how is getting tattoos of things that we find a representation of ourselves going against God?

I promised I wouldn't stay long on any thread but as someone with tats, I am highly offended by these 'sermons'.

"Going against God?" I suppose this rule would only be different if someone had perhaps a bible verse tatted on them LAWD! My brother, don't buy into the foolishness. Some of the most religious peoples of the "ancient/bible days" sported tattoos and tribal marks.

I am talking about societies and eras when people took God/Life far more serious than even the 'holiest' Christian or Muslim does in today's world. Despite their love for God, simply because they marked their bodies, you're telling me they were on a mission to forsake their God/s?

People will chat all kinds of fart to appear to be 'holy and righteous'.
