The moment they filled in any candidate aside Kwankwaso, the election has finished before it has even began. Kwankwaso is the only candidate that can make the election interesting and a contest. |
Omololu001:Absolutely! He is very good and hardworking. |
godox2:I'm from Kano and I concur with that comment |
Butterflyleo:They did the wrong thing by not informing him on time but a day to the event after his supporters have wasted money and resources to arrive Abuja. Is that fair? |
Idrismusty97:You probably know nothing about Kano or Kwankwaso. Kwankwaso enjoy massive support in Kano... |
ogtavia:The Time of the report will determine the response time. Issue of condoning the site is the sole responsibility of security personnel, but you know sometimes people within that area are the first to respond and sometimes help. In whatever case, your resources determine how far you can go in such operations. You can't compare the Chinese and Nigeria in terms of technological advancements. |
efavour:Put fertility aside, why will you like to have a child at a late age? There will come a time that you will like to rest and that child still need your attention ie when your energy is low and want to retire. Don't you want a child that will be of help to you when you most need it? Do you want to be 70 while your child is still in secondary school. People should marry within those years the doctor recommended as it is the best. |
Revrnd:You are wrong on this one. Kwankwaso is a great guy and he knows how to appeal to his base and whatever action he must done have done in the past is not because he hate someone or something. Infact, in Kano politics, Kwankwaso is being seen as less religious in his stand on issues thus making him at loggerhead with the conservatives. No one has done what Kwankwaso has done to Kano especially in the area of educating his people to be open minded through countless scholarship to study abroad and see a different world from theirs. |
bestviewer:Atiku will be the worst mistake of PDP I can assure you. Winning 25% in most of the northern states will be a Herculean or near impossible task for him. |
The best combination will be: Kwankwaso/Peter Obi Kwankwaso is the ONLY person in the North that can give Buhari a run for his money. Kwankwaso and Shekarau will significantly bring in a huge number of votes from Kano. In other north western states, Kwankwaso will get a significant number of votes, getting 25% in all the northern states will be easy... As for the South, Peter Obi will bring in the votes from South East. If Jonathan and other leaders of the South South region also do their work, South South will go to them. In the South West, Kwankwaso will likely get the 25% in all the states, but the influence of Tinubu will be a factor. However, Obasanjo is the Godfather of Kwankwaso, so I'm sure he will get a significant support to swell up the votes from South South South East and North East. The most important thing is for the votes in the North to split and the only candidate that can do the splitting successfully is Kwankwaso... |
'Don't be suckers', Nigerians! It is mostly true that when you repeat a lie over and over and over again, there is a high tendency for it to be believed as the truth, by mostly, the gullible and feeble minded. In 1943, the United States Department for War produced a short educational film to counter hate and racism in the US. The film was an attempt to dissuade Americans from falling into the trap of opportunist who mostly seek to divide rather than unite the population for their own selfish means. In 1947, a shorter version of the film was produced. You will observe that in Nigeria, a country with almost a 100% black population, gradually falling into the trap of this opportunist. Nobody talks about hospitals, schools, power, water, infrastructures etc. People only talked about 'Islamization, North vs South, Yoruba vs Igbo, Igbo vs Hausa etc. This stupidity is between blacks and blacks, imagine a black man calling a white man racist when he is a tribalist and a religious bigot himself. The comment section of our social media is beyond comment. No human is born with prejudices, "they are always made for us by those who want something", and it isn't going to be us but them who will benefit after using us 'suckers'. Even Adolf Hitler didn't begin to hate the Jews and other races overnight, he steadily developed his view point as he admitted in his opus magnum, Mein Kampf. Check the longer version of the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23X14HS4gLk The shorter version here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYPPZg4xgq8 Nigerians should unite... |
The Government of People’s Republic of China has donated 135, 500 bags of rice for distribution to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) by Boko Haram insurgency in the North-east region. Mr Bashir Garga, National Zonal Coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), made the disclosure in a statement on Monday in Maiduguri. The Golden Rule " We don’t want to hate and despise one another. In this world, there is room for everyone. And the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone. You have the love of humanity in your hearts! You don’t hate! Only the unloved hate - the unloved and the unnatural!.."