The cycle of almajiri in Northern Nigeria. The problem is rooted in the culture |
Hundreds — reportedly thousands — of dispatch riders took to the streets of Abuja on Thursday, 19 February 2026, in a large-scale protest at the FCT Administration Secretariat in the Garki / Area 11 axis. The demonstration was peaceful but visibly impactful, as motorcycles and riders briefly blocked traffic, chanting against what they described as “multiple taxation” and excessive fees that are crushing their already thin margins. 🔗 Video (YouTube): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsKWNd_cB0w One of the riders in the video alludes that there is a threat to ban the Dispatch Riders from Riding in Abuja (This is unfounded tho) Why the Riders are Protesting According to spokesmen of the multiple Dispatch Riders and from researched findings: Dispatch riders pay a yearly fee (~₦13,000) to the area councils — AMAC, Bwari, and Gwagwalada — as their statutory tax obligations. Recently, a new levy of ₦25,000 has been demanded in the name of the FCT Administration / FCTA, which many riders claim is duplicative and oppressive. Some motorcycles were reportedly impounded by revenue collectors, with payments demanded before release — a key spark for the protest. Riders also emphasise frequent ₦300 daily market entry fees, which — when multiplied over multiple daily entries — add up to a significant operational cost. According to the riders, they are not opposed to paying legitimate taxes — but they reject duplicate charges that feel arbitrary, unstructured, and possibly unlawful. Response From The Authorities Officials from the FCT Transportation Secretariat engaged with rider leaders and promised that the issues would be investigated and clarified. This led to the temporary suspension of the protest while talks continue. There has so far been no direct public response from FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, but riders are explicitly calling for his intervention to resolve the impasse and protect their livelihoods. |
And this is front page news ![]() Once you join APC, you leave your brain at the door. 🧠 🚪 |
QuinQQ:Get a bail and proceed to trial. All these government-provided Defence Lawyers don't like putting in the work for their assigned cases. They want a fast judicial process at the detriment of the accused. They are usually not willing to go on trial on their meagre or non-existent government funds. |
I'll never understand this idea of pleading guilty. It's like a university lecturer that knows you wrote well, but for some sentimental reasons, won't score you an A. If the prosecution can't prove their case beyond reasonable doubt, why should a judge pressure you into that guilt plea. Not you're an exconvict for life. You're a registered criminal. He knows the implication of this, he should have let you go and sin no more, as per first offender...or a 19yr old. |
emilomona:I can't affirm anything. I don't know them. Mod. I've done bit of online study...there'll always be customer complaints. Reddit, Facebook, ChatGPT. Buh yea, it's worth trying. But do go directly, go with the OP as a downline. Let him guide you. |

Buh governor Adeleke still used that format recently with that puff puff seller. |
I wrote a piece on Kebbi, the Argungu Fishing Festival and it's logistics implications. Check it out here on nairaland... https://www.nairaland.com/8618256/argungu-festival-hidden-logistics-behind#138466188 |
This is the better time to buy the 5g router...it's comparatively cheaper now, and since the network speed is great over there, it's a good time to port to another network. |
The book Angels and Demon, and The Da Vinci code, by same author- Dan Brown, both alludes to divinity in sex. Some occultic circles practice Ritual sex. |

The Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival is widely recognised for its spectacle, heritage, and symbolism. Yet beyond the colourful imagery lies a less visible — but critical — component: Logistics. Large cultural festivals are not merely celebrations; they are temporary economic ecosystems. They trigger complex flows of people, goods, services, and time-sensitive operations. Every successful festival depends on coordinated movement such as: • Visitors travelling across states • Hotels restocking supplies • Vendors replenishing inventory • Event materials arriving on schedule • Equipment transported safely • Last-mile deliveries executed efficiently In this sense, logistics becomes the silent enabler of cultural experiences. Kebbi State, home of the historic festival, presents a particularly interesting case. Its agricultural strength, river systems, cross-regional trade, and growing tourism activity create layered transport demands — especially during high-activity periods. Argungu therefore represents more than tradition. It illustrates how culture, commerce, and mobility intertwine. For businesses, vendors, and individuals engaging with Kebbi State — whether supplying products, sending equipment, or supporting guests — structured logistics planning becomes essential. HomeDel Logistics continues to support deliveries, dispatch coordination, intercity shipments, and last-mile solutions designed to meet both routine and peak-period needs. Because behind every memorable event lies a network ensuring that everything — and everyone — arrives where they should.

Na now your day break. Reputation built on clout is not needed for generational business. Build your business integrity and your solid brand name. That's what your children can inherit. |
africanusvu:Yes, I kept searching till page 3, to be sure if someone else has cleared them. The narrative is false. That's a normal traditional send forth to the dead. They sing, dance and make merry immediately the body is lowered. The poster/youtuber is either genuinely wrong or pushing a gay-hate agenda. |
This is not what we protested for. |
This is not a progressive move for democracy. There are solutions to the e-transmission problem. Let's get it right this time...once and for all. |
It's not a legal arrest. The criminal case can only be escalated by the staff admin student affairs. You no sign Form 13? |

I was actually looking out to see the Senate president mention the 9 states without network coverage in Nigeria. |
Razzness:So by 2031, the youth of this country will vote for Atiku or Kwankwaso or any old bloke again? Count me out. |
You've just written arrant nonsense. Not bashing your effort, but there was no effort here. Read your title and read the article you posted. You guys just use whatever tool to churn out garbage. You're making reading unbearable for us. A thinking writer will- in the least, name specifics, something relatable or coherent...you were just talking in the nonsense, mixing unrelated half-cut points, jumping here and there, saying so much about nothing. You no just get point at alllllllll You know how painstaking it is to read lengthy posts....stop wasting our effort. Next time, proofread your article through another eye. |
We all wish we are ready, but how do we authenticate the system? How tamperproof is it? Well, we eventually have to test it, in order to make progress. There may be peculiar litigations after the elections but that's the only way our democracy, and civilization can grow. |
Oooooh. Where's the image na...? |
Obaofaba:So whats the better option? Same status quo? Why the 1trillion+...? What's the progressive way forward for electioneering in this age? |
BlakKluKluxKlan:How dare you! |
