parisbookaddict: The bible is a collection of scores of inspired books/texts from ancient prophets to the disciples of Christ and their followers accounting for thousands of years of Jewish history and revelations by God to his chosen people.
So we have dozens of prophets and disciples all saying the same thing in a logical sequences as revealed by God. There are dozens of witnesses to the fact.
I have answered your question, if I remember correctly u are a muslim, My question to u now is who wrote the quran. What an answer...who were they? how close were they? malvisguy212: on many occasion the quran indicate Allah is praying, to whom did he pray to? I created a thread about this and they deleted it. Infacte the quran does not say Allah exist before the world was.
I need to see the claimed of the rest gods to know if they are suitable for the first caused, as in now, only the bible God made such claimed, he exist before the world began.even Jesus say he share the glory with the father before the world began. Surah Al-Hadid. 1. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorifieth Allah and He is the Mighty, the Wise. 2. His is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; He quickeneth and He giveth death; and He is Able to do things. 3. He is the First and the Last, and the Outward and the Inward; and He is Knower of all things. 4. He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in Days; then He mounted the Throne. He knoweth all that entereth the earth and all that emergeth therefrom and all that cometh down from the sky and all that ascendeth therein; and He is with you wheresoever ye may be. And Allah is Seer of what ye do. 5. His is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and, unto Allah (all) things are brought back. 6. He causeth the night to pass into the day, and He causeth the day to pass into the night, and He is Knower of all that is in the breasts. 7. Believe in Allah and His messenger, and spend of that whereof He hath made you trustees; and such of you as believe and spend (aright), theirs will be a great reward 8. What aileth you that ye believe not in Allah, when the messenger calleth you to believe in your Lord, and He hath already made a covenant with you, if ye are believers? 9. He it is Who sendeth down clear revelations unto His slave, that He may bring you forth from darkness unto light; and lo! for you, Allah is Full of Pity, Merciful. |

malvisguy212: The Bible is the most remarkable book ever written. About 40 men of several countries and many occupations did the writing. They wrote over a period of approximately 1500 years and in three languages - Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. Yet the Bible is an well- organized unity with one great theme and central figure - Jesus Christ. All of this would be impossible unless the Bible had one supreme Author - and it did - the Holy Spirit of God. A. The Age Of The Bible The earliest portions of Scripture date back more than 3,300 years. However, its message has been fresh and relevant to men of every age and generation. Its pages are still producing new gems of truth, even to those who study them the most. B. The Demand For The Bible It is by far the most widely circulated book in the world. Since 1804, more than 800 million Bibles and portions of Scripture have been issued. These figures are from the British and Foreign Bible Societies alone. Every year more than 22 million copies of the complete Bible and New Testament are circulated around the globe. The Bible has been translated more than any other book. Each year we see an increase in the number of translations. The following figures reflect this steady growth. In 1500 A.D. it had been printed in 14 languages. In 1600 - about 40 languages. In 1800 - about 72 languages. In 1900 - about 567 languages. In 1937 - about 1,000 languages In 1970 - about 1500 languages. In 1997 - to date, at least partially translated in more than 2100 languages. (Wycliffe Bible Translators are currently working on an additional 1000 languages.) 3. The Uniqueness Of The Bible (This material and more information under this topic can be found in Evidence Which Demands A Verdict. Josh McDowell, pp. 16-25) A. Unique In Its Continuity - The Bible has an unique continuity when you consider that... it was written over a 1500-year period; written over 40 generations; written by over 40 authors from every walk of life including kings, peasants, philosophers, fishermen, poets, statesmen, scholars, etc.; written in many different places. B. Unique In Its Survival - 1. Survival through Time - Being written on material that perishes, having to be copied and recopied for hundreds of years before the invention of the printing press, did not diminish its style, correctness or existence. The Bible, compared with other ancient