King Abdullah II Has Stated That Jordan Will Not Become A "Theater Of War" Between Israel And Iran. Jordanian King Abdullah II emphasized the nation's commitment to upholding its security and sovereignty, stating that it must not become a regional war after intercepting missiles and drones during Iran's attack on Israel. Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi urged the international community to prevent Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from escalating his confrontation with Iran, stating that Iran has responded to the attack and does not want to escalate further. Iran's recent attack on Israel caused minor damage and wounded a 7-year-old girl, with most missiles and drones down with assistance from Israel's Iron Dome defense system, the US, Britain, France, and Jordan. Foreign Affairs / Heavy Rains In UAE And Surrounded Country Have Led To 18 Person Death by mubalak37(m): 6:52pm On Apr 16 |
Heavy rains in the United Arab Emirates have caused major highway flooding and left vehicles abandoned in Dubai. In neighboring Oman, 18 people have died in separate flooding, with others still missing. The storm disrupted flights at Dubai International Airport and caused flashing lightning. The UAE, a federation of seven sheikhdoms, shut schools and government employees due to a storm. Many workers stayed home, while some ventured out due to deeper-than-expected water. Authorities used tanker trucks to pump water away, with initial estimates suggesting over 30 millimeters of rain in Dubai. Heavy rains have caused widespread flooding in Bahrain, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, with at least 18 people killed in neighboring Oman, including 10 schoolchildren, prompting regional leaders to offer condolences. Education / MURIC Warns That Exams Conducted During Eid-el-fitr Holiday Are Illegal by mubalak37(m): 2:44pm On Apr 14 |
Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has deemed the examinations held at two Enugu universities on April 9 and 10, 2024, as illegal, null, and void. Professor Ishaq Akintola, the group's Executive Director, criticized the Nigerian Government's public holidays for taking exams, calling for their cancellation. The University of Nigeria Enugu Campus and Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu, have been accused of disregarding the Federal Government's holidays, conducting exams on Salah day, and holding tests on that day, causing outrage and calls for the minister of education to address the issue. A Muslim-dominated North university conducted an examination or test during a Christmas or Easter holiday, causing alarm among authorities in the South-East. The university has declared the examinations and tests as illegal, illegitimate, unlawful, and unconstitutional. The organization has called on the vice-chancellors of the two schools to ensure no student, regardless of religion, is sanctioned for missing the exams or tests. The law states that no examination or test held on a public holiday can be recognized by any school, polytechnic, or university. The law does not recognize invigilators and candidates on public holidays. MURIC advises the two vice-chancellors, deans of erring faculties, and heads of departments to instruct lecturers to cancel the abnormal examinations and tests. They hope no one will attempt to massages, as damage-control measures may be too late. Source: https://attaqwaa.com/index.php/topic,324.msg331/topicseen.html#msg331

Foreign Affairs / Iran Declared A 'concluded' Retaliation Against Israel And Has Summoned Western by mubalak37(m): 1:57pm On Apr 14 |
Iran Declared A 'Concluded' Retaliation Against Israel And Has Summoned Western Envoys. Iran has urged Israel not to retaliate militarily following an unprecedented attack on its Damascus consulate. Iran's mission to the UN stated that the matter is concluded, but warned that if the Israeli regime makes another mistake, Iran's response could be more severe. Iran has launched drones and missiles at Israeli military sites, launching them in response to the Zionist regime's aggression against diplomatic premises in Damascus. The Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian stated that the attacks were "limited" and for self-defense. Israel claimed it had shot 99 percent of the missiles and drones with the help of the US and other allies, declaring the attack "foiled.". Iran's retaliation against Israel has achieved all its objectives, targeting an intelligence center and an air base from which Israeli F-35 jets took off to strike the Damascus consulate. The attack resulted in significant destruction and put out of order, though Israel maintains it only caused minor damage. Experts suggest the drone attack was calibrated to represent a show of power and allow some wiggle room, as Iran can escalate using various vectors, including sea attacks and soft Israeli targets globally. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has warned Israel of severe consequences for its actions following a strike. Israel has been Iran's sworn enemy since 1979, and Iran has supported the Palestinian cause. However, it has refrained from direct attacks on Israel and backed members of the "Axis of Resistance" against Israel. Iran also warned the US to stay away from its conflict with Israel. Crime / Overnight Strikes Resulted To Scores Of Deaths In Gaza by mubalak37(m): 10:38am On Feb 04 |
