SegFault: Why I like Muslim's. If it is igbo people they will be trying to make the man's family go bankrupt because of useless rites. It's very easy here, no cost at all. Just white material of #200 per yard, enough to cover your whole body and it has to be bought by someone who has never benefitted from your wealth so it wouldn't even be like you are returning a favor. |

Fish4wealth: First, is this your first time of trying your hands on hatching? If yes( which i presume so), i must state that, newbies who fail to do the needful may suffer from such ignorance thereby giving room for some failed and inexperience acclaimed fish farmers to talk down on the industry.
Few things you did wrong.... 1. Not securing the escape of fish... 2. Your security naivety in keeping two fishes together in a confined container.... 3. Female broodstock are more aggressive than their male counterpart not even after inoculation.... 4. You were not timing of the latent period of the female hence the entire release of her eggs...
Let's see farming as a professional business and not mere hobby....
Get the right training and information.
I hope by now, the second female and male should have been used.
Share your current experience. Lo.. Thanks for your response. But you can do better in a polite way. It's just an experience shared. BTW this is not my first time of hatching. Like I stated everything went as usual with the others, just the one (male) that had went out. Anyways all is well and both the male and female are fine. I won't take it that it was the latent time. Why didn't the other two release their eggs since they were induced at the same time? I understand that it was the storm that must ve knocked down the container, not that it was not properly secured. Anyways thank you. |

Good morning everyone. I want to share an experience I had yesterday perhaps I will get a good explanation. Yesterday I injected 2 female broodstock and kept each in a separate container. I had my males ready also and I kept them in an identical container with that of the females. Somehow in the night, It was raining and a male jumped off it's container but luckily my security man saw it and carelessly placed it back in a container housing a female. Now this morning I rushed to the farm to do the needful only to find out that there was no single egg left in the female, the eggs were spilled all over the container and the male was so weak and his body was ashy in color. Please anyone knows What could ve happened? |

Weedsmoker: Their is nothing you can say to me that will change my perception about this biz,I have seen it all,it's a time wasting, finance draining and destiny killing business.Let he who has ears hear me.....say no to cat fish business if you value your peace of mind.
No matter the training you undertake, their are bound to be losses,if it's not from cannabalism,it will be unexpected deaths, increase in prices of feeds, fish buyers giving you unreasonable prices after suffering to farm your fishes, the power supply situation in the country makes matters even worse.I could remember the first hatching we did the whole fishes died not even one survived. The fastest way to suicide is to take a bank loan or lapo to run this biz,my brother just go and dig your grave.
I have seen it all, nobody should preach to me, Even God knows all am saying is nothing but the truth.Stay away from catfish biz if you value your life.
A word is enough for the wise. Okay we ve heard you. Just because it didn't work for you/your brother doesn't mean it won't/doesn't work for others. We get it, Agriculture is very risky only the brave can survive. |