writings, has more manuscript evidence than any 10 pieces of classical literature combined. NoO! Who are the authors? Check history they neva existed, hence the bible is nt the word of God. that's it. the most closest was Paul who wrote it 40yrs afta Jesus departure. And he was a bounty hunter who used to take Christians to Romans for slaughter and yet christians read n believ wat he wrote. Imagined Jews of today believin wat hitler fter slaughtering them. At once he began to preach in the synagogues that Jesus is the Son of God. All those who heard him were astonished and asked, "Isn't he the man who raised havoc in Jerusalem among those who call on this name? And hasn't he come here to take them as prisoners to the chief priests?" Yet Saul grew more and more influential and baffled the Jews living in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Messiah. — Acts 9:20-22 His initial reaction to the newly formed Christian movement was to zealously persecute its early followers and to violently attempt to destroy the movement. Paul's dramatic conversion while on the road to Damascus was clearly a life-altering event for him, changing him from being one of the early movement's most ardent persecutors to being one of its most fervent supporters. Paul began to preach that Jesus is the Christ , the Son of God. So technically this paul, Saul of tarsus deceived Christians ... And by the way the Bible is full of errors n contradictions... So Paul Paul... |

malvisguy212: good, you adress the first claimed of agnostics. You know what I notice in your post? You want to worship a God who can have a personal relationship with you, and can communicate with you the way you choose. You see my friends, in the bible we read how the prophet pray and the next verse will tell you God answer there prayer and revealed himself to them, the truth of the matter is that the God did not just straight away answer there prayer, one thing you should know is that the bible was not written as a STORY book, it was written on how human can have personal relationship with God, bible say adam HEARED the footsteps of God in the garden, what does this mean? It mean God and man were very close to each other before the fall. This is what God want from us, we should know HIM.
I don't have explanation of what happened before God began creation, but what I do know is that God is a spirit(john 4:24) spirit don't play by the rule or time of human . when you read the claimed of other gods, you will notice there claimed is similar but the different is there nature. This is not a coincidence. The people who wrote the Bible neva met, seen, or talked to Jesus? Who are Matthew, Luke, Paul? Paul who? Matthew who? they don't even kno their Bible had anonymous writers wit no surname. they record "according to" even in d modern world it'll not be accepted, only Christians. . ... different versions, who wud follow that for God sake? |

barcanista: I find it repulsive when supporters of the government and APC try to play fast on our collective intelligence. I believe that it is patriotic to set the record straight with respect to Asset declaration.
Declaring of Asset With Code of Conduct Bureau According to the law, EVERY category of public officer MUST declare their asset before CCB.
This every government official fulfilled. The CCB Chairman in 2012 confirmed that exPresident Jonathan declared his www.vanguardngr.com/2012/09/jonathan-has-declared-assets-bureau-chairman/
This is EXACTLY what Buhari and Osinbajo did...
Note: that it isn't mandatory for assets to be declared in publicly, but mandatory to do so with code of conduct
["Public" Asset Declaration(PAD) Unlike CCB declaration, PAD declaration is subject to the wish of the office holder. Musa Yaradua in year 2000 first declared his asset PUBLICLY as Governor of Katsina state. Details of his asset and liabilities was published. In June 2007, against the advice of CCB he went ahead to publish details of his assets and liabilities and those of his wife Turai yaradua. (nm.onlinenigeria.com/templates/?a=10124) He never waited for CCB to publish it neither did Yaradua tell anyone to make demand for it by invoking the FOI law. CCB only does verification, they DON'T publish asset as declared.
For the record, even before the passing of the FOI, any citizen can petition CCB or get a warrant from the Court for the release of asset declaration form of a public officer. It doesn't translate to "public declaration" [The "Not so Smart" Buhari: While campaigning, Buhari made a pledge to Publicly Declare his asset...
Rather than public declaration, President Buhari did what every public officials have been doing by ONLY declaring with the CCB. To add salt to injury, Buhari through his Aide Alhaji Shehu Garba said Buhari has "fulfilled his promise". In his own words...