Overnight strikes in Gaza Strip killed at least 92 people, including a kindergarten in Rafah. Hamas-run health ministry reported 92 deaths, including an Israeli bombardment. Concerns over a potential Israeli ground incursion into Rafah have mounted, with hundreds of thousands seeking refuge in makeshift shelters. Strikes continue in Rafah, with mourners gathering outside a local hospital. Rafah, once home to 200,000 people, now hosts over half of Gaza's population. The city has been described as a "pressure cooker of despair" by UN humanitarian agency OCHA. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant warns that the military will also reach Rafah. Displaced Gazans are pushing against the border with Egypt, urging for a ceasefire to return to their homes. International mediators are making a full-court press to seal a proposed truce deal thrashed out last week in Paris. But a top Hamas official in Lebanon, Osama Hamdan, said on Saturday that the proposed framework was missing some details. Hamas needed more time to "announce our position," Hamdan said, "based on... our desire to put an end as quickly as possible to the aggression that our people suffer." The war in Gaza was sparked by Hamas's unprecedented October 7 attack on Israel, which resulted in the deaths of about 1,160 people, mostly civilians, according to an AFP tally based on official figures. Militants also seized around 250 hostages, and Israel says 132 remain in Gaza, including at least 27 believed to have been killed. Vowing to eliminate Hamas, Israel launched a massive military offensive that has killed at least 27,238 people in Gaza, mostly women and children, according to the Hamas-ruled territory's health ministry. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will make his fifth crisis visit to the Middle East in the coming days to push for the truce proposal, the State Department has said, and French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne is also making a pass through the region, according to a spokesman. A Hamas source has said the proposal involves an initial six-week pause that would see more aid delivered into Gaza and exchanges of some Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners held in Israel. Hamas's Qatar-based leader Ismail Haniyeh has said any ceasefire must lead to "a full withdrawal" of Israeli troops from Gaza. The Israeli government's inability to secure the hostages' release, as well as the intelligence failures that allowed the October 7 attacks to happen in the first place, have led to harsh criticism of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government. Hundreds rallied on Saturday night in Tel Aviv at protests calling for early elections and to demand action to free the remaining hostages. Demonstrations were also held in the northern Israeli port of Haifa and near Netanyahu's Jerusalem residence. In Tel Aviv, anti-government protester Michal Hadas told AFP that dragging out the conflict only served the interests of government officials, "because as long as the war continues there will be no election." At the rally for hostages' families, Carmit Palty Katzir, sister of captive Elad Katzir, called for swifter action. "Every second a deal is not closed, the price goes up. The number of hostages who won't return alive goes up. The number of soldiers risking their lives without a clear plan for the day after goes up. Religion / NAHCON Has Announced The Final Fare For 2024 Hajj by mubalak37(m): 2:12pm On Feb 03 |
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced the final fare for the 2024 Hajj exercise, with Southern, Northern, and North-Eastern pilgrims paying N4,899,000, N4,699,000, and N4,679,000 respectively. The final fare is due by February 12, 2024, to facilitate the transfer of funds. Remember that until Tuesday, when Naira fell to a record low against the US dollar on the official market due to FMDQ Exchange data slipping below rates on the unofficial parallel market in intra-day trades, the chairman of NAHCON, Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, had maintained that the 2024 Hajj fare will not exceed N4.5 million that was charged as initial deposit. The chairman of NAHCON stated that despite efforts to maintain the stated rate, the volatility of the dollar exchange rate necessitated a required revision. In an effort to lower expenses for aspiring pilgrims, Arabi reportedly actively negotiated significant reductions with service providers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in January. However, the week's unstable currency situation forced the Commission to take. Source: https://attaqwaa.com/index.php/topic,118.msg124.html#msg124 |
Foreign Affairs / Israel Promises To Battle Hamas To Gaza's Southern Line, Energizes Strain With E by mubalak37(m): 12:51am On Jan 26 |
