Atiku talking about "fraud" ![]() I remember the book written about Atiku by Obasanjo ![]() |
Zooposki:Slavery and Christianity are two separate things |
Raf4:Thank you for this . I now understand clearly what is going on. Each person is fighting for his selfish ambition. |
adioolayi:I love your analysis but this current situation seems different. The other high chiefs, from your narration, did not become Olubadan because they passed on, and the crown moved as a result. In this case, the high chief who is meant to become olubadan is still alive but supposedly not fit medically. It is different. The question, does the olubadan charter envisages this situation. If no, court might make a determination in this regard. My guess so. |
Agunesinjaweola:You can't if your father is not from ibadan. How can you be a "Mogaji" when your father is not from Ibadan. |
From the article, this is the quote that will save Air Peace: "According to him, what would save Nigerian carriers was patriotism as well as government support" The questions are: 1. Are Nigerians patriotic enough? 2. Is Nigeria Government ready to give Air Peace all the support it needs? |
Difrent:This same Makinde criticized Ajimobi for intervening in Olubadan's arrangement. It was all in the news. The question you should be asking was why did Makinde support what he has criticized. Ladoja knew the recommendation done by olubadan in council was not in good faith. He knew they did it to legitimise something in illegal, and he chose not to wear the crown. The same crown other high chiefs accepted. Ladoja is not fighting to become the next Olubadan. He just wanted things to be done rightly. History will remember Ladoja kindly. |
Ladoja is the last of the old guard - very honest and principled. The other high chiefs obviously do not like that. They lost their own respect when they went ahead to wear crowns, including the late king. Ladoja stood with tradition and culture, defended the then Olubadan when other chiefs and the Governor (Ajimobi) ganged up against Olubadan. He spent his money in court to fight injustice. Ladoja is a man of policy and he hates people that are manipulative to achieve their selfish interests. He is very intelligent as well. He is a straight shooter and that's why other chiefs do no like him. He understands the power of law and he uses it as a tool to defend himself . Most people in ibadan are awaiting Ladoja's turn, when it eventually comes, as Olubadan. The whole of Ibadan will be engulfed in total happiness and celebration as they will reward him for his honesty. All these attempts to scheme out Olubadan when his turn comes will be met with stiff resistance by the people. The other high chiefs will have the ibadan people to deal with. For the other chiefs, history will not forget the way they acted . |

He was not almost the president. He was a distant third. Don't never forget that. |
oluwole1211:Hope you track how much Osun has sunk in debt as well. You need to track this thing that will negatively impact on the lives of the children unborn. |
veroupdatemedia:My own is that no Osun state indigenes should open any thread to complain about Adeleke. You saw how low quality he was before you voted him - you are stuck with him for the next few years. I am not a member of any political party but if this is the best Osun can produce as a Governor, then deal with it. |
pafun:This is how you will kill your country. That gain of 300 USD, the whites will still take it back from you in multiple folds. When they kill Air Peace on that route, they will jack up the ticket price to the extent that they will recoup all their losses. What does it take to be patriotic? Why do we find it hard in this country? We should be thinking of making the route less lucrative for these foreign airliners to the extent they will leave the route. You will see more Nigerian billionaires springing up with airlines to ply the route. Why do we have to support foreign airlines that will be depleting our foreign reserves at every point in time, and Nigerians are quick to demand 1USD to be equal to 200 Naira. How can this be with our unpatriotic attitude? |

