Islam › Re: 8 Basic Errors Muslims Make When Paying Zakat Al-fitr by Mushood: 3:24pm On Jul 16, 2015 |
babs01: Praise be to Allaah. It was proven from the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) that he enjoined zakaat al-fitr on the Muslims, one saa’ of dates or one saa’ of barley, and he commanded that it be given before the people went out to the (Eid) prayer. In al-Saheehayn it is narrated that Abu Sa’eed al-Khudri (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: At the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) we used to give one saa’ of food, or one saa’ of dates, or one saa’ of barley, or one saa’ of raisins. Some of the scholars have interpreted “food” (ta’aam) in this hadeeth as referring to wheat; others interpreted it as meaning the staple food of the country, whatever it is, whether it is wheat, corn, pearl millet or whatever. This is the correct view, because zakaah is a help from the rich to the poor, and the Muslim does not have to help with anything other than the staple food of his country. Undoubtedly rice is the staple food in the land of the Two Holy Sanctuaries (Saudi Arabia) and it is a good and valuable food; it is better than the barley that is mentioned in the text. Hence it is known that there is nothing wrong with giving rice as zakaat al-fitr. What must be given is a saa’ of any kind of staple food, i.e., a saa’ of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), which is four complete scoops as scooped up with two hands, according to al-Qaamoos etc. In modern weights this is equivalent to approximately three kilograms. If a Muslim gives a kilo of rice or some other staple food of his country, that is sufficient even if it is not one of the types mentioned in the hadeeth, according to the more correct of the two scholarly opinions. There is nothing wrong with giving the equivalent amount by weight, which is approximately three kilograms. Zakaat al-fitr must be given on behalf of all Muslims, young and old, male and female, free and slave. With regard to a foetus, it is not obligatory to give it on his behalf according to scholarly consensus, but it is mustahabb, because ‘Uthmaan (may Allaah be pleased with him) did that. It is also obligatory to give it before the Eid prayer, and it is not permissible to delay it until after the Eid prayer. There is nothing wrong with giving it one or two days before the Eid. Hence it is known that the earliest time when it may be given, according to the more correct of the two scholarly views, is the night of the 28th of Ramadaan, because the month may be twenty-nine or thirty days. The companions of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to give it one or two days before Eid. Those to whom it must be given are the poor and needy. It was proven that Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) enjoined zakaat al-fitr as a purification for the fasting person from idle and obscene speech, and to feed the poor. Whoever gives it before the prayer, it is zakaat al-fitr, and whoever gives it after the prayer, it is ordinary charity. This was narrated by Abu Dawood and classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood. It is not permissible to pay the value in money, according to the majority of scholars; this view has the stronger evidence. Rather it must be given in the form of food, as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and his companions (may Allaah be pleased with them) did. This is also the view of the majority of the ummah. We ask Allaah to help us and all the Muslims to understand His religion properly and adhere to it steadfastly, and to guide us, for He is the Most Generous, Most Kind. Majmoo’ Fataawa al-Shaykh Ibn Baaz, 14/200. This is the estimation of Shaykh Ibn Baaz (may Allaah have mercy on him) , who reckoned the weight of zakaat al-fitr as being approximately three kilograms. This was also the estimate of the scholars of the Standing Committee (9/371). Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allah have mercy on him) estimated it in grams as being 2100 grams, as it says in Fataawa al-Zakaah , p. 274-276. This discrepancy occurred because a saa’ is a measure of volume, not weight. The scholars worked it out by weight so that it would be easier to work out. It is well known that the weight of grains varies; some are light and some are heavy, and some are in between. In fact the weight of a saa’ of the same kind of grain may vary, and new may weigh more than old. Hence if people err on the side of caution and give more, that will be better. See al-Mughni , 4/168, where it mentions something similar about working out the nisaab of crops by weight. And Allaah knows best. Thanks really appreciate ur contribution, but d fact is dat nowadays, u can not predict what pple want or what d person will appreciate, for instance, who will appreciate dates as zakatul fitri and u never can tell wat d person is lacking and would prefer to have, in such case, money is said to be preferred. Your advice is valuable especially following the plumber and electrician to the market.
You will get quality items @ just a little higher price than the ordinary ones. my brother, construction is not dat way, if u think following ur electrician or plumber to d selling store, dat wen u will even spend more dan expectation cos once d seller discover dat u novice and d other guy is ur artisan, he will add his share to d price he would give u for bringing customer for him. So d best way to cut dis is to get quotation from two to three diff pple to compare and ask dem each to come wit their sample. Chikena!!! |