Israel faces a developing gamble of harming its tranquility with adjoining Egypt as its tactical drives the hostile against Hamas further south in the Gaza Strip. As of now, the different sides are in a disagreement regarding a tight portion of land among Egypt and Gaza. Israeli pioneers express that to finish their obliteration of Hamas, they should ultimately broaden their hostile to Gaza's southernmost town, Rafah, and assume command over the Philadelphi Hallway, a small cushion zone on the boundary with Egypt that is neutralized under the two nations' 1979 international agreement. In a news gathering last week, Israeli Top state leader Benjamin Netanyahu said Hamas keeps on sneaking weapons under the boundary - a case Egypt passionately denies — and that the conflict can't end "until we close this break," alluding to the passageway. That brought a sharp admonition from Egypt that conveying Israeli soldiers in the zone, referred to in Egypt as the Salaheddin Passage, will disregard the harmony bargain. "Any Israeli move toward this path will prompt a serious danger to Egyptian-Israeli relations," Diaa Rashwan, top of Egypt's State Data Administration, said Monday. Travel / British Board Expands IELTS Expenses Again By 29% For Nigerians by mubalak37(m): 10:22pm On Jan 21 |
The British Council in Nigeria has again increased the fee for the English Language Testing System examinations by 29%. According to the Council, Nigerians will now pay the sum of N139,000 for the Computer Academic and General Training Modules from February 1, 2024. The price was jerked up from the N107,500 currently being paid for the exam that many Nigerians require to travel abroad. This advancement comes five months after the Committee carried out another augmentation. The charge for the IELTS, which used to be between N80,000 to N90,000 was expanded to N107,500 in September last year. Declaring the addition through an explanation on its site, the Committee said the augmentation was because of the ascent in the expenses of conveying the tests in Nigeria. The declaration peruses: "We might want to illuminate you that there has been a survey of our IELTS charges. The new value rundown of the IELTS scope of tests presented by the English Committee will be powerful for enlistments on or after 1 February 2024. "The new costs will be: IELTS on PC Scholastic and General Preparation Modules: ₦139,000. "IELTS on Paper Scholastic and General Preparation Modules: ₦134,000; UK Visas and Movement (UKVI): ₦149,000; Fundamental abilities: ₦130,000; One Expertise Retake (O.S.R): ₦87,570. "The adjustment of cost is related with the inflated costs in the conveyance of our tests. This will empower us to keep on offering many administrations and exhaustive help to empower you to accomplish your objectives. Much obliged to you for picking the English Chamber." IELTS is broadly embraced worldwide by non-local English speakers and fills in as proof of their language capability. It is a cooperative exertion between the English Gathering, Cambridge English Language Evaluation, and IDP Training Australia for those looking for instructive open doors, work, or visa endorsements in the UK, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand. Directly following the progressing 'japa' pattern in the country, numerous Nigerians are constrained to compose this test if they have any desire to get a visa to any of the nations that have made it an obligatory prerequisite. The most recent addition adds an additional expense for the expenses of 'japa' that have gone up cosmically as of late with the cheapening of the Nigerian cash. Celebrities / Did You Know That Jesus Have Never Celebrate Cristmas by mubalak37(m): 7:37pm On Dec 25, 2014 |
DID YOU KNOW THAT JUSUS HAVE NEVER CELEBRATE CRISTMAS? I. When was Jesus born? A. Popular myth puts his birth on December 25th in the year 1 C.E. B. The New Testament gives no date or year for Jesus’ birth. The earliest gospel – St. Mark’s, written about 65 CE – begins with the baptism of an adult Jesus. This suggests that the earliest Christians lacked interest in or knowledge of Jesus’ birthdate. C. The year of Jesus birth was determined by Dionysius Exiguus, a Scythian monk, “abbot of a Roman monastery. His calculation went as follows: a. In the Roman, pre-Christian era, years were counted from ab ur be condita (“the founding of the City” [Rome]). Thus 1 AUC signifies the year Rome was founded, 5 AUC signifies the 5th year of Rome’s reign, etc. b. Dionysius received a tradition that the Roman emperor Augustus reigned 43 years, and was followed by the emperor Tiberius. c. Luke 3:1,23 indicates that when Jesus turned 30 years old, it was the 15th year of Tiberius reign. d. If Jesus was 30 years old in Tiberius’ reign, then he lived 15 years under Augustus (placing Jesus birth in Augustus’ 28th year of reign). e. Augustus took power in 727 AUC. Therefore, Dionysius put Jesus birth in 754 AUC. f. However, Luke 1:5 places Jesus’ birth in the days of Herod, and Herod died in 750 AUC – four years before the year in which Dionysius places Jesus birth. D. Joseph A. Fitzmyer – Professor Emeritus of Biblical Studies at the Catholic University of America, member of the Pontifical Biblical Commission, and former president of the Catholic Biblical Association – writing in the Catholic Church’s official commentary on the New Testament [1], writes about the date of Jesus’ birth, “Though the year [of Jesus birth is not reckoned with certainty, the birth did not occur in AD 1. The Christian era, supposed to have its starting point in the year of Jesus birth, is based on a miscalculation introduced ca. 533 by Dionysius Exiguus.” E. The De Pascha Computus, an anonymous document believed to have been written in North Africa around 243 CE, placed Jesus birth on March 28. Clement, a bishop of Alexandria (d. ca. 215 CE), thought Jesus was born on November 18. Based