Jonathan the christian; was it not almajiri interests he pursued more? It might not matter to you in the periphery, but it plays a significant role on so many things behind the scene. It brings the needed checks and balances on the issue of governance and policies that might hitherto appear harmless, but might be into the future. |

tesppidd: It is a simple question; "why did CAN not condemn PDP for giving Atiku their ticket, making it a potential 16 straight years of Muslim Presidency?" why did CAN have to wait for Tinubu to energe before remembering that they have Christian rights to protect?
The queation is not so hard na! In the spirit of fairness, assuming Muslims are the majority and Christian are second in population, no matter what, at the helm, with an Atiku ticket, a Christian interest will be represented and that's fair. For a Muslim Muslim ticket, that's a typical Bleep you to the Christian communities and will be very counterproductive. |

MikoB: As it is, the only sure aspirant in the apc that will beat Atiku in the apc is Osinbajo, reason been that PYO is the only aspirant that is acceptable in all the six geo political zones in the country, you will be amazed that Osinbajo has more support in the middle belt more than any support he enjoys in his region of South West, also the work he has put in for many months have began to manifest, his candidates won in benue, oyo and adamawa for the governorship to the surprise of many, but for the people that follow him were not surprised anyway. As for the primary coming up, Osinbajo is going to win, because the party knows he is the only one that can guarantee victory, let me talk a little bit about other aspirants, and their weaknesses, Asiwaju no doubt is a big politician any day any time, but he miscalculated, he was hoping on southern candidates for both apc and pdp base on the clamour at that time, so he did not bother himself to allign much with the SS and SE also with the Christian communities of the Middle belt, his calculation was that once pdp gives her ticket to either a ss or se person, he will surely have an upper hand in his region of sw and also do very well in the nw and ne, which normally would have guaranteed victory for him but with Atiku as the pdp candidate now, Tinubu wil need new strategy.
Ahmed lawan candidacy wil not fly, because Buhari is about to finish his two term regime under apc, it is impossible for apc to give another northerner her ticket, also Lawan cannot defeat Atiku, one, because they are from the same region of NE and everyone knows Atiku is stronger than him in the NE, Atiku and Kwankwaso will do very well too in the NW, the NC wil be divided among the aspirants, so coming to the south, he will not do well at all no matter whom he picks as his running mate, I trust the south westerners they will not vote for him, the south east has Obi and the south south will be shared depending on whom Atiku picks as his running mate, so lawan will not fly.
Amaechi is another candidate that might do well if given the ticket but his problem is that he has no political base at home and his region, but if he has the support of the president he might be able to put up some fight, but that does not guarantee a victory against Atiku.
With due respect to all other aspirants that I did not mention their names, even if Buhari endorses them and they pick up the ticket for the apc, they will not be able to defeat Atiku.
Osinbajo is the only candidate, that will win very well in SW, and also likely win the SS and not do badly in the SE, he will win in the North Central, he will not do badly in the North East because of some Christian population there, he will not do badly in the North West because apc controls most states there and also because of Buhari, so in all, Osinbajo will likely win 4 regions, either will like it or not, religion and ethinicty still play a big part in our politics in nigeria, and I guess these are going to be of advantage to Osinbajo, no wonder he is a movement in the christain dominated states of plateau, benue, Taraba etc. With Osibanjo, Atiku has won already mark my words |