For instance, my mum trained me quite well in that aspect. I can cook virtually everything. But right now I only boil noodles and I'm good to go. No time for all those pounding and turning of pots. Very few men retain their cooking skills as they grow because naturally they would prefer not to cook, especially ones that require time and extra care. They are just not that organized and focused as women and therefore cooking is really a hardwork for them.
If you have to force your boys to learn to cook, prepare to buy countless pots and make sure you have a fire extinguisher ready somewhere. u are rite bro cos am a victim of wat u said above. ulster: In this ebola season where cost of hand-sanitisers have literally trebled and the composition of these hand-sanitisers are in doubt, why not make your own home-made hand sanitizer from ingredients you select. This is an excellent project for kids, now that schools are not resuming soon and you'll save money, protect yourself from germs, and can customize the scent of the hand sanitizer, and be sure of the composition of the hand sanitisers you are using this period. It is not rocket science but simple chemistry, so lets go:?
2/3 cup 99% rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) or ethanol 1/3 cup aloe vera gel 8-10 drops essential oil, optional (such as lavendar, tea-tree, vanilla, peppermint, grapefruit) bowl and spoon funnel recycled liquid soap or hand sanitizer bottle
Nothing could be easier! Simply mix the ingredients together and then use the funnel to pour them into the bottle. Screw the pump back onto the bottle and you're ready to go.
Wash your hands regularly with soap, apply your home made hand-sanitiser and put your trust in Jesus and be ebola free! God bless plagiarism |

Crime › Man Robbed, Wife Brutally Raped And Baby Thrown Away By Robbers In Kogi State by Mushood(op): 5:42am On Aug 19, 2014 |
Here’s the pathetic story of a woman whose three-month old baby was thrown into the bush before an eight-man gang of robbers raped her in turns, until she lost consciousness while her husband was made to watch helplessly!
According to Sun News, the unidentified woman had bruises all over her body especially down her waist and could barely stand on her own! How sad!
The suspects attacked the couple on their way to the village, and robbed them at gunpoint of all they had, then took them in the family car to a near by bush where they tied the husband and had their way with the wife who had a 3month-old baby, which was thrown into the bush.
For over two hours, the eight robbers, raped the woman while her baby cried and her husband watched helplessly, as she slipped into unconsciousness!
When the robbers were done, they tied the unconscious woman’s legs and drove away – the woman regained consciousness, struggled to free herself and walked to a nearby village, where she informed a group of vigilantes, who later rescued the husband.
The Acting Commissioner of Police, Mr Abiodun Odude said, on receiving the report, a police patrol team led by Mr. Mbang Eteng, an Assistant Superintendent of Police tracked down and arrested two of the robbers, whose names were given as Vincent Oguche from an uncompleted building, and Femi Simon, who attempted to run away, but was overpowered by policemen and both of them taken into custody.
The suspects caught claimed they weren’t in their right senses as they were very high on drugs! Http://blog.informationng.com/2014/08/heartless-man-robbed-wife-brutally-raped-and-baby-thrown-away-by-robbers-in-kogi-state/ |

Nairaland General › Stop The Attack On President Jonathan-eedris Abdulkareem by Mushood(op): 7:50am On Aug 18, 2014 |
Eedris Abdulkareem has been off the music scene for a while now – Anyways the controversial rapper is back, with a new album dedicated to president Jonathan – Say what! One of Nigeria’s earliest rappers, Eedris Abdulkareem has a new album coming pretty soon – The album is in honour of Nigeria’s current president GEJ, who in his view is one of the best to have led Nigeria. This was made known by the rapper in a recent interview with Channels TV ‘Sunrise’ on Aug. 16. The album according to the ‘Jagajaga’ crooner will be mostly begging Nigerians to stop the attack on Jonathan and give room to lead; “Since I was born a Nigerian growing up, I have always known that propaganda is the issue and they just share the money up and down. This Lagos-Ibadan expressway has been there for fifteen years by the former Minister of Works, Baba Tony Anenih and they didn’t do anything .Goodluck is doing that road. That is the Federal government road, He is working on it. Our airport has been reformed. Thirdly our agricultural sector, farmers don’t get their fertilizer directly but today they get their fertilizer, fertilizer is now a big business. So it is important we say all these things because most people don’t know. We all know that the insecurity is propaganda. ” OK! before you get ahead of yourself and think that the album dedication is in anticipation of gains in return, here’s what the rapper has to say to that; “I was was the first person that came out in the rally when Pres. Goodluck Jonathan increased the fuel price at Ojota. “I have never seen Goodluck before but what I know is going on with that guy is a big propaganda and they should leave him alone let him work. When I sang jagajaga, did anybody pay me? If opposition paid me, by now I go don get plenty billions. So its simple, the facts must be told. When I sang Nigeria jagajaga, it was 12 years ago and this is 12 years later, so why is everybody blaming the poor guy? because he is from Niger Delta or because the presidency has left the north?” http://blog.informationng.com/2014/08/stop-the-attack-on-president-jonathan-eedris-abdulkareem/ |