This is the time Nigerians need to show patriotism irrespective of tribes. Air Peace needs us to stand by it irrespective of how cheap foreign airlines is. These foreign airlines have been ripping us off by locking cheap tickets. They suddenly turn father xmas pushing cheap tickets into our faces. Air Peace won't request dollars in exchange of naira from CBN for ticket sales. I am a Yoruba man and if you love Nigeria, Air Peace needs all of us. |
Super Falcon rode their luck today. Thanks to our keeper, SA would have beaten our girls. It was a nervy match , and they put the falcons under immense pressure but grateful we triumphed. |
drtwist:God bless you |
A certain church account might be involved. |
Nigeria has recovered 30bn naira ($24m; £19m) as part of an ongoing corruption probe into a suspended minister, the financial watchdog says. The funds were traced to more than 50 bank accounts, it said. Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Minister Betta Edu was initially suspended in January over the alleged diversion of $640,000 of public money into a personal bank account. President Bola Tinubu then ordered an investigation into her ministry. At the time Dr Edu, 37, denied any wrongdoing. Her office said she had approved the transfer into a personal account, which was not in her name, but said it was for the "implementation of grants to vulnerable groups". The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said during its nearly six weeks of investigating so far, it had found "many angles" to examine. "As it is now, we are investigating over 50 bank accounts that we have traced money into. That is no child's play. That's a big deal," its chairman Ola Olukoyede said in the latest edition of the agency's monthly e-magazine, EFCC Alert. He urged Nigerians seeking redress to give the agency time to finish its probe thoroughly. "We are exploring so many discoveries that we have stumbled upon in our investigation. If it is about seeing people in jail, well let them wait, everything has a process to follow," he said. The EFCC chairman gave an assurance that the recovered funds were "already in the coffers of the federal government". The suspension of a minister is a rare occurrence in Nigeria. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-68759033 |
caracas:People won't simply take you serious in this forum. You are ignorant (trust me, I was not being condescending). This subject matter is beyond you, sit it out. |
ovie8200:Don't be ignorant please What you put down up there shows you don't understand how it plays out. |
sslcrypt:Do you know why,? Let me break it down for you using layman explanation. US always borrows to finance her economy and fight wars. So they might say we need to raise 2 trillion dollars. Some rich countries will come together to give them money. China does that a lot. Then US will give them "IOU" in form of bond or Treasury security. US will keep paying heavy interest on this loan. When that countries want to claim it's principal, it will resell that debt to other countries. US debts are lucrative because US pays high interest and they have never defaulted. Anytime you hear that US wants to raise the debt ceiling, this is what they do. You will be wondering why China is buying US debts. It serves as additional income for them as US keeps paying large interest on it. US owes Japan the largest money, follows by China. On the other hands, China has what is called "Road and belt initiative". This is a strategy where they will invest in form of infrastructure in poor countries, and the countries will be paying back. In summary, it is only rich countries, who has excess, that can afford the US bonds and Treasury while it is only poor countries that are targeted by China for its initiative. |
God1000:US owes china staggering amount of money 859.4 billion dollars. US owes other countries as well. Total US debt is 34 Trillion Dollars. US is the largest debtor in the world Countries don't owe like individuals. If I owe you 100 naira for instance and you you are to.pay me 500 naira, you will end up paying me 400 naira because you would have deducted the 100 naira owes to you. Countries don't operate that way. https://www.investopedia.com/articles/investing/080615/china-owns-us-debt-how-much.asp#:~:text=China%20is%20one%20of%20the,as%20the%20concept%20of%20money |
Juliusganduje:Where were you during the times of Abiola babes, Leventis, Rangers, IICC - The rivalry was a thing of beauty. Man U, Chelsea etc play in their own LOCAL league too, and many of you who gains nothing from it, always follow it passionately. Grow your local league too - that is where you can have some direct benefits. |
shortgun:You don't have inner working in this particular instance. You based your write-up on your past experiences. Cut this govt some slacks and be cheerfully optimistic. I was not disputing your experience but not relevant in this particular scenario. |
shortgun:Nice. Don't you think that undermining every decision made by FG, without having inner working knowledge, is quite unfair ? |
shortgun:As a Nigerian, what do you actually want ? |

Did you hear from the wife before passing judgement? Stop demonising women - we have them as mothers, sisters and daughters |
You wont see Falana taking such states to court demanding such should payment should be stopped. Why do govt - both states and fg - keep using our hard earned savings to send people to pilgrimage. Is Nigeria no more a secular state? |