He went further to say that Nigerians can "invoke the FOI" if they want details which is not different from the norm.
For the record, there is no law that set time limit for public declaration of asset, neither is there any law that illegalise public asset declaration.
Buhari Has No History of Public Asset Declaration, Yaradua Does Buhari has served in various capacity as State Governor, NNPC boss, Petroleum Minister, PTF(special) boss and Head of State yet never has he declared his asset publicly. Buhari has no history of open asset declaration unlike yaradua.
As Governor, Yaradua never promised to declare PUBLICLY his asset in 2000, yet he did. He repeated same as President in 2007.
Finally, Buhari and his followers should understand that the image of the President will be affected if he continue to insist that "he has fulfilled his promise" by not doing what he promised to do
May God bless Us All So much eagerness to criticise Buhari. While you're at it, please apply common sense |

malvisguy212: mujahid1339 how is this an answer to the op? You are clueless and cannot defend your prophet. All what you copy and paste are the old testament law, they live by the divine law of God, and when you break the law of God who don't tolerate sin, it's punishment.
The amalikites you accused the isrealite of killing are a nation who is far stronger than the isrealite, but God was on the side of the isrealite. The amalikites first attack the isrealite during the exedus in the desert, when they are legging and thirsty , the amalikites attack with out provocation. During the time of judges, when the isrealite planted crops, the amalikites will invade there farm and harvest it, God judge them but He waited for soo long until the fill up there measures.
On slavery.First, we must recognize that the Bible does not say God supports slavery. In fact, the slavery described in the Old Testament was quite different from the kind of slavery we think of today - in which people are captured and sold as slaves. According to Old Testament law, anyone caught selling another person into slavery was to be executed:
"He who kidnaps a man, whether he sells him or he is found in his possession, shall surely be put to death." ( Exodus 21:16)
So, obviously, slavery during Old Testament times was not what we commonly recognize as slavery, such as that practiced in the 17th century Americas, when Africans were captured and forcibly brought to work on plantations. Unlike our modern government welfare programs, there was no safety-net for ancient Middle Easterners who could not provide a living for themselves. In ancient Israel, people who could not provide for themselves or their families sold them into slavery so they would not die of starvation or exposure. In this way, a person would receive food and housing in exchange for labor.
So, although there are rules about slavery in the Bible, those rules exist to protect the slave. Injuring or killing slaves was punishable - up to death of the offending party. Hebrews were commanded not to make their slave work on the Sabbath, slander a slave, have sex with another man's slave, or return an escaped slave. A Hebrew was not to enslave his fellow countryman, even if he owed him money, but was to have him work as a hired worker, and he was to be released in 7 years or in the year of jubilee (which occurred every 50 years), whichever came first. In fact, the slave owner was encouraged to "pamper his slave".
Bible rule on slave: "If a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod and he dies at his hand, he shall be punished." ( Exodus 21:20) "If a man strikes the eye of his male or female slave, and destroys it, he shall let him go free on account of his eye. "And if he knocks out a tooth of his male or female slave, he shall let him go free on account of his tooth." (Exodus 21:26-27) "He who strikes a man so that he dies shall surely be put to death." ( Exodus 21:12) 2. "Six days you are to do your work, but on the seventh day you shall cease from labor so that your ox and your donkey may rest, and the son of your female slave, as well as your stranger, may refresh themselves. (Exodus 23:12) 3. Do not slander a slave to his master, Or he will curse you and you will be found guilty. ( Proverbs 30:10) 4. 'Now if a man lies carnally with a woman who is a slave acquired for another man, but who has in no way been redeemed nor given her freedom, there shall be punishment; they shall not, however, be put to death, because she was not free. ( Leviticus 19:20) 5. "You shall not hand over to his master a slave who has escaped from his master to you. ( Deuteronomy 23:15)