on historical records, Fitzmyer guesses that Jesus birth occurred on September 11, 3 BCE. II. How Did Christmas Come to Be Celebrated on December 25? A. Roman pagans first introduced the holiday of Saturnalia, a week long period of lawlessness celebrated between December 17-25. During this period, Roman courts were closed, and Roman law dictated that no one could be punished for damaging property or injuring people during the week long celebration. The festival began when Roman authorities chose “an enemy of the Roman people” to represent the “Lord of Misrule.” Each Roman community selected a victim whom they forced to indulge in food and other physical pleasures through out the week. At the festival’s conclusion, December 25th, Roman authorities believed they were destroying the forces of darkness by brutally murdering this innocent man or woman. B. The ancient Greek writer post and historian Lucian (in his dialogue entitled Saturnalia) describes the festival’s observance in his time. In addition to human sacrifice, he mentions these customs: wide spread intoxication; going from house to house while singing naked; rape and other sexual license; and consuming human-shaped biscuits (still produced in some English and most German bakeries during the Christmas season). C. In the 4th century CE, Christianity imported the Saturnalia festival hoping to take the pagan masses in with it. Christian leaders succeeded in converting to Christianity large numbers of pagans by promising them that they could continue to celebrate the Saturnalia as Christians. [2] D. The problem was that there was nothing in trinsically Christian about Saturnalia. To remedy this, these Christian leaders named Saturnalia’s concluding day, December 25th, to be Jesus’ birthday. E. Christians had little success, however, refining the practices of Saturnalia. As Stephen Nissenbaum, professor history at the University of Massachussetts, Amherst, writes, “In return for ensuring massive observance of the anniversary of the Savior’s birth by assigning it to this resonant date, the Church for its part tacitly agreed to allow the holiday to be celebrated more or less the way it had always been.” The earliest Christmas holidays were celebrated by drinking, sexual indulgence, singing naked in the streets (a precursor of modern caroling), etc. F. The Reverend Increase Mather of Boston observed in 1687 that “the early Christians who first observed the Nativity on December 25 did not do so thinking that Christ was born in that Month, but because the Heathens’ Saturnalia was at that time kept in Rome, and they were willing to have those Pagan Holidays metamorphosed into Christian ones.”[3] Because of its known pagan origin, Christmas was banned by the Puritans and its observance was illegal in Massachusetts between 1659 and 1681. [4] However, Christmas was and still is celebrated by most Christians. G. Some of the most depraved customs of the Saturnalia carnival were intentionally revived by the Catholic Church in 1466 when Pope Paul II, for the amusement of his Roman citizens, forced Jews to race naked through the streets of the city. An eye witness account reports, “Before they were to run, the Jews were richly fed, so as to make the race more difficult for them and at the same time more amusing for spectators. They ran… amid Rome’s taunting shrieks and peals of laughter, while the Holy Father stood up on a richly or namented balcony and laughed heartily.”[5] H. As part of the Saturnalia carnival through out the 18th and 19th centuries CE, rabbis of the ghetto in Rome were forced to wear clownish out fits and march through the city streets to the jeers of the crowd, pelted by a variety of missiles. When the Jewish community of Rome sent a petition in 1836 to Pope Gregory XVI begging him to stop the annual Saturnalia abuse of the Jewish community, he responded, “It is not opportune to make any innovation.”[6] On December 25, 1881, Christian leaders whipped the Polish masses into Antisemitic frenzies that led to riots across the country. In Warsaw 12 Jews were brutally murdered, huge numbers maimed, and many Jewish women were raped. Two million rubles worth of property was destroyed. III. The Origins of Christmas Customs A. The Origin of Christmas Tree Just as early Christians recruited Roman pagans by associating Christmas with the Saturnalia, so too worshippers of the Asheira cult and its off shoots were recruited by the Church sanctioning “Christmas Trees”.[7] Pagans had long worshipped trees in the forest, or brought them into their homes and decorated them, and this observance was adopted and painted with a Christian veneer by the Church. B. The Origin of Mistletoe Norse mythology recounts how the god Balder was killed using a mistletoe arrow by his rival god Hoder while fighting for the female Nanna. Druid rituals use mistletoe to poison their human sacrificial victim. [8] The Christian custom of “kissing under the mistletoe” is a later synthesis of the sexual license of Saturnalia with the Druidic sacrificial cult. [9] C. The Origin of Christmas Presents In pre-Christian Rome, the emperors compelled their most despised citizens to bring offerings and gifts during the Saturnalia (in December) and Kalends (in January). Later, this ritual expanded to include gift-giving among the general populace. The Catholic Church gave this custom a Christian flavor