-Charlie Chaplin in 'The Great Dictator. Read more below: http://www.charliechaplin.com/en/articles/29-The-Final-Speech-from-The-Great-Dictator- A good friend Muhammad Isa ßappah, via WhatsApp, sent me a video that got me into thinking about humanity as a whole-the level to which man has degenerated into loosing his own soul of humaneness. The focusing on what only divide us and forgetting about the thousand of things that unite us, the hate, the acrimony, the manipulation, the anger, the mistrust, the lust for blood and the social acceptance of hate and hate speeches in our societies. Putting the above into consideration, I decided to say a few words on an important principle all of humanity should hold dear and practice religiously. This is the principle of the 'Golden Rule'. The Golden Rule is a principle found in nearly all the religions of the world. It states generally: 'One should treat others in a way that he wants to be treated or wish upon others what you wish upon yourself' This basic principle is what each and every Nigerian should be taught at young age. They should know it like their names. It should be psychologically infused into the fabric of their mental faculty. To the adults, they should study and put it to good use- study of comparative religion not for polemics, but improving social integration and understanding. Let see what the Religion of Judaism, Christianity and Islam say about this principle: In Judaism: You should not take vengeance or bear grudges against your kinfolk. Love your neighbors as yourself. I am the LORD! Levictus 19:18 Similar verses: Levictus 19:34 Further reading :http://www.jewfaq.org/brother.htm In Christianity: Do others what you want them to do to you. This is the meaning of the law of Moses and the teaching of the prophets. Mathew 7:12 Similar verses: Luke 7:12, Luke 10: 20-25, Galatians 5:14 Further reading: https://lifehopeandtruth.com/change/christian-conversion/the-sermon-on-the-mount/the-golden-rule/ In Islam: “None of you has faith until he loves for his brother or his neighbor what he loves for himself.” [Sahih Muslim, Book 1, Number 72 There are Quranic verses encouraging patience, tolerance and rewarding evil with good like in: Repel evil with that which is best: We are well acquainted with the things they say Quran 23:96. Similar verses: Quran 13:22, Quran 41:34, Quran 28:54, Quran 42:40 Further reading: http://islam.ru/en/content/story/golden-rule-islam Deduction from above In all honesty, we have to start looking inwards and reflecting on ourselves and actions. We need to encourage teachings that unite rather than divide. We need to create the social condition that will not encourage the sheer greed and selfishness of us to lead. A just society. An intellectual society and a progressive society. Let there be peace! http://abbasgarba..com |
The Self Destruction of Northern Nigeria The Self Destruction of Northern Nigeria Apology: A long read only for those who have the patience “Our dried voices, when we whisper together are quite and meaningless as wind in dry grass or rats’ feet over broken glass” T S Elliot 1. Sheikh Abu Mus’ab Abd-al Wadud, the Amir of AQLIM offered to help the Muslims of Northern Nigeria with training, support and weapons in the context of their oppression in Jos and Maiduguri Boko haram incident of 2009. The message was delivered via multiple jihadis websites and forums to the Muslim in Northern Nigeria and was reported by Al Jazeera and Reuters. AQLIM means Al-qaeda in the Land of the Islamic Magreb( Mauritania, Algeria, Mali, Niger) 2. Nigeria was cited as the most dangerous place for Christians in the world by the US Congress… 3. Some individuals both inside and outside the country are calling for both sides to be armed eg FFK and his likes In the beginning Since prior to independence, Northern Nigeria has been a theater of conflicts, from inter-religious , intra-religious , inter-tribal and inter/intra ‘only God knows what’. These conflicts laid the foundation to the current dilemma. As I write this, the future of Northern Nigeria is uncertain - a “long painful death by a thousand cuts” is what the region has been enduring since the 1950s. Brief Timeline of some well known conflicts 1. 1950-1960s Political 2. 1980s Maitatsine-religious 3. 1987 Kafanchan- religious 4. 1990s Zangon Kataf, Tafawa Balewa, Kano –religious 5. 2000s-date Boko Haram, Kaduna religious and post election, Jos, Kano, Bauchi, Maiduguri, Adamawa, Yobe etc- religious, political and others Northern Nigeria as a Pandora’s box To the well informed, these conflicts are not merely historical; they tend to leave behind a signature for future references and politriking by both external and internal interest actors. These conflicts put us on the radar of those concerned as each and every event is meticulously documented for future analysis and exploitation by the powers that be. Though conflicts are inevitable, the ones in Northern Nigeria should be minimized and pandora’s box that was opened initially need to be closed and the key thrown into the bottomless pit of the Pacific Ocean. Consider point 1, 2 and 3 above; person from outside may not necessarily see the conflict on its own objective terms, but from a lens of interest. Even the issue of Boko Haram was a perfect excuse and tool in the hands of some shadowy actors that comprise of both external and internal. There was also a detailed chronological timeline of all the happenings that has led to the current fiasco, so it didn’t just appear from nowhere like abracadabra Do Northerners Hate Each other? I was on my way back from Sanga LGA of Kaduna state, when I stopped by the road side to buy yams. The lady selling the yam was a native of southern Kaduna. I paid for the yams, but jokingly asked her to give me some of the okra i saw with her;.. told her that I have no money to pay for it. What happened next baffled me! She packs nearly half a bag and said she has given it to me for free. I told her I was joking! She insisted that I must go with it while vehemently