, there is nothing the President can do.

How you even attempted to air opinion in this matter is beyond me because you have no depth. You open your mouth "waaaaaaah" and you disgraced your entire lineage on this thread. I was intentionally quoting your response so that others could see your madness is incurable, and to stop you from editing your previous messages.

Learn to read and research. The world would have been a better place if you had been flushed away from your mum's womb. Now, the world has to deal with your idiocy. Pathetic lot.

It beggars beliefs that hopeless individuals who cannot administer a group of 3 people are claiming expert by hiding behind the internet to advise the Presidency. Beast of nature, you are.

Stop comparing in an uneducated manner.

Person earning 800k in Nigeria will do much more than someone earning 2000 USD abroad. The person earning in Nigeria is exposed to Nigeria economy and not US economy. For instance if he rents a house, he doesn’t neeed to pay 1.5 million per month. Calculate the percentage of income that is wiped off abroad by just house rent.

You design an application to scale as the traffic increases and you deploy some infrastructure to help in the process too.

Question the so called consultants who design and architect the apps rather the number of people accessing the site.

I won't ignore your foolishness. Enough of condoning foolishness on this platform.

Let me take you back to your first comment I quoted.

You were talking about reducing the hunger in the land and I asked simple questions. Who spiked the hunger to this level? Was it the state governors?

In case you don't know, subsidy and he floating of naira are what spiked hunger and inflation.

Are the governors responsible for that?

Then, you talking about agriculture, are you telling me that the federal government can not get lands in each state for farming?

I just used army barracks as an example that if the FG can procure lands for army barracks then, they should be able to get lands for farming but because you've been blinded by your stupidity and willingness to defend the government by all means, you couldn't it.

Fool, the one who caused the hunger should be the one taking the major steps to bring it down. So, let the federal government start farming, the state governors will follow.

Not even to mention that the president you're defending has not still assented to the minimum wage bill sitting on his table since last week. Clueless president! Foolish supporter.
I’m not gonna spare you because you lack the mental acuity to process things.

When a nation can feed herself and able to export , it helps the larger economy. To address hunger, you need to start paying attention to Agriculture. It is as simple as that but your kind are half baked who just want to cluelessly engage in a debate.

State Governors collect monthly allocation from FG. They are given money to boost agriculture in their states but the Governors do not prioritise agriculture. All farm lands in the states have been converted to real estate. The states own the land and it’s stupid of you to suggest that Fg should go and negotiate for land from the States. What then happens to the money already included in the state’s monthly allocation regarding agriculture? Or your empty brain thinks fg has access to unlimited fund they can play with?

Now you are foaming in the mouth like a leper that FG should ask for land from the states when the monthly allocation received by the Governors already caters for agriculture? Why don’t you place the failure to boost agriculture on the doorsteps of the Governors who are not willing to connect with the real farmers in their states? Should all your frustration ends with the FG?

If hunger has knocked sense off you, go to your family land to till the land.

You type like you reason - silly you grin cheesy

I asked again - are you well so? cheesy grin cheesy grin

Are you foolish?

Was it state governors that said subsidy is gone?

Are they the ones that floated the naira?

Are they the ones in charge of security?

Who told you FG doesn't have the right to lands in states? The military barracks that are built isn't it the federal government that owns them?

Why can't FG go into farming?
I wanted to ignore you before because you are so dumb.

So FG should use military barrack as farmland and feed the nation while you overlook the states who have unfettered access to arable lands in their care to farm ?

You are so blinded in your quest to blame the FG. We are talking about agriculture, you are talking about subsidy .

Are you well so?

If the hunger is too much, why are you blaming the presidency.

The states own the lands and the state governors collect fat monthly allocation. What are the governors policies on the farm lands in their respective states? How are they saving farm land from real estate?

If all the governors dedicate 10% to farming, there will be abundance. They will rather build poor road where they can easily loot.

Occupy the state Guvernors residence rather than the presidency.

I do not understand why people are complaining.

Netflix or Dstv are not for everyone. Stay with terrestrial TV which comes free - like NTA etc - if you cannot afford them.

Not everyone has cable TV abroad.

The service provider has just announced the new cost of their services, if you cannot afford it, stay off it or rather provide such services at ridiculously cheaper prices for the public.

Cable TV is not a must for your consumption. It is not food. It is a luxury.

But having a degree like you rightly pointed out should not be an end in itself as you need to continue to develop yourself because the job market is really competitive.
So tell me which aspect of my post did you debunk with your hurried response?

I can tell you for a fact, unless you come to the UK with industry experience, at minimum, most times, your UK education can only give you “mentorship” opportunity.

For illustration, UK universities will teach you A, B, C while the job industry will ask you to write an essay.

Certificates are nothing in the UK. Your interview for job would always be based on a real life scenario.

Most people that graduate in the UK don’t get to work with their certificates as they don’t have industry experience. They end up majorly working as carers. Most of them outsource their assignments out. They don’t know nothing about what was taught.

So, if you lack industry experience, no job for you in the western world unlike in Nigeria where you only need to show your certificate and the job is confirmed.

Forget about graduation, focus on what comes after graduation. Most of the graduates know that they know nothing to earn jobs.
