tctrills: Let me first state that I have no issue with any group seeking self-rule and independence. My heart goes out to the Tibetians and Uyghur people of China. But then, let's look at the case of Biafra. 50 years after the failed war, the Igbos still clamor for secession. I am not writing to judge their merits as I believe the Igbos are among the most marginalized people in Nigeria, but I want to look at their strategy and their chances. 1st Let's look at their strategy. It's easy to say that the leading secession group IPOB has no effective strategy. Yes they make noise through their radio and social media, yes they partake in small pockets of violence within the region, and yes they have millions of supporters yet they have never been a major headache for the rest of the country. No one goes to bed thinking about Ipob except maybe in the southeast. Their influence is not felt outside their region hence no one really cares. Also, They have failed to build any ally across the country or abroad. They are very much on their own. Their strategy of insults is doing no good to their struggle. Now let's look at geography. The Igbos are actually trapped within Nigeria. They would clearly need the support of the Niger Delta to create Biafra. Biafra would be impossible without the south south. Finally, they would need a stronger force than the ESN boys in the bush. That is basically impossible as they would need to arm a force. that would mean moving smuggling heavy equipment through the Nigerian border. Summary, Biafra is not going to happen because of wrong strategy and poor geography.
Contango: I’ve heard so many stories/stereotypes about male doctors being promiscuous but not so much about their female counterpart. Are female doctors faithful in relationships or are they equally as promiscuous as the male doctors and nurses?
A friend of mine has this beautiful and curvy female resident doctor down south who just turned 26years old who is so into him. She has even used style to introduce him to some of her siblings but the guy is a bit skeptical about making a commitment due to the numerous stories he’s heard on infidelity among doctors.
Pls note that this is a true story at hand and your views would be highly appreciated. Will show him this thread later.
They remind me of a story my father told me. He said that in some parts of Igbo land, people are hired to cry on burials. It's a belief then, that when you cry so much over the death of someone, the dead person is regarded as important or a good person. So people will be hired to cry and cry and cry. After their services, they would be paid. It was a job back then
Ajmoziz: So yesterday was reading about the activities of the Taliban in Afghanistan and that sent me down a metaphorical rabbit hole through most of the conflicts going through the world right now. I will not bore you with the details but then I started to see pick up certain similarities. For a long while,I always wondered what the sit at home orders are for.like it is weakening the economy of a region already weakened, combined with the ruthless and merciless killings of several individuals especially indigenes who " have made it" and I heard kidnapping is joining the menu now. So what could be the reasons for hurting people you say you want to save from the tyranny of those up north. And I think I have gotten something of an answer and I am praying I am wrong.its a radicalisation strategy, that's all it is Presently the average Igbo man doesn't actually believe in Biafran, most people think that there really is no point, some even bring up the case of South Sudan that has been in civil war since their establishment. as long as things are okay for him,he doesn't mind, marginalization does not matter to him,he has a good life,he can eat,he can work,he feels safe,he is okay with his quiet life and if he sees an opportunity for him or any of his children to leave the country for greener pastures,he will take it. So Nigeria or Biafra ,whatever they are doing,na for their pocket.average man thoughts . But now these things are being threatened, his small business 8s dying out due to sit at home, his children's education are suffering, his hopes of japa growing slim by the day,he doesn't feel safe at all.and worst the apathetic nature of those in power to do anything, yes he knows, deep inside him, they have never cared but now it's glaring no body cares at all. Then theres the hate . anytime any news that dare mention about east or Igbo, people start coming out of the woodwork to insult,to point fingers,to just plainly display their hatred. So here's the man,no hope of leaving,no hope of survival, suffering hatred for just existing.and someone comes along and tells him,in Biafra none of these things could have happened to him,and the only way to ensure his children do not suffer it is to fight for it and hands him a gun.with the education standard dropping, brain washing will be a whole lot easier and getting people to die for a cause will not be hard anymore.my two cents anyway
This one is decieving himself. Which Igbo man are you talking about? The one in your dreams?
Igo9: I wanted to believe the Ebonyians are Igbos.