refusing a kobo from me. I worked with several of her kith and kinds and have never found something negative to say of them in terms of inter personal relationship between common people devoid of politics and religious issues. In the event that such issues are raised, their grudges are in the fact that they have been politically marginalized by my kind and that we view them as second class citizens in our respective domains. Nothing can be further from the truth, however, because in the past, before the mistrust and degenration of leadership in the region, that wasnt so and still stand with the majority of my people. The most important thing is for people to just respect each other ways and that is all. It is my view that, ordinary Musa, Dikko and John don’t have problem with each other as human beings. There is something that is at play to which most people may not know. Let us begin to see ourselves as humans first, please. Herdsmen and other Nigerian The recent incident in Numan of Adamawa state and several of its like in the past use to really brake my heart. It has shown the extent and rate to which we are fast becoming the barbarians of Africa and Nigeria as in the banality of evil- reflected in conflicts after conflicts and nothing much we can do about it, but to continue living as if everything is normal when it is not. These are what bring about a continuos cycle of violence that we in the North should try as much as possible to put a stop to, and also educate other Nigerians that herdsmen are being wrongly framed for crimes they nothing about to foster ethnic disharmony further in the North. It shall also be known that almost on a daily basis, the fulani are a victim to something not of their own doing. Similarly the press is encouraged to be objective in their reportage of these issues. They shouldn’t be seen to be taken side in their reportage, and to be objective in issues that are most often times complicated. Way forward 1. The level of disconnect between leaders and their followers in the North should be bridged 2. Clergies should be encourage to serve as vehicle for peace 3. Illiteracy and poverty should be minimized as most of these conflicts stem from that 4. Perpetrators of carnage should be punished to serve as deterrent to others 5. Objective press that reports it as it is without fear or favor. Let us not allow fifth columnist to continue to sow seed of disharmony as it only profits them to see us backward and in perfetual state of conflict. Every conflicts in Northern Nigeria is an aha moment to many who wish to see us divided rather than united. In Kunne yaji, jiki ya tsira! Let there be peace my people. http://abbasgarba..com.ng/2017/11/the-self-destruction-of-northern-nigeria.html?m=1 |
Stakekay1:Don't say anything for saying sake! Back it up with incident showing he is an Islamist bigot! I see him as a bridge builder who understands conflict mediation, and has used his position and acceptance to have involved himself in many peace mediation efforts between warring opponents. |
Fineman87:What is an Islamist bigot mean to you? Link it up contextually with this man. In Kano, his opponent see him as someone who is weak in Islamic religion..they always use that against him in any campaign, so I don't seem to understand what you mean. |
Marcelo290:This man records are there for all to see! He is a youth friendly person. Transmogrified Kano to a modern city, gave us free education, took all deserving undergraduate in Kano to various countries of the world for further studies, established 14 different higher institution in Kano, never collected security vote despite Kano being under the pangs of Boko Haram attacks and many more I can't mentioned here. |
genghiskhan007:Smokescreen alert! STFU, if you don't have a sensible thing to say. |
EazyMoh:Kwankwaso need to be sold to the world. I enjoined you to pls partake in that project. He is a youth friendly leader. He has touched the lives of so many of us in Kano who are from humble homes. He opened our eyes to what a serious govt can do with its available resources.. making us to asked the question: what in heaven had been happening before? |
genghiskhan007:Which state are you from? What tribe are you? Whatever the case, your leaders are also 'thieving bastards' .. |
EazyMoh:In the event that PMB decide to contest, I can assure you non of them stand a chance. If he decide not to contest, then Kwankwaso may likely get APC ticket to continue the next 4 years of the North of which PMB suppose to complete( can he honestly do just 4 yrs?) I don't like talking about PDP because they stand not a single chance base on the assessment of the situation so far. This, however can change, if the APC decide to implode on itself. |
EazyMoh:Am from Kano, I can testify to the fact that Sule Lamido did a billion times better to his people as governor of his State. He transformed the state to its current level from scratch. However, for me, KWANKWASO is the man. |
Stop putting your heads in the sand! Application Portal Closed means you didn't move to the next stage. |
All those that have their 'Application Portal Closed', be rest assured that your application has been terminated at this point. Thank you! |
The Staff of NEMA have embark on an Indefinite strike because of their condition of service under the new Director General. The Director General has put up his defense on several occasion ,saying he found the system rotten to the core and therefore had to put in measures to sanitize the Agency. The staff have countered that he has compounded an already critical situation as the staff have been grilling in pain since he assumed duty as the Director General.