by re-rooting it in the supposed gift-giving of Saint Nicholas (see below). [10] D. The Origin of Santa Claus a. Nicholas was born in Parara, Turkey in 270 CE and later became Bishop of Myra. He died in 345 CE on December 6th. He was only named a saint in the 19th century. b. Nicholas was among the most senior bishops who convened the Council of Nicaea in 325 CE and created the New Testament. The text they produced portrayed Jews as “the children of the devil”[11] who sentenced Jesus to death. c. In 1087, a group of sailors who idolized Nicholas moved his bones from Turkey to a sanctuary in Bari, Italy. There Nicholas supplanted a female boon-giving deity called The Grandmother, or Pasqua Epiphania, who used to fill the children's stockings with her gifts. The Grandmother was ousted from her shrine at Bari, which became the center of the Nicholas cult. Members of this group gave each other gifts during a pageant they conducted annually on the anniversary of Nicholas’ death, December 6. d. The Nicholas cult spread north until it was adopted by German and Celtic pagans. These groups worshipped a pantheon led by Woden – their chief god and the father of Thor, Balder, and Tiw. Wod en had a long, white beard and rode a horse through the heavens one evening each Autumn. When Nicholas merged with Woden, he shed his Mediterranean appearance, grew a beard, mounted a flying horse, rescheduled his flight for December, and donned heavy winter clothing. e. In a bid for pagan adherents in Northern Europe, the Catholic Church adopted the Nicholas cult and taught that he did (and they should) distribute gifts on December 25th instead of December 6th. f. In 1809, the novelist Washington Irving (most famous his The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and Rip Van Winkle) wrote a satire of Dutch culture entitled Knicker bocker History. The satire refers several times to the white bearded, flying-horse riding Saint Nicholas using his Dutch name, Santa Claus. g. Dr. Clement Moore, a professor at Union Seminary, read Knicker bocker History, and in 1822 he published a poem based on the character Santa Claus: “T was the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in the hope that Saint Nicholas soon would be there…” Moore innovated by portraying a Santa with eight rein deer who descended through chimneys. h. The Bavarian illustrator Thomas Nast almost completed the modern picture of Santa Claus. From 1862 through 1886, based on Moore’s poem, Nast drew more than 2,200 cartoon images of Santa for Harper’s Weekly. Before Nast, Saint Nicholas had been pictured as everything from a stern looking bishop to a gnome-like figure in a frock. Nast also gave Santa a home at the North Pole, his work shop filled with elves, and his list of the good and bad children of the world. All Santa was missing was his red outfit. i. In 1931, the Coca Cola Corporation contracted the Swedish commercial artist Haddon Sundblom to create a coke-drinking Santa. Sundblom modeled his Santa on his friend Lou Prentice, chosen for his cheerful, chubby face. The corporation insisted that Santa’s fur-trimmed suit be bright, Coca Cola red. And Santa was born – a blend of Christian crusader, pagan god, and commercial idol. IV. The Christmas Challenge ·Christmas has always been a holiday celebrated carelessly. For millennia, pagans, Christians, and even Jews have been swept away in the season’s festivities, and very few people ever pause to consider the celebration’s intrinsic meaning, history, or origins. Christmas celebrates the birth of the Christian god who came to rescue mankind from the “curse of the Torah.” It is a 24-hour declaration that Judaism is no longer valid. Christmas is a lie. There is no Christian church with a tradition that Jesus was really born on December 25th. December 25 is a day on which Jews have been shamed, tortured, and murdered. · Many of the most popular Christmas customs – including Christmas trees, mistletoe, Christmas presents, and Santa Claus – are modern incarnations of the most depraved pagan rituals ever practiced on earth. Many who are excitedly preparing for their Christmas celebrations would prefer not knowing about the holiday’s real significance. If they do know the history, they often object that their celebration has nothing to do with the holiday’s monstrous history and meaning. “We are just having fun.” Imagine that between 1933-45, the Nazi regime celebrated Adolf Hitler’s birthday – April 20 – as a holiday. Imagine that they named the day, “Hitlerday,” and observed the day with feasting, drunkenness, gift-giving, and various pagan practices. Imagine that on that day, Jews were historically subject to perverse tortures and abuse, and that this continued for centuries. Now, imagine that your great-great-great- grand children were about to celebrate Hitlerday. April 20th arrived. They had long forgotten about Auschwitz and Bergen Belsen. They had never heard of gas chambers or death marches. They had purchased champagne and caviar, and were about to begin the party, when someone reminded them of the day’s real history and their ancestors’ agony. Imagine that they initially objected, “We are n’t celebrating the Holocaust; we’re just having a little Hitlerday party.” If you could travel forward in time and meet them; if you could say a few words to them, what would you advise them to do on Hitlerday?