The language of ebonyians is different from the Igbo language.. When ebonyi man speaks, Abia, Imo, Enugu, Anambra man will not understand and same way ebonyi man will not understand the language of the later, vice versa. But the only understandable language uses by both tribe is the centre Igbo language which they (ebonyians) learnt..
We also have seen lots of occasions where Igbos called ebonyians osu...
We have also seen in many occasions where ebonyians said they are not Igbos...
Are the Ebonyians truely Igbos?
No. They are Italians. But I heard some of them came from a certain part of Greece. Rubbish.
[b]If you take a trip to Imo state and return safe and sound then you must thank youy God for his mercy because persenggers are been abducted on the roads, cars set ablaze, murder.
So if you survive passing through Imo then you need give glory to God.
See this one. Which IMO state are you referring to? The one in your head of course. Go to the bus stations and see the numbers of people going to IMO state. Keep decieving yourselves.
Arkmanbuddy: I don't know if you created a new South East in your head. If development is taking place in SE as you say, why are your people leaving their homes there and trooping into Lagos and other SW States?
Keep deceiving yourself o!
This is the problem. Where on earth did you get this notion that people are trooping into your states? Any data to back it up? Yes some igbos are in those states, but you fail to realize that your people are also in our states. Are they trooping too?
I think we Igbos should start differentiating between the two. Nairaland south east is far different from the original South East
Modified: I forgot to tell you, that some of these buffalo's made it a point of duty to post the death of every dead person and accuse Ipob of it. Some of them have worse scenerios in the home. We all know the people that are popular for harvesting skulls. Many terrible things happen in other parts of Nigeria but their only interest is the one that happens in the south east Like I told you, they dream south east everyday
For the jjc on this forum, let me enlighten you a bit. Now on this streets, there are two types of south east.
The Nairaland South East and The original South East.
I could have called it the imaginary south east but Nairaland seems to approve of it. The Nairaland south east is an imaginary south east that is formed by enemies of igbo land in their heads. They form it there or even dream it and then later come to Nairaland and post whatever they dreamt or imagined. In their heads, south east is always bad. They can come up with different stories to support their foolishness. They're not Igbos, but their profile is filled with more igbo threads than the actual Igbos on this forum.
The original South East is far from the reach of it's enemies. It's developing everyday and more and more igbos investing in it.
I remember during Christmas, one of the enemies of Igbos created a thread on how south east would be empty and how IMO state is no longer buzzing with people for Christmas. I laughed. Is it not the same IMO state I'm currently in? During Christmas period, all hotels where filled up. No outsider can find a single room in any hotel in IMO state. Our guests who came for my uncle's burial had to sleep in our house. People filled up everywhere, and you can see people coming into the state with their bags and boxes. That's the same IMO state that one buffalo is talking rubbish about. My brother who's based in warri came back and was surprised on how development is filling the place. He said he's been hearing negative things about IMO state and he didn't expect to see this devel of development. I told him that it's the work of our enemies Even orlu that they bad-mouth everyday has thousands trooping in. Any commercial driver that wants to make money just have to shout "orlu!" and people will fill the bus. Lol
MyopicMods: Suddenly how Nnamdi Kanu made Ndigbo to Abandon Education/Skill for Terrorism.
Years of listening to Radio Biafra by Nnamdi Kanu has made one peaceful people to be bitter and full of hate. No one progresses with hatred rather you stagnates. No matter how bandits ravages the north people move about freely
Today Schools in SE are closed, academic calendar always disrupted and above all education becoming less attractive because Nnamdi Kanu promised them Biafra.
Watching video of ESN you will even see children of less than 12 years carrying guns.
They have abandoned Education and Skill for full blown Terrorism. Most of the children are even tired of going to school after sitting at home.
Some will from there converge back to their ESN meeting. IPOB is doing great damage to the young generation.
Most parents are no longer comfortable but who to complain to because they might be executed by IPOB if they speak.
Picture below is Orlu in Imo where IPOB dwells . The whole town looks like Somalia.
Sometimes I wonder how you guys sit in your houses and concot funny stories about another region far away from you.