Travel › Hausa Travel To South East Nigeria by Mune(op): 5:46pm On Jan 30, 2022 |
I have head a lot of negative news about how South Easterners treat the Hausa in Nigeria, so I decided to travel and see for myself. Here is a review of mine. I will like to hear your opinion on this. BRIEF ACCOUNT OF MY EXPERIENCE IN SOUTH EAST NIGERIA When we hear about South Eastern Nigeria in the North, the first thing that comes to mind is IPOB, secessionist, BNG, Nnamdi Kanu and the killing of Northerners etc. However, my journey to that region left me with a pleasant experience. My intension to travel to Enugu was on the 19th of January, 2022, but the journey couldn't proceed for the fact that there's a sit at home order declared by IPOB for the 18th of January, 2022 to show support and solidarity to Nnamdi Kanu on his court appearance. Some renegades, using the name of IPOB, have declared the sit at home to be for 3 days: 17th, 18th and 19th. Most transportation companies were reluctant to travel to South East for fear of the unknown. To be on the safer side, I postponed my travel to the 20th of January, 2022. In the morning of the 20th January, 2022, I arrived ABC transport to travel to Enugu. When we departed, a prayer was said by one of the passengers- a combination of songs of the praise of Christ and the a final prayer for God's protection. I joined in the prayers in my way of faith. Our first point of call was the station in Gwagwalada, some passengers, including me, used the opportunity to use the convenience. We proceeded immediately to Lokoja without much waste of time. In Lokoja, we stopped for 15 minutes to allow those who intend to eat something and also use the convenience do so. We left Lokoja for Enugu at around 10:50am. The bulk of the journey is in Kogi state then through Benue state before entering Enugu. The beautiful landscape as we proceed is beyond awe! ARRIVAL IN ENUGU Before entering Enugu city, the beautiful landscape of the South East manifest itself to me. The vegetation is succulent and green with palm kernel trees spread to a wide expanse of the land; a beauty to behold indeed. We entered Enugu city at around 3:55pm and was dropped at 'Abaka' Junction. I picked a Keke Napep to take me to Villa Toscana. The Keke man wanted to cheat me realising that I'm a stranger in town, but at the end, it was a good bargain. One thing I have noted is that, cost of transportation in Enugy is very high, and there are no motorbikes transversing the main roads in town. On my arrival to Villa Toscana, a friend picked me up and took me a little around to see the beauty of Enugu and its surrounding. In all honesty, I immediately fell in love with the town. Afterwards, I was taken to a hotel by name 1st Eleven, where I spent my first night. The next day, we proceeded to Anambra state for the main business of the visit. It was just like a 30 mins drive from Enugu to Anambra. We pass through a beautiful scenery that is full of luxurious vegetation. The ban on eating cow meat appears not to be holding or perhaps, it's over exaggerated as I saw many butchers openly selling cow meat on the open street. After I concluded the business of the day in Anambra, I returned back to Enugu. On my back to Enugu, we went to a nice eatery where we ate 'Abaca', a local delicacy made from cassava and a freshly cooked bush meat made from antelope. A cooked meal in the South East is quite expensive though! MY TOURING OF ENUGU TOWN I went round Enugu to further explore the town. It's quite a well arranged town with many smiling faces. I observed that, most of the banks and other private institutions have removed the Nigerian flag from their building. This might be as a result of the IPOB threat in my opinion. I canvassed with a lot of people, who by the way are very friendly and welcoming. I asked some about their opinion with regards to Nigeria State and whether secession is in the interest of the South East. The answer were always in the negative as they prefer to remain in Nigeria, but want the system to be restructured. I saw a lot of Northerners well dressed in their native attires openly doing their businesses without any molestation. I continue to explore the town for hours and my experience will forever be in the positive. Perhaps, Enugu town is different. Before proceeding to my accommodation to rest, I had a stop at a beautifully constructed park called 'Unity Park', where I rested for some few hours while appreciating the scenery and peaceful nature of the place. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. My intention is to go further into the South East, when an opportunity avail itself once again. Nigeria is such a marvelous country, but you will only appreciate the country more, when you travel and explore its make up. Peace! https://abbasgarba..com/2022/01/a-brief-account-of-my-experience-in.html?m=1 |

socialmediaman: You can allocate 100% to him, let's see if northerners think that way if he is contesting with a person like Atiku. We know the northern elites don't like Buhari, they're loyal to him because the people like him. Do you forget Buhari lost election in his home state to Yar'Adua and even lost election in some states to GEJ? Once he is off the ballot, the campaign slogan changes to Atiku will protect the interest of the northerners more than Osinbajo. Leave them to finish all their speculation about Osibanjo this Osibanjo that. With Atiku, they have no chance to defeat his well oiled structure. In fact, all available records point to the fact that Atiku defeated Buhari in 2019. |

We need to change our political system. It is not working for us at all.
We also need to reduce the size of our legislature, or we can make it wages per seating rather than monthly salary whether they sit or not.

Politics › Re: Which Nigeria's Leader Can Match IBB's Records? Celebrating IBB At 78 by Mune(op): 1:42pm On Aug 17, 2019 |
BluntBoy: Stop comparing countries because we practise a different style of government from them.
The UK practise parliamentary system of government and the US practice true federalism where power is shared equally between the central government and the component units.
Moreover, the passage of bills can be slow because of the size of our legislature and also because of corruption.
Moreover, we are talking about military vs civilian here.
If you check history, you will see that we got more benefits and lasting legacies from the military than from civilian governments. This is so because under military rule, there is no constitution to check the power of the ruler. And there is no Senate to slow down his policies. And that's exactly the kind of system that will suit a country like ours. I don't think we are still matured to practice liberal democracy. We need an iron hand.. |