Best Marriage Decision? Best marriage decision? Relationship between a man and a woman are impossibly complicated, so making a marriage decision based on a relationship is not quite a black and white situation. What is the most important factor to make a person marry someone? Primal forces such as love, fear, ego and lusty drives? Love?: Very important considering the sympathetic nature of humans. However, love sometimes is built up when you have been in a relationship with someone for a long time, causing you to even end up loving a person- even if you don't like them initially.., someone who you know their whole story, the fact that they rely on you. This is the kind of love you feel for your family and closest friends and can exist in full force even after the feeling of being in love has faded. For many people, this brings about a deep emotional connection that makes breaking apart inconceivable. This is an important factor in making a decision clearly albeit for a few lucky ones. Fear?: Dying alone, loneliness, regret of refusing to do so, time passing away and biological clock ticking etc can make a person decide to get married. For some lucky ones, the decision to get married based on fear works for them perfectly well while others may end up probably being a tragedy. Ego?: Some people make a decision based on ego ie they have a picture of an ideal partner in their mind-they based their decision on appearance, age, family, background, intelligence, job, wealth, general personality type etc. Like fear above, it work for some and not others. Lusty drives?: Cannot make any comment on this. In my opinion, the decision to get married should come from your gut. Human beings have a way of knowing whether something is right or not. Some little voice in your head will tell you 'this is right, just go ahead'. Similarly, a combination of some of the factors above, can make someone to draw up conclusion based on the convictions that yes, this is it. In summary, I think there is no general litmus test to determine a clear cut reason to make such a decision, but your gut, love and some deal breakers ie what and what you don't want from a relationship or from a potential partner should be an important guiding principle in choosing a life partner. Nobody will want to end up with a liability as a life partner. Nobody will want to end up in an unhappy marriage and life for eternity, so don't look down on anyone because he/she is in the process of making such an important decision. Like I said above, is not a black and white situation. Peace!!! http://abbasgarba..com.ng/2017/10/best-marriage-decision.html?m=1 |
gidgiddy:Comparing Kano and Lagos is like comparing cucumber and watermelon. Lagos has a high population density not land mass or population no. I don't think higher population density is one of the criteria of having higher LGAs. |
gidgiddy:I agree.. though it make secessionist agenda easier. |
gidgiddy:Regional government at present will be dangerous for the Nigeria system looking at past experiences and current happenings. |
Even without Nnamdi Kanu, I doubt with the current structure of Nigeria, Biafra can ever be reliazed. From 'Biafra' to 'Arewa Republic' to 'Odudua Republic' to 'Niger- delta Republic' to 'Kurdistan' to 'Catalonia' to 'Ambazonia' to 'who knows in the future Republic'?- like hurricane season like secession season. What does it take for a new country to be recognized internationally? There are stringent steps to be followed before a country is recognized internationally as an independent state and ALL the countries above have a near zero chance of even making it to ever becoming one at present. What are the requirements? 1. Declaring your intension to form a new country with the following conditions attached: a. Exist within a clearly defined territory( easy for some and not others-Biafra, Odudua Republic, Arewa Republic )b. Have a permanent population( easy for some) c. Have a government( In Nigeria, it's confusing: probably why some restructuring mullahs and pastors are advocating for it) d. Be able to enter into relationship with other sovereign states( In Nigeria, the situation is as confusing as the scientific origin of man and the universe) 2. Country must be recognized by existing states within the International Community, a decision made at each country's discretion( Some country can recognized a particular new state while others may decide not to) 3. Join the United Nation( 193 member states) by accepting its charter. Note: is only opened to peace loving states- a slight conflict in your domain can derail your chances( this is ambiguous by the way) Joining UN is done via below procedures: a. Send an application addressed to UN Secretary General b. Application to pass through the UN Security Council of 15 member states of which 9 must approve( the vote of the 5 permanent members is the most important- an objection through veto by any will automatically kill your chances) c. If approved by the Security Council, the application is then sent to the General Assembly comprising of 193 member states of which 2/3 must approve.., if not, your chances are automatically dead. With the above, I think the Nigeria government shouldn't worry itself at all about this secessionist propagandist, because non of them has a slightest chance of ever making it to becoming a country in the current Nigeria structure. Advocates of restructuring, especially those calling for 'resource control', 'regional government' etc knows better It is my opinion that the current structure of Nigeria remains. However, there should be a localized form of 'devolution of powers' ie some functions performed by the FG should be handed over to state governments with a commensurate compensation via additional resources from the center. Issue of security is a tricky one in the Nigeria context. This require serious strategic thinking from the authorities concerned, because, there will be a conflagration to abuses of the system-dreaming of an independent police!!!!! haha No need to create new states, but empower existing ones to perform better( with the same people today )The legislature should become lean to save cost and many more... The end for now... http://abbasgarba..com.ng/2017/10/do-biafra-and-others-have-chance.html?m=1 |