Awkabigboy: Assuming you're in the east and you or your loved one has a health emergency like intestinal obstruction, sickle cell crises, cerebral malaria or your pregnant wife becomes so sick . What exactly are you going to do because you will risk been killed by ipob terrorists on the road or even if you get to the hospital you won't see healthcare personels who would of course be at home to avoid troubles and be with their families.
This is exactly the untold aspect of the anarchy in the south east
Lalasticlala mynd44 front page please
Hospitals are usually open that day. I was in a teaching hospital in orlu on a Monday and people where being admitted. The only barrier may be fear to go out especially when you see everywhere so dry.
I've searched and searched and I've haven't gotten that reason why Igbos would choose presidency of a useless unproductive country when they can actually have their own and preside over it for as long as they want. It's sickening. You're fighting to be a manager in another man's company when you have the opportunity to own your own. Igbos, think. Nigeria's presidency Post is useless compared to the presidency of Biafra.
jmoore: IPOB members are saying there is nothing wrong if business activities are booming in Asaba because of sit at home in Onitsha.
What they fail to recognize is that there is no sit at home in Asaba.
It is obvious Asaba people don't recognise Nnamdi Kanu .
Asaba people don't obey IPOB orders!!
Something you and your cronnies should understand is that the sit at home order is not compulsory. Do you know that many parts of owerri do not observe the sit at home? Same with some parts of enugu? Does that mean that they are not Igbos? Or does that mean that they don't support nnamdi kanu?
Let me just say my opinion. The presidency is really overated. Yes it is. All I hear is 2023, presidency, elections and bla bla bla. When are we going to realize that we're wasting our time. You guys are just fiercely fighting for individuals and their families to enjoy the national cake.
You can call me a pessimist if you like but that presidency won't get us anywhere. Stop acting like it's going to change your lives. At the end of the day, with or without your vote, one old fool will become president.
BigJoe19: It's high time mods start closing meaningless threads.
I actually checked your profile hoping to see a meaningful thread but I saw none. Now Mr man, how can you call a thread meaningless when you haven't come up with a meaningful one?
The concept is greatly misunderstood. I bring to you the meaning of Feminism according to our insecure guys. 1) A feminist is a woman who hates men. Once she hates men, she's a feminist
2) A feminist is a woman who have refused to marry or have a boyfriend
3) A feminist is a woman who praises women and their work on social media.
4) A feminist is that woman that won't tolerate cheating in a relationship
5) A feminist is a woman who won't tolerate it when men treat her badly. In fact, she's evil.
6) A feminist is a divorced woman.
7) A feminist is a woman who's financially independent and doesn't beg guys for money. In fact that one is an "alpha female" .
8 )A feminist is a single mother. Lol
9) And lastly,a feminist is that woman who refuses to choose/ support men over women. That one is a devil
ba7man: Most major step the so called ingenious tribe has taken resulted in near destruction of the nation and hardship that has transcended generations.
(1) Azikiwe abolished regions and eliminated the secession clause from our constitution.
(2) Ironsi introduced coup into the mindset of the millitary which set the nation back for decades.
(3) Ojukwu dragged the nation into a civil war.
(4) Importation which they excel in is actually the biggest killer of manufacturing and the economy in Nigeria, thus weakening our currency.
If say na better tins dem dey import, e for better. Fakest and lowest quality of everything down to fake pharmaceutical drugs for sick and dying people (Collect their money, even if it means killing the sick)........ well, at least they deal in the best quality hard drugs.
1) So? Do you want to go wake him up from the dead and tell him to remove the secession clause from the constitution?
2) Except maybe you're referring to nigerian military, coups are common in military all over the world especially in that era. Many if not all great nations experienced coups at a time and it didn't stop them from excelling. So please stop using that as an excuse for Nigeria's failure.
3) Yes ojuku dragged Nigeria into a war she declared by herself. Lol. Give me reasons why ojuku shouldn't have declared Biafra. Looking at Nigeria today, was ojuku wrong? Your country is becoming useless everyday.
4) is there any country that doesn't import? If we're wrong in our imports, then you're tribe should do the export and excel in it
