FamilyResponsibilities In The Home Between Husband(man) And The Wife(woman) by mukhcech(op): 8:06pm On Apr 30, 2015
I remember in my early primary school days, I was
thought by my teacher that the father is the Head of
the family or home. In reiterating his headship we
were meant to understand that his sole responsiblity
is to provide for the Home I.e The man first
responsibility is in working to provide for his
immediate family. Social studies was the subject. I
don't know if this subject is still in the Nigerian
curriculum or if that topic is still in the syllabus but in
Nigeria over the last one to two decades there has
been a lot of clamour for gender equality, equal job
opportunities for men and women. And I am
perplexed and forced to ask this question? Is
providing for the Home still the sole responsibility of
the man? Ur sincere contribution I seek. Thank you.
RomanceRe: Why Nigerian Girls Should NOT Be Obsessed With Men's Height? by mukhcech(m): 3:32pm On Sep 20, 2014
Onyiridike: I am a Nigerian lady with a lot of experience about life especially when it comes to relationship and marriage. Experience is NOT just passing through a situation but what you did with the situation.

Obviously, our young ladies always list ridiculous criteria that a man they will date/marry MUST possess. Among those ridiculous criteria, height is always a priority. Gone are the days when character is placed above physical appearance.

When I was an undergraduate, a certain young man approached me and told me how he loved me and wanted to date me. He is an enterprising young man, very intelligent and handsome. However, he is not very tall; just 5ft. 7 inches in height. Of course, young ladies don't take decisions independently. This is why they are easily influenced by friends and relatives. My friends then said: "Never! My man MUST be 6ft and above, so tell him capital NO". I rejected the young man.

Today, he is happily married with a lady who is by far more beautiful and talented than me. I almost shed tears on their wedding day. Meanwhile, all the so-called very tall men that I dated are ONLY interested in my vagina.
So far I have learnt the following:

1. Most tall men believe that their height is a 'master' key to every ladies heart and therefore, their ONLY achievement is ' I am a tall dude and ladies are dieing for me'.

2. Most tall guys are NOT caring because they have this notion that a lady should count herself lucky to date them.

3. I am yet to understand that unique or remarkable thing about tall men.

Fortunately, I repented because it occured to me that all those times, I was ONLY playing my friend's script. I wanted to feel among and brag that my boyfriend is equally tall. I gave a guy who is not very tall a chance and I started enjoying my paradise on earth. We are married now. All my life, I have not come across such a wonderful person. He has it all:

1. He is God-fearing and generous.

2. He is handsome and a great orator

3. He is educated and intelligent

4. He cooks for me when I am tired (caring)

5. He satisfies me sexually ( oh! What a heavenly feeling)

6. He got a good dress sense

7. He is social

8. Among others

I am not in any way trying to say that tall guys are bad. As a lady, I am only advising other Nigerian ladies to see a man beyond height. The height issue is over-hyped and even unnecessary. You may NOT get a second chance like me.

Finally, based on my experience, I have come up with a quote:

"A man is NOT known by his height but by his heart (bravery) and meritorous achievements".

BOAR: Its infact your inability to see the similarities in the activities of Shekau and Ojukwu thst is leading you to form your opinion of me.

Did Ojukwu went to war with Nigeria or not?

Is Shekau not waging war with Nigeria or not?

Did Ojukwu desire a separate country or not?

Is Shekau not aspiring to declare and Islamic nation or not?

If you can step out of your bigotry, you will see the glaring similarities.

I'm done with you too.

Kachisbarbie: @rhymz: it is so annoying, his first statement was i should go and get married, i disappointed him by saying i am married, then he wants to know if I'm happy in it. I wonder what joy it gives to them when they hear about failed marriages....i really do wonder.
Then you will hear shiii like,i rather remain single than be in a loveless marriage, are all marriages lovelesshuh

why don't they ever look at the bright side, that's what i am yet to understand...
I am with you on this. If only the positives are our set goals and objectives. There wont be need to stress the topic of Marriage.
RomanceRe: On Why The “Beautiful” Ones Are Still Single… by mukhcech(m): 6:58am On Sep 11, 2014
rhymz: While it is understandable that marriage should not be emphasized to a woman to the point stigmatisation, it will be folly for any woman to downplay its importance in the scheme of her being happy and fulfilled, Yes. This is true even for man. Seriously, I am yet to see a single person that likes being all by themselves, even the celibate priests in their solitude crave for companionship.

In my own experience as a young man that has interacted with many ladies both educated and non-educated, it goes beyond beauty and accompanying character flaws. There is the issue of doing things with cultured moderation. That is where many times it seem like the really pretty ladies and very educated ladies seem to get it wrong and many men see it as arrogance and character flaws they can not Kiev with.

I have noticed that it is easier for emotionally expressive, sincere and humble women to get married than the ones that are very educated, logically expressive and very proud women to get any man to take them seriously. To many men they are a piece of work they are not ready to do seriously. It is easier for an unexposed woman with just a little above school cert to get married than for a PhD wielding female professor to get married, this is true for women not just here in Africa but everywhere.

The fact is this, a woman that knows too much of what she wants always end up being the beautiful well exposed single and lonely woman. No man wants a woman that will continue to be a challenge to him even in marriage.

So the key here is moderation.

MizMyColi: @Ihedinobi2, as it pertains marriage, @ different pahses, we almost always feel we know what we need to, when in reality, we really don't.
I blv this point should not be taken in context with your Original argument which I understood in all sincererity and purpose.
RomanceRe: On Why The “Beautiful” Ones Are Still Single… by mukhcech(m): 6:02pm On Sep 10, 2014
Kachisbarbie: Then that one would be your business dear, the topic isn't about being married and happy, is it? This is topic for another day.
If all you guys envisage are loveless marriages, sorry to disappoint you, mine isn't one of them. Thank you
You are utmost welcome. Happy for your marriage. All the very best till the end.
RomanceRe: On Why The “Beautiful” Ones Are Still Single… by mukhcech(m): 5:16pm On Sep 10, 2014
Kachisbarbie: Lol, I am married, with kids sef. I am just stating the obvious, that no one should take the hustle too serious.

I am married @hotwax
Being married and with Kids doesnt mean you are happy. Does it?

There are many loveless marriages nowadays even in ones where love was once its bedrock. The reason for this? The true essence of Marriage is lost.